- [14:15] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11938 - Select By Surrounding and Edit Linked Parts Getting Worse
- [14:16] Bambers Linden: do you have to sign up to get to the preview grid Gellan?
- [14:16] Dessie Linden: I apologize for the fly-by, but I need to get going
- [14:16] Dessie Linden: See you all soon!
- [14:16] Bambers Linden: no worries Dessie - laters!
- [14:16] Fuzzy Mocha: no. not the 'beta' grid.. you don't need to sign up. you use your existing account.
- [14:16] Alexa Linden: dup of VWR-11797?
- [14:17] Gellan Glenelg: no - just hit Ctrl-Shift-G at the login screen and that will give you a grid choice - choose Aditi
- [14:17] Gellan Glenelg: (and AGni is the main grid - so you don't get STUCK on aditi!)
- [14:17] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11797
- [14:17] Alexa Linden: ?
- [14:17] Bambers Linden: looking
- [14:17] Alexa Linden: ack no
- [14:17] Alexa Linden: nm
- [14:18] Alexa Linden: ya I remember ramzi testing this one
- [14:18] Bambers Linden: no - specifically with drag-to-select
- [14:18] Alexa Linden: ya
- [14:19] Bambers Linden: I think this might be worth importing
- [14:19] Alexa Linden: ok
- [14:19] Gellan Glenelg: I've noticed this - the selection criteria no longer seems to be as simple as "select all objects that are entirely enclosed by yellow box"
- [14:19] Alexa Linden: agreed
- [14:20] Bambers Linden: yeah - I think it's "whose centre is entirely enclosed"
- [14:20] Alexa Linden: it sometimes takes me more than one try to delete a build
- [14:20] Fuzzy Mocha: as someone who builds on occation. usualy large structures.. I have had this issue, I always assumed it was distance or viewer perspective related.
- [14:20] Alexa Linden: even if everything falls within the "grab"
- [14:20] Gellan Glenelg: tho not sure how it works with "edit linked parts" - which is what this seems to be referring to
- [14:20] Moon Metty: hmmmm
- [14:20] Bambers Linden: and with the new picking changes the mechanics may still need tweaking
- [14:20] Moon Metty: it should work on linked parts
- [14:21] Bambers Linden: then an import for sure
- [14:21] Gellan Glenelg: but is it "centre of prim is inside yellow box" or "whole prim is inside"?
- [14:21] Alexa Linden: ok
- [14:21] Bambers Linden: I spotted centre of prim in a comment
- [14:22] Bambers Linden: next up: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11947
- [14:22] Bambers Linden: Linux: 1.22.8 Playing streamed sound makes the viewer crash on 64-bit linux installations
- [14:22] Bambers Linden: any 64bit Linux users here?
- [14:22] Moon Metty: not me
- [14:22] Bambers Linden: nor I
- [14:22] Gellan Glenelg: not me
- [14:22] Bambers Linden: if not we should move on
- [14:22] Bambers Linden: going once
- [14:22] Moon Metty: it's abracadoobra to me
- [14:23] Bambers Linden: going twice
- [14:23] Bambers Linden: going five
- [14:23] Dirk Talamasca: GONE!
- [14:23] Bambers Linden: gone :)
- [14:23] Moon Metty: oh wait!
- [14:23] Gellan Glenelg: it's reported on 1.22.8 ... ask if it's still a problem?
- [14:23] Dirk Talamasca: rofl
- [14:23] Moon Metty: too late :\
- [14:23] Bambers Linden: always had a blind spot with 3s and 5s
- [14:24] Bambers Linden: yeah gellan - still a problem please, alexa
- [14:24] Alexa Linden: ok
- [14:24] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11386 - libGLcore random Crashs
- [14:25] Bambers Linden: 1.22.5 crash, Alexa was the last commenter
- [14:25] Bambers Linden: just follow up to see if it happened again?
- [14:25] Erinyse Planer: blinks Wait whoa... am i late?
- [14:26] Moon Metty: we traiged this over a month ago
- [14:26] Alexa Linden: k
- [14:26] Bambers Linden: we did?
- [14:26] Bambers Linden: we did
- [14:26] Squirrel Wood: Sparta!
- [14:26] Moon Metty: "This is very random but consistent."
