A component of an Avatar; shape, skin, hair, eyes, and/or prim attachments are Body Parts that combine to create an Avatar’s form. Different body parts can be created and saved to a user’s inventor

A body part is an inventory item and a required component of an avatar. There are four types of body parts:

  • Shape
  • Skin
  • Hair
  • Eyes

Since they are required, they may be replaced but not removed (i.e., an avatar will always have exactly one of these "worn").

Clothing and attachments (attached objects) are also components of an avatar (and can sometimes be used in place of or in addition to a body parts for a specific affects), however they are not required and may be removed.
