- [12:01] Alexa Linden: first up - https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6484
- [12:01] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#VWR-6484|JIRA-helper: [#VWR-6484]]:
- [12:01] Fred Rookstown: Yeah.
- [12:02] Fred Rookstown: That's been around since Havok 4, flabberghasts me as to how that can occur.
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: this is marked fix pending
- [12:02] Soft Linden: Hrm. Internally, I don't see it as fixed though.
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: neither do I
- [12:02] Soft Linden: It's actually been around longer than that.
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: time to poke and possibly re-triage internally?
- [12:02] Drew Dwi: Linden Lab Issue ID: DEV-15355
- Linden Lab Internal Branch: 1.20 RC
- [12:03] Soft Linden: It's just that nobody was hanging around that high before havok4
- [12:03] Drew Dwi: 1.20 o.O
- [12:03] Squirrel Wood: but h4 has been out for quite some time now ^^
- [12:03] Panic Xenobuilder: nobody != not many
- [12:03] Soft Linden: This is really a basic bit of functionality that's broken. I think it needs more than 'normal' priority internal
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: ok, will upgrade, poke and sent back to triage?
- [12:04] Soft Linden: Actually, there's a major dupe already assigned to Andrew - DEV-23383
- [12:04] Imaze Rhiano: I think that it was related that coordinates are sended in protocol level by very small numbers - not enough bits to accurate positioning
- [12:04] Soft Linden: So this pJIRA should be marked as a dupe of VWR-9326 to match the internal setup...
- [12:04] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9326:
- [#VWR-9326] on the: map above 1024 meters appear at 0 .
- [12:04] xstorm Radek: snack ?
- [12:04] Soft Linden: And then we can give that a nudge
- [12:04] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:04] Soft Linden: Right. It just uses a byte for the Z value, divided by four.
- [12:05] Soft Linden: We need to extend the packet with a better precision Z
- [12:05] Alexa Linden: also marked as fix pending we have https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-4137
- [12:05] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#VWR-4137|JIRA-helper: [#VWR-4137]]:
- [12:05] Fred Rookstown: Maybe those > 1024 should be set to 1024 to maintain compatability?
- [12:05] Imaze Rhiano: and that then comes to infinity / zero territory?
- [12:05] Soft Linden: Would make sense, Fred
- [12:06] xstorm Radek: i hope no one will use Second Life 1.23.5 (136274) Oct 14 2009 13:31:23 (Second Life Release Candidate)
- [12:06] xstorm Radek: some textures seem to crash it
- [12:06] Soft Linden: I don't think maint-viewer-14 was part of viewer 1.23
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: this also needs an internal status update
- [12:07] Soft Linden: That's open again internally too
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: yup, I'll take it and find out waht's up
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: what's*
- [12:07] Soft Linden: It's assigned to me internally. I'll check this against the pending viewer
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: thanks
- [12:08] Soft Linden: Also nudging it up from small priority internally :P
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4937
- [12:08] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-4937|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-4937]]:
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: already imported....
- [12:09] Soft Linden: That one's basically just waiting for a free engineer.
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: update triage date then?
- [12:09] Soft Linden: Yeah.
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3514
- [12:09] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-3514|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-3514]]:
- [12:09] Imaze Rhiano: feature request?
- [12:09] Fred Rookstown: Original issue for that one's been around since '07.
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: ya this is a feature request
- [12:10] Soft Linden: It's imported, and same thing - waiting on a core engineer
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: updating triaged date then
- [12:10] Panic Xenobuilder: dialog spam attacks are daily event in LL sandboxes these days
- [12:10] Alexa Linden: ahhh a fresh jira.... https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5239
- [12:10] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5239|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5239]]:
- [12:11] Soft Linden: Panic makes a good point.
- [12:11] Soft Linden: The last one, I'm going to nudge the internal priority up to Major from Normal and add the griefing tag.
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: thanks
- [12:12] Imaze Rhiano: I can confirm SVC-5239
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: TY Imaze
- [12:12] Fred Rookstown: Thanks, soft
- [12:12] Soft Linden: Yeah, this should be imported
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: I'll go ahead and import this
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4968
- [12:13] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-4968|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-4968]]:
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: this is valid...
