[2014/04/17 15:00] Kallista Destiny: Hi Caleb, Maestro
[2014/04/17 15:00] Maestro Linden: howdy
[2014/04/17 15:00] Yuzuru Jewell: Hello, Maestro.
[2014/04/17 15:00] Jenna Felton: i also had a big problem to come here because of the summer and winter times... that not changed internationally :)
[2014/04/17 15:00] Whirly Fizzle: Heya Maestro & Caleb
[2014/04/17 15:01] Inara Breen: Hi, Caleb, Maestro!
[2014/04/17 15:02] rcdsQueChatLog: Yuzuru Jewell, you can read the log here:
 http://rcds.nfshost.com/ques_view_chatLog.php?queOwner=llsl%3ARex+Cronon&queName=chatLog&pg=1
[2014/04/17 15:02] Jenna Felton: hi Maestro :)
[2014/04/17 15:02] Whirly Fizzle: Is there any group chat testing today?
[2014/04/17 15:02] Maestro Linden: Nope, not today
[2014/04/17 15:02] Whirly Fizzle: Oki ta
[2014/04/17 15:02] Maestro Linden: Simon has out this week, and I think we got enough data last time anyway
[2014/04/17 15:03] Yuzuru Jewell: Hello, Rex.
[2014/04/17 15:03] Rex Cronon: hi yuzuru
[2014/04/17 15:03] Rex Cronon: hi everybody
[2014/04/17 15:04] Harok Laval: hi
[2014/04/17 15:04] Rex Cronon: hi harok
[2014/04/17 15:04] Jenna Felton: hi Rex, Harok
[2014/04/17 15:04] Harok Laval: Hi Rex
[2014/04/17 15:05] Maestro Linden: Okay, let's get started: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Server_Beta_User_Group#Agenda
[2014/04/17 15:05] rcdsQueChatLog: Rex Cronon, you can read the log here:
 http://rcds.nfshost.com/ques_view_chatLog.php?queOwner=llsl%3ARex+Cronon&queName=chatLog&pg=1
[2014/04/17 15:05] Rex Cronon: today didn't have time to clean the log so this will be added at end of what was discussed at simon'sgroup meeting
[2014/04/17 15:05] Rex Cronon: hi jenna
[2014/04/17 15:05] Maestro Linden: We don't have a whole lot lined up in terms of topics
[2014/04/17 15:06] Maestro Linden: so let's get through the updates and move to an open floor
[2014/04/17 15:06] Maestro Linden: the only server update this week was to Magnum,
[2014/04/17 15:06] Maestro Linden: which got a new maintenance RC update
[2014/04/17 15:07] Maestro Linden: it addresses some crash modes, and also should fix "llTeleportAgent() and llTeleportAgentGlobalCoords() can break any script in any attached object that contains a change event." (BUG-5533)
[2014/04/17 15:07] Maestro Linden: unfortunately, after the roll we discovered that there was a regression in the Magnum update
[2014/04/17 15:07] Maestro Linden: which was BUG-5763 "AGENT_MOUSELOOK flag is often incorrect when llGetAgentInfo() is called within control() event"
[2014/04/17 15:08] Maestro Linden: which apparently affects certain guns (which only allow some actions when they think you're in mouselook) and certain vehicles (which change control behavior when they think you're in mouselook)
[2014/04/17 15:08] Maestro Linden: the good news is that kelly came up with a fix for it yesterday, which is out on aditi now
[2014/04/17 15:08] Maestro Linden: I gave it a whirl, and it looks like this bug is fixed
[2014/04/17 15:09] Maestro Linden: But if you have content that was broken by that bug, I'd encourage you to test it out on Aditi, in case there are any additional problems
[2014/04/17 15:10] Maestro Linden: the beta user group wiki has details about which regions have the fix
[2014/04/17 15:10] rcdsQueChatLog: Lucia Nightfire, you can read the log here:
 http://rcds.nfshost.com/ques_view_chatLog.php?queOwner=llsl%3ARex+Cronon&queName=chatLog&pg=1
[2014/04/17 15:10] Maestro Linden: on the same topic, I just noticed that Jenna added a note:
[2014/04/17 15:10] Maestro Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Server_Beta_User_Group#Any_Other_Items
[2014/04/17 15:11] Jenna Felton: sorry, put that very recently :)
[2014/04/17 15:11] Lucia Nightfire: Rex you didn't clear teh queue
[2014/04/17 15:11] Maestro Linden: no worries
[2014/04/17 15:11] Maestro Linden: I've been caught editing the agenda after we've started, in the past :)
[2014/04/17 15:12] Maestro Linden: when did you do that testing, Jenna? was it today?
