[13:05] Biancaluce Robbiani: did you hear universal studios are opening Harry Potter village in Orlando, Florida?
[13:05] Wiki Scribe: hehe, read that too ^^
[13:05] Bulli Schumann: LOL
[13:05] Lexie Linden: Thanks for coming everyone : )
[13:06] Bulli Schumann: Shouldn't they do that somewhere in the UK?
[13:06] Biancaluce Robbiani: seen the videos... are gorgeus
[13:06] Biancaluce Robbiani: opps
[13:06] Lexie Linden: Ramzi did you want to start off by telling any update on the upcoming viewer project?
[13:06] Slan Sabre: you dont look so well Lexie. Are you ok?
[13:06] Lexie Linden: lol Slan : p

[13:07] Radioactive Rosca: hi. Sorry, new time for Europe...
[13:07] sergen Davies: lol
[13:07] Ramzi Linden: The only big update is that THANK YOU to those who signed up to translate for Viewer 2.0! We are going to ask the Legal team to send those people the N.D.A. document this weekk
[13:07] Lexie Linden: woot!
[13:07] Ramzi Linden: Look for it in your email in the next 3 days or so.
[13:07] Wiki Scribe: yay!
[13:07] Bulli Schumann: What happens if you enter twice?
[13:07] link Kiranov: In fact .. in the past .. Surfaqua was a man .. but I've transform him in squerrel
[13:07] Bolek Amat: Nice
[13:07] Bulli Schumann: As I can't remember if I did or not
[13:07] Ramzi Linden: Bulli, there's no problem if you sign up twice. :)
[13:07] Lexie Linden: You get an Im from me Bulli saying...stop it!
[13:07] Bulli Schumann: OK :)
[13:07] Lexie Linden: lol
[13:08] Lexie Linden: : )
[13:08] Wiki Scribe: hehe
[13:08] Surfaqua Oh: lol
[13:08] Bulli Schumann: Oh, I can handle your IM's
[13:08] Lisa Lowe: how many signed up so far?
[13:08] Ramzi Linden: Lisa, I am not sure yet! I was waiting to see if anyone else signed up yesterday, :)
[13:09] Lexie Linden: We did get an additional 10 sign ups today ㋡
[13:09] Lisa Lowe: ok
[13:09] Lexie Linden: So good participation levels so far!
[13:09] Lexie Linden: Next up is:
[13:09] Lexie Linden: Whats happening with those great pictures submitted for homepage?
[13:10] Lexie Linden: We had wonderful pictures submitted for German, French, Japanese, Spanish, Italian and Br Portuguese!!
[13:10] Lexie Linden: The plan is to use those as soon as possible and also possibly feature the locations of the pictures in a blog post as well ㋡
[13:11] Biancaluce Robbiani: great !
[13:11] Lexie Linden: Im sure many will want to visit once they see how pretty!
[13:11] Lexie Linden: When that post is ready to go up, we will give you a notice in group so you do not miss it : )
[13:11] Lisa Lowe: are they visible somewhere already?
[13:11] Lexie Linden: Also, I think this type project may continue.
[13:12] Lexie Linden: The pictures are on various pjira right now Lisa
[13:12] Lexie Linden: You can likely do a search for home page pictures and find them
[13:12] Lisa Lowe: cool :)
[13:12] Lexie Linden: Update to CT application process is next topic
[13:13] Lexie Linden: We talked about the idea of having new translators do some sample text translating prior to acceptance to the projects
[13:13] Lexie Linden: We are going to do that :))
[13:13] Bulli Schumann: Who will 'judge' them?
[13:13] Lexie Linden: Sample text is added to the new survey now and the language specialists we have will look them over.
[13:14] Lexie Linden: If it is a language we do not have a specialist for...some of you may hear from me
[13:14] Lexie Linden: If you dont mind?
[13:14] Radioactive Rosca: :-)
[13:14] Lexie Linden: I would give you a notecard and ask for your feedback
[13:15] link Kiranov: the french Jira pictures are here ; http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/CT-507
[13:15] Lexie Linden: I will define and document that possible process soon. Then let you read about it.
[13:15] Lexie Linden: Thanks link!
[13:15] Lisa Lowe: :)
[13:15] link Kiranov: french and swiss ^^
[13:15] Lexie Linden: Next topic is............
[13:15] Bulli Schumann: Will existing members go through that process as well, Lexie?
