  • [15:02] WolfPup Lowenhar: the inv refresh is done by a linden for you
  • [15:02] Flip Idlemind: There's a debug setting, "curlUseMultipleThreads", which when set to true (allegedly) fixes the "freeze every 2 seconds problem" but it's set to false by default because of crashes. But I've never crashed from it, so I keep it on true. So no lag :D
  • [15:02] Homeless: or you can change your password
  • [15:02] Maestro Linden: your inventory should be refreshed on Aditi if you change your password on Agni

  • [15:07] Coyot Linden: \o/
  • [15:07] Oskar Linden: there were only a few tweaks in here
  • [15:07] Oskar Linden: now it will be apparent what those changes were for
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: we were adding the ability for estates to determine premium accounts
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: we've had some plans to increase the benefit to premium accounts and this was one planned offering
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: right now it's only two things
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: exclusive gifts
  • [15:08] Motor Loon: interesting
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: and premium sandboxes
  • [15:08] Vincent Nacon: forget the gifts!
  • [15:08] Master Huldschinsky: is those in or still in works ? http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Featured-News/New-Premium-Membership-Features/ba-p/1076967
  • [15:08] Vincent Nacon: :P
  • [15:08] Oskar Linden: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Featured-News/New-Premium-Membership-Features/ba-p/1076967
  • [15:09] flyne Parx: Hello
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: and http://secondlife.com/destinations/premium/sandboxes
  • [15:09] Rex Cronon: hi
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: it's nice to be able to offer some more benefit to the premium accounts
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: but we needed some simulator and login changes first
  • [15:09] Motor Loon: Mabye Ill sign up again °͜°
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: now that they are in trunk we can chat about the offierings
  • [15:09] paula Mellow: great deal
  • [15:09] Oskar Linden: there are more details in that blog post
  • [15:10] Lares Carter: short question about main server: "Scripting maint-server" is gridwide by now, correct?
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: I'm excited about the premium sandboxes myself
  • [15:10] Latif Khalifa: all G rated, so not somewhere where I can build :P
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: running so many public sandboxes like I do the amount of griefing is overwhelming
  • [15:10] Maestro Linden: yes Lares
  • [15:10] Master Huldschinsky: oskar, will there be mature aND Adult sandbox for prenum ? i see only general ones
  • [15:10] WolfPup Lowenhar: that is all well and good for those that can afford to pay for SL
  • [15:10] Vincent Nacon: yeah but it may not take long for griefers signs up for premium as well
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: this is just the start
  • [15:10] Latif Khalifa: Do server RC sandboxes get much griefing?
  • [15:10] Oskar Linden: there will be more sandboxes
  • [15:10] Coyot LindenCoyot Linden leaves a "present" in Oskar's sandbox
  • [15:10] Rex Cronon: what do these premium sandboxes have to offer?
  • [15:11] Motor Loon: so you're saying Linden homes will now be called "premium sandboxes" ? °͜°
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: server RC sandboxes get a lot of griefing now
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: and it's hard to regulate it
  • [15:11] Fancy Greeter: Kelly Linden has arrived!
  • [15:11] paula Mellow: 72 a year isn't much...
  • [15:11] Motor Loon: (yaay kelly)
  • [15:11] Vincent Nacon: better to regulate by closed group
  • [15:11] Kadah Coba: Theres at least 20 more sandboxes with the new premium ones
  • [15:11] Lares Carter: okay, thanks maestro. so pre release documentation warnings should be removed on the wiki for the new functions? - those are what confused me.
  • [15:11] flyne Parx: It's a shame how one sandbox I literally can't go there without getting hit by a crasher prim... And quite a few times it /crashed my entire computer/... =\
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: having a closed group is great if someone can manage a closed group
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: that means me
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: adding and removing everyone
  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: it's a full time job
  • [15:11] Maestro Linden: yes I think that's correct, Lares
  • [15:12] flyne Parx: Or you could leave another person in charge to do so for you, could you not?
  • [15:12] flyne Parx: :D
  • [15:12] Fancy Greeter: Simon Linden has arrived!
  • [15:12] Maestro Linden: I believe llCastRay() is the only LSL wiki page that needs the awrning
  • [15:12] Maestro Linden: warning
  • [15:12] Oskar Linden: I'm not entirely certain what all the premium offerings team has in store in the coming months, but I believe they have more things coming
  • [15:12] Maestro Linden: hm though even that is released, just 'disabled'
  • [15:12] Jacky Scharf: Perhaps you must change the invites to the group. I see tooooooooo many ppl and only some hands of them are here in the OHs ...
