Agenda
Updates
- Main Channel
- Kelly's "mono2-aware" branch.
- Magnum
- Same as before + a merge from trunk to contain Kelly's "mono2-aware" branch.
- This has some new bug fixes. I'm calling it "server-maint" to differentiate it from "maint-server"
- Bugs Fixed
- SVC-6781: Duplicating old attachments does not copy attachment point/position/rotation info
- Some people may notice a slight improvement in regions with heavy object creationg/deletion. (Maestro claims he saw his object-creation benchmark speed up from 14 obj/sec to 17 obj/sec. Nothing was changed in object creation, however we did clean up object deletion, and Maestro's benchmark deletes objects as fast as they are created.)
- https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_Magnum/11
- LeTigre
- This got an updated maint-server branch but then had to be pulled back due to a bad LSL bug.
- main channel Kelly's "mono2-aware" branch was redeployed here.
- This branch paves the way for upgrading the Mono virtual machine that runs scripts in Second Life. This branch ensures that scripts continue to work as we upgrade.
- Blue Steel
- This was pulled from promotion because of a crasher.
- Same as before + a merge from trunk to contain Kelly's "mono2-aware" branch.
- Content Management projct + maint-server from trunk
- Updates to the updates to the IP management tools
- Fixed crash modes.

- [15:01] Oskar Linden: poor gooden keeps crashing
- [15:01] Fancy Greeter: Maestro Linden has arrived!
- [15:01] Gooden Uggla: whichever bug or viewer that's crashing SG 1.5 is really annoying
- [15:01] RedMokum Bravin: Maestro, music!
- [15:02] Gooden Uggla: afternoon oskar and everyone
- [15:02] Oskar Linden: how's your week been?
- [15:02] Ima Mechanique: think the wave got stuck
- [15:02] Latif Khalifa: yeah
- [15:03] Maestro Linden: mmm nevermind
- [15:03] Psi Merlin: Hi Oskar, Maestro, Log and Beta testers
- [15:03] Maestro Linden: hi guys
- [15:03] Eddi Decosta: heya there :)
- [15:03] Oskar Linden: here is the link to the agenda: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Server_Beta_User_Group
- [15:03] Eddi Decosta: hi Maestro :)
- [15:03] Eddi Decosta: hi Oskar!! :))
- [15:03] Oskar Linden: we had a fairly quiet morning until yesterday
- [15:04] Oskar Linden: the release of the mono2-aware branch seems to have gone off without a hitch
- [15:04] Fancy Greeter: Monty Linden has arrived!
- [15:04] Oskar Linden: nice round of applause for Kelly Linden/clap
- [15:04] Kelly Linden: I must not have tried hard enough.
- [15:04] Draconis Neurocam: yay kelly
- [15:04] Latif Khalifa: could someone delte that wave?
- [15:04] Latif Khalifa: lol tehKellz'
- [15:04] Oskar Linden: what wave?
- [15:04] Oskar Linden: ;-)
- [15:04] Ima Mechanique: the one stuck on the parcel edge
- [15:04] Latif Khalifa: tsunami wave that got stuck
- [15:05] Oskar Linden: what's next for mono2 kelly?
- [15:05] Latif Khalifa: to you right
- [15:05] RedMokum Bravin: Happy falling, Rex!
- [15:05] Kelly Linden: I went to delete it but it disappeared as soon as I clicked it.
- [15:05] Rex Cronon: hi redmokum. hi everybody
- [15:05] Latif Khalifa: -tehKellz' ah, that's ghosting prims
- [15:05] Kelly Linden: mono2 performance will get deployed to aditi soon - need to see where the mesh stuff is on pulling in the mono2 aware changes
- [15:05] Ima Mechanique: right-click and it poofs
- [15:05] RedMokum Bravin: Temp stuff that somehow still stays untill someone does "edit"?
- [15:05] Latif Khalifa: -tehKellz', now that prim is "ghosted"
- [15:06] Kelly Linden: neat
- [15:06] Latif Khalifa: happens a lot
- [15:06] Latif Khalifa: in the past couple of weeks or so
- [15:06] RedMokum Bravin: Not seen ghost prims in BlueSteel lately.
- [15:06] Oskar Linden: the BlueSteel Content Management branch was going to get promoted this week
- [15:06] Flip Idlemind: But?
