- [12:02] Gigs Taggart: hi aric
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: hey Aric :)
- [12:03] Aric Linden: Heya Gigs and Alexa
- [12:03] Aric Linden: how is everyone?
- [12:03] Aric Linden: is got linden plague
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: Ossm
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: ack!
- [12:04] Gigs Taggart: I tried making a PRNG like that in LSL, they all wound up having short perodicity
- [12:04] Squirrel Wood: Me? Fine except that I cannot get this thing to generate real perlin noise :p
- [12:04] Gigs Taggart: try recording the first 10 values it outputs, and then searching for those in the stream
- [12:04] Aric Linden: I can't decide whether I'm too cold or overdressed.
- [12:05] Aric Linden: should we start?
- [12:05] Gigs Taggart: yes
- [12:05] Aric Linden: kk
- [12:05] Aric Linden: VWR-3590
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: ?
- [12:06] Gigs Taggart: are you using the agenda?
- [12:06] Aric Linden: yes, but I may need to refresh it please hold
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: holds
- [12:06] Gigs Taggart: make sure the date is right
- [12:06] Rob Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_Triage/2007-12-10
- [12:07] Thraxis Epsilon: Well this is going to screw with my client connection
- [12:07] Aric Linden: sorry. I brought it up earlier today before you updated.
- [12:07] Aric Linden: Thanks Gigs
- [12:07] Gigs Taggart: np
- [12:08] Gigs Taggart: yeah last minute agenda today
- [12:08] Aric Linden: so vwr-3561 should be right, yah?
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:08] Gigs Taggart: my alarm went off and I noticed no one made it :P
- [12:08] Aric Linden: I count on you :-)
- [12:09] Gigs Taggart: I'm going to make some canned searched on sljirastats
- [12:09] Gigs Taggart: so agenda makign should get easier
- [12:09] Aric Linden: um, I looked at 3561 last week in conjunction with the issue discussed by Torley
- [12:09] Aric Linden: I'd hoped to hear from WarKirby directly on this
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: last triaged date then?
- [12:10] Gigs Taggart: there's a patch already for mute and throttle
- [12:10] Gigs Taggart: this could be marked duplicate probably
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:10] Aric Linden: oh wait, Lex mailed this to security
- [12:10] Squirrel Wood: throttling is in the rc viewer, isn't it?
- [12:10] Gigs Taggart: oh hmm
- [12:10] Gigs Taggart: this is llLoadURL
- [12:10] Gigs Taggart: I wonder if the patches only do perms
- [12:10] Squirrel Wood: at least for animation permission dialogs
- [12:11] Gigs Taggart: Soft would know
- [12:11] Aric Linden: sadly I don't remember the outcome. Alexa, please go ahead and import and assign it to me. I'll follow up
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:11] Aric Linden: vwr-3559
- [12:11] Aric Linden: by the way folks, I'd like to applaud you all. we set a new triage record last week in this meeting
- [12:11] Gigs Taggart: cool
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: woot!
- [12:12] Gigs Taggart: the next two are duplicates of each other
- [12:12] Gigs Taggart: I'm not sure why it's filed twice
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:12] Gigs Taggart: oh wait
- [12:12] Gigs Taggart: sorry that's a bug in my search DB :P
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:13] Aric Linden: nope, the vwr one keeps pushing to the svr one.
- [12:13] Gigs Taggart: if an issue is moved often I won't get rid of the old one
- [12:13] Aric Linden: nice bug
- [12:13] Squirrel Wood: [1]
- [12:13] Gigs Taggart: this is another DoS similar to the blue dialog spam
- [12:14] Aric Linden: I can't seem to get 3559 to come up
- [12:14] Gigs Taggart: Linden Lab really needs to put a policy on this
- [12:14] Gigs Taggart: Right now "weapons makers" think this sort of client DoS is within the TOS it seems
- [12:14] Chilli Cao: vwr-3559 forwards to SVC-1038 ?
- [12:14] Squirrel Wood: yep.
- [12:14] Gigs Taggart: yeah sorry about the number confusion
- [12:15] Aric Linden: ok. are they the same issue?