  • [15:12] flyne Parx whispers: Question, why /isn't/ cast ray enable yet?
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: it was disabled
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: to let mesh ship on time
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: too many cooks in the kitchen kind of situation
  • [15:13] flyne Parx: What's wrong with it? o.O
  • [15:13] Maestro Linden: we have a channel on aditi now (in testing) with it enabled
  • [15:13] Maestro Linden: nothing
  • [15:13] Homeless: I hope thry raise the land allowance to get people out of their Linden homes and on to the mainland... it needs help
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: it was broken and had the potential to be more broken
  • [15:13] Vincent Nacon: but Oskar... just because you're adding and removing them so much, it only means you're not doing your job, being careful about who goes in. (but yes, I know it's not easy as I've tried and it was the best option so far)
  • [15:13] Oskar Linden: it had bugs
  • [15:13] flyne Parx: Sim breaking bugs I assume?
  • [15:13] Coyot Linden: Oskar, can I jump in here?
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: ok Coyot
  • [15:14] Kadah Coba: The Linden Home Sandboxes and free sofa werent much tbo, getting live support seems to be a bigger deal still
  • [15:14] Rex Cronon: now we need sekrt hand shake to enter sandboxes;)
  • [15:14] Coyot Linden: So, the problem is one of managing change
  • [15:14] Coyot Linden: If you have too many orthogonal changes in the same release
  • [15:14] Coyot Linden: it gets very hard to see where problems lie
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: yup
  • [15:14] Coyot Linden: so castray() waits for its own channel
  • [15:14] Coyot Linden: so that mesh bugs are mesh bugs
  • [15:14] Oskar Linden: castray is right around the corner
  • [15:15] Coyot Linden: and castray bugs are castray bugs
  • [15:15] flyne Parx: Heh.
  • [15:15] Sigma Avro: yeah!
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: now that mesh is out castray is on its way
  • [15:15] Coyot Linden: yep
  • [15:15] Vincent Nacon: bugs are bugs, yeah we know, get to the point! :P
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: even mesh was just 2 weeks ago
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: we're moving as fast as we can
  • [15:15] Flip Idlemind: And now we all want MORE
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: I know how many of youw ant castray
  • [15:15] Flip Idlemind: :D
  • [15:15] Oskar Linden: it's coming
  • [15:15] Rex Cronon: can u make castray puch holes in meshes:)
  • [15:15] Kadah Coba: llCrashRay()
  • [15:16] Rex Cronon: punch*
  • [15:16] Coyot Linden: heh, Evil
  • [15:16] Homeless: llcastray should be able to melt prims
  • [15:16] Oskar Linden: feature creep
  • [15:17] Latif Khalifa: you could remove some features, say PE :P
  • [15:17] Lucia Nightfire: better late than never
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: alright
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: BlueSteel is up next
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: BlueSteel has the same project it had on last week
  • [15:17] Oskar Linden: it's not a big channel and just contains a few fixes
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: I cuoldn't find any public jiras that got fixed in the process so I don't have any more info
  • [15:18] Vincent Nacon: don't make me punch you, Latif. We need that
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: no punching in my meetings
  • [15:18] Oskar Linden: unless it's punch with cookies
  • [15:18] Vincent Nacon: fine, kicking
  • [15:18] Coyot Linden: Not even a Falcon (Linden) punch?
  • [15:18] Vincent Nacon: wait what?
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: btw, we had the most amazing baileys and kahlua cupcakes this morning in the Seattle office
  • [15:19] Homeless: can we have punch with vodka?
  • [15:19] Flip Idlemind: Without ME? :O
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: Alexa Linden made them
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: and they were DIVINE
  • [15:19] paula Mellow: "wish you were here"
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: I'm probably intoxicated
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: sugar crash anytime now
  • [15:19] Grid Strom: lol.
  • [15:19] Coyot Linden: Alexa is divine all by herself
  • [15:19] Oskar Linden: yes sh is a doll
  • [15:19] Rex Cronon: now u hire lindens to cook cookies:)
  • [15:19] Flip Idlemind: "Sugar crash", that's what they'll call it when the sims go down
  • [15:19] Coyot Linden: hahah

  • [15:22] Maestro Linden: which enables llCastRay, and has some other bugfixes..
  • [15:22] Maestro Linden: like svc-34
  • [15:22] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-34] Right-clicking another Resident's moving object freezes it https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-34
  • [15:22] Object: Hello, Avatar!

  • [15:23] Vincent Nacon: what I still don't understand is why he mentioned punching with cookies....?