[2014/04/17 15:12] Jenna Felton: that was yesterday and today
[2014/04/17 15:12] Whirly Fizzle: Hmm Lucia, didn't you test that fix on FS too?
[2014/04/17 15:12] Jenna Felton: i think about 3 hours ago, today
[2014/04/17 15:12] Maestro Linden: okay, I'm curious because we updated DRTSIM-251 to fix that mouselook bug ~20 hours ago
[2014/04/17 15:12] Maestro Linden: cool, then you were testing against the latest server version
[2014/04/17 15:13] Lucia Nightfire: I tested it, but not on aditi
[2014/04/17 15:13] Lucia Nightfire: I tested the tp fix on aditi
[2014/04/17 15:13] Lucia Nightfire: but not on agni, heh
[2014/04/17 15:13] Lucia Nightfire: been dealign with griefers every friggin day for teh last week
[2014/04/17 15:14] Lucia Nightfire: haven't had much time to play
[2014/04/17 15:15] Rex Cronon: didn't have time lucia. it will be3 added to end anyway
[2014/04/17 15:15] Maestro Linden: I wonder what's going on with Firestorm in your note, Jenna
[2014/04/17 15:15] Whirly Fizzle: Ill have a try on FS after this meeting too
[2014/04/17 15:15] Maestro Linden: that seems.. interesting to me if the issue never happens in the official release viewer
[2014/04/17 15:15] Jenna Felton: i thik that should all TPV viewer developer test
[2014/04/17 15:16] Jenna Felton: Firestorm is just one of TPV that can be affected.
[2014/04/17 15:16] Whirly Fizzle: TP's shouldn't behave any differently to the official viewer though tbh.
[2014/04/17 15:16] Jenna Felton: i can repeat the test after the meeting, it takes a few clicks :)
[2014/04/17 15:16] Whirly Fizzle: I'll try too
[2014/04/17 15:16] Whirly Fizzle: Youre on 4.5.1 not 4.6.1?
[2014/04/17 15:17] Jenna Felton: 4.6.1
[2014/04/17 15:17] Whirly Fizzle: oki
[2014/04/17 15:17] Jenna Felton: installed extra to test with the newest, to see if the problem is gone
[2014/04/17 15:18] Maestro Linden: thanks for looking into this
[2014/04/17 15:19] Whirly Fizzle: Hmm did you have RLV enabled on FS?
[2014/04/17 15:19] Jenna Felton: very welcome, Maestro
[2014/04/17 15:19] Jenna Felton: yes i am in RLV mode
[2014/04/17 15:19] Jenna Felton: i can try without it
[2014/04/17 15:19] Jenna Felton: but the restrictions list is empty
[2014/04/17 15:20] Jenna Felton: should i probably save also the viewer log?
[2014/04/17 15:21] Maestro Linden: trying firestorm with RLV off (to be more similar to the LL viewer) would be a good data point, if RLV interacts with TP behavior
[2014/04/17 15:21] Whirly Fizzle: OOps got disconnected
[2014/04/17 15:22] Jenna Felton: wb Whirly
[2014/04/17 15:22] Rex Cronon: wb
[2014/04/17 15:22] Jenna Felton: than i need relog.. not thought about RLV, thank you for pointing that out :)
[2014/04/17 15:23] Whirly Fizzle: Well, it shouldn't interact with TP behaviour unless you're under restrictions for that but worth a test.