- [12:15] Gigs Taggart: yes
- [12:15] Gigs Taggart: it was moved
- [12:15] Aric Linden: ok import and assign to me please and I'll discuss internally
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:15] Thraxis Epsilon: Some weapon makers seem to think that anything is fair game as long as they put "Don't use this on someone" in the instructions
- [12:16] Gigs Taggart: yes I would like to see enforcement of the TOS in relation to DoS items for sale
- [12:16] Aric Linden: SVC-1041
- [12:16] Gigs Taggart: it wouldn't solve the problem
- [12:16] Gigs Taggart: but it might help some
- [12:17] Aric Linden: Alexa, please import and assign to Sidewinder
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: done
- [12:17] Aric Linden: vwr-3634
- [12:17] Squirrel Wood: I'd prefer DoS items to be wiped from the asset server
- [12:18] Squirrel Wood: or at least the scripts they use once identified
- [12:18] Aric Linden: This one is interesting. It came up on the windlight list this morning.
- [12:18] Thraxis Epsilon: 3634 would be Windlight Team I'd think
- [12:18] Schwartz Gustafson: the problem is that it's trivial to store scripts off-world and then import them again if the asset gets wiped
- [12:18] Gigs Taggart: yeah tehre's no silver bullet
- [12:18] Aric Linden: yes. Thraxis. They were trying to decide about fixing this based n blog threads
- [12:19] Gigs Taggart: but Linden Lab could at least say "this isn't allowed"
- [12:19] Aric Linden: Let's import it, assign it to pastrami and fuel their dialog.
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: noted
- [12:19] Aric Linden: vwr-1286
- [12:19] Squirrel Wood: people complain about more real life like lighting :p
- [12:19] Gigs Taggart: skip 1286
- [12:19] Gigs Taggart: it shouldn't be on the agenda :P
- [12:19] Aric Linden: kk
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:20] Chilli Cao: people dont like gamma levels on windlight
- [12:20] Aric Linden: svc-459
- [12:20] Gigs Taggart: when I get the improved patch on it I'll put it on
- [12:20] Aric Linden: nods at Chilli
- [12:20] Aric Linden: this is interesting
- [12:21] Gigs Taggart: I don't think this is a useful bug with havok4 changing everything
- [12:21] Aric Linden: it's a known issue, it's being tracked by the havok4 team
- [12:21] Aric Linden: Gigs: I agree with you
- [12:21] Aric Linden: This is scheduled to be fixed in Q108
- [12:21] Gigs Taggart: what do we do with it though?
- [12:21] Aric Linden: Rob, how would you suggest handling this?
- [12:21] Aric Linden: Comment and close?
- [12:21] Aric Linden: leave open?
- [12:22] Gigs Taggart: I think they should reopen it for havok4
- [12:22] Gigs Taggart: I mean as a new issue, if one isn't there
- [12:22] Aric Linden: It's already open internally in Havok4 tracking
- [12:22] Gigs Taggart: just stick that in the linden ID field then
- [12:22] Aric Linden: Shall we link the internal issue?
- [12:22] Rob Linden: looks
- [12:22] Rob Linden: yeah
- [12:22] Aric Linden: k
- [12:22] Aric Linden: Alexa?
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: can do
- [12:23] Aric Linden: hoorays for Alexa
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: can you help me find the approp. issue ?
- [12:23] Aric Linden: can do
- [12:23] Aric Linden: grins
- [12:23] Aric Linden: I'll send you the numbah
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: ty :)
- [12:23] Aric Linden: vwr-3616
- [12:23] Gigs Taggart: straightforward
- [12:23] Gigs Taggart: it's easy to screw up those inventory buttons
- [12:24] Schwartz Gustafson: yeah that's necessary I'd say
- [12:24] Aric Linden: definitely need this one
- [12:24] Gigs Taggart: there's been a lot of similar regressions, it's a simple fix at least
- [12:25] Aric Linden: we had a bad merge to release the munged some stuff
- [12:25] Aric Linden: Alexa, assign to triage please
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:25] Aric Linden: vwr-3619
- [12:25] Aric Linden: is going for a new all time record
- [12:25] Gigs Taggart: 3619 is a comment-only change
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: hahaha
- [12:26] Gigs Taggart: safe to take obviously
- [12:26] Schwartz Gustafson: this is the change that will rock SL to the foundation
- [12:26] Gigs Taggart: hehe
- [12:26] Aric Linden: agrees with Gigs
- [12:27] Aric Linden: and Schwartz
- [12:27] Gigs Taggart: well better to take it then have a programmer rely on the incorrect comment information
- [12:27] Aric Linden: vwr-3748
- [12:27] Aric Linden: agreed
- [12:28] Gigs Taggart: this next one might overlap with the work soft is doing to make windlight compile
- [12:28] Gigs Taggart: I'd ask soft before taking it
- [12:28] Rob Linden: it's going to be harder and harder to not have LIBXUL, but we should take this one
- [12:28] Rob Linden: I doubt soft is trying to build without LIBXUL
- [12:28] Gigs Taggart: what does this have to do with that?