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: but I filed a easily reproducible crasher
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: a new crasher
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: couldn't really justify promoting it after that
- [15:07] Gooden Uggla: ty ty oskar
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: using our FIFO process Kelly's branch got the nod
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: overall the bluesteel crash rate is low
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: so it is an obscure case
- [15:07] Oskar Linden: even still
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: magnum and bluesteel just got merges from trunk and redeployed
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: the only new code was on LeTigre
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: and that went really bad
- [15:08] Oskar Linden: we had to pull it like 2 hours later
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: there was a very cute LSL error that let scripts in listen range interact with each other without checking owner
- [15:09] Oskar Linden: or checking owner incorrectly
- [15:09] Maestro Linden: yeah, LeTigre had a bug in which llListen() was ignoring uuid filters
- [15:09] Gooden Uggla: ut oh
- [15:10] RedMokum Bravin: How come you noticed that so fast?
- [15:10] Maestro Linden: anyway, it's fixed on Aditi now
- [15:10] Rex Cronon: could they also hear themselves talking?
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: it broke some combat systems
- [15:10] Maestro Linden: nope, but it was as though the script was using NULL_KEY as the id filter
- [15:10] Gooden Uggla: i'm guessing someone lost a buncha lindens and complained
- [15:10] TankMaster Finesmith: a scripted hud would respond to anyone else putting in the commands to interact with it
- [15:10] Latif Khalifa: So Kelly did try hard enough there? :P
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: I like that though
- [15:10] TankMaster Finesmith: ie, 2 peopelle woththe same hud, onne would interact and both would listen
- [15:10] Oskar Linden: things break, people notice, people tell me, we fix it
- [15:11] Kelly Linden: I found and fixed it but didn't introduce it. this time.
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: :-D
- [15:11] Latif Khalifa: ;)
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: nice work kelly
- [15:11] Oskar Linden: so that made yesterday pretty exciting
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: those fixes should show up in letigre next week
- [15:12] Maestro Linden: you can try it out on Aditi now, too
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: hopefully the CM fixes will go into bluesteel if they can figure out why it's crashing
- [15:12] Maestro Linden: in the "DRTSIM-39" channel
- [15:12] Flip Idlemind: Now that the new community platform is out are we gonna get "Deploys for the week of..." blogs again (I like those :O)
- [15:12] Oskar Linden: yes FLIP. I'm getting there
- [15:13] Flip Idlemind: Yayy
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: Magnum is next up on the board for promotion next week
- [15:13] Maestro Linden: looking at the list of sims.. Skybeam is running DRTSIM-39 and I think that region is publically accessible on aditi
- [15:13] Oskar Linden: thanks maestro
- [15:13] Charlene Trudeau: :)
- [15:13] Latif Khalifa: when is the mono2 update coming? :)
- [15:14] Oskar Linden: still a little while off
- [15:14] Latif Khalifa: aw :(
- [15:14] Maestro Linden: we want to put mono2-performance on aditi for a bit
- [15:14] Latif Khalifa: who do we bribe/blackmail? :)
- [15:14] Flip Idlemind: The sim we're in now is running on "ER-393". Do we get to know what that is? Is it Emergency Room?
- [15:14] Charlene Trudeau: hehehe
- [15:14] Maestro Linden: but first we want to ensure that all the other sim channels have the mono2-aware code
- [15:14] Kelly Linden: er = engine room
- [15:14] Latif Khalifa: Maestro is doig it?
- [15:15] Maestro Linden: so that we don't have a bunch of false alarms with serialization errors, when a script moves from mono2-performance to an old region
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: there is a plan and method to this madness
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: even if it does not appear so
- [15:15] Maestro Linden: I think you may need to bribe falcon to do a fresh deploy of Mesh that includes the mono2-aware code :)
- [15:15] Oskar Linden: yeah what is with that?
- [15:15] Rex Cronon: so, what will be mono2 able to do?
- [15:15] Latif Khalifa: falcon, bah
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: the last mesh server update is from months ago
- [15:16] Latif Khalifa: he will do exact oposite
- [15:16] Fancy Greeter: Maestro Tester has arrived!