- [12:13] Soft Linden: Yup!
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: not sure what the fix is....
- [12:14] Soft Linden: Should be in core. This message should be moved over to TCP
- [12:14] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: and I'd be suprised if we don't already have this somewhere
- [12:14] Squirrel Wood: big groups are big.. mayhaps patience is th solution?
- [12:14] Soft Linden: peeks...
- [12:14] Aargle Zymurgy: frowns.... "how much is too many?"
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: I can look for a match after the meeting too...
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: yes, that would be the natural question then
- [12:15] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5271
- [12:15] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5271|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5271]]:
- [12:15] xstorm Radek: hhhmmm ?
- [12:15] Morgaine Dinova: Loading full lists of anything doesn't scale. Same applies to inventory and everything else.
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: nods
- [12:16] Soft Linden: Let's NMI this, ask for a specific region where it happens
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:16] Squirrel Wood: objects should not be totally lost.. where does it happen?
- [12:16] Soft Linden: I wouldn't be surprised if it depended on whether another region was next door or not, or whether edge parcels had object entry enabled or similar
- [12:16] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11712
- [12:16] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#VWR-11712|JIRA-helper: [#VWR-11712]]:
- [12:17] Entering god: mode, level 150
- [12:17] Squirrel Wood: if the parcel has no entry and no scripts set then the object may become stuck and not returned at all.. if autoreturn is set to 0 too..
- [12:17] Imaze Rhiano: maybe in one of those smaller sims
- [12:17] Aargle Zymurgy: Squirrel, items DO get totally lost, unfortunately
- [12:17] xstorm Radek: well welll offworld = lost
- [12:17] Soft Linden: Interesting. Inner claims this only happens on the 'Ear' region?
- [12:17] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:18] xstorm Radek: so thats true
- [12:18] Soft Linden: Anyone wanna run to Ear real quick and try this?
- [12:18] Soft Linden: I'm wondering if it's going to turn out that they're using the blank texture as the media texture or such
- [12:18] Aargle Zymurgy: Inner? ear? hm
- [12:18] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:18] Object: getting: perms...
- [12:18] Object: Trying: to link with :c6167dfd-28e4-e570-93d2-2b1f09be1572
- [12:18] Object: link: successfull!
- [12:19] Fred Rookstown: Soft: Emerald team found a viewer-side issue where (they're still puzzling over it) a NULL media texture could result in the media displaying on blank textures, which results in amusing types of advertising.
- [12:19] Object: getting: perms...
- [12:19] Object: Trying: to link with :847531b2-f12d-4a0a-29d9-55775a126857
- [12:19] Object: link: successfull!
- [12:19] Aargle Zymurgy: what should happen at Ear?
- [12:19] Fred Rookstown: Could be related.
- [12:19] Soft Linden: Sure sounds feasible.
- [12:19] Object: link: successfull!
- [12:19] Object: getting: perms...
- [12:19] Soft Linden: Let's NMI, asking someone to verify on Ear, and to make sure that they aren't set up to use a null texture as the media texture.
- [12:19] Object: Trying: to link with :847531b2-f12d-4a0a-29d9-55775a126857
- [12:19] Object: Trying: to link with :c6167dfd-28e4-e570-93d2-2b1f09be1572
- [12:19] Object: link: successfull!
- [12:19] Object: link: successfull!
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:19] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2665
- [12:19] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-2665|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-2665]]:
- [12:20] Aargle Zymurgy: waves his hand.... "I know this one."
- [12:20] Imaze Rhiano: I can't confirm those
- [12:20] Soft Linden: What's up, Aargle?
- [12:20] Aargle Zymurgy: well, it's not that server....
- [12:20] Aargle Zymurgy: but there's SOMETHING in the servers that goes wrong over time.
- [12:20] Aargle Zymurgy: then links will permanently fail until the sim is reset.
- [12:21] Imaze Rhiano: cursed servers? :P
- [12:21] Aargle Zymurgy: well, from what I understand about it, nobody knows how it starts.