[2014/04/17 15:24] Maestro Linden: to answer your question, Jenna, the viewer log may have good information about why the TP failed
[2014/04/17 15:26] Maestro Linden: unless somebody finds a nasty bug in Aditi/DRTSIM-251, I predict next week's server updates will look like so:
[2014/04/17 15:26] Maestro Linden: * no change on main channel or bluesteel/letigre
[2014/04/17 15:26] Maestro Linden: * magnum updated to include that LSL mouselook bug fix from Kelly
[2014/04/17 15:27] Maestro Linden: and we may additionally test the group chat changes from simon on part of Agni
[2014/04/17 15:28] Jenna Felton: the last would give a much larger input, than Simon will be out much longer
[2014/04/17 15:28] Margithe: /me perks up " I've missed the last months meetings, and suddenly there's group chat changes???"
[2014/04/17 15:28] Sins TP script: Hello, Avatar!
[2014/04/17 15:28] Maestro Linden: since the group chat changes are in the backend service, this would mean that some (around 1/16 of) groups would be on the group chat stuff
[2014/04/17 15:29] Maestro Linden: Yes, some performance improvements, margithe
[2014/04/17 15:29] Rex Cronon: some group chat testing in this sim was done in recent weeks ....
[2014/04/17 15:29] Maestro Linden: we had some tests during the past few weeks of this meeting
[2014/04/17 15:29] Margithe: major, minor?
[2014/04/17 15:30] Maestro Linden: Hm, I would call the changes 'optimizations'
[2014/04/17 15:30] Margithe: Alright. Thanks for the info :)
[2014/04/17 15:30] Object: Hello, Avatar!
[2014/04/17 15:31] Maestro Linden: I also missed the user group meetings a few weeks ago
[2014/04/17 15:31] Object: Hello, Avatar!
[2014/04/17 15:31] Maestro Linden: but Simon probably elaborated on some of the changes
[2014/04/17 15:31] Object: Hello, Avatar!
[2014/04/17 15:32] Margithe: These meeting are really not europ friendly, why i can't come anymore :/
[2014/04/17 15:32] Margithe: euro*
[2014/04/17 15:32] Maestro Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta_Server_Office_Hours/Minutes/2014-03-27
[2014/04/17 15:33] Rex Cronon: u don't have acomputer to run the viewer?
[2014/04/17 15:33] Nalates Urriah: Margithe, Inara and I both write reviews of the meeting on our blogs.
[2014/04/17 15:33] Maestro Linden: Hm, or was the 03-20 meeting more informative?
[2014/04/17 15:33] Kennylex Luckless: Yes... very late here
[2014/04/17 15:34] Rex Cronon: and i stream the text chat live here: http://rcds.nfshost.com/ques_view_chatLog.php?queOwner=llsl:Rex+Cronon&queName=chatLog&pg=1
[2014/04/17 15:34] Maestro Linden: and either early for Yuzuru or very very late :)
[2014/04/17 15:35] Yuzuru Jewell: Now 7:34AM
[2014/04/17 15:35] Yuzuru Jewell: early morning :D
[2014/04/17 15:36] Jenna Felton: Its a midnight here (12:35 am) but i am somehow glad we are not living on a plate :) that makes it more interesting
[2014/04/17 15:37] Yuzuru Jewell: It is fun for me!
[2014/04/17 15:37] Margithe: "Sorry kids, but your teacher is late because she was in a meeting in a computer game last night"
[2014/04/17 15:37] Kennylex Luckless: 00:36 here in real time.
[2014/04/17 15:37] Margithe: ;)
[2014/04/17 15:37] Jenna Felton: lol
[2014/04/17 15:37] Jenna Felton: a meeting makes a game to not a game :)
[2014/04/17 15:38] Lucia Nightfire: "Thats ok teach, we were all up late playing COD anyway."
[2014/04/17 15:38] Rex Cronon: there is something else i have. i scripted thing that u can tell it what to say in public chat from a web page...
[2014/04/17 15:38] Rex Cronon: a scripted*
[2014/04/17 15:39] Rex Cronon: u also need an i to talk in your place:)
[2014/04/17 15:39] Rex Cronon: an AI*
[2014/04/17 15:39] Rex Cronon: just kidding about the AI:)
[2014/04/17 15:40] Maestro Linden: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-27052773
[2014/04/17 15:40] Maestro Linden: take a secret nap :)
[2014/04/17 15:41] Kennylex Luckless: SL is a game and RL a theater, reality is just virtual and C++ not an actual language... it is late here and I need to go to bed before my brain get poetical.
