  • [ 12:04] Soft Linden: Kona - Alexa's out, but Ellla's going to generate the list Alexa would normally do
  • [ 12:04] Kona Linden: OSM
  • [ 12:05] Bau Ur: hmm okay, is this the thing that is responsible for freezing an entire region when someone TPs in while wearing a mono-scrupted object?
  • [ 12:05] Kona Linden: Agenda http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Monday_Agenda
  • https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4629 Mono engine revs out of control on 1.27, lags sim to insane levels, need a mono engine governor.
  • [ 12:05] Soft Linden: So would be the first one. Can ya drive?
  • [ 12:05] Kona Linden: TY Bau
  • [ 12:05] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: wonders if this is what is causing FN Alpha to have sudden serious lag periods.
  • [ 12:06] Kona Linden: I shall drive
  • [ 12:06] Soft Linden: Yeah. We do know something's chewing more time than before.
  • [ 12:06] Squirrel Wood: quite likely koli
  • [ 12:06] Soft Linden: I think we can just import this. Andrew's already discussing this internally, but don't think there's a JIRA for it yet.
  • [ 12:06] Soft Linden: Mark for import?
  • [ 12:07] Squirrel Wood: okay with me :)
  • [ 12:07] Bau Ur: Not a JIRa for it??/
  • [ 12:07] Bau Ur: ah, you mean, not yet an internal JIRa.
  • [ 12:07] Soft Linden: No internal JIRA for this specifically
  • [ 12:07] Gecko Linden: yah
  • [ 12:07] Soft Linden: Yeah.
  • [ 12:07] Kona Linden: Sounds good
  • [ 12:07] Kona Linden: Guess it's time to jump in the Pool...
  • [ 12:08] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4652
  • [ 12:08] Squirrel Wood: we had that yesterday in furnation hell
  • [ 12:08] Bau Ur: Is this the thing that has been responsible for peoplke unable to TP into their regions?
  • [ 12:08] Soft Linden: Squirrel - any chance you know what domains wouldn't resolve?
  • [ 12:09] Bau Ur: Or for regions flickering "on" and "off"?
  • [ 12:09] Soft Linden: Bau - not likely. Regions resolve each other through a different mechanism
  • [ 12:09] Kona Linden: Ouch, this one sux
  • [ 12:09] Soft Linden: If anyone has examples of other domains that wouldn't resolve and when, please add 'em to the issue
  • [ 12:09] Kona Linden: NMI?
  • [ 12:09] Soft Linden: But we can probably take this for Kelly's attention
  • [ 12:09] Kona Linden: ahhh, kk
  • [ 12:09] Techwolf Lupindo: I run my own cache nameserver. Too many ISP nameserver/DNS server are b0rked.
  • [ 12:10] Kona Linden: import then, refer to KellY?
  • [ 12:10] Soft Linden: Yup
  • [ 12:10] Kona Linden: kk
  • [ 12:10] Bau Ur: Kelly Linden is the current server maven?
  • [ 12:10] Gecko Linden: the URL was ["http://play.nextrps.com/index.html"]
  • [ 12:10] Soft Linden: Kelly's doing a lot with http specifically
  • [ 12:10] Soft Linden: But please don't contact Kelly directly - putting info on the pJIRA is best
  • [ 12:10] Bau Ur: Right.
  • [ 12:11] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4639
  • [ 12:11] Soft Linden: Since Kelly might refer it to someone else to help out, or run it through QA first
  • [ 12:12] Soft Linden: Hrm
  • [ 12:12] Soft Linden: In the writeup, they're saying that alts can use voice, but the main can't
  • [ 12:12] Soft Linden: I'm going to really quick edit the summary to reflect that
  • [ 12:12] Sheet Spotter: When you use the "-multiple" flag the normal behavior is that only the first person to logon can use Voice.
  • [ 12:12] Kona Linden: kk
  • [ 12:12] Harleen Gretzky: WOndering if they are using -multiple flag?