- [14:26] Alexa Linden: Last Triaged: 04/Feb/09 08:17 AM
- [14:26] Moon Metty: i can remember that bit
- [14:26] Alexa Linden: lol moon :p
- [14:26] Bambers Linden: lol - I remember that bit too
- [14:26] Bambers Linden: "80% Complete"
- [14:26] Alexa Linden: ok - nmi still a problem
- [14:27] Bambers Linden: yeah
- [14:27] Bambers Linden: next up, then
- [14:27] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12207 - Trying to upload anything results in total lock up of the viewer.
- [14:27] Alexa Linden: Acer
- [14:27] Bambers Linden: begins to wonder if we're hitting a section we've triaged before...
- [14:28] Squirrel Wood: cannot repro ?
- [14:28] Moon Metty: i can upload without problem
- [14:28] Alexa Linden: ya, harleen gave good info
- [14:28] Alexa Linden: same
- [14:28] Gellan Glenelg: hmm. windows 7
- [14:28] Moon Metty: but this is windows 7
- [14:28] Squirrel Wood: W7 not supported yet ?
- [14:28] Moon Metty: it's beta lol
- [14:28] Bambers Linden: not yet
- [14:29] Erinyse Planer: weve triaged allot fo these before but msot were nmi
- [14:29] Bambers Linden: true
- [14:29] Fuzzy Mocha: Umm.. I'm using W7 and don't have issues...
- [14:29] Erinyse Planer: um ild ask them to go to support
- [14:29] Erinyse Planer: i think its a congfig issue
- [14:30] Bambers Linden: also ask to attach a log
- [14:30] Fuzzy Mocha: I have the same hardware this user reported.. and am not having any viewer crash issues.. with the latest release candidates.
- [14:30] Squirrel Wood: W7 isn't even released yet...
- [14:30] Bambers Linden: might show where the freeze is triggered
- [14:30] Alexa Linden: ok
- [14:30] Erinyse Planer: it may also just be lack of memory too
- [14:31] Bambers Linden: should we suggest contacting support too then?
- [14:31] Bambers Linden: nmi, and please call support
- [14:31] Alexa Linden: I would say yes
- [14:31] Erinyse Planer: note its under a gig, and 1.22 seems to not do well with systems under a gig.
- [14:32] Bambers Linden: ok, next?
- [14:32] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12326 - Alpha textures cause disproportionate slowdown in client
- [14:32] Moon Metty: ohhh ok
- [14:32] Alexa Linden: disproportionate......
- [14:32] Alexa Linden: hmmmm
- [14:32] Moon Metty: i went into the clouds to do a test before the meeting
- [14:32] Bambers Linden: hard one to quantify, methinks
- [14:33] Moon Metty: my fps went down to 8
- [14:33] Moon Metty: and that's just like all the other clients
- [14:33] Alexa Linden: I'm not seeing anything hugely noticable on home or work machine
- [14:33] Erinyse Planer: i can repo this one
- [14:33] Moon Metty: but this OP has a very simple machine
- [14:33] Bambers Linden: same here - my home has lots and lots of alphas
- [14:33] Erinyse Planer: go to a forest sim
- [14:34] Bambers Linden: 's comment to Alexa, above
- [14:34] Moon Metty: hmmm, it is a dual
- [14:34] Fuzzy Mocha: Those system specs seem an awfully lot like a Mac G4...
- [14:34] Bambers Linden: should we import to look into?
- [14:34] Erinyse Planer: yes
- [14:35] Alexa Linden: is there enough to test?
- [14:35] Bambers Linden: maybe we should ask for some coords
- [14:35] Moon Metty: it's not much
- [14:35] Alexa Linden: ok
- [14:35] Bambers Linden: well, a slurl anyway
- [14:36] Alexa Linden: wb squirrel :)
- [14:36] Squirrel Wood: hmm.. me hair is still only rendered partially
- [14:36] Bambers Linden: "The current client rendered the normal view at around 10fps and this jumped to around 12fps when I toggle alpha textures off"
- [14:36] Alexa Linden: all there for me :)
- [14:36] Moon Metty: 12 isn't very high
- [14:37] Bambers Linden: but 10-12 is hardly drastic in context
- [14:37] Gellan Glenelg: presumably that was 1.21
- [14:37] Gellan Glenelg: read the next part... ". With exactly the same view (and Graphics settings) the RC version ....
