- [12:04] Alexa Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Monday_Agenda
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: since no Kona yet, I'll drive :)
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-917
- [12:04] Gordon Wendt: overreactive SQL injection attack prevention?
- [12:04] Bridie Linden: Ty Alexa
- [12:04] Soft Linden: Yeah, apparently.
- [12:05] Soft Linden: Does Rob still own pJIRA, or is that migrating with pSVN?
- [12:05] Prospero Linden: has no clue
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: looks at her shoes.....
- [12:05] Squirrel Wood: I do hope the forum vaildates its inputs even on pages that no "human" ever "uses"
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: I sort of own pjira
- [12:05] Soft Linden: Poor you :)
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: then get help from rob or sue or whoever is the right person
- [12:06] Latif Khalifa: isn't the whole forum thing getting replaced soon anyway
- [12:06] Soft Linden: Yeah. this would probably have to be handled by Casc
- [12:06] Soft Linden: So maybe import and hand to Rob to interface with them?
- [12:06] Gordon Wendt: Alexa, so you're the one that I should complain to each time the JIRA spits out nasty error messages to me?
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: I can import to me and find out
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: yup file a bug to web/pjira and we review them :)
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: Gellan's done a few for us :)
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: when he sees errors
- [12:07] Gordon Wendt: If this is all it takes to get a forum issue fixed I guess I should be adding all the BBCode reactivation request issues to the agenda each week until you crack and fix them
- [12:07] Prospero Linden: Those will probably be ignored... after all, we are likely to go to the new forum format "soon"
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: next up is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3122
- [12:08] Soft Linden: This one wants discussion internally.
- [12:08] Latif Khalifa: hole new forum software i suppose too
- [12:08] Soft Linden: We do block LSL from accessing SL services. But search may be a reasonable one to allow.
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: assing to who Soft?
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: assign*
- [12:08] Soft Linden: Hmm
- [12:09] Soft Linden: Kelly would probably know. He's the closest to being an owner for the LSL http stuff
- [12:09] Prospero Linden: This is probably related to a security issue... some internal blocking?
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:09] Prospero Linden: But, yeah, kelly is working on http-in
- [12:09] Prospero Linden: Either Kelly or Periapse
- [12:09] Prospero Linden: Periapse is the PM working with Kelly on Http-in
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: cool and I'll ping him and turn around and ask periapse
- [12:09] Gordon Wendt: This may be due to the whole profile image being projected in world issue
- [12:10] Soft Linden: I wouldn't be surprised if we don't unblock it, but instead come back to find out what kinds of info people want to read from search, and expose something more LSL-friendly.
- [12:10] Soft Linden: I don't think anyone at LL minds that, Gordon.
- [12:10] Gordon Wendt: even though to my knowledge those still work by grabbing it although with "TOS compliance" changes
- [12:10] Squirrel Wood: before you unblock this
- [12:10] Soft Linden: It was probaly just blocked with all the back end servers that we don't want anyone hitting.
- [12:10] Latif Khalifa: hm i tought search pages already worked in lsl
- [12:10] Squirrel Wood: check how much header data is sent before the document body. if its more than 2kb... forget it :p
- [12:10] Latif Khalifa: at least the results do
- [12:11] Latif Khalifa: you can lookup parcel and profile data from search result pages
- [12:11] Gordon Wendt: having it's own LSL command would be nice and that way you could also throttle it to prevent someone DOSing it intentionally or unintentionally
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: next up is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2959
- [12:11] Gordon Wendt: imported but forgotten
- [12:12] Gordon Wendt: not sure if this is an issue in 1.24.9 though
- [12:12] Soft Linden: It's sitting with someone in QA right now
- [12:12] Squirrel Wood: Also, the strength modifier needs to find its way into the lsl terraform commands
- [12:12] Soft Linden: I'll add a reminder ping
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: I can flag internally now and ask for update
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: jinx soft :P
- [12:12] Soft Linden: :)
- [12:12] Squirrel Wood: if its as a new command... llTerraformStrength or something :p
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11164
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: reopened
- [12:14] Latif Khalifa: hehe that one shows wrong processor detection problem same I experience here
- [12:14] Soft Linden: Does our QA department have a setup for intentionally degrading network performance?