[13:15] Lexie Linden: Bulli - No
[13:16] Lexie Linden: Just brand new people
[13:16] Bulli Schumann: ok
[13:16] Lexie Linden: : ))
[13:16] Lisa Lowe: We all should ;)
[13:16] Bulli Schumann smiles at Lisa
[13:16] Lexie Linden: You think so?
[13:16] Bulli Schumann: I agree
[13:16] Lisa Lowe: j/k
[13:16] Lexie Linden: lol
[13:17] Lisa Lowe: however.....lol
[13:17] Karin Redgrave: no problem
[13:17] Radioactive Rosca: i agree with Lisa
[13:17] Lexie Linden: I think those already in should be ok. The thinking is when we do a MOTD and get many more sign ups we will want to raise the bar to entry
[13:18] link Kiranov: yeahh
[13:18] Radioactive Rosca: but the new ones could be better than us
[13:18] Lexie Linden: The group is "smaller" now and if it grows it will be more efficient if we already know that new translators can translate reasonably well
[13:18] Lexie Linden: hehe
[13:18] Lexie Linden: better than you!!
[13:18] Lexie Linden: Not possible
[13:18] Lexie Linden:
[13:18] Wiki Scribe: ^^
[13:18] Radioactive Rosca: loooool
[13:19] Ramzi Linden: :-D
[13:19] Lexie Linden: SL Answers is the next topic
[13:19] Lisa Lowe: The test text is debateble. If I am a rubbish translator and you ask my opinion, you still end up with a rubbisch translation. Even while the original translation might be ok.
[13:20] Bulli Schumann: She'll ask RadioActive :)
[13:20] Radioactive Rosca: eheheh
[13:20] Lisa Lowe: lol
[13:20] Lexie Linden: If I ask for translator feedback on text..I will be asking more than one person to get a majority feel on it
[13:20] Radioactive Rosca: i think i'tt nuke someone today...
[13:20] Lexie Linden: : ))
[13:20] Lisa Lowe: that might be a wise move :)
[13:20] Radioactive Rosca: i'll
[13:21] Lexie Linden: I think so
[13:21] Lexie Linden: When I used to ask for ad hoc translations in group...I got multiples and it allowed me to compare and see how many agreed
[13:21] Lexie Linden: Same type thing I think
[13:21] Lisa Lowe: yeah
[13:21] Lexie Linden: Maybe organized a bit better
[13:21] Lexie Linden: lol
[13:22] sergen Davies: Sorry i gotta go :)
[13:22] Lexie Linden: ok Sergen, thanks for coming!
[13:22] sergen Davies: ty lexie
[13:22] sergen Davies: bye all
[13:22] Lisa Lowe: bye sergen
[13:22] link Kiranov: bye bye
[13:22] Wiki Scribe: cu sergen =)
[13:22] Karin Redgrave: bye, cu
[13:22] Biancaluce Robbiani: bye ㋡
[13:23] Lexie Linden: Back to the next topic: SL Answers update and why it could matter to you
[13:23]
[13:24] Lexie Linden: SL Answers has been around since May 28th. During that time there have been over 184,000 views on 818 pages.
[13:24] Radioactive Rosca: wow
[13:24] Lexie Linden: This of course includes multiple language questions
[13:25] Lexie Linden: This site has had no real promotion yet either.
[13:25] Lexie Linden: If you look at the language channels you will see questions, but not as many as in English
[13:25] link Kiranov: with a lot of bad answers...
[13:25] Lexie Linden: Whats interesting is that many of the language channels have ALOT of views
[13:26] Lexie Linden: To me this means we have non English speakers looking for help in this space
[13:26] Lexie Linden: So, if you would like to help out by working in teams, picking questions and answers you think are important...
[13:27] Lexie Linden: Then translate the question and answer for a language...
[13:27] Lexie Linden: please feel free to si it
[13:27] Lexie Linden: ops
[13:27] Lexie Linden: *to do it
[13:28] Lexie Linden: If we get a good solid base of other language Q&A..it may help multiple language communities.
[13:28] Lexie Linden: Of course its optional but I think it would be very worthwhile!
[13:28] Lisa Lowe: Are there many questions in other languages also?