- [15:16] Latif Khalifa: Perhaps if I tell him, Falcon, please don't merge mono changes in ;)
- [15:16] Maestro Linden: Rex: it'll be pretty much the same, except with some performance optimizations
- [15:16] Rex Cronon: ok. thanks
- [15:16] Maestro Linden: so the 'mono sim freeze' effect should be reduced
- [15:16] Oskar Linden: I'll tell him latif
- [15:17] Kelly Linden: yeah the mono2 changes are primarily to address SVC-3895
- [15:17] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3895:
- [#SVC-3895] Rezzing Mono: scripted object cripples sim FPS
- [15:17] Latif Khalifa: oskar, the sim freeze plague could not get killed soon enough
- [15:18] Latif Khalifa: i hope all obstacles to mono2 upgrade get removed :)
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: we are right on the edge
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: won't be too much longer
- [15:18] TankMaster Finesmith: \o/
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: then you can find new bugs to tell us to fix for 2 years
- [15:18] Oskar Linden: :-D
- [15:18] Latif Khalifa: heh
- [15:18] Gooden Uggla: kelly will attain rockstar status when the sim freezes are gone
- [15:18] Latif Khalifa: like xmpp people going underground?
- [15:18] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: SVC-16000 "Mono2 is too fast, please make it freeze"
- [15:19] Gooden Uggla: dream on
- [15:19] TankMaster Finesmith: :P
- [15:19] RedMokum Bravin: wahaha
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: I never know
- [15:19] Latif Khalifa: what happeend with Gez and his crew
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: :-)
- [15:19] Oskar Linden: gez and his crew?
- [15:19] Jonathan Yap: The XMPP portal has been offline for quite some time
- [15:20] Monty Linden: GDC!
- [15:20] Latif Khalifa: gez, stone, inoshiro linden
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: oh I'll get to that
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: actually that is almost next
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: I was just going to point out the the new forums/blogs are live
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: I will start using those again soon
- [15:20] Oskar Linden: my whiteboard was fun and all....
- [15:20] Gooden Uggla: and short-lived...
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: we'll see how well this new Lithium thing works
- [15:21] Kadah CobaKadah: Coba doesn't like Lithium
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: and on the topic of XMPP
- [15:21] Kelly Linden: I'm liking it more than I liked the previous system.
- [15:21] Latif Khalifa: yeah, it's bettern than jive
- [15:21] Oskar Linden: we're close to getting a project vwr out for xmpp
- [15:21] Latif Khalifa: code tag suck though
- [15:21] Rex Cronon: i heard u can reach master lvl on the new forums? if and whenu reach that, what can u do with it?
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: but there is an infrastructure issue holding us back
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: the team was using aditi as a development environment
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: and it needs to be a beta environment
- [15:22] Kadah Coba: *Only* half of the new Lithium system doesn't work for me, so I guess that is an improvement :3
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: so that means we need an xmpp dev environment
- [15:22] Oskar Linden: and we don't have one handy
- [15:22] Latif Khalifa: parse error
- [15:22] Jonathan Yap: You mean they need their own grid?
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: we can't really run a sustained beta test if that is also the only place for devs to work
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: more or less Jonathan
- [15:23] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [15:23] Oskar Linden: we're working on it
- [15:23] Latif Khalifa: i thought they were happy with all the feedback and collaborative development
- [15:23] Latif Khalifa: that was going on here
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: yeah but it's not easy to run a live open beta in a dev environment
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: one that could break at any notice
- [15:24] Gooden Uggla: you could always try running this meeting in group chat with the project viewer
- [15:24] Maestro Linden: it wouldn't be fun to test in
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: like if agni was aditi
- [15:24] Draconis Neurocam: i would imagine more bugs would be found that way though
- [15:24] Latif Khalifa: i don't understand
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: you need a stable test environment
- [15:24] Latif Khalifa: what's concurrency like on aditi, 50?
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: or you can't get good bugs
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: aditi can handle more than that
- [15:24] Oskar Linden: vivox on aditi can't
- [15:25] Ima Mechanique: latif, Aditi moves too much for them, they need it to hold still so they can work. it's not about going private grid
- [15:25] Latif Khalifa: you still have to have a project viewer and to login to aditi
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: yes
- [15:25] Latif Khalifa: Ima, xmpp project involves no sim code changes
- [15:25] Gooden Uggla: vivox = string and 2 tin cans
- [15:25] Oskar Linden: it uses its own servers
- [15:25] Latif Khalifa: only 1 extra field in the login
- [15:25] Kadah Coba: Even if XMPP only works 50% of the time, thats still a 2000% improvement over the legacy system :P
- [15:26] Latif Khalifa: the rest of aditi sims is not touched
- [15:26] Oskar Linden: yes
- [15:26] Latif Khalifa: so how many people will there be affected
- [15:26] Latif Khalifa: 10 beta testers?