- [12:14] Soft Linden: (other than piping data across the L3 vpns :P )
- [12:14] Gordon Wendt: odd to see this happening on XP SP3
- [12:15] Squirrel Wood: Alexa, qq: rc5?
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: next week Squirrel :)
- [12:15] Soft Linden: Alexa, would you import this and assign it to me? I'll add some notes on tests QA could do, then pass it to them.
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9540
- [12:16] Gordon Wendt: appears to be a duplicate of https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9311 but never closed as such
- [12:16] Soft Linden: This one has a better writeup and has a patch
- [12:16] Soft Linden: It's okay to close the older one as the dupe
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: yes
- [12:16] Soft Linden: And this we can import for viewer triage
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: thanks to Latif :)
- [12:17] Latif Khalifa: :)
- [12:17] Soft Linden: Ha, right here!
- [12:17] Soft Linden: Coolness
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: I'll import then
- [12:17] Prospero Linden: w00t!
- [12:17] Latif Khalifa: the patch has a side effect of having initial position of the floater in the left bottom part of the screen
- [12:17] Prospero Linden: is happy to see this fixed
- [12:17] Soft Linden: We can fix that, but the patch gives a Linden 2/3 of what they need to do it
- [12:17] Soft Linden: So it's a huge win
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: :)
- [12:18] Latif Khalifa: well, didn't know if there was a way to save initial Rect info that will hug the floater top right
- [12:18] Latif Khalifa: but it was no biggie for me since you have to move it only once :)
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: next up is another patch https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11172
- [12:19] Soft Linden: That looks really straightforward.
- [12:19] Soft Linden: Would you just import and assign to me?
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: great
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: will do :)
- [12:19] Soft Linden: I'll drop that into maint-viewer this afternoon, should hit 1.23
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: great
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: and our last one for today is
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11210
- [12:20] Gellan Glenelg: Can I add one, please, once we've done this one
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: sure
- [12:20] Soft Linden: This is a duplicate of an internal one, and should be fixed when SLim merges
- [12:20] Soft Linden: jas, will see if I can find it
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: can you ping me with the internal?
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: thanks, I'll tie them together
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: go ahead gellan :)
- [12:21] Gellan Glenelg: [1]
- [12:21] Gellan Glenelg: I'm seeing this again, today
- [12:21] Soft Linden: alexa - DEV-3772 for the previous one.
- [12:21] Alexa Linden: thanks
- [12:21] Gellan Glenelg: If you click the annoying yellow box... you get a webpage with an invalid link on it
- [12:22] Gordon Wendt: wishes there was an option to ignore region change warning messages
- [12:23] Gellan Glenelg: I wonder if ANYONE finds them useful
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: I'm asking about this one Gellan
- [12:23] Gellan Glenelg: those who need to know, probably already do
- [12:23] Soft Linden: Okay, this should be imported - just an extra www. on the URL.
- [12:23] Gordon Wendt: Seems to be a simple issue of the fact that certificates are anal retentive that you use the same address and same protocol every single time
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: ok - I'll import soft
- [12:23] Soft Linden: Should go to core triage I think though, not web.
- [12:23] Prospero Linden: Yes, core triage
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:23] Gordon Wendt: ugh, can you say backlog
- [12:24] Prospero Linden: There' has been some internal discussion about the value of having that message
- [12:24] Latif Khalifa: region changed message?
- [12:24] Gellan Glenelg: I know it was reported as a "bug" a few times last week
- [12:24] Soft Linden: We put it in when there were havok4 vs havok1 sims. The differences are much smaller now.
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: yes
- [12:24] Prospero Linden: Yeah.
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: nods at Gellan
- [12:24] Gordon Wendt: Prospero, there are situations where having it is great so removing it outright is probably a bad idea but an option for the viewer to hide it would be nice
- [12:24] Latif Khalifa: yeah i agree, pretty useless these days
- [12:24] Prospero Linden: We've also discussed having it on different channels rather than different versions.