  • [ 12:13] Ellla McMahon: I don't think its that
  • [ 12:13] Gecko Linden: or device settings pref
  • [ 12:13] Ellla McMahon: they just tested voice using an alt account
  • [ 12:13] Squirrel Wood: voice chat fails when slvoice.exe somehow locks up or does not terminate properly. the next start of SL will leave you without voice until you kill the task and re-enable voice or restart the client
  • [ 12:13] Techwolf Lupindo: Righ now, voice is doing the disconnect, connnect every 5 minutes.
  • [ 12:13] Techwolf Lupindo: for me
  • [ 12:13] Yann Dufaux: hello Saij! :)
  • [ 12:13] Ellla McMahon: there's alot more info on https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12476
  • [ 12:13] Erinyse Planer: this doesnt sound like either of those.
  • [ 12:13] Soft Linden: I think we should import. I retitled to "One account can't use voice - alts can" which should make the voice guys damn curious
  • [ 12:14] Ellla McMahon: but the reporters feel its a server issue and so wanted it on pJIRA under the Server Project
  • [ 12:14] Kona Linden: Ok, from what I know from QA, it's that is an expected limitation...the first account you log in that is
  • [ 12:14] Kona Linden: using -multiple that is
  • [ 12:14] Squirrel Wood: also, if one alt cannot use voice I would try deleting the settings and reconfiguring the client
  • [ 12:14] Squirrel Wood: they may have gone south
  • [ 12:15] Soft Linden: There shouldn't be any per-account voice setting though.
  • [ 12:15] Soft Linden: afaik, all the voice stuff is global settings
  • [ 12:15] Kona Linden: whichever SL client launches first, that is the client that will take command of the voice channel
  • [ 12:15] Sheet Spotter: About six months ago the SLVoice app was regularly crashing for me. It would consume 100% of the CPUI. That hasn't happened to me lately.
  • [ 12:15] Selena Beale: Hmm.. I've had to do the setting things before.. it fixed it but if it's reoccuring it probably need fixed
  • [ 12:15] Squirrel Wood: still some per alt setting may influence that ?
  • [ 12:15] Kona Linden: There's only one voice channel per machine is what I'm understanding
  • [ 12:15] Soft Linden: Being clear here - on SVC-4639, they're not talking about multiple accounts at the same time
  • [ 12:16] Soft Linden: Talking about logging one out, then logging an alt in
  • [ 12:16] Kona Linden: ah, kk
  • [ 12:16] Ellla McMahon: you are correct Soft .. just one account
  • [ 12:16] Kona Linden: logging out or totally closing out that client
  • [ 12:16] Kona Linden:  ?
  • [ 12:16] Gecko Linden: wonder if the hardware preffs are different per user in the local config.
  • [ 12:16] Soft Linden: Closing that client, I assume. We don't have logout yet in our viewer :<
  • [ 12:16] Phantom Ninetails: I don't think you can log out without closing the client
  • [ 12:16] Bau Ur: should there be a difference?
  • [ 12:16] Soft Linden: grr gesture
  • [ 12:17] Bau Ur:  :)
  • [ 12:17] Soft Linden: all good on importing for voice team?
  • [ 12:17] Erinyse Planer: is there a lient that lets you log out without closing the client?
  • [ 12:17] Erinyse Planer: *client
  • [ 12:17] Skills Hak: meerkat does it afaik
  • [ 12:17] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I think there's a 3rd party one that does.
  • [ 12:17] Kona Linden: If one is using -multiple to run more than one instance of SL, it would be relevant
  • [ 12:17] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Yeah, I think it's Meerkat.
  • [ 12:17] Skills Hak: or imprudence, dont remember
  • [ 12:17] Soft Linden: Yeah, I think Meerkat and possibly Imprudence was playing at it
  • [ 12:18] Soft Linden: All good?
  • [ 12:18] Kona Linden: Ok so where we at with this one now...lol?
  • [ 12:18] Soft Linden: Ah, import for voice team
  • [ 12:19] Kona Linden: kk
  • [ 12:19] Gooden Uggla: having multiple av's logged on with voice sounds like feedback griefing to me...
  • [ 12:19] Squirrel Wood: I would suggest import and try to repro WITH the affected user ?
  • [ 12:19] Soft Linden: Hearing that it's per account may be an "Ah ha!" for the voice guys. They should know what resources are per-avatar vs per connection
  • [ 12:20] Soft Linden: On to the next?