- [15:26] Oskar Linden: it will be transparent to existing aditi users
- [15:26] Ima Mechanique: latif, maybe not, but if the grid shutsdown when you've planned a test session you're screwed
- [15:26] Latif Khalifa: seems like an awful waste of resources
- [15:26] Oskar Linden: it seems like a very adequate setup to me
- [15:27] Oskar Linden: dev environment and beta environment separate
- [15:27] Latif Khalifa: oh well
- [15:27] Jonathan Yap: It sounds like xmpp will be back here very soon though
- [15:27] Monty Linden: devs do their own dev grid deploys at will.... very quick flip.
- [15:27] Latif Khalifa: you like to delay it even more, and recieve less beta testing
- [15:27] Latif Khalifa: go right ahead
- [15:27] Oskar Linden: :-)
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: if that's how you choose to perceive it
- [15:28] Jonathan Yap: I see the wiki already has a download page for an xmpp viewer
- [15:28] Jonathan Yap: the links point to nothing yet though
- [15:28] Latif Khalifa: yeah that's how i see it. extra spending for the sake of red tape
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: I am happy that they are taking the extra time to create a usable beta environment
- [15:28] Latif Khalifa: reducing the quality of the end product
- [15:28] Ima Mechanique: question is, will we also be able to access the xmpp beta grid to help test?
- [15:28] Oskar Linden: the end quality is not being reduced
- [15:28] Latif Khalifa: yes it is
- [15:28] Draconis Neurocam: ooh a starax wand
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: spped to deploy != quality
- [15:29] Latif Khalifa: iterative development == better quality
- [15:29] Latif Khalifa: big releases == fail'
- [15:29] Flip Idlemind: Everyone stop the madness! :O
- [15:29] Oskar Linden: iterative development on a development grid and regular deploys to a beta environment is a very sound strategy
- [15:29] Jonathan Yap: they were getting good feedback from us -- I hope they are back soon
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: breaking the beta environment every time you want to push out a test fix will slow testing more
- [15:30] Latif Khalifa: yes Jonatham, that's the sad part. Red tape
- [15:30] Monty Linden: I'm on the same scrum team as the xmpp folks, they'll be back soon.
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: it's not red tape
- [15:30] Latif Khalifa: kill good dev velocity for the sake of turf ;)
- [15:30] Oskar Linden: creating a usable dev and beta environment is good design
- [15:31] Jonathan Yap: so, when the project viewer comes out, where will we be testing it?
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: here on ADITI
- [15:31] Latif Khalifa: oskar, how did we get into this discussion?
- [15:31] Kelly Linden: It seems reasonable to me. I don't push every build I do up to aditi. I do several builds a day and it just doesn't make sense - it is much faster for me to work in private and verify my work then push out to QA and beta regularly when "ready"
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: you pulled us into it
- [15:31] Latif Khalifa: you saying there is a delay because of need to setup separate dev environment
- [15:31] Oskar Linden: but we can move on now
- [15:32] Latif Khalifa: so how can you claim red tape isn't slowing down the fix to group chat?
- [15:32] Oskar Linden: I appreciate your input and will pass them on to the team latif
- [15:32] Latif Khalifa: because it is
- [15:32] Oskar Linden: maestro, what new stuff do you have coming up?
- [15:33] Kadah Coba: Whats going on with "Hide URL"? Seems the release channel is always returning false, but some of the RCs are returning the set value.
- [15:33] Maestro Linden: hmm let's see.. there are some changes to make IM/L$/inventory transfer rules saner for avatars who are locked to private estates
- [15:33] Rex Cronon: so the xmpp viewer is to taste group chat? and only here on beta?
- [15:33] Jonathan Yap: hide url is being disabled, no more hiding
- [15:33] Oskar Linden: gez sends his love latif :-)
- [15:34] Maestro Linden: (some schools who have private islands/estates have their students locked to the estate to protect them from mainland hordes - these changes should just affect people who interact with such users)
- [15:34] Kadah Coba: I just wondering what channels that change is on, not seeing it on all atm.