  • [15:23] Rex Cronon: so, others can no loger stop your car by selecting it?
  • [15:23] Maestro Linden: Kelly can explain the details, perhaps
  • [15:23] Liisa Runo: Kelly ius here, but he told us that you would look in to it

  • [15:23] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-34] Right-clicking another Resident's moving object freezes it https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-34
  • [15:23] Maestro Linden: * If a vehicle then selecting only freezes if selected by someone sitting on it, a god or the owner.
* Otherwise freezes if selected by:
* Object owner
* Anyone that has 'move' permission
* Any god
* Any estate manager/owner
* Anyone that could return the object
  • [15:24] Vincent Nacon: quick, find his other half on the main grid
  • [15:24] Kelly Linden: Yeah. Gonna change that.
  • [15:24] Coyot Linden: heh
  • [15:24] Maestro Linden: so it's a compromise
  • [15:24] Kelly Linden: Like maestro says. (since that is him quoting me)
  • [15:24] Motor Loon: wow... I love ya Maestro
  • [15:24] Maestro Linden: kelly did the work here :)
  • [15:24] Flip Idlemind: I think there are some less-than-legal viewers that "select" everything physical just to make them freeze
  • [15:24] Oskar Linden: ok. as long as I'll still be able to modify the results of snail races
  • [15:24] Flip Idlemind: So yay
  • [15:24] Motor LoonMotor Loon grabs a feel on Maestro's sexy leg
  • [15:24] flyne Parx: I like that 'right click freeze' glitch. :(
  • [15:24] Maestro Linden: anyway, this maint-server channel is "DRTSIM-92" on aditi
  • [15:24] Oskar Linden: whoa now motor
  • [15:25] Maestro Linden: so um, that's some stuff
  • [15:25] Motor Loon: sorry... had a lot of coffee °͜°
  • [15:25] Rex Cronon: finally races get better:)
  • [15:25] Maestro Linden: also there's a round of meshy bugfixes in another channel
  • [15:25] Kelly Linden: DRTSIM-92 is incomplete. There will be more added to it before it goes to RC
  • [15:25] Oskar Linden: that's pretty cool
  • [15:25] Oskar Linden: I didn't know we were working on that
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: timeline roughstimation kelly?
  • [15:26] Flip Idlemind: My money's on "soon"(tm)
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: that's my line
  • [15:26] Kelly Linden: None. Meastro got bored and wanted more to test so he grabbed an inprogress repo. :p
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: heh
  • [15:26] Flip Idlemind: And I stole it! Muahahaha
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: maestro is getting bored?
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: interesting
  • [15:26] flyne Parx: Hmm....
  • [15:26] Kelly Linden: I have no idea how. I need to make more bugs for him I guess.
  • [15:26] Oskar Linden: i'm sure we could get some help here
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: alright we can talk about Magnum now
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: last week we had a project for Magnum that failed deploy
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: Coyot do you want to go into details of that?
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: it is a tale of deep intrigue and mystery
  • [15:27] Oskar Linden: or failed merges
  • [15:27] flyne Parx: Or both? :D
  • [15:28] Oskar Linden: perhaps coyot is off fighting a fire
  • [15:28] Oskar Linden: that's basically what happened
  • [15:28] Coyot Linden: hang on
  • [15:28] Coyot Linden: I'm back
  • [15:28] flyne Parx: Wait, there was a fire? o.O
  • [15:28] Oskar Linden: I lvoe that mystery music
  • [15:28] Oskar Linden: :-D
  • [15:28] Motor Loon: Just the main server room... nothing important
  • [15:28] Coyot Linden: So basically, Magnum had a crasher in it
  • [15:28] flyne Parx: Oh, good.
  • [15:29] Coyot Linden: it is low frequency, so we are not re-rolling it
  • [15:29] Homeless: thick black smoke coming out of main server room?
  • [15:29] Coyot Linden: but it will not promote to main grid and
  • [15:29] Oskar Linden: the current magnum
  • [15:29] Coyot Linden: it will be on Magnum again next week
  • [15:29] Oskar Linden: I was talking about last weeks failed deploy
  • [15:29] Coyot Linden: with the fix
  • [15:29] Coyot Linden: oh
  • [15:29] Motor Loon: That why my magnum sims have been "flunky" lately?
  • [15:29] Coyot Linden: So, basically with the rollback
  • [15:29] flyne Parx: How many releases seem to have a new way of crashing sims?