- [12:24] Squirrel Wood: the message itself is okay. it it would actually tell you the server version or something
- [12:24] Soft Linden: Should add an option to disable it, save it for havok5 or nuttier.
- [12:24] Prospero Linden: Although that might create other issues.
- [12:24] Squirrel Wood: if it ..
- [12:25] Prospero Linden: NOwadays, though, when you click on it you should be getting a valid web address
- [12:25] Gellan Glenelg: you DO get a valie webpage...
- [12:25] Gellan Glenelg: but that page has an invalid link to support
- [12:25] Latif Khalifa: and annoying if your own region is in a test roll, meaning you have a week of "region is running different..." message on each teleport
- [12:25] Gordon Wendt: by tommorow morning it should be gone though since that's when the final restart is scheduled I think for the rollup to 1.24.9
- [12:25] Alexa Linden: that's the Triage list for today
- [12:25] Prospero Linden: Yes, tomorrow morning will finish up the restart, then the whole grid will be on 1.24.10
- [12:26] Latif Khalifa: so I can relax until 1.25.3 :)
- [12:26] Gordon Wendt: Alexa, I have some really cooky ones that I culled if you want something to do for the next half hour
- [12:26] Latif Khalifa: Prospero, you mentioned you found the missing name bug in 1.25?
- [12:26] Prospero Linden: Latif : yes
- [12:26] Latif Khalifa: great :)
- [12:26] Prospero Linden: well, Kartic, Which, and Phoenix did :)
- [12:26] Gordon Wendt: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11016
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: Let's save them for next week Gordon :)
- [12:26] Gordon Wendt: if you want a crazy one
- [12:26] Prospero Linden: I helped them verify, and helped them find the (related) database spiky load bug
- [12:27] Gordon Wendt: OMGWALLOFTEXT :)
- [12:27] Gellan Glenelg: lol. that one was raised at Qarl's OH
- [12:27] Latif Khalifa: is aditi going back to 1.25 soon then?
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: hahaha
- [12:27] Gellan Glenelg: someone posted a corrupt zip file on a forum... so someone reported it as a VWR bug
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: have to love the ones that freeze your brain over just trying to read them
- [12:27] Prospero Linden: yikers
- [12:28] Prospero Linden: submits a JIRA on this JIRA -- "Text too hard to read in VWR-11016"
- [12:28] Gellan Glenelg: lol
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: :P
- [12:28] Squirrel Wood: ^^
- [12:28] Latif Khalifa: :D
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: punctuation... .use it
- [12:28] Gordon Wendt: Apparently a change was made to essentially have all issues point people to the JIRA if they have a bug so we get a ton of no text other than the summary field and wall of text ones
- [12:28] Squirrel Wood: How about the underlying code forces page breaks after so many chars/sentences ?
- [12:28] Squirrel Wood: or line breaks even
- [12:29] Gordon Wendt: really most of these people should be being directed to the KB or to support
- [12:29] Gordon Wendt: and/or
- [12:29] Prospero Linden: The real problem is that this guy writes in stream-of-consciousness
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: yes, there we a couple of places/things thatdid that gordon
- [12:29] Prospero Linden: Which sometimes gets considered High Literature, but I never found that very easy to read either
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: I guess some helpers were handing out notecards
- [12:29] Latif Khalifa: Squirrel, well its not that wide spread problem, so its probably not too wise to make a technological solution to it :)
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: and also gellan made a jira
- [12:29] Gellan Glenelg: looking...
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: asking that nore info be added to the help pull down menu
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: more*
- [12:30] Squirrel Wood: then only if its a one-liner :p
- [12:30] Gellan Glenelg: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11014
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: and I think that's a good suggestion
- [12:30] Gellan Glenelg: I think some people are looking for support, but don't see "Second Life Help", and choose "Issue Tracker" instead
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: Hi Saijanai :)
- [12:31] Saijanai Kuhn: hey
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: that's also why we listed the "frequent issues" on the front of pjira
- [12:31] Gordon Wendt: I should put a feature request in at Atlassian for a way to automatically close issues with a specific reason that are over x old and/or have y as an effected version where y is something grossly outdated
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: to hopefully close down the number of dups
- [12:32] Gellan Glenelg: isn't there already a "bulk update" function you can run on any search results?