  • [ 12:20] Kona Linden: yep...
  • [ 12:20] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3787
  • [ 12:20] Bau Ur: how odd.
  • [ 12:21] Erinyse Planer: Im reading that and ive noticed that happens sometimes too
  • [ 12:21] Yann Dufaux: crap login failed warning lol
  • [ 12:21] Bau Ur: Is it perhaps from a rollback rather than a restart as such?
  • [ 12:21] Squirrel Wood: worn objects are updated on detach... could that cause it ?
  • [ 12:21] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: That sounds like the sim didn't save the script.
  • [ 12:21] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: What Squirrel said.
  • [ 12:21] Soft Linden: Yeah, not too sure what could be happening here, apart from a crash when the sim was shutting down
  • [ 12:22] Soft Linden: Or the database not getting the update to point at the new simstate
  • [ 12:22] Soft Linden: whoops no, that wouldn't be in the simstate, that would be in the inventory db
  • [ 12:22] Bau Ur: WOuld it be related to the problem of scripts running in the absense of their objects? Or to attempts to fix that bug?
  • [ 12:22] Gooden Uggla: could it be related to the shost script problem? literally leeaving those scripts in the sim?
  • [ 12:22] Gooden Uggla: ghost*
  • [ 12:22] Gooden Uggla: what bau said lol
  • [ 12:22] Soft Linden: The ghost script thing - we've not been able to repro that internally yet. Nobody's attempted a fix.
  • [ 12:23] Darv Linden: What happens when a host has to be manually rolled? I heard there was more manual intervention needed in these rolls than normal...
  • [ 12:23] Gooden Uggla: last toime one was on my estate was server 1.26, didn't know to report it, i just deleted, i assume that happens more often
  • [ 12:24] Soft Linden: Usually the manual restarts are just a simstate rollback or finding something that didn't update due to a full disk or swap exhaustion
  • [ 12:24] Kona Linden: So NMI?
  • [ 12:24] Soft Linden: It would be weird for that to affect attachment saves and inventory db updates though
  • [ 12:24] Soft Linden: I'd be inclined to NMI, ask who else is seeing this
  • [ 12:24] Kona Linden: kk
  • [ 12:24] Erinyse Planer: uh soft
  • [ 12:24] Erinyse Planer: refresh?
  • [ 12:25] Squirrel Wood: perchance give detailed info what you did before it happened
  • [ 12:25] Erinyse Planer: theres new comments
  • [ 12:25] JayR Cela: hi there everyone
  • [ 12:25] Kona Linden: Hi JayR
  • [ 12:25] Bau Ur: If we find a disembodied script running in our region, shoudl we call a Linden to come and document it or look at it somehow?
  • [ 12:25] Bau Ur: I do not know what data I could collect from it that would be useful to anyone.
  • [ 12:25] Kona Linden: we are on the following for those just joining: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3787
  • [ 12:25] JayR Cela: whats the topic / please ?
  • [ 12:26] Kona Linden: just noted =)
  • [ 12:26] Gooden Uggla: bau you should leave it, note the location and send a specific ticket asking someone to come look
  • [ 12:26] Kona Linden: we're going thru PJIRAs right now =)
  • [ 12:26] Gooden Uggla: apparent;y they never saw one, even tho anecdotally, lots of people have
  • [ 12:27] Kona Linden: So are we still recommending NMI then?
  • [ 12:27] Soft Linden: This is tough. There's not a lot to go on. It would be helpful to get updates on this right when it happens so we can look while the logs are still fresh
  • [ 12:27] Phantom Ninetails: I bet they would find alot of ghost scripts in the Linden sandboxes.
  • [ 12:27] Soft Linden: Asking for a specific avatar, attachment and region would help here
  • [ 12:27] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Phantom - we see an incredible amount in the FN sims, so we usually have to restart Hell and Vista every few days.
  • [ 12:28] JayR Cela: my wife had that problem last week / with an attachment for hugging / she was ghosted for 3 days
  • [ 12:28] Bau Ur: And restarting it destroys the evidence, presumably.
  • [ 12:28] Soft Linden: On SVC-3787 - I'd NMI, asking for avatar, attachment and region when it happens.
