== What are diagnostic logs? ==

Diagnostic logs, including crash logs, are a very important tool for debugging Second Life Viewer problems; they allow a developer to try to fix a bug that they've never personally witnessed.

Sometimes, our [http://secondlife.com/support Support] team will ask you to provide diagnostic logs while helping you with a support ticket. Support may ask you to provide specific logs; preferably, you can attach them to a support ticket, or if the contents are shorter, you can open them up in a text editor and copy-and-paste them into your ticket. If you're not sure, ask Support to clarify.

The Viewer can automatically submit crash logs to Linden Lab when the Viewer crashes, but external developers can't see them publicly. If you'd like the broader community to help find the bug that caused Second Life to crash on your computer, you can report the bug on the [[Issue Tracker]] and attach your crash logs.

I'd love to see SkyBeam region on the Pilot roll. Would be happy to have one or two other select regions on there through the estates. I was almost certain I'd requested once before about a year ago, perhaps a bit more, but seem to have dropped off the list. A '''Public Nightly''' build is a viewer that was built from an internal code branch automatically overnight and distributed to a small group of alpha-tester Residents. (The group is affectionately named "Battery Street Irregulars" or BSI.)

These nightly builds lead up to Release Candidate viewers, but may contain glaring bugs as they are not always fully tested by Linden Lab's QA team. Only dedicated Residents who want to experiment with new features and help Linden Lab engineers to resolve challenging bugs should download them.

Nightly builds of the viewer will connect to the main LIVE Second Life Grid. All user information, L$, content, land and other transactions are REAL.

: For monthly or fortnightly meetings, the wiki templates would need to be modified to not use the hCalendar class attribute values whenever the meeting wasn't occurring, then the iCal feed generated by Technorati and the slOfficeHours twitbot would automatically act accordingly, since as far as they're concerned, the events wouldn't exist when the hCalendar class attribute values aren't there.

Hello Everyone - A Volunteer Challenge for you!

I have a special project for you if some of you are up to a challenge! Some of you may be familiar with the MDStyle Orientation Islands, others may not be. These are 4 new orientation islands that Linden Lab is testing styled after the successful Meltingdots orientation island. The way our Orientation islands are set up, we will need to 'seed' these four islands with people to pull new residents to them from the registration process and then we can begin to collect data on how new residents take to this form of orientation. We need at least 8 people there at all times if possible.

The islands are MDStyle Orientation Island 1, MDStyle Orientation Island 2, MDStyle Orientation Island 3 and MDStyle Orientation Island 4. Just type the island name into the map to go there.

During your time in SL in the next few weeks please try and check the green dots on these islands. Drop by if they go below 8 per island, that's the magic number...lol. We would be very appreciative! I'll let you know when the test is over.

So remember to keep an eye on the bouncing green dots!! (MDStyle that is...lol) Volunteers ROCK!

It's great that Lindens are having office hours, but most of these hours are during the day on weekdays while people are at work and such. Could we get more office hours that are in the afternoon and evening? This would work out better for most people who do want to talk to Lindens but also have day jobs.