  • [15:29] Coyot Linden: There was a merge failure
  • [15:30] Coyot Linden: that didn't bring in the latest code
  • [15:30] Oskar Linden: lack of code can cause errors too :-)
  • [15:30] Coyot Linden: as a result, the regions wouldn't restart
  • [15:30] Coyot Linden: after they were rolled
  • [15:30] Coyot Linden: we detected this in mid-roll
  • [15:30] Coyot Linden: halted the roll
  • [15:30] Coyot Linden: and then rolled trunk
  • [15:30] Coyot Linden: to Magnum
  • [15:30] Coyot Linden: So for that week, there was no
  • [15:31] Coyot Linden: test code in Magnum
  • [15:31] Coyot Linden: <EOF>
  • [15:31] flyne Parx: Awesome. :D
  • [15:31] Vincent Nacon: End of Fire?
  • [15:31] Coyot Linden: File
  • [15:31] Vincent Nacon: oh... :(
  • [15:31] Sigma Avro: failure
  • [15:31] Coyot Linden: My way of saying I'm done writing
  • [15:31] Oskar Linden: kk
  • [15:31] Vincent Nacon: you mean End of Line?
  • [15:32] Oskar Linden: nope
  • [15:32] flyne Parx: Worse has happened wtih deploys haven't they?<EOL>
  • [15:32] Vincent Nacon: ....*mumbles about a Tron-hater*
  • [15:32] Coyot Linden: Yes<EOL>
  • [15:32] Oskar Linden: yes<EOL>
  • [15:32] Oskar Linden: hah
  • [15:32] Flip Idlemind: Yeah one time they killed a bunch of horses :O
  • [15:32] Coyot Linden: haha
  • [15:32] Oskar Linden: no we almost killed a bunch of horses
  • [15:32] Oskar Linden: we saved them
  • [15:32] flyne Parx: What type of horses?
  • [15:32] Latif Khalifa: people trust automated merge software too much :P
  • [15:33] Coyot LindenCoyot Linden buys everyone tickets to "Equuis:
  • [15:33] Maestro Linden: ice skating horses
  • [15:33] Motor Loon: hm... not like the grid wouldnt have benefitted from less breedable hourses around
  • [15:33] arton Rotaru: you ride cowboys instead? :p
  • [15:33] Oskar Linden: so yeah Magnum has nothing noticeable in it.
  • [15:33] Flip Idlemind: Don't do merges when you're drunk on cupcakes
  • [15:33] Oskar Linden: drunkcakes
  • [15:33] Oskar Linden: maestro did youw ant to talk about andrew's script performance tweaks
  • [15:34] Maestro Linden: sure
  • [15:34] Maestro Linden: so, this region has some performance tweaks for LSL scripts
  • [15:34] Maestro Linden: which should hopefully speed up scripts in objects that read or write prim properties
  • [15:34] Maestro Linden: particularly in regions with a high number of prims
  • [15:34] flyne Parx: LSL compiled scripts? o.O
  • [15:34] Flip Idlemind: LSL and Mono
  • [15:35] flyne Parx: Ah.
  • [15:35] Maestro Linden: both, I believe
  • [15:35] Motor Loon: If you guys ever get bored, the "return objects by resident name" in region/estate menu, in my experience, could use a look-at... since its a wonderful feature ... if it works... which is rare.. in my experience...
  • [15:35] Sigma Avro: prim properties are read corectly ?
  • [15:35] Maestro Linden: so in most servers, if you do something like llGetColor() in a script
  • [15:35] flyne Parx: Hmm...would it increase the speed of HUD-based objects?
  • [15:36] flyne Parx: That are reading/writing prim properties?
  • [15:36] Maestro Linden: the server has to look at a list of all the objects in teh region, and search for the prim matching the task_id that the script is located in
  • [15:36] Homeless: ouch!
  • [15:36] Maestro Linden: both with andrew's change, this lookup is a lot faster
  • [15:36] Maestro Linden: some of you have already tested this a bit, right?
  • [15:36] Maestro Linden: (Andrew talked about it in his server OH)
  • [15:37] Flip Idlemind: Not a whole lot other than the 2 crash bugs I found and got paid for (sorry...had to mention it)
  • [15:37] flyne Parx: You can get paided to find crash bugs?
  • [15:37] Sigma Avro: I missed the point: how to read prim properties in a full sim by script ?
  • [15:37] Latif KhalifaLatif Khalifa always wondered if the server maintained uuid -> local id lookup table internally
  • [15:37] flyne Parx: paid*
  • [15:37] Maestro Linden: good job on getting the $$
  • [15:37] Oskar Linden: it depends, but yes Flyne
  • [15:37] Flip Idlemind: In this case Andrew offered L$20,000 per crash bug, and I found two :O
  • [15:38] Oskar Linden: if you find a definite crasher and can report it to us without letting all the griefers know we pay a bounty on that
  • [15:38] flyne Parx: Ah.