  • [ 12:28] Squirrel Wood: NMI.. good idea ^^
  • [ 12:28] Soft Linden: We'd be able to look and see whether the asset ID updated properly, whether a new asset was created, whether the sim died at shutdown
  • [ 12:28] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: squirrel, your mic is on. :p
  • [ 12:29] Gooden Uggla: sahkolihaaa you have a few lindens here that're curious to see one.... :)
  • [ 12:29] Kona Linden: Avatar, as in the name of the Avatar account affected, yes?
  • [ 12:29] Kona Linden: not worn?
  • [ 12:29] Soft Linden: Yeah.
  • [ 12:29] Kona Linden: kk
  • [ 12:29] Squirrel Wood: should turn off the morpher so you can enjoy the music :p
  • [ 12:29] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Unfortunately, I only became an EM of those sims a couple of weeks ago and haven't seen one as of yet.
  • [ 12:30] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14155
  • [ 12:30] Harleen Gretzky: This is a duplicate
  • [ 12:31] Squirrel Wood: has screenshot and good repro though
  • [ 12:31] Soft Linden: Let's resolve as duplicate but make a note to link back to this on the internal for the dupe
  • [ 12:31] Soft Linden: Because yeah - that repro is good
  • [ 12:32] Harleen Gretzky: I moved the screenshot
  • [ 12:32] Kona Linden: TY Harleen
  • [ 12:32] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2658
  • [ 12:33] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I think I know this one.
  • [ 12:33] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Usually hitting Alt fixes that.
  • [ 12:33] Soft Linden: The reporter claims they can't reproduce; Alexandrea says the same as Sahkolihaa
  • [ 12:34] Selena Beale: Yeah... I agree alt does fix it
  • [ 12:34] Soft Linden: Odd. Never seen this.
  • [ 12:34] Kona Linden: me neither
  • [ 12:34] Kona Linden: NMI? See what results at trying suggested solutions?
  • [ 12:34] Soft Linden: Sahk - when you see this, do you see the empty build floater it mentions?
  • [ 12:35] Soft Linden: (last comment)
  • [ 12:35] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Yup.
  • [ 12:35] Erinyse Planer: alt wotn fix it for me
  • [ 12:35] Erinyse Planer: i have to edit it
  • [ 12:35] Darv Linden: I've seen build UI being wonky (usually on new installations), but not this symptom specifically...
  • [ 12:35] Kona Linden: What do you change when you edit?
  • [ 12:35] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I also found this affects me being able to click my own avatar, too.
  • [ 12:35] Soft Linden: Ideally, I think we want a new issue describing what's in that last comment, and a screenshot if possible
  • [ 12:36] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Next time I do, I'll try to grab a screen shot.
  • [ 12:36] Erinyse Planer: nothing
  • [ 12:36] Gecko Linden: wonder if there are some on_rez functions in that script.
  • [ 12:36] Kona Linden: NMI; we want a new issue describing what's in that last comment, and a screenshot if possible
  • [ 12:36] Erinyse Planer: i jsut hit eit on the pie menu then close the edit window
  • [ 12:37] Soft Linden: Erinyse - when it happens to you, do you see the odd build floater too?
  • [ 12:37] Muffy Endsleigh: so has anyone even looked at the impact that glitches in clothing is having on people not being willing to spend money on stuff?
  • [ 12:38] Erinyse Planer: my hud hightlights like im in build or inspect mode but i cant do anything to it
  • [ 12:38] Kona Linden: since glitches translates to several things, that depends...
  • [ 12:38] Erinyse Planer: if i right click and select touch its a 50/50 if it will work
  • [ 12:38] Soft Linden: Very odd
  • [ 12:38] Soft Linden: I wonder what happens if people log out with the inspect window open?
  • [ 12:38] Soft Linden: Maybe it's not build but inspect being left active?
  • [ 12:38] Erinyse Planer: but i dont inspect my huds
  • [ 12:38] Erinyse Planer: blinks
  • [ 12:39] Soft Linden: No, I'm thinking of the inspect window being left open from the last session, regardless of what was inspected
  • [ 12:39] Kona Linden: ahhh
  • [ 12:39] Darv Linden: Just to be clear, by 'build' we mean 'edit'? :P
  • [ 12:39] Darv Linden: And not 'create'?