- [12:21] Fred Rookstown: Sounds like a horrible sideeffect of a memoryleak </obvious
- [12:21] xstorm Radek: so why do the prims that go off world no longer go to lost inventory ?
- [12:21] Imaze Rhiano: how many scripts there is running?
- [12:22] Aargle Zymurgy: I have all my product updates done by doing links and occasional rebuilds
- [12:22] Aargle Zymurgy: I now script so I detect a failed link and suggest to the owner to do a sim reset, or file a ticket for the same.
- [12:22] Soft Linden: So this is a dupe of SVC-1022
- [12:22] Aargle Zymurgy: after that, the problems goes away for a while
- [12:22] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1022:
- [#SVC-1022] link-related commands: spontaniously fail silently til sim reboot ( ReOpened )
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: ty soft
- [12:23] Soft Linden: But for SVC-1022, we should NMI, asking people to contact concierge and point them at that issue when linking fails...
- [12:23] Soft Linden: Then an engineer can look at sim logs for clues
- [12:23] Soft Linden: When the link operation fails, it should spam the log pretty noisily
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5288
- [12:23] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5288|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5288]]:
- [12:23] Aargle Zymurgy: the only other thing I know is that it doesn't hapepn in my own sim.... I know, because I do the development of my linked stuff... however, there must be something odd happening in other sims.
- [12:24] xstorm Radek: glad its all small so far
- [12:24] Imaze Rhiano: well.. it doesn't happen here either - maybe you could do such way that it reports sim's name back for you when it fails?
- [12:24] Soft Linden: "Mail from other SIM doesn't reach the object that UUID starts from 6. "
- [12:25] Soft Linden: It's so cool that the Lost scriptwriters are using SL!
- [12:25] Fred Rookstown: lol
- [12:26] Soft Linden: There definitely are mail reliability issues. This was probably a result of one of those... but there's not enough info here to act on
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: nmi and......
- [12:26] Soft Linden: And Ella really said the rest already
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: :)
- [12:26] Fred Rookstown: Mail reliability is a problem that's been around since the beginning of time. Just a factor to consider when looking at using mail for communications.
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5299
- [12:27] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5299|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5299]]:
- [12:27] Fred Rookstown: contact support?
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: yup Fred :)
- [12:27] Imaze Rhiano: call repairman?
- [12:27] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: You mean call the handyman. :p
- [12:27] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5307
- [12:27] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5307|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5307]]:
- [12:28] Soft Linden: Looks valid, but I'd say Normal priority at best
- [12:28] Soft Linden: Would import
- [12:28] Drew Dwi: mmm
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: 5307 soft?
- [12:28] Soft Linden: Yup!
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:28] SL Status: [Notice
- [12:28] Drew Dwi: I bet that will come back as expected behavior as the region is where it was sent from not where it was shot?
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5237
- [12:29] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5237|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-5237]]:
- [12:29] Drew Dwi: since the region sends the email or passes it to be sent?
- [12:29] Soft Linden: The simhost itself sends the mail, yeah.
- [12:30] Soft Linden: For this, I'd ask Benjamin.
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:30] Soft Linden: I'd bet it's as people guess below - he's not considering the fact that a 90 degree rotation would indeed swap two axes
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-388
- [12:31] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-388|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-388]]:
- [12:31] Soft Linden: Oh fun!
- [12:31] Soft Linden: Yes, definitely import!
- [12:31] Soft Linden: If llSleep really makes it work, that's even more fun. Babbage should love this :)
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-9093
- [12:31] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#VWR-9093|JIRA-helper: [#VWR-9093]]:
- [12:31] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:32] Squirrel Wood: gave you V2BetaTestGroupLogo.
- [12:32] Fred Rookstown: Lol
- [12:32] Imaze Rhiano: humm.. haven't noticed that
- [12:32] Imaze Rhiano: do I look muscular?
- [12:33] Fred Rookstown: There's plenty of appearance-related peculiarities.