- [12:29] Rob Linden: it appears that the failure only occurs when LIBXUL is disabled
- [12:29] Gigs Taggart: oh crap
- [12:29] Thraxis Epsilon: Soft is doing the test builds of the source releases
- [12:29] Gigs Taggart: I'm looking at the wrong bug
- [12:29] Rob Linden: (maybe I am)
- [12:29] Gigs Taggart: no
- [12:30] Gigs Taggart: I was looking at the next one :P
- [12:30] Rob Linden: (fyi, the time problem on jira.secondlife.com should be fixed now)
- [12:30] Gigs Taggart: 3748 is already imported... I think...
- [12:30] Aric Linden: let's take this one and just pass it to soft to be sure
- [12:30] Gigs Taggart: I thought it was fixed by now
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:31] Aric Linden: vwr-3655
- [12:31] Gigs Taggart: my earlier comments apply to 3655
- [12:31] Aric Linden: gigs, we had probs with the mozlib stuff in QA last week
- [12:32] Gigs Taggart: VWR-2834 --- fixed -- seems to duplicate 3748
- [12:32] Gigs Taggart: might have been regressed
- [12:32] Aric Linden: wait, are we agreed on taking in 3655?
- [12:32] Gigs Taggart: aric: I'd run it past soft
- [12:32] Aric Linden: perfect. thanks gigs
- [12:32] Gigs Taggart: soft was working on getting windlight to compile
- [12:33] Gigs Taggart: might have already fixed this
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: noted - soft
- [12:33] Aric Linden: onto svc-1047
- [12:33] Rob Linden: Gigs: are you sure Soft is working on Windlight? I thought he was working on 1.18.6....
- [12:34] Gigs Taggart: Rob: hmm
- [12:34] Rob Linden: anyway....we can move on
- [12:34] Aric Linden: take this one and assign to triage please
- [12:34] Gigs Taggart: svc-1047 is very dangerous
- [12:34] Aric Linden: vwr-3777
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:35] Thraxis Epsilon: even if it is a valid bug.... can't really fix it at this point
- [12:35] Squirrel Wood: 1047 would break too many things
- [12:35] Aric Linden: Gigs, it'll get processed at the internal triage. my guess is that both Don and Steve will have a lot to say about it
- [12:35] Aric Linden: I suspect it'll wind up as a someday maybe
- [12:35] Schwartz Gustafson: man, someone that actually knows how to multiply quaternions
- [12:36] Gigs Taggart: 3777 seems valid
- [12:36] Aric Linden: hmmm 3777 is way excellent
- [12:36] Aric Linden: definitely take it and assign it to triage
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: done
- [12:36] Aric Linden: like to bring it into the code asap if possible
- [12:37] Aric Linden: vwr-3433
- [12:37] Gigs Taggart: 3433 I've seen myself
- [12:37] Gigs Taggart: SL doesn't handle non-default water levels very well
- [12:37] Schwartz Gustafson: I know a few builders that are running into that
- [12:37] Aric Linden: nods
- [12:38] Aric Linden: I was looking at a variant of this with dan linden the other day
- [12:38] Aric Linden: let'
- [12:38] Aric Linden: let's take it - triage
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: noted
- [12:38] Gigs Taggart: VWR-2841 is stale
- [12:38] Aric Linden: vwr-2841
- [12:39] Gigs Taggart: a service/ISP issue that's stale
- [12:39] Gigs Taggart: trash it
- [12:39] Alexa Linden: aric, close?