  • [ 12:39] Bau Ur: Edit means too many different things.
  • [ 12:39] Kona Linden: true
  • [ 12:39] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: It doesn't always affect me but I'll certainly try to reproduce it later.
  • [ 12:39] Bau Ur: I always call it the "Build " menu.
  • [ 12:40] Soft Linden: Well, it's "Build" under the view menu
  • [ 12:40] Bau Ur: Cuz it is what appears when I click the Build button at the bottom of my screen.
  • [ 12:40] Darv Linden: I mean, is it the "edit" or "create" mode of that floater?
  • [ 12:40] Soft Linden: Though I guess ctrl-3 has it labeled as edit
  • [ 12:40] Kona Linden: ok, so let's leave it at NMI till Sahk can catch a repro & such?
  • [ 12:40] Soft Linden: Yeah, NMI - asking for a screenshot if possible
  • [ 12:41] Phillip Vought: Could be overlapping transparencies, could be all sorts of things, but its never happened to me
  • [ 12:41] Erinyse Planer: ill send one next time soft
  • [ 12:41] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3312
  • [ 12:41] Soft Linden: I'm trying to resist importing anything without solid repros or at least screenshots, just because there's a huge backlog of issues to be fixed already. Anything that seems graspy or difficult to repro for a dev is likely to get passed over in favor of clearer issues.
  • [ 12:41] Squirrel Wood: 3312 seems to be a dupe of 369
  • [ 12:42] Soft Linden: Yeah. this is SVC-369
  • [ 12:42] Kona Linden: yeah, Oct 08 was the last comment
  • [#SVC-369] objects with: the Land' option only transfers ownership of the root prims.
  • [ 12:43] Bau Ur: (laughing)
  • [ 12:43] Soft Linden: Comments on the other issue suggest it's fixed
  • [ 12:43] Kona Linden: ok next...
  • [ 12:43] Soft Linden: So resolve as dupe
  • [ 12:43] Kona Linden: done...
  • [ 12:43] Ardy Lay: So, issue fixed but resident needs advice on dealing with the fallout?
  • [ 12:43] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3771
  • [ 12:43] Soft Linden: Why is this "Won't finish?"
  • [ 12:44] Soft Linden: The reporter did that. Odd.
  • [ 12:44] Squirrel Wood: this is once again permission changing while the item is on the inventory
  • [ 12:44] Squirrel Wood: which is known to be unreliable
  • [ 12:45] Erinyse Planer: the reporter is one of those that has given up on most / all jiras they filed soft
  • [ 12:45] Erinyse Planer: ive run across several cases of that.
  • [ 12:45] Bau Ur: Maybe teh bug report was an error. Maybe the reporter discoverd that stuff didn't transfer because it was non transfer perms or something.
  • [ 12:45] Bau Ur: or maybe is completely dispirited :(
  • [ 12:45] Erinyse Planer: comment : Albertobs88 Obolensky added a comment - 22/Jun/09 04:55 PM
  • None will ever answer this
  • [ 12:45] Phillip Vought: either way this is functioning as designed, its not a bug per se
  • [ 12:46] Kona Linden: Simon commented
  • [ 12:46] Soft Linden: It seems feasible that there's a race condition if derezzing an object and then editing permissions right away
  • [ 12:46] Bau Ur: hmm so on a slow performing sim, this would get out of whack.
  • [ 12:46] Soft Linden: We should import this to talk that over
  • [ 12:46] Kona Linden: kk
  • [ 12:47] Phillip Vought: Soft, the real issue is what do you do with notrans content in a trans container when its slam bit is set?
  • [ 12:47] Gamez Diesel: oh wait im not german lolz
  • [ 12:47] Gamez Diesel: sorry XD
  • [ 12:47] Bau Ur: Normally wiht a folder everything else in that folder will transfer. With an object, the whole obejct refuses to transfer. Right?
  • [ 12:47] Soft Linden: The inventory database has the aggregate perms from the last time the object was rezzed. So it shouldn't be possible to make the thing transferable in inventory.