  • [15:38] Vincent Nacon: yeah it's faster but I noticed some drops over time
  • [15:38] Oskar Linden: same with Security issues
  • [15:38] Oskar Linden: if you find it first and file a SEC- jira you can get an L$50k bounty I think
  • [15:38] Vincent Nacon: I mean.... it's actually faster over time when script come to idle
  • [15:39] Oskar Linden: I forget how much it is
  • [15:39] Coyot Linden: -5L$
  • [15:39] Latif Khalifa: $10k for sec
  • [15:39] Oskar Linden: Soft handles that
  • [15:39] Vincent Nacon: don't mean it become faster soon as script become idle... I meant during its idle state
  • [15:39] Oskar Linden: my bad
  • [15:39] Kadah Coba: Meanwhile fixing the crashers them selves doesnt get a bounty
  • [15:39] Oskar Linden: L$10k :-p
  • [15:39] Latif Khalifa: if Soft remembers, and he doesn't remember much lately :P
  • [15:39] Oskar Linden: he's been handing them out
  • [15:40] Fancy Greeter: Maestro Linden has arrived!
  • [15:40] Oskar Linden: I'll take this moment to mention next weeks Holiday
  • [15:40] Oskar Linden: Lindens have Monday off for Labor Day
  • [15:40] Coyot Linden: \o/
  • [15:40] flyne Parx: Why do I feel like Fancy Greeter has a very simple script in it? :P
  • [15:40] Sigma Avro: wierd, for llGetColor() all prims are checked ?
  • [15:40] Oskar Linden: so, that means that the release schedule might be tweaked
  • [15:41] Oskar Linden: we won't know until tomorrow morning
  • [15:41] Oskar Linden: Friday morning is when we start getting things ready for the Monday release
  • [15:41] Oskar Linden: I will attempt to get the deploy notes updated tomorrow so people can plan around them
  • [15:41] Kadah Coba: I think the L$50K is only for "posted bounties" like finding the repro for a known crash
  • [15:41] Oskar Linden: I knew I should have taken this Friday off
  • [15:41] Coyot Linden: heh
  • [15:41] Coyot Linden: So, basically
  • [15:42] Oskar Linden: L$50k is for coming to Oskars house IRL and painting it
  • [15:42] Coyot Linden: we normally roll main grid on Tuesday
  • [15:42] Coyot Linden: and RCs on Wed
  • [15:42] flyne Parx: What are RCs?
  • [15:42] Coyot Linden: That may shift to Wed /Thurs
  • [15:42] Flip Idlemind: Release Candidates
  • [15:42] Latif Khalifa: RC Cola
  • [15:42] Oskar Linden: heh
  • [15:42] Coyot Linden: RCs: BlueSteel, LeTigre, Magnum
  • [15:42] Oskar Linden: my fav LAN party drink
  • [15:42] Vincent Nacon: Remote Controls
  • [15:42] flyne Parx: Ah
  • [15:42] Oskar Linden: RC Cola
  • [15:42] Latif Khalifa: :D
  • [15:43] Grid Strom: I have just have a simple question here. When would it be possible to have the Ability to change the prim physics shape type using llSetLinkPrimitiveParams?
  • [15:43] Oskar Linden: Hi Grid
  • [15:43] Grid Strom: hi :)
  • [15:43] Pagan Sunburn: Helloo!!
  • [15:43] flyne Parx: Can't you do that already?
  • [15:43] Motor Loon: HM... i miss lan parties... must be 15 years ago since I was last at one...
  • [15:43] Oskar Linden: Kelly, Maestro?
  • [15:43] Latif Khalifa: Grid. that would be kind of dangereous ;)
  • [15:43] Maestro Linden: oh, so that maint-server I mentioned earlier should let you set prim physics material settings (friction, gravity, density, restitution) via LSL
  • [15:44] Oskar Linden: that's cool
  • [15:44] Sigma Avro: good
  • [15:44] Motor Loon: Oh Grid, I've love that one
  • [15:44] Kelly Linden: I don't think it works yet.
  • [15:44] Maestro Linden: somebody needs to convince Falcon that having an LSL interface to set physics shape type is safe, though
  • [15:44] Latif Khalifa: it's not safe, considering PE kicks in
  • [15:44] Sigma Avro: becoming interesting
  • [15:44] flyne Parx: methinks that redicolously crazy physics shapes that lag things are already well possible to make...
