Archivist of the James D. Watson Collection, Genentech Center for the History of Molecular Biology, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, New York. Dr. Watson is the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA and is a Nobel Laureate in Medicine. The collection contains letters of correspondence, photos, manuscripts, and memorabilia relating to the development of the field of molecular biology and modern genetics, and the initiation of the NIH Human Genome Project. Some of the lectures I have given based on this work include: "Instructing Undergraduate Students on Molecular and Cell Biology Electronic Resources: Strategies for Success," University of California, Berkeley (2007), "Science Archives and History: Facilitating Discovery through Laboratory Notebooks" given at the Three Societies Conference, University of Oxford (2008) and "Laboratory Notebooks: Preserving Digital Research Data in the Health Sciences," given at the Joint Annual Meeting of the Society of American Archivists and the Council of State Archivists (2009).