- [12:32] Latif Khalifa: Alexa, people don't read :)
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: :)
- [12:32] Soft Linden: A support option would be great - should probably be driven differently for premium and regular accounts, too.
- [12:32] Gordon Wendt: Gellan, maybe for the Lindens but I've never seen one
- [12:32] Latif Khalifa: every day there is a couple of dupes of nvidia texturing bug
- [12:32] Soft Linden: Or I guess that logic would more naturally go on the page, not in the viewer.
- [12:32] Squirrel Wood: people DO read. What they don't do is comprehend what they just read :p
- [12:33] Gellan Glenelg: gordon, run an y search... and look top right of the results
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: ya, there is but even so I don't think it would add a comment like "is this still happening with the lastest RC"
- [12:33] Gordon Wendt: Soft, you already have one, it's called tickets, chat and voice for premium, estate, and FIC respectively and the dumpster out back for everyone else
- [12:33] Gellan Glenelg: I see a "Bulk Change: all 21 issue(s)
- [12:33] Squirrel Wood: they cannot make sense of things they read. :p
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: ya gellan but it's limited
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: I've tried playing around with it
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:33] Gellan Glenelg: ah - I've never tried USING it :)
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:34] Latif Khalifa: hopes 1.22 goes golden soon
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: so that's all we had on the agenda
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: I'll get everything updated and imported
- [12:34] Gordon Wendt: there's still one open on 1.13.2.15 as the fix version
- [12:34] Alexa Linden: thank you all for coming and I'll see some of you on Weds!
- [12:34] Squirrel Wood: 1.22 is far from being perfect atm
- [12:34] Saijanai Kuhn: ah, found minor bug. [2]
- [12:34] Soft Linden: Awesome as always, thanks Alexa!
- [12:34] Saijanai Kuhn: seems variant on another bug, but I'm the only one who has the error with mid files
- [12:35] Soft Linden: Gonna scoot - need food, and have another pressing issue thingy
- [12:35] Gordon Wendt: dupe of [3]
- [12:35] Prospero Linden: is going to head out too -- finish rescuing Aditi
- [12:35] Prospero Linden: have fun everybody
- [12:35] Alexa Linden: Saijanai, do you have reproducible steps you can add?
- [12:35] Saijanai Kuhn: Like I said, I'm the only one this happens with. May be PPC specific
- [12:35] Squirrel Wood: Hoppy Nude Deer and stuff
- [12:35] Latif Khalifa: aditi hosed again?
- [12:35] Latif Khalifa: lol poor thing
- [12:35] Prospero Linden: Latif : left over hosage from the Dec 23 hose
- [12:36] Saijanai Kuhn: [4]
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: it looks like internally, we're having a hard time recreating it
- [12:36] Saijanai Kuhn: just click on that link
- [12:36] Latif Khalifa: i was getting same login errors again saturday
- [12:36] Latif Khalifa: cannot connect to sim
- [12:36] Prospero Linden: It should be OK now
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: plays for me
- [12:36] Latif Khalifa: ah nice
- [12:36] Saijanai Kuhn: hangs my mac eery time, but doesn't hang Intel macs
- [12:36] Prospero Linden: But, there are some regions down, and I'm fixing the rest of them up
- [12:36] Prospero Linden: OK, see y'all
- [12:36] Latif Khalifa: see yiy
- [12:37] Saijanai Kuhn: loves being last PowerMac user in Second life :-/
- [12:37] Latif Khalifa: lol
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: can you add your full specs to your bug?
- [12:37] Saijanai Kuhn: KK
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: and I can see if someone can take a look :)
- [12:37] Latif Khalifa: even libomv gives you grief on powerpc
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: and I'm off
- [12:38] Latif Khalifa: bye alexa
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: thanks all :)
- [12:38] [[User:<3<3<3: Latif|<3<3<3: Latif]]: Khalifa bids Alexa Linden farewell!
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: :D