  • [15:44] Motor Loon: Would do wonders for large vehicles, where you would like some parts to become "none shape" while its in use, and re-enable when "parked"
  • [15:45] Maestro Linden: well, llSetScale() has the same effect, in objects that use the new accounting
  • [15:45] Latif Khalifa: yeah
  • [15:45] Pagan Sunburn: o.o Oskar changed
  • [15:45] Oskar Linden: i changed?
  • [15:45] Latif Khalifa: Maestro, but llGetScalle() cannot trigger the new accounting
  • [15:45] Flip Idlemind: Looks the same to me
  • [15:45] Pagan Sunburn: Oh now, I see. You just have a shark onyour head.
  • [15:45] Oskar Linden: might be my shark face
  • [15:45] Maestro Linden: well, one of the mesh changes relates to PE and parcel autoreturn when a parcel's full
  • [15:45] Motor Loon: from agenda: Whats the current status on pivots for mesh? [Motor Loon]
  • [15:45] Coyot Linden: In ten seconds, the shark on top of your head is going to explode.
  • [15:45] Items successfully shared.
  • [15:46] Maestro Linden: the plan is to make it so that the last-changed object in a parcel is the first in line to be returned, when the parcel overflows
  • [15:46] Oskar Linden: I am a 9 second shark
  • [15:46] Oskar Linden: I am an 8 second shark
  • [15:46] Coyot Linden: ROFL
  • [15:46] Pagan SunburnPagan Sunburn facepaws >.<
  • [15:46] Lucia Nightfire: Is the ban ceiling for mainland going to be extended in next week's release or the week after?
  • [15:46] Pagan Sunburn: I better keep quiet on that one.
  • [15:46] Oskar Linden: that's a good idea maestro
  • [15:47] Object: Hello, Avatar!
  • [15:47] Latif Khalifa: oh, someone was asking me to ask when the new enroachment return capability is going to be turned on on the mainland
  • [15:47] flyne Parx: Hello, Object!
  • [15:47] Vincent Nacon: Hello Prim
  • [15:47] Pagan Sunburn: Helloo!!
  • [15:47] Lucia Nightfire: yes, encroachment return is much needed
  • [15:47] Oskar Linden: I don't know about the plan for mainland
  • [15:47] flyne Parx: Didn't that cause a /very/ bad hole in permissions when it was released previously? o.O
  • [15:48] Latif Khalifa: mainland is where it's most needed actually
  • [15:48] Latif Khalifa: fyne, the code is in there, and you can enable it on estates
  • [15:48] flyne Parx: Ah
  • [15:48] Motor Loon: hehe , more like the only place its really needed...
  • [15:48] Flip Idlemind: Oskar called a "nasty typo", bascially anyone could return anything. That was on BlueSteel, a long time ago
  • [15:48] Latif Khalifa: but governer linden hasn't on his estate
  • [15:48] Oskar Linden: I'll talk with support about that
  • [15:48] Sigma Avro: nah, in private sims it is also usefull
  • [15:49] flyne Parx: Yeah, I remember when tha thappened. xD
  • [15:49] flyne Parx: *that happened
  • [15:49] Maestro Linden: Motor, I know that some devs would like to see support for pivots in general, but I haven't heard of any concrete plan for that
  • [15:49] Motor Loon: yes, its a good feature... just kidding
  • [15:49] flyne Parx: It was then that I learned the TG had so many bleusteel sims..
  • [15:49] Motor Loon: ok Maestro
  • [15:49] Motor Loon: I could really use it in... well... 15-30 mins for a mesh project ?
  • [15:49] Motor Loon: °͜°
  • [15:49] flyne Parx: As over half that grid was /down/ while it was fixed IIRC...
  • [15:49] Oskar Linden: heh
  • [15:49] Motor Loon: ..I'll buy ya a beer if you make it
  • [15:50] Flip Idlemind: That's because BlueSteel was the first RC to be...idk, born?
  • [15:50] flyne Parx: Or when it was being rolled back. :P
  • [15:50] Latif Khalifa: Oskar, I'd appreciate if you could ask around about the status of enrouchment return enabling on the mainland :)
  • [15:50] Oskar Linden: each RC was made at the same time
  • [15:50] Lucia Nightfire: Andrew said in SVC-2900 he's extending the ban ceiling in the next few weeks did he happen to pass on a timeline?
  • [15:50] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-2900] Banned users can create and manipulate objects on the parcel they are banned from. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2900
  • [15:50] Maestro Linden: mm, ask Falcon (and bribe him with scotch)
  • [15:50] Vincent Nacon: what about punch drink?
