  • [15:11] Oskar Linden: so like for example if there are no credit card transactions for 15 minutes a bunch of people get emailed

  • [15:14] Caleb Linden: oh, for ghosting, i had our engineer spin up a debug build
  • [15:15] Caleb Linden: that added additional lag time to cancel region crossing within 10 seconds

  • [15:17] Caleb Linden: anyways, that part of testing is done. today, we had 40 avatar bots crossing the region as part of a stress test

  • [15:18] Jonathan Yap: Is most of crossing time involved with wrapping up scripts and starting them in the new location?
  • [15:18] Caleb Linden: let me pull up the numbers of the average crossing time, and average fps
  • [15:19] Caleb Linden: so for now we have the baseline of server-trunk to server-trunk crossing: crossing time 522.29 ms, fps 19.445

  • [15:37] Kris Spade: Say you create an epic game envirnment in SL, some next level thing using the Linden Realms technology forthcoming, however you game is obsticle based..... It is unfair and would be cheating if people could simply teleport their friends there

  • [15:37] Kris Spade: As it stands right now, if you do not allow direct teleports in the estate settings, and have a telehub, you can direct teleport a friend anyway

  • [15:38] Kris Spade: So say it took you 2 hours to get to the epic castle of doom to battle the final boss, and claim your prize/reward/experience/whatever, you could just teleport your friend there.

  • [15:38] Oskar Linden: so in the Linden Realms regions now you can tp lure anyone to any point in the game?
  • [15:39] SonicAnd Miles: i think what he is saying is in a sim setup like a game, you want people to start in the begining of the game, not have a friend TP a new person to the sim half way through... if that makes since :)

  • [15:39] Kris Spade: When I was there last, yes. But I see the issue as fixed in the JIRA so Linden Realms may now have that new server version

  • [15:40] Kallista Destiny: this breaks existing conditions, It Violates the Principle of least surprise.
  • [15:41] Kallista Destiny: Most people expect teleport to override landing point/Telehum.
  • [15:41] Oskar Linden: it's listed in the notes as being fixed in the RC's
  • [15:41] Kris Spade: So basically the resolution was to not allow this to happen if Allow DIrect Teleports is unchecked in the estate settings
  • [15:41] Jonathan Yap: I don't think landing points are the same as telehubs -- telehubs are pretty rare

  • [15:41] Oskar Linden: any BlueSteel, LeTigre, or Magnum region should have the SVC-7443 fix