- [12:33] Soft Linden: I'd import with a note to look at theBlackUrchin Night's comment. I bet he's right, and it's pulling from the wrong gender's values
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4900
- [12:33] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-4900|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-4900]]:
- [12:34] Fred Rookstown: While you're in there, might consider cleaning out all the unused params
- [12:34] Fred Rookstown: :p
- [12:34] Imaze Rhiano: like male body --> max muscular allways?
- [12:34] Soft Linden: There's an RFC that indicates exactly which characters should be escaped... anyone got it?
- [12:35] Aargle Zymurgy: reserved = ";" | "/" | "?" | ":" | "@" | "&" | "=" | "+" |
- "$" | ","
- [12:35] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:36] Soft Linden: I hate just importing to ask someone to tweak one character instead of making it fully correct
- [12:37] Soft Linden: Ah yeah - import with a note to look at rfc2396 section 2.2 for Aargle's list there
- [12:37] Fred Rookstown: Well, I've noticed a LOT of wird things when attempting to use llEscapeURL to "encrypt" strings. C# has some incompatabilities with LSL's implementation, apparently.
- [12:37] Fred Rookstown: *weird
- [12:37] Alexa Linden: so importing then?
- [12:37] Soft Linden: yup!
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4860
- [12:38] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-4860|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-4860]]:
- [12:38] Object: plain: ;/?:@&=+
- [12:38] Object: Escaped: %3B%2F%3F%3A%40%26%3D%2B
- [12:38] Object: UnEscaped: ;/?:@&=+
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: am I misreading this one?
- [12:39] Aargle Zymurgy: maybe if there is an actual + in the stream in reverse
- [12:39] Aargle Zymurgy: llSay( 0, llUnescapeURL( "%3B+%40" ) );
- [12:39] Fred Rookstown: "+" -> " " afaik
- [12:39] Aargle Zymurgy: which, I guess, isn't proper anyways
- [12:40] Fred Rookstown: If it's in the RFC....
- [12:40] Object: plain: ; /?:@&=+
- [12:40] Object: Escaped: %3B%20%2F%3F%3A%40%26%3D%2B
- [12:40] Object: UnEscaped: ; /?:@&=+
- [12:40] Object: Hello,: Avatar!
- [12:40] Soft Linden: I think Kelly's close enough to that that he'd have a quick definitive answer. Maybe on the last one, add Kelly as a watcher, Alexa?
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: on 4900?
- [12:41] Soft Linden: Yup
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: back to https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4860
- [12:41] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#SVC-4860|JIRA-helper: [#SVC-4860]]:
- [12:41] Soft Linden: On this one, this might be by design... I think it's a feature request.
- [12:41] Soft Linden: What are the use cases for setting a parcel to blocked TP?
- [12:42] Object: Input: %20+
- [12:42] Object: Unescaped: +
- [12:42] Object: Expected:
- [12:42] Soft Linden: I'm thinking like combat games, for example, where you don't want one person getting into the enemy base to be able to instantly summon all the other soldiers
- [12:42] Alexa Linden: not sure, rp maybe
- [12:42] Alexa Linden: jinx
- [12:43] Squirrel Wood: privacy?
- [12:43] Drew Dwi: or damaged enabled sims
- [12:43] Drew Dwi: where they want everyone to land in the same place
- [12:43] Morgaine Dinova: TP blocking is abused, that's the trouble with it. Hard one to call.
- [12:43] Fred Rookstown: Soft's right.
- [12:43] Fred Rookstown: However, if done by the OWNER...
- [12:43] Soft Linden: I think it should be converted to a feature request, and it needs some discussion before we'd import
- [12:43] Panic Xenobuilder: owner should override parcel settings
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: ok makes sense
- [12:43] Soft Linden: That's a fair poin, too
- [12:43] Soft Linden: Fair point
- [12:44] Drew Dwi: yea the teleport process probably doesn't take that into account
- [12:44] Soft Linden: yeah. Convert to feature request, and maybe drop ideas like owner permission into comments
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: next up https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-12870
- [12:44] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#VWR-12870|JIRA-helper: [#VWR-12870]]:
- [12:44] Morgaine Dinova: Although there are any number of use cases for it, TP blocking really destroys the world for everyone else.