[13:28] Lexie Linden: Any thoughts? Like the idea..or not too interested
[13:29] Lexie Linden: There are Lisa
[13:29] Lexie Linden: Sometimes they dont end up in the right space/language channel
[13:29] Lexie Linden: If I see them I move them to that language ctaegory
[13:29] Lexie Linden: category*
[13:29] Karin Redgrave: how do we have access to the questions
[13:29] Lisa Lowe: yeah
[13:30] Lexie Linden: Reading the front page of Answers will give you an idea of popular questions and recently answered questions
[13:30] Lexie Linden: But remember, you need to do it with someone because you cannot answer your own question and mark it as helpful or correct
[13:31] Lexie Linden: I also plan to add an Italian space there soon : )
[13:31] Biancaluce Robbiani: ty...
[13:31] Lisa Lowe: I haven't really looked into it lately. Is there a Dutch section also already?
[13:31] Lexie Linden: When we begin to promote I think we will see more Residents from other than English languages. We already have PR prepared in other languages
[13:31] Lexie Linden: Not yet Lisa
[13:32] Lexie Linden: Languages will be added over time
[13:32] Lexie Linden: Also it depends on what the software supports for langauges
[13:32] Lexie Linden: Right now..it does not support BR Portuguese
[13:32] Lexie Linden: I am not sure why
[13:32] Lexie Linden: That is something I am following up on ㋡
[13:33] Biancaluce Robbiani: May we ask someone to join the team? there is an old italian forum that did a great job in answering people in italian and may be someone is interested... they did translate also TOS and CS aswell to make understand rules and netiquette
[13:33] Lisa Lowe: probably the character set or so....
[13:33] Lexie Linden: Bianca...it would be great to point people at Answers
[13:33] Wiki Scribe: weird that it supports japanese but not BR portuguese... *ponders*
[13:33] Lexie Linden: Its all about Residents helping Residents
[13:33] Biancaluce Robbiani: even if they are not ct members?
[13:33] Lexie Linden: Sure
[13:33] Lisa Lowe: right zai....lol
[13:33] Wiki Scribe: ^^
[13:34] link Kiranov: we can translate CC and Tos ??
[13:34] Lexie Linden: Many are there answering questions and they are not official volunteers...they just help!
[13:34] Lisa Lowe: Q&A is for everyone, right?
[13:34] Lexie Linden: Right Lisa
[13:34] Wiki Scribe: don't think we can translate the ToS. to touchy with the legal stuff....
[13:34] Lexie Linden: Things such as TOS or CC would not be translated there
[13:35] Lexie Linden: Right
[13:35] Biancaluce Robbiani: i do not know if was made by legal translators expert but it seems pretty well done the one they did in that italian forum
[13:36] Lexie Linden: If you think it is good, you could send a link to Noelle about it. Let her take a look
[13:36] Lisa Lowe: Is there any indication how non-english speaking reach the Q&A website. Through the Dashboard or so?
[13:36] Biancaluce Robbiani: okie tks
[13:36] Lexie Linden: : ))
[13:36] Lexie Linden: One minute on that question Lisa
[13:36] Lexie Linden: Let me take a quick look
[13:38] Lexie Linden: For the Answers main page : English, German, Dutch, Italian, French, BR Poruguese, Spanish
[13:38] Lexie Linden: That is the order for most accesses
[13:39] Lexie Linden: But there have been 63 languages total that have accessed that page
[13:39] Lisa Lowe: ok
[13:39] Biancaluce Robbiani: For those who run Firefox as web browser there is an interesting plugin that is called RSS Ticker. You can add it as plugin and then subscribe the answers pages RSS. They will scroll over the browser bar and you can see new posts coming up...
[13:39] Lexie Linden: Russian and Japanese are next
[13:39] Lexie Linden: Nice Bianca! Thanks
[13:40] Biancaluce Robbiani: yw... to make it easier lol
[13:40] Lexie Linden: Any questions on anything I mentioned so far?
[13:40] Lexie Linden: If not, any topics you wanted to bring up?
[13:41] Lisa Lowe: Anything on the CT promotion plans?
[13:41] Biancaluce Robbiani: you answered all my Q! ㋡
[13:41] Lexie Linden: Still want to do the MOTD. I have not scheduled it yet. I want to ask the team what they think good timing would be.
[13:42] Lexie Linden: My guess is within the the next month
[13:42] Lexie Linden: Then we will see how much response we get before we do another
[13:42] Lisa Lowe: Half december....just before the holidays might be a good time :)
[13:42] Lexie Linden: Hmm yes, might be a good time!
[13:43] Biancaluce Robbiani: ops my spiders lol

[13:44] Karin Redgrave: not sure
[13:44] Lexie Linden: I had too many choices. It was hard to pick
[13:44] Lisa Lowe: we don't really celabrate that here