- [12:40] Gigs Taggart: I don't see any traceroutes, or anything actionable
- [12:40] Aric Linden: I agree with Gigs
- [12:40] Schwartz Gustafson: that's probably the vaguest that issue could get
- [12:40] Rob Linden: yup, I vote "resolve"
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:40] Aric Linden: it really does seem like an ISP issue
- [12:40] Schwartz Gustafson: "I have some problems sometimes, and sometimes people complain about problems too, and sometimes it's okay"
- [12:40] Gigs Taggart: hehe
- [12:40] Aric Linden: svc-1006
- [12:41] Gigs Taggart: hmm
- [12:41] Schwartz Gustafson: if not fixed, at least documented
- [12:41] Gigs Taggart: is there a way to release permissions now?
- [12:41] Aric Linden: Permissions are shifting slightly based on a major re-working of the code
- [12:41] Gigs Taggart: since this has regressed?
- [12:42] Gigs Taggart: Aric LSL permissions like DEBIT?
- [12:42] Gigs Taggart: I thought the permission overhaul was perm/script permissions like no-copy
- [12:42] Aric Linden: Gigs: the entire perms arch was buffed and re-factored
- [12:42] Aric Linden: we've been working on it for 6 months
- [12:43] Thraxis Epsilon: Aric - This is for when an item asks for debit permissions
- [12:43] Schwartz Gustafson: or animation or controls or etc
- [12:43] Thraxis Epsilon: Or animation for that mater...
- [12:43] Thraxis Epsilon: Once you give it... you can't take it back
- [12:43] Aric Linden: Yes, I suspect this is a case that changed and snuck through
- [12:43] Aric Linden: Let's take it and I'll review it with QA and Mani
- [12:44] Thraxis Epsilon: Ahh... confused this with another feature request also
- [12:44] Aric Linden: If the wiki needs updating I'll make sure that happens
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: noted
- [12:44] Squirrel Wood: a pie menu option "revoke perms" would be nice ^^
- [12:44] Chilli Cao: mm pie
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:45] Aric Linden: Squirrel that sounds like a fabulous thing for one of the open source community to contribute
- [12:45] Aric Linden: glances kindly at squirrel
- [12:45] Aric Linden: web-405
- [12:45] Gigs Taggart: hehe, we can't do that with no packet
- [12:45] Gigs Taggart: web-405 looks valid
- [12:45] Aric Linden: is just kidding around
- [12:45] Thraxis Epsilon: Web-406 and 406 are an ongoing issue
- [12:46] Squirrel Wood: battles with pjira, forcing it to load faster
- [12:46] Schwartz Gustafson: 406 has been a problem for a while; no experience with 405
- [12:46] Thraxis Epsilon: Cornelius posted back in April he's been working on the Map API... but nothing since then really
- [12:46] Aric Linden: yep. let's take 405
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: triage?
- [12:46] Aric Linden: yes please
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:47] Aric Linden: vwr-3507
- [12:47] Gigs Taggart: 3507 is a good windlight regression bug I think
- [12:48] Schwartz Gustafson: worth seeing if it's reproducible first, probably
- [12:48] Schwartz Gustafson: though they say "affects quality of merchandise" so it probably is
- [12:48] Aric Linden: yep. assign to me for repro please
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: done
- [12:48] Aric Linden: might've gotten fixed in a more recent wl fl
- [12:48] Aric Linden: we've been chucking 'em right out there
- [12:49] Aric Linden: vwr-35009
- [12:49] Aric Linden: make that vwr-3509
- [12:49] Gigs Taggart: 3509 has interesting information in it, but it might be hard to reproduce
- [12:49] Gigs Taggart: it is good to see they did some research
- [12:49] Aric Linden: I'd like runitai to look at this one
- [12:50] Aric Linden: but let's give it to triage first
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:50] Aric Linden: vwr-2498
- [12:50] Gigs Taggart: I think 2498 might be pebkac
- [12:51] Schwartz Gustafson: oof
- [12:51] Gigs Taggart: there's a debug option to disable omega rotation
- [12:51] Aric Linden: bless you
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: LOL
- [12:51] Schwartz Gustafson: that sounds like three possible problems in one issue
- [12:52] Aric Linden: This may be fixed in WL
- [12:52] Aric Linden: even with this card. the windlight folks have done a huge amount of tuning along these lines
- [12:52] Aric Linden: let's take this one and I'll discuss it with pastrami
- [12:53] Aric Linden: pass to me please, Alexa
- [12:53] Alexa Linden: noted
- [12:53] Aric Linden: svc-1027
- [12:53] Gigs Taggart: 1027 may be intended behavior? I don't know.
