This picture show 3 results with the smae set of textures and characaters :
at the top , the textures are set to "alpha blend" : it s blurred but antialiased 
at the middle , the textures are set to "alpha mask" with a low value 2 : it s not blurred but not antialiased
at the middle , the textures are set to "alpha mask" with a average value 64 : it s not blurred and  is not too much pixelisated

Alpha blend textures are VERY consuming in graphica lag compared to Alpha mask etxtures
