SL Mentor Buddy is short for Second Life Mentor Buddy and is named in this fashion due to the limitation of the Projected Group Tag above the Avatar.

Second Life Mentor Buddies are subscribed and approved to certain people within the Second Life Mentor group.

They are here for both their Mentoring of new residents, plus they are offering advice and guidance for Second Life Mentors.
