GERMAN

German KB Translation Project

  • If you are interested in contributing to the refinement of the German viewer terminology, please, see CT-91
  • Community Standards web page (http://secondlife.com/corporate/cs.php) has been localized into German. Please, if you would, come and contribute to link updating in KB articles that link to the Community Standards English page now. Feel free to submit all the KB's that need to have this link updated here: CT-93
  • We have also opened a new component for German: German Viewer Localization. You will see that currently there are 2 tasks that have to do with internationalization and localization testing. Big thanks to Zai Lynch, Torben Trautman, and Lore Lamont for the contributions to German viewer testing. Outstanding work, guys!!!!

ITALIAN

  • Italian project is kicking off with a collaborative compiling of the Italian Viewer Glossary CT-126. We have also been doing some web strings translation for Registration (yes, secondlife.com/join will be in 9 languages, including Italian). Please, see the CT-120

SPANISH

  • Our Spanish viewer needs some love and attention from our residents as well! To kick off the project, we are starting a terminology compiling task first. Jump in here if you would like to be part of this project: CT-118. You can also view the wiki where our residents are having terminology discussion here
  • There is also now a web translation category for Spanish and the first task is already here: CT-119

OTHER PROJECTS AND LANGUAGES

  • Turkish community translation: CT-88 and VWR-2710. Thank you to Vixen Heron for leadership here!
  • Polish community translation projects: see here. We appreciate all the hard work by maciek marksman, Magnus Balczo and Malwina Dollinger for great contribution here!

Look for Polish in the list of languages in the official 1.22 release later this month.

  • Hungarian community translation: CT-85 and VWR-5733. Many thanks to Princess Niven for leadership with this language! Look for Hungarian in the list of languages in the official version of 1.22 later this month.
  • You will also see in JIRA that we have opened Simplified Chinese project. Great translations work! CT-117 Look for the new revamped Chinese version of the viewer in the upcoming official release of 1.22 later this month!
  • Czech translations are here and based on the 1.18 viewer version. All translation was done by Jarek Dejavu. CT-122
  • Russian and Ukrainian have also been added since the full viewer xml was submitted by Ian Kas and his Second Life Team. Here is the first JIRA for the project: VWR-8780. We had to fix issues that were causing that font not be displayed properly. The translation is now submitted to the translation branch and we look forward to having it live with 1.23.
  • Viewer internationalization test plan compiling JIRA is CT-81. The test is still open for contributions. Please, feel free to contribute!!! The JIRA was started with the French community but I urge anyone with knowledge of the Japanese, German, Chinese, Spanish viewer or languages like: Polish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Danish, Dutch, Hungarian, Turkish, to help us!!! Thank you in advance!!!
  • We are constantly collecting ad-hoc translations for Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and Dutch from our wonderful residents. So far, we got great support localizing login screen strings, Registration strings, the new viewer browser tutorial. If you speak these languages and want to do some translation work, please, contact us: Danica Linden and Lexie Linden would love to hear from you. :)