  • [15:50] Motor Loon: uuh a scotch man eh
  • [15:50] Maestro Linden: I'd have to ask andrew about that, Lucia. He's afk at the moment
  • [15:50] Lucia Nightfire: ok
  • [15:50] Pagan Sunburn: rum and coke?
  • [15:51] Sigma Avro: dont get where the bug is there
  • [15:51] Maestro Linden: Lucia, that's in the mesh bugfix branch, apparently (just asked andrew now)
  • [15:52] Motor LoonMotor Loon hits "pause" and runs for coffee refill
  • [15:52] Sigma Avro: me too, hehe
  • [15:53] Oskar Linden: we've got 8 minutes left
  • [15:53] Oskar Linden: anything anyone else has to chat about?
  • [15:53] Vincent Nacon: ah yes, Avatar 2.0
  • [15:53] Oskar Linden: the movie?
  • [15:53] Maestro Linden: there are also some bugfixes for object entry in private parcels, so SVC-7201 and friends should be fixed
  • [15:53] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7201] receiving messages from Ozimal bunnies about not being allowed on my sim https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7201
  • [15:53] Maestro Linden: er, by "private" I mean access
  • [15:54] Vincent Nacon: I know avatar 2.0 is a big job and won't be happening any time soon
  • [15:54] Flip Idlemind: So I wanted to talk about this picture over here. It has a smiley face and an arrow (though you may have to zoom way in to see what the arrow's pointing to.) Basically it's a viewer-side countdown timer for region restarts. It uses the region restart notices but the problem with it is, if you enter a region that's already started the restart process, the countdown doesn't start until the viewer receives the first notice. So, would anyone be in favor of a (server-side) change where, if you enter a region that's about to restart, you receive a restart notice as soon as you arrive (as well as the regular ones)
  • [15:54] Motor Loon: Would be nice if you guys would allow object entry into a "full parcel" aslong as it was a physical vehicle with someone sitting on it...
  • [15:54] Motor Loon: hate flying around in an airplane and hittng those parcels
  • [15:54] Vincent Nacon: but for the best, have residents work together with the idea on the wiki I've created.
  • [15:54] Vincent Nacon: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Avatar_2.0
  • [15:54] Liisa Runo: The script error spam from Pagan's AO remind me about this: VWR-26016 (not viewer bug BTW)
  • [15:54] Flame of Jira: [#VWR-26016] Script error particle not displaying above agent when script error comes from a HUD https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-26016
  • [15:55] Pagan Sunburn: Yes. That would give everyone a chance to get out and not be caught off guard.
  • [15:55] Sigma Avro: if restarting can the sim be busy with sending messages ?
  • [15:55] Maestro Linden: It's supposed to already behave that way, Motor. Although there are issues in the cross-region case (which should hopefully be fixed sooner than later)
  • [15:55] Flip Idlemind: Yeah like if you enter, and there's like 12 seconds until restart
  • [15:55] Motor Loon: well, maestro I run into the problem several times a week in our estate
  • [15:56] Maestro Linden: hm is that when driving across 2 parcels in the same region?
  • [15:56] Sigma Avro: tks for link Vincent
  • [15:56] Lucia Nightfire: or maybe deny enter with less than 30 seconds on teh timer?
  • [15:56] Vincent Nacon: np
  • [15:56] Maestro Linden: there's a known bug introduced by mesh, SVC-7231 , btw
  • [15:56] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7231] Vehicles can no longer enter parcels with not enough prims to support the vehicle even when *not* crossing a sim boundry https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7231
  • [15:57] flyne Parx: Interesting.
  • [15:57] Maestro Linden: and the classic cross-region failure case is svc-22, I think
  • [15:57] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-22] Vehicles crossing region borders aren't always treated as vehicles and can get incorrectly returned if the destination parcel is no-entry or parcel-full https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-22
  • [15:57] Motor Loon: flying... not sure what you mean by "across 2 parcels".... but yes... I'd fly over our public parcel, then over some clients parcel, and suddenly my plane stops dead with the message "cant enter, parcel filled" or something in that general direction
  • [15:58] Motor Loon: not while crossing simborder
  • [15:58] Motor Loon: inside the sim already
  • [15:58] Maestro Linden: oh, if the parcel's full you're seeing SVC-7231
  • [15:58] Flame of Jira: [#SVC-7231] Vehicles can no longer enter parcels with not enough prims to support the vehicle even when *not* crossing a sim boundry https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7231
  • [15:58] Sigma Avro: vehicles should be handled by simulator only .. not by parcell
  • [15:58] flyne Parx: Do the lindens memorize the ID numbers for Jira things?