[2014/04/17 15:41] Margithe: Hahahaha... that would fool a Uni professor, but not a kid that pulls your arm and screams.
[2014/04/17 15:41] Rex Cronon: so if that guy passes a hot girl it start winking like crazy:)
[2014/04/17 15:41] Maestro Linden: hopefully there aren't any bugs with that
[2014/04/17 15:41] Lucia Nightfire: the hacks would be funny
[2014/04/17 15:41] Maestro Linden: don't want to start winking at the wrong things :)
[2014/04/17 15:42] Kennylex Luckless: Ni ni all green and blue dots on my mini-map, see you.
[2014/04/17 15:42] Maestro Linden: goodnight Kenny
[2014/04/17 15:42] Rex Cronon: tc
[2014/04/17 15:42] Jenna Felton: good night Kenny
[2014/04/17 15:43] Lucia Nightfire: whats coming down that pipe
[2014/04/17 15:43] Lucia Nightfire: this has been a slow year so far for shineys,
[2014/04/17 15:44] Lucia Nightfire: Lucy is impatient, lol
[2014/04/17 15:44] Margithe: from the chat logs, it looks like there were still lot of bugs to the chat improvements. it's shipping-ready now?
[2014/04/17 15:44] Maestro Linden: Hm, we've been doing a lot of invisible updates recently
[2014/04/17 15:44] Rex Cronon: btw. is something bork with lsl scripts that act as servers?
[2014/04/17 15:44] Maestro Linden: 'infrastructure improvements'
[2014/04/17 15:44] Rex Cronon: because i have one that i suddenly can't contact from outside
[2014/04/17 15:45] Maestro Linden: Well, I need to talk to Simon when he comes back, Margithe
[2014/04/17 15:45] Maestro Linden: but the standard for this update is just whether it's better than what's currently out there
[2014/04/17 15:46] Margithe: will it be announced officialy when it's on Agni?
[2014/04/17 15:46] Maestro Linden: Rex, I believe there's a known issue where an http-in script can 'lose' its URL, if something bad happens to the server
[2014/04/17 15:47] Margithe: hm, or nm, i'll start clinging to Inaras blog XD
[2014/04/17 15:47] Maestro Linden: I think we should mention the changes somewhere, just so people are aware of changes
[2014/04/17 15:47] Rex Cronon: i think i heard about that. i thought was fixed
[2014/04/17 15:47] Maestro Linden: I don't remember outstanding issues from last week's test
[2014/04/17 15:48] Maestro Linden: perhaps the issues were from an earlier version?
[2014/04/17 15:48] Lucia Nightfire: random url loss and instability is common esp after the http changes
[2014/04/17 15:49] Lucia Nightfire: I've had to change http protocol and add heartbeats to some apps since the http changes
[2014/04/17 15:49] Rex Cronon: i guess i will have to make it ping itself every 5 minutes ...