- [14:38] Gellan Glenelg: claiming 3-12 on 1.22
- [14:38] Erinyse Planer: yeah the rc version takes a 9fps larger hit
- [14:38] Bambers Linden: oh, of course I knew that was there...
- [14:38] Bambers Linden: :)
- [14:38] Erinyse Planer: 9fps is a bit steep
- [14:38] Moon Metty: yes lol
- [14:38] Bambers Linden: yes, I stand down. ask for a bit more reproducibility
- [14:39] Alexa Linden: okie dokie
- [14:39] Bambers Linden: e.g. a slurl and a copy of secondlife.log
- [14:39] Alexa Linden: gotcha :)
- [14:39] Bambers Linden: (it contains fps info)
- [14:39] Erinyse Planer: nods
- [14:39] Bambers Linden: next up
- [14:40] Erinyse Planer: though i could tell you a sim name right now that you could probably test it on
- [14:40] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-10328 - Crashes When HItting Play on Music when the Stream is a OGG Stream(Ubuntu 8.10 \ SL 1.22.1)
- [14:40] Bambers Linden: Erinyse - certainly add that as a comment
- [14:40] Moon Metty: maybe it's an idea to hold separate linux triages
- [14:41] Bambers Linden: Moon - that may be a good idea. I think there IS one
- [14:41] Moon Metty: oh!
- [14:41] Bambers Linden: alexa?
- [14:41] Moon Metty: heehee
- [14:41] Ellla McMahon: that is an old version of RC .. alot of changes since 1.22.1
- [14:41] Alexa Linden: yes, sorry
- [14:41] Bambers Linden: should we move on then? Or is there someone with Linux 32 bit who's seen this or can try?
- [14:41] Alexa Linden: catching up
- [14:42] Bambers Linden: we'll move on
- [14:42] Alexa Linden: I can ask if someone wants to own Linux triages
- [14:42] Alexa Linden: I think that's a good diea
- [14:42] Alexa Linden: idea
- [14:42] Ellla McMahon: there's a note on release notes about Linux and audio
- [14:42] Alexa Linden: since it's all geek to me :p
- [14:42] Erinyse Planer: i vote ask itf tis still a aproblem and move on
- [14:42] Bambers Linden: cool Alexa - I think we'll a) find someone and b) maybe find someone already does it
- [14:42] Squirrel Wood: good diet?
- [14:43] Bambers Linden: next: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-10773 - Click and Drag Selection - Doesn't work after the first time
- [14:44] Alexa Linden: NMI?
- [14:44] Alexa Linden: to respond to Ramzi's post?
- [14:44] Bambers Linden: I'd say this is at least related to VWR-11938
- [14:45] Ryu Darragh: I bet that's part and parcel of the not-rezzed prim issue until you change POV
- [14:45] Alexa Linden: ok - relating them
- [14:46] Erinyse Planer: hmm i think we should ask for a location where they did this
- [14:46] Moon Metty: it's about coalesced objects, i think
- [14:46] Moon Metty: reading the last posts
- [14:46] Bambers Linden: likewise
- [14:46] Alexa Linden: It isn't formally linked
- [14:47] Alexa Linden: so ya
- [14:47] Erinyse Planer: coalessed items dont work right in the first place, but also ive noticed some sims treat them slightly differant
- [14:47] Bambers Linden: I guess ask the poster if it still happens in 1.22 release
- [14:47] Moon Metty: yes Bambers
- [14:48] Ryu Darragh: Never had a problem with coalesced items.. using latest RC all the way back to 1.21
- [14:48] Bambers Linden: (as Ramzi failed to repro in 1.22.5)
- [14:48] Erinyse Planer: yes and ask him if it changes behaviiors if he takes them into the inventoory one at a time
- [14:48] Erinyse Planer: and also if it changes if he uses return instead of take
- [14:48] Bambers Linden: why return?