- [15:34] Latif Khalifa: tell him people rejoice for the further delays to group chat fix ;)
- [15:34] Maestro Linden: there's also a nice performance improvement that went into this week's LeTigre
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: there "was"
- [15:35] Maestro Linden: Simon improved the performance of the server message builder
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: a nice performance improvement
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: :-D
- [15:35] Maestro Linden: it's still around, just not on letigre :)
- [15:35] Oskar Linden: next week
- [15:35] Maestro Linden: anyway, it packs messages better.
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: cool
- [15:36] Maestro Linden: the biggest improvement I saw was when I had an LSL script trigger a bunch of terse updates to an object (like move child prims around)
- [15:36] Gooden UgglaGooden: Uggla bows his head in silent rememberance of svc-5959 (again)
- [15:36] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5959:
- [#SVC-5959] Groups notices: sent to email do not identify sender
- [15:36] Maestro Linden: qualitatively, child prims appear to move ~2x faster
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: the full notes were here: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_LeTigre/11#11.03.01.222356
- [15:36] Oskar Linden: before the rollback
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: it had fixes for
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: SVC-1144
- [15:37] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1144:
- [#SVC-1144] replies to: offline emails can't contain unicode
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: SVC-5959
- [15:37] Maestro Linden: so it should be a noticeable improvement for anybody who uses llSetLinkPrimitiveParamsFast in a loop
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: SVC-671
- [15:37] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-671:
- [#SVC-671] Unable to: teleport to any region without being logged out., - on every teleport, every day for 2 months now.
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: SVC-6709
- [15:37] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-6709:
- [#SVC-6709] Delete objects: on owned land stopped working since recent server-updates.
- [15:37] Oskar Linden: and SVC-412
- [15:37] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-412:
- [#SVC-412] Include "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8" header in the messages forwarded from second life.
- [15:37] Latif Khalifa: Mastro, say a resizer?
- [15:37] Maestro Linden: also, group notices identify the sender
- [15:37] Gooden Uggla: and these fixes got m oved where?
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: to next week
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: because of the LSL bug
- [15:38] Monty Linden: crap... wanted to read about the perf improvements
- [15:38] Maestro Linden: hm, I think that would be a full object update, latif. there may be a performance improvement there too, but I'm not certain
- [15:38] Flip Idlemind: So next week's LeTigre will have this 2x prim param stuff?
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: yes
- [15:38] Flip Idlemind: Happy face
- [15:38] Oskar Linden: yes
- [15:38] TankMaster Finesmith: whats this?
- [15:38] Latif Khalifa: oh yeah, prim scale change triggers full object update, forgot that
- [15:39] Maestro Linden: yes Flip, I think it will return to LeTigre next week, with the llListen bugfix
- [15:39] Oskar Linden: and people say we don't lllisten()
- [15:40] Rex Cronon: do u filter:)
- [15:40] Kelly Linden: The gist is really that Simon drastically improved the efficiency of building some of our most frequently built messages. Terse updates (object positions) are a good example because it isn't doing very much besides building and sending the message, which is why you see the imrpovement maestro observed.
- [15:40] TankMaster Finesmith: ahh ok
- [15:41] Kadah Coba: When are accounts being synced to aditi? I was apparently synced this morning for the first time in a very long time and I haven't done anything in a couple weeks that should have caused that.
- [15:41] Kelly Linden: for most messages the time spent building the message isn't as significant a portion of the work.
- [15:41] Latif Khalifa: it surpises me that building pakets would be a performane bottleneck
- [15:41] Kelly Linden: Latif: I think it kind of surprised Simon too when he really discovered it.
- [15:42] Latif Khalifa: nice to see perfrmance improvements
- [15:42] Oskar Linden: Kadak, you changed your password
- [15:42] Kadah Coba: Yeah, like 2 and half weeks ago
- [15:42] Kadah Coba: Was just odd it got synced this morning :P
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: hmm
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: ambroff managed those scripts
- [15:43] Oskar Linden: I'll have to look into it
- [15:43] Kadah Coba: I though that the password resync was done nightly though
- [15:44] Maestro Linden: maybe it was failing to run for a while...
- [15:44] Latif Khalifa: make a jira and vote for it :P
- [15:44] Oskar Linden: I think all scripts ambroff set up stopped for 2 weeks to protest his leaving
- [15:44] Flip Idlemind: How stressful on the servers or whatever is it to do that? In other words, will I get yelled at if I change my password every week?