  • [ 12:48] Squirrel Wood: perchance a clear description when and where permissions can be safely changed...
  • [ 12:48] Soft Linden: Really, we should just get rid of changing permissions on objects in inventory until we rework the inventory database
  • [ 12:48] Kona Linden: so still import then?
  • [ 12:48] Soft Linden: Yeah.
  • [ 12:48] Kona Linden: kk, done
  • [ 12:48] Kona Linden: next: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4613
  • [ 12:48] Erinyse Planer: soft simon suggested that too
  • [ 12:49] Squirrel Wood: perchance they send those too early ?
  • [ 12:49] Soft Linden: I don't quite follow here
  • [ 12:49] Bau Ur: EEk I would have a hard time rezzing stuff to change permissions. I change permissions on stuff in inventory all the time.
  • [ 12:50] Squirrel Wood: or the script changes state / resets ?
  • [ 12:50] Soft Linden: Are they talking about sending requests while crossing regions? Or just failing after entering a region and initiating the request then?
  • [ 12:50] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Sounds more like just entering a sim in general.
  • [ 12:50] Phillip Vought: Bau.. changin perms in inventory doesnt really change them ;) google "slam bit" or look for a vidtut on it ;)
  • [ 12:51] Gecko Linden: Seems like its after the user has crossed over - or the first time the objects are rezed
  • [ 12:51] Soft Linden: Is that something others have experienced, or should we ask the reporter to clarify?
  • [ 12:51] Gecko Linden: nmi I say
  • [ 12:51] Soft Linden: ie - has anyone here had http requests stop working just after moving into a region?
  • [ 12:51] Kona Linden: Well they did say his objects being rezzed IN the sim and by others
  • [ 12:51] Squirrel Wood: changing permissions in inventory is a bit like playing a slot machine
  • [ 12:52] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I just asked a friend who fiddles with that a lot and he says he's not come across that before.
  • [ 12:52] Soft Linden: Yeah. Let's NMI, ask for step-by-step, what happened
  • [ 12:52] Squirrel Wood: could it be that the answer to the request is still sent to the old sim ?
  • [ 12:53] Kona Linden: kk
  • [ 12:53] Squirrel Wood: but since the object isn't there anymore...
  • [ 12:53] Soft Linden: right. responses don't get forwarded... but not sure if that's what they're saying happened
  • [ 12:53] Bau Ur: maybe its id number is still there, but belongs to a different object.
  • [ 12:53] Squirrel Wood: I see it as a possibility
  • [ 12:54] Bau Ur: region-specific local ID
  • [ 12:54] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12392
  • [ 12:54] Phillip Vought: could be the server is lagging during handoff?
  • [ 12:54] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: I have 100% CPU usage on a dual-core at the moment.
  • [ 12:54] Bau Ur: whoah.
  • [ 12:54] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: But AMD, not Intel.
  • [ 12:54] Phillip Vought: not AGAIN :)
  • [ 12:54] Kona Linden: nice
  • [ 12:54] Squirrel Wood: VWR-14604 is also a 100% cpu use issue.. related mesay
  • [#VWR-14604] uses 100%: of CPU on Windows 7 RC 7100
  • [ 12:54] Soft Linden: Looks like a duplicate of VWR-5574
  • [#VWR-5574] load sticking: at 100% on both cores of Core2Duo (Mac *and* PC) computers
  • [ 12:55] Phillip Vought: sigh.. this is the way good apps are SUPPOSED to work ;)
  • [ 12:55] Bau Ur:  ?
  • [ 12:55] Phillip Vought: let the CPU throttle the app ;)
  • [ 12:55] Lupey Severine: SL never seems to go over 40% on a single core for me
  • [ 12:55] Sheet Spotter: Check if SLVoice.exe is taking up one core. It does that sometimes when it crashes.
  • [ 12:55] Erinyse Planer: Ive noticed while this happens on 1.23.4 it doesnt happen for me on snowglobe
  • [ 12:55] Soft Linden: Well, not really. They're saying they switch to another window and it stays 100% on one core.
  • [ 12:55] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Even wth Use Multiple Threads off, I'm still at 100%. This only happens on my nVidia graphics card though.