- [14:48] Bambers Linden: may be missing something
- [14:48] Alexa Linden: nmi it is :)
- [14:49] Ryu Darragh: Return will sometimes make more than one coalesced object depending on the number of objects
- [14:49] Erinyse Planer: it shouldnt change how it acts but soemtimes it does
- [14:49] Alexa Linden: yes Ryu
- [14:49] Ryu Darragh: Over 256 get turned into two objects
- [14:49] Alexa Linden: yup
- [14:49] Ryu Darragh: But, you can only select a certain number in the first place
- [14:49] Bambers Linden: oh, right. Cool. Cheers Ryu and Erinyse :)
- [14:50] Fuzzy Mocha: they are talking about three objects though.. so it's not a prim count issue.
- [14:50] Ryu Darragh: Yup
- [14:50] Bambers Linden: next is https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-10635 - hi rez snapshots with 'show hud in snapshot' have huds in wrong place
- [14:50] Bambers Linden: waits to hear the click-whirrrrrr of snapshots
- [14:50] Alexa Linden: hahahaha
- [14:50] Ryu Darragh: I do know the rule is that the *first* object selected names the coalesced object, the opposite of which becomes root in a linkset.
- [14:50] Alexa Linden: jinx :p
- [14:50] Squirrel Wood: hi res... mayhaps ask if it still happens
- [14:50] Dirk Talamasca: cannot reproduce
- [14:51] Ryu Darragh: And perms contaminate differently
- [14:51] Squirrel Wood: after all they use intel onboard graphics
- [14:51] Squirrel Wood: which, I believe, is not suported
- [14:51] Erinyse Planer: ryu all those reasons are why i want to see if retun makes a differance or not.
- [14:51] Fuzzy Mocha: I could install SL on my Atom... it has the intel onboard graphics. but I doublt it'd run SL all that well.
- [14:51] Bambers Linden: Ryu and Erinyse - sounds like a fair enough addition to the NMI then
- [14:52] Ryu Darragh: Heh.. I do it all the time, but never managed a repro
- [14:52] Fuzzy Mocha: opos sorry .. I typed el oh el..
- [14:52] Gellan Glenelg: this repros for me using "odd" dimensions
- [14:52] Squirrel Wood: Alexa seems to have crashed
- [14:52] Moon Metty: hmmm odd dimensions?
- [14:52] Ryu Darragh: Yep
- [14:52] Erinyse Planer: gellan does it seem to put the huds itnot he "default" positiosn for you?
- [14:52] Ryu Darragh: No particles :P
- [14:53] Bambers Linden: should have let her go get that other cup of coffee after all
- [14:53] Gellan Glenelg: well, I used 3680 x 2272
- [14:53] Alexa Linden: fall down go boom :(
- [14:53] Squirrel Wood: wb Alexa!
- [14:53] Fuzzy Mocha: my snap shots are always in 'odd dimentions' as I never use full screen.. always windowed..
- [14:53] Bernard Herzog: hi all ;)
- [14:53] Bambers Linden: yey alexa
- [14:53] Erinyse Planer: wb alexa *duct tapes alexa to sl*
- [14:53] Alexa Linden: well that test crashed me :p
- [14:53] Bambers Linden: how alexa? snapshotting?
- [14:53] Squirrel Wood: Windoomed? ^^
- [14:53] Alexa Linden: hahahahah
- [14:53] Moon Metty: whoops lol
- [14:53] Dirk Talamasca: hiya Bernard
- [14:53] Alexa Linden: and it wasn't that big of a pic!
- [14:53] Gellan Glenelg: the HUD which is attached to centre, but appears buttom left on screen - show TOP left in snapshot
- [14:54] Fuzzy Mocha: I can die happy now. I saw someone with the name linden crash.
- [14:54] Squirrel Wood: I'd love for the client to let me choose certain "window sizes" for indowed mode. Like, 1280x720
- [14:54] Squirrel Wood: windowed..
- [14:54] Alexa Linden: Bamber's I'll need your transcripts :(
- [14:54] Bambers Linden: don't worry, Fuzzy. Moon said the l acronym too
- [14:54] Bambers Linden: ok alexa
- [14:54] Alexa Linden: thanks :)
- [14:54] Alexa Linden: so was the reproable?
- [14:54] Bambers Linden: it was mainly a load of jokes at your expense
- [14:54] Ryu Darragh: I have a project I wanna try someday.. making SL fully Windows API compliant :P
- [14:54] Moon Metty: lol
- [14:54] Alexa Linden: great :p
- [14:54] Fuzzy Mocha: heh
- [14:55] Gellan Glenelg: it repros for me, on vista, nvidia, 1.22.11
- [14:55] Dirk Talamasca: repro at odd screen sizes Alexa
- [14:55] Bambers Linden: define "odd" pls?