- [12:44] Fred Rookstown: Does that on 1.23, too
- [12:44] Fred Rookstown: ALSA hangs
- [12:44] Aargle Zymurgy: need to run for a bit. Soft, Alexa, thanks for spending time with us.
- [12:44] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: It's not ALSA - it's OpenAL from what I understand.
- [12:44] Soft Linden: Thanks for coming!
- [12:44] Drew Dwi: something to do with openAL
- [12:44] Fred Rookstown: yeah
- [12:45] Fred Rookstown: Possibly related: Skype will not play sounds until SL exits. When SL exits, I get an ear-splitting roar of notifications.
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: ouch
- [12:45] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: That sounds like OSS is being used. :s
- [12:45] Drew Dwi: yea it is
- [12:46] Drew Dwi: you need to move to uhh pulseaudio
- [12:46] Fred Rookstown: I have pulse installed, lol
- [12:46] Drew Dwi: or should I say upgrade
- [12:46] Soft Linden: This should be NMI - we don't have new info since we asked last time
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:46] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: Soft, can I IM you regarding this?
- [12:46] Soft Linden: Sahk - it would be better to put comments on the JIRA. I'm not the guy who would work on it
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-16535
- [12:46] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#VWR-16535|JIRA-helper: [#VWR-16535]]:
- [12:47] Soft Linden: This should be imported.
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:47] Soft Linden: I don't know if we really allow unicode there. So it's a bug that it can be put there, or it's a bug that it's displayed incorrectly
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-16294
- [12:47] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#VWR-16294|JIRA-helper: [#VWR-16294]]:
- [12:47] Panic Xenobuilder: this happens sometimes also after border cross, not only after TP, i have toyed with it but have not found stable repro
- [12:47] Soft Linden: I bet the mysql5 upgrade enabled unicode there as a side-effect.
- [12:48] Morgaine Dinova: So many headaches with audio under Linux that it should have been implemented as an Icecast socket to which a standalone player is attached on startup. Give someone else the headache.
- [12:48] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: PulseAudio causes the headaches. I get little problem on KDE. :P
- [12:48] Drew Dwi: hmm pulse has cleaned up all my sound problems
- [12:48] Soft Linden: Oh interesting, wasn't there a similar issue for attaching?
- [12:48] Soft Linden: via script
- [12:49] Morgaine Dinova: I get no problems on Gentoo either, but we're not representative.
- [12:49] Fred Rookstown: I'll uninstall pulse and see if that helps
- [12:49] Soft Linden: Alexa - I'd import and relate to DEV-44370
- [12:49] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:50] Soft Linden: Probably related to SVC-5150 publicly
- [12:50] JIRA-helper: http//jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5150:
- [#SVC-5150] for scripted: objects does not work anymore
- [12:50] Ellla McMahon: ?? [1]
- [12:50] [[User:JIRA-helper: [#VWR-12525|JIRA-helper: [#VWR-12525]]:
- [12:50] Fred Rookstown: Aha.
- [12:50] Fred Rookstown: Found the issue with pulse:
- [12:50] Fred Rookstown: pulseaudio-module-udev: Depends: pulseaudio (= 1:0.9.19-0ubuntu4.1) but it is not installable
- [12:50] Fred Rookstown: Someone put the wrong version into the repo
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8468

- [12:53] Soft Linden: And that last one is in the core scripting work queue where it should be, with major priority
- [12:53] Soft Linden: Yeah, I'd import this for the web guys to make a call. It should default to something useful if javascript doesn't run
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: ok will import
- [12:54] Soft Linden: Even if humans not running javascript is rare, most search engines don't parse through with javascript dependency.
- [12:54] Fred Rookstown: haet java
- [12:54] Alexa Linden: and that's it for today! I'll start getting things imported and updated

- [12:55] Sahkolihaa Contepomi: For people who have sound issues on Linux - try compiling OpenAL Soft 1.10 with PulseAudio (if you use it) or ALSA support - it'll hopefully fix any sound issues you have.
- [12:55] Soft Linden: Oh yeah...
- [12:55] Soft Linden: On that Linux issue, someone want to ask if they have the issue with Snowglobe too?