  • [ 12:55] Lupey Severine: and I have a realy crappy CPU
  • [ 12:55] Soft Linden: That shouldn't happen. Makes me suspect a hung texture decode thread
  • [ 12:55] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: with*
  • [ 12:55] Bau Ur: or some kind of hangup
  • [ 12:55] Soft Linden: Or Vivox getting freaky on us again
  • [ 12:56] Techwolf Lupindo: SLVoice will take 100% CPU on a core when exiting or crashing for about a minute.
  • [ 12:56] Skills Hak: back
  • [ 12:56] Soft Linden: Yeah.
  • [ 12:56] Bau Ur: a minute after exiting?
  • [ 12:56] Soft Linden: Anyway - would resolve as a dupe of VWR-5574
  • [ 12:56] Kona Linden: so what's the suggestion for: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12392
  • [ 12:56] Erinyse Planer: the only way i get 100% on both cpu's in snowglobe is if i am running 3-4 instances or voice crashes
  • [ 12:56] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: If I have another window active infront of SL, it drops to 90%.
  • [ 12:57] Soft Linden: Kona - would resolve as a dupe of VWR-5574
  • [ 12:57] Kona Linden: kk
  • [ 12:57] Kona Linden: ty
  • [ 12:57] Phillip Vought: SL gives up a configureable amount of time in the background
  • [ 12:57] Soft Linden: 3-4 instances D:
  • [ 12:57] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: 10% though? :)
  • [ 12:57] Erinyse Planer: yeah soft
  • [ 12:57] Erinyse Planer: whatever reason... snowglobe likes my system almsot as much as your standard client HATES it
  • [ 12:57] Erinyse Planer: lol
  • [ 12:57] Soft Linden: When you go to a club, you don't have to bring all the other patrons yourself!
  • [ 12:57] Phillip Vought: I have snowglobe set to use the top 4 cores and everything else the bottom 4
  • [ 12:58] Erinyse Planer: hahaha soft
  • [ 12:58] Soft Linden: Snowglobe has a looooot of nice reworking of the texture pipeline
  • [ 12:58] Sheet Spotter: Oooo...configurable?:-)
  • [ 12:58] Phillip Vought: and i get it running at 100% on each core if i run enough instances
  • [ 12:58] Soft Linden: So it may well resolve some nasty threading issues
  • [ 12:58] Erinyse Planer: thats usually when im trying to shuffle inventory betwene avis or get freebies or deals at stroes i like *winks*
  • [ 12:58] Kona Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-13898
  • [ 12:59] Squirrel Wood: does the user know about the first and second frame differences defining the static / nonstatic parts of the animation ?
  • [ 12:59] Soft Linden: Squirrel - could you add that in a comment?
  • [ 12:59] Squirrel Wood: I shall
  • [ 12:59] Soft Linden: Other than that - they included a sample BVH. So if they say that's covered, we can use that and investigate
  • [ 13:00] Soft Linden: woot for repro
  • [ 13:00] Erinyse Planer: soft if yould like a good writeup of my snowglobe experiences on the currant release i can im you a link
  • [ 13:00] Soft Linden: Ah, I would't have anywhere to put that Erinyse. Maybe in the forums or on sldev?
  • [ 13:00] Squirrel Wood: commented
  • [ 13:00] Erinyse Planer: its jsut a link to a blog i staff lol
  • [ 13:01] Bau Ur: Looking through JIRAs...wasnt' there something about Snowglobe screwing up texture loading in Homestead sims?
  • [ 13:01] Soft Linden: For this issue, how about we leave it until next week, see if they reply to squirrel's comment
  • [ 13:01] Bau Ur: nevermind if it isn't relevant
  • [ 13:01] Kona Linden: kk, NMI for now then
  • [ 13:01] Soft Linden: Dunno about Snowglobe messing up in Homesteads. I think there was some issue with Opensim though.
  • [ 13:01] Bau Ur: Yes, that was it.
  • [ 13:01] Soft Linden: Probably related to the fixes for sending not enough information at a given discard level
  • [ 13:02] Soft Linden: Opensim may have hard coded size assumptions that got changed by that fix
  • [ 13:02] Kona Linden: Ok folks! that's it!