- [12:53] Gigs Taggart: probably isn't
- [12:54] Aric Linden: but it may change with parcel media
- [12:54] Aric Linden: let's take it and discuss at triage
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: noted
- [12:55] Aric Linden: svc-1019
- [12:55] Gigs Taggart: 1019..wow :P
- [12:55] Gigs Taggart: it sounds like his parcel exploded
- [12:55] Alexa Linden: ack
- [12:56] Thraxis Epsilon: Well alot of his issue seems to be because he was very confused
- [12:56] Aric Linden: wow. it sounds like he's telling the future
- [12:56] Gigs Taggart: hehe
- [12:56] Thraxis Epsilon: The land sounds to have been deeded to the group
- [12:56] Gigs Taggart: even so
- [12:56] Thraxis Epsilon: So items owned by him would show up as "Owned by others"
- [12:56] Gigs Taggart: items owned by group members that weren't deeded shouldn't have moved
- [12:56] Aric Linden: he may've been garbage collected too severely
- [12:57] Aric Linden: let's take this one and assign it to Hamilton please
- [12:57] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:57] Thraxis Epsilon: Or he clicked on Auto-Return
- [12:57] Gigs Taggart: that doesn't explain the moved objects
- [12:57] Gigs Taggart: if all he is saying is true then there's no simple explanation
- [12:58] Aric Linden: unless he's uncovered a bug we haven't created yet
- [12:58] Gigs Taggart: hehe
- [12:58] Schwartz Gustafson: maybe another pebkac
- [12:58] Gigs Taggart: yes in 1 year you will cause parcels to explode
- [12:58] Schwartz Gustafson: or a confluence of them
- [12:58] Aric Linden: sort of the SL nostradamus thing
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: ok - what is pebkac?
- [12:58] Gigs Taggart: it would have had to have been a lot of user errors to create all his troubles... but it's not impossible
- [12:58] Chilli Cao: On Sat. Dec. 1 2008, .. he is 1 year ahead too how future proof is that
- [12:58] Aric Linden: misc=831
- [12:58] Aric Linden: Bless you
- [12:58] Schwartz Gustafson: problem exists between keyboard and chair
- [12:58] Thraxis Epsilon: Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: LMAO
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: thanks
- [12:59] Gigs Taggart: we need a pebkac resolution on jira
- [12:59] Gigs Taggart: hehe
- [12:59] Alexa Linden: hahahaha
- [12:59] Gigs Taggart: 831 is a very minor problem
- [12:59] Gigs Taggart: I think it's supposed to make the background of the disk image window change?
- [12:59] Squirrel Wood: OSI Layer 8 problem :p
- [12:59] Thraxis Epsilon: can we have a TANSTAAFL resolution too then?
- [13:00] Gigs Taggart: hehe
- [13:00] Aric Linden: let's take it. and assign it to triage
- [13:00] Alexa Linden: noted
- [13:00] Aric Linden: that's time folks
- [13:00] Alexa Linden: Hooo!
- [13:00] Aric Linden: how'd we do Alexa?
- [13:00] Alexa Linden: 23
- [13:01] Aric Linden: yes!!!!
- [13:01] Alexa Linden: hahaha
- [13:01] Bridie Linden: OSSM
- [13:01] Alexa Linden: you're setting a tough standard :P
- [13:01] Aric Linden: grins hugely at bridie
- [13:01] Schwartz Gustafson: yeah 831 looks like it would just require renaming one file
- [13:01] Alexa Linden: let the pjira wars begin!
- [13:02] Schwartz Gustafson: gigs: that's what I thought "won't resolve" was
- [13:02] Aric Linden: Schwartz I'm pretty sure it was just a build glitch
- [13:02] Thraxis Epsilon: won't resolve should become tanstaafl
- [13:02] Schwartz Gustafson: true enough
- [13:02] Aric Linden: I'm mostly trying to make Rob happy
- [13:02] Alexa Linden: lol
- [13:02] Schwartz Gustafson: I don't know OSX so it looked like a minor UI thing
- [13:03] Rob Linden: :)
- [13:03] Thraxis Epsilon: OSX is about the only OS I can't test on