  • [15:58] Sigma Avro: lol
  • [15:58] Motor Loon: ah yes, that one
  • [15:59] Oskar Linden: too many numbers in my head
  • [15:59] Pagan Sunburn: *~*~rofl*~*~
  • [15:59] Oskar Linden: maestro can do it though
  • [15:59] flyne Parx: xD
  • [15:59] Maestro LindenMaestro Linden is covered in SVC tattoos to jog his memory
  • [15:59] Latif Khalifa: I can just imagine the million places in the code where PE is going to introduce much fun :P
  • [15:59] Pagan Sunburn: SOem people have a natural memory for that kind of stuff
  • [15:59] Lucia Nightfire: clocked out early
  • [15:59] flyne Parx: A simple question, do you think getting the script time via script will be fixed any time soon? I'm going with doubting it.
  • [16:00] flyne Parx: Given that it was only implemented recently in the first place as far as I know.
  • [16:00] Coyot Linden: FLIP, I just read scroll back and there may be a problem with your request
  • [16:00] Maestro Linden: fixed? is it broken?
  • [16:00] flyne Parx: Yes, actually.
  • [16:00] flyne Parx: If it was correct, the sim I was testing it in would have /half/ time dialation from script time alone.
  • [16:01] Coyot Linden: Basically, you could starve a sim from the roll by a steady stream of incoming avatars
  • [16:01] Maestro Linden: does it match what 'top scripts' shows?
  • [16:01] flyne Parx: I don't have that window, sadly.
  • [16:01] Maestro Linden: (it should be using the same underlying function)
  • [16:01] flyne Parx: I was using a friend's sim.
  • [16:01] flyne Parx: When I did further testing...I noticed that it appears to use some type of averaging
  • [16:01] Sigma Avro: you can ask him managers rights flyne
  • [16:01] Maestro Linden: ok, if you have a way to reproduce the failure (it sounds pretty easy), could you file a jira?
  • [16:01] Maestro Linden: yes it does average
  • [16:01] flyne Parx: Why?
  • [16:02] Oskar Linden: alright everyone
  • [16:02] Oskar Linden: thanks for coming
  • [16:02] Sigma Avro: to get the window with scripts
  • [16:02] Rex Cronon: tc everybody
  • [16:02] Grid Strom: bye all
  • [16:02] Maestro Linden: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/OBJECT_SCRIPT_TIME
  • [16:02] Motor Loon: thanks for letting us come, and for getting that stripper for the afterparty
  • [16:02] Maestro Linden: and oops, I see what Lares is takling about
  • [16:02] Sigma Avro: oh, Thanks Oskar Kelly Maestro Coyot and ...
  • [16:02] flyne Parx: (Well, actually said friend had numbers like that, I didn't. I thought there was already a Jira for it)
  • [16:02] Vincent Nacon: thanks all and if you know a skin developer, please pass them this link https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Avatar_2.0
  • [16:02] Sigma Avro: time runs
  • [16:02] Maestro Linden: it's not 'pre-release' anymore
  • [16:02] Oskar Linden: thanks everyone for coming today
  • [16:03] flyne Parx: Thanks. :D
  • [16:03] Latif Khalifa: thank you :)
  • [16:03] Oskar Linden: have a good weekend!
  • [16:03] Lares Carter: Thanks for the meeting :)
  • [16:03] Vincent Nacon: you too
  • [16:03] Sigma Avro: good idea Vincent, some joints remain a pitty, lol
  • [16:03] Jacky Scharf: Thx & tc everybody. ㋡
  • [16:03] Vincent Nacon: can't hurt to plan ahead
  • [16:03] Flip Idlemind: Roughly how many incoming avatars would be needed to "starve" a sim by receiving restart notices? (Estimation obviously)
  • [16:04] Coyot Linden: I don't think the number is the problem
  • [16:04] Coyot Linden: it is the flow
  • [16:04] Coyot Linden: Avatar enters
  • [16:04] flyne Parx: I need to do more testing, though I'm sure I can provide a reliae way of showing why its broken.
  • [16:04] Maestro Linden: ok
  • [16:04] Coyot Linden: sim stops shutting down to message avatar
  • [16:04] Coyot Linden: sim tries to go back to shut down
  • [16:04] Maestro Linden: thanks for looking into it
  • [16:04] flyne Parx: Mostly by showing that it returns numbers like 45 ms when doing the simpliest of things.
  • [16:04] Coyot Linden: new avatar enters
  • [16:04] Coyot Linden: etcs.