- [14:55] Alexa Linden: ok can you add to the comments and I'll import?
- [14:55] Gellan Glenelg: 3680 x 2272
- [14:55] Erinyse Planer: hmm it seems to happen only at really extreme resolutions for me and only if i pump my sl res higher then my desktop res
- [14:56] Gellan Glenelg: (I didnt try with standard size)
- [14:56] Fuzzy Mocha: Are these hud attachments in places that they weren't designed for.. for instance.. a hud attached to center. moved down to the bottom out of the way.. during the screencap does the attachemtn move back to the default center position?
- [14:56] Alexa Linden: I'll see if I can find a "breaking " point after the meeting :p
- [14:56] Ryu Darragh: My system has multiple monitors, so maybe that's why I never see this
- [14:56] Alexa Linden: no for me fuzzy
- [14:56] Gellan Glenelg: does NOT repro when size set to "current window (1920 x 1152)
- [14:56] Bernard Herzog: ru sticking to the agenda?
- [14:56] Alexa Linden: yes Bernard :)
- [14:56] Dirk Talamasca: I have a coup;e like that Fuzzy but they are just fine at standard screen size anyway
- [14:57] Bambers Linden: generally speaking, Bernard, yes.
- [14:57] Bambers Linden: we're currently discussing https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-10635
- [14:57] Bernard Herzog: wonders what's on the agenda..
- [14:57] Moon Metty: [1]
- [14:58] Bambers Linden: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Wednesday_Agenda
- [14:58] Bernard Herzog: ty
- [14:58] Moon Metty: lol
- [14:58] Bambers Linden: heh
- [14:58] Bambers Linden: we have 2 mins left
- [14:58] Ryu Darragh: Stereo Lindens
- [14:58] Bambers Linden: one more
- [14:58] Bambers Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11047
- [14:59] Bambers Linden: vwr-1.22.3 Display Settings reset to traditionally undesireable levels.
- [14:59] Erinyse Planer: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12300 can be resolved as expected
- [14:59] Erinyse Planer: voice and text are muted seperately
- [15:00] Gellan Glenelg: If this was the first time they'd used an RC, then this is expected behaviour - it will default settings, since RC uses different .xml fiel
- [15:00] Squirrel Wood: Actually, when I mute someone I do expect not to hear or read anything from them at all.
- [15:00] Alexa Linden: yup gellan
- [15:00] Fuzzy Mocha: ... I've never actually muted anyone...
- [15:00] Ryu Darragh: That *is* what happens if you pie menu mute them
- [15:01] Alexa Linden: Expected behavior it is
- [15:01] Bambers Linden: cool
- [15:01] Alexa Linden: and I'm off to another meeting
- [15:01] Bambers Linden: that was two-for-one
- [15:01] Fuzzy Mocha: Yes thats normal sure, every time I reinstall the RC it defaults.
- [15:01] Dirk Talamasca: Byeeeeee Alexa
- [15:01] Alexa Linden: thank you all for your insights and ideas!
- [15:01] Bambers Linden: time ladies and gentlemen!
- [15:01] Moon Metty: ok Alexa, see you soon :)
- [15:01] Erinyse Planer: later
- [15:01] Squirrel Wood: rc for me does not dare to default ^^
- [15:01] Bambers Linden: lol
- [15:02] Bambers Linden: oh no! now I just did it!
- [15:02] Ryu Darragh: If you see Pathfinder, kick him in the backside for me.. forgot our meeting today :P
- [15:02] Bambers Linden: will do Ryu
- [15:02] Squirrel Wood: he did not find his path today :p
- [15:02] Ryu Darragh: Hehe
- [15:02] Bambers Linden: polishes shoes especially
- [15:02] Moon Metty: :)
- [15:02] Ryu Darragh: He's a busy guy, most of the time and it;s not critical.. yet.
- [15:03] Moon Metty: thank you Bambers
- [15:03] Ryu Darragh: Ciao :)
- [15:03] Bambers Linden: thanks for coming everyone - apologies to those who arrived late due missing the notice about the time change