- [15:44] Latif Khalifa: while supplies last!
- [15:44] Kadah Coba: Maybe, I havent gotten a resync in over 6 months till now
- [15:44] Gooden Uggla: i'd bet it stopped with the web stuff going on
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: it's not a stress FLIP
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: and not tied to web stuff
- [15:45] Ima Mechanique: does creating a new avtar count as changing your password for that avatar?
- [15:45] Oskar Linden: yes
- [15:46] Oskar Linden: new accounts or accounts with changed passwords is the logic
- [15:46] Ima Mechanique: excellent
- [15:46] Oskar Linden: so Log, how are your things going?
- [15:46] Log Linden: Monty and I are working on QA
- [15:46] Oskar Linden: oh no

- [15:47] Oskar LindenOskar: Linden is always the last to get these memos
- [15:47] Coffee Maker: Thanks you, Have a nice day Gooden
- [15:47] Oskar Linden: remember what happened when we tried to clone Maestro?

- [15:47] Coffee Maker: Request accepted, Please wait..

- [15:49] Flip Idlemind: Whats with all the odd breakfast items
- [15:49] Oskar Linden: cool. we need some new graphs
- [15:49] Oskar Linden: someone toasted the region
- [15:50] TankMaster Finesmith: any words on disabeling the ability to hide streming media URLs serve side?
- [15:50] Oskar Linden: well, any hot topics people are dying to get into in our last ten minutes?
- [15:50] Oskar Linden: I don't know about that Tank
- [15:51] Latif Khalifa: that jira is misleading lol
- [15:52] Gooden Uggla: any progress with estate bans or DN ban evasion?
- [15:52] Latif Khalifa: there is a long time precident about not showing stuff in the viewer
- [15:52] Oskar Linden: I don't know of any Gooden
- [15:52] Kadah Coba: I've already found that the release channel server is always returning false for "Hide URL"
- [15:52] TankMaster Finesmith: Oz already stated the hide checkboxes are being removed in 2.6
- [15:52] Jonathan Yap: Hiding those urls was done so live music performers would not lose out on tips from people getting the url and leaving to play the stream in a 3rd party program
- [15:53] Flip Idlemind: Oh yeah I remember my question. Whats ER-393 (this sim's channel) / what does it have in it
- [15:53] Latif Khalifa: viewer hides all sorts of things, you cannot selet some object and see it's scale for example, the dimensions. that is also misleading according to the stadard in that jira
- [15:53] Latif Khalifa: or see all texture UUIDs
- [15:53] Latif Khalifa: or...
- [15:54] Coffee Maker: Request accepted, Please wait..

- [15:55] Rex Cronon: so eddi decosta is your coffee maker borked:)
- [15:56] Maestro Linden: Ah Flip, ER-393 is the internal Jira issue for the "limited to estate" avatar IM/L$/object transfer rules
- [15:56] Flip Idlemind: Aha, clever
- [15:56] Gooden Uggla: it sseems to be launching coffee wonderfully
- [15:56] Coffee Maker: Request accepted, Please wait..
- [15:56] Maestro Linden: so I doubt anybody here is interested in that
- [15:56] Oskar Linden: it makes it easier for us to test stuff if we make the channel name the name of the internal jira
- [15:56] Coffee Maker: Thanks you, Have a nice day Homeless
- [15:56] Coffee Maker: Request accepted, Please wait..
- [15:56] Rex Cronon: i have a little question. how do u guys feel about "disruptive tech"?

- [16:00] Maestro Linden: Latif: I'd be interested to hear if our recent changes to prim derezzing (now in 1 of the RC channels, lemme check which one..) is any better or worse in terms of 'ghosting' rates
- [16:01] Oskars Drag: Kart 1.2: 2.162964
- [16:01] Oskar Linden: sword
- [16:01] Maestro Linden: Second Life RC Magnum 11.03.01.222364 has the changes for derezzing

- [16:01] Latif Khalifa: Maestro, it seems a lot worse. Symtoms you delete object but it fails to derez. It vanishes when you right click on it, but remains ghosted (you can still collide with it)
- [16:01] Gooden Uggla: hell in a bottle? awesdome!
- [16:02] Maestro Linden: well, the server we're on now doesn't include changes from that branch