[2014/04/17 15:51] Rex Cronon: if that would would have no bugs than it would be possible for people to make their own websites using lsl:)
[2014/04/17 15:51] Maestro Linden: the bug is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-2564 (which is restricted access, unfortunately)
[2014/04/17 15:52] Maestro Linden: well, that's one case, in which all http-in URLs and all capability URLs for connected users are dropped simultaneously
[2014/04/17 15:52] Lucia Nightfire: yeah, that sux too, lol
[2014/04/17 15:52] Maestro Linden: and then all the connected users get logged out, and http-in scripts cannot be contacted
[2014/04/17 15:53] Lucia Nightfire: sometimes after I crash then relog into a region, its like my caps are reset and re-evaled and in-turn all my http devices all of a sudden cannot request urls until the caps are reset or wth it is
[2014/04/17 15:53] Lucia Nightfire: repeat url request failure
[2014/04/17 15:54] Rex Cronon: very weird
[2014/04/17 15:54] Lucia Nightfire: long story short, if your viewer crashes, don't log into your home region if you have servers there
[2014/04/17 15:54] Maestro Linden: hm, that might be part of the server crashing
[2014/04/17 15:54] Lucia Nightfire: or you risk interruption
[2014/04/17 15:55] Maestro Linden: it doesn't make sense to me that specifically your http-in servers would be affected by your viewer
[2014/04/17 15:55] Lucia Nightfire: they're affected by my caps
[2014/04/17 15:55] Rex Cronon: btw. imo lsl nees librarie. too many functions. if u put them in categories and load only what u need than scripts use less memory
[2014/04/17 15:55] Lucia Nightfire: which I assume get screwed up dependign on how my viewer closed or if I was stuck in another lagged out or crashign region
[2014/04/17 15:55] Rex Cronon: needs libraries*
[2014/04/17 15:55] Jenna Felton: that is a cool idea Rex
[2014/04/17 15:56] Lucia Nightfire: it only happens when a region I was in gets crashed by a griefer
[2014/04/17 15:56] Lucia Nightfire: and I timeout
[2014/04/17 15:56] Jenna Felton: probably not. depends on if the not used functions are also load by default
[2014/04/17 15:57] Maestro Linden: are you sure that if you don't return to the region soon afterwards, your http-in servers are okay, Lucia?
[2014/04/17 15:57] Jenna Felton: but a library to load, sounds interesting anyways
[2014/04/17 15:57] Lucia Nightfire: right they do
[2014/04/17 15:57] Lucia Nightfire: the problem is the login to taht region, heh
[2014/04/17 15:57] Rex Cronon: :)
[2014/04/17 15:57] Lucia Nightfire: after a crash from a crashed region
[2014/04/17 15:58] Rex Cronon: lucia. r u talking about things that attached to u?
[2014/04/17 15:58] Lucia Nightfire: now
[2014/04/17 15:58] Lucia Nightfire: *no
[2014/04/17 15:58] Lucia Nightfire: rezzed servers
[2014/04/17 15:58] Lucia Nightfire: http in and out
[2014/04/17 15:59] Jenna Felton: that could be tested. when you crash, try to reach the servers from web, and then login there and try to reach servers again
[2014/04/17 15:59] Lucia Nightfire: its like all the existing url's become invalidated so it requests new url's which fail until I leave and return
[2014/04/17 16:00] Margithe: /me wishes everyone a happy zombie holiday and good night !
[2014/04/17 16:01] Rex Cronon: tc
[2014/04/17 16:01] Lucia Nightfire: looks forward to the shineys whenever they get here, heh
[2014/04/17 16:01] Maestro Linden: Yeah, Jenna. I wonder if forcing a viewer crash (using 'force bad memory access') would suffice
[2014/04/17 16:02] Maestro Linden: anyway, time is in fact up
[2014/04/17 16:02] Maestro Linden: thanks for coming everybody!
[2014/04/17 16:02] Rex Cronon: interesting. how can i crash myself that way?
[2014/04/17 16:02] Yuzuru Jewell: Thank you, Maestro.
[2014/04/17 16:02] Nalates Urriah: Thx
[2014/04/17 16:02] Whirly Fizzle: Ty Lindens
[2014/04/17 16:02] Maestro Linden: Develop -> Force an Error , Rex
[2014/04/17 16:02] Yuzuru Jewell: Thank you, Caleb.
[2014/04/17 16:02] Whirly Fizzle: Develop -> Force an error Rex
[2014/04/17 16:03] Whirly Fizzle: lol
[2014/04/17 16:03] Rex Cronon: thank u:)
[2014/04/17 16:03] Rex Cronon: tc maestor
[2014/04/17 16:03] Maestro Linden: 'bad memory access' is the one I like to use, but I guess whirly's works as well
[2014/04/17 16:03] Jenna Felton: thank you Lindens and all, have a great weekend and happy Eastern too :)
[2014/04/17 16:03] Maestro Linden: you too!
[2014/04/17 16:03] Rex Cronon: maestro*
[2014/04/17 16:03] Whirly Fizzle: CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+B works fine :D
[2014/04/17 16:03] Rex Cronon: tc everybody and have a nice day:)
