Installing Language Fonts

Sometimes my font looks like boxes instead of text. Why? The Second Life® Viewer supports multiple languages. Some, including many East Asian languages, are displayed using double byte language fonts. If you see boxes on your screen rather than East Asian language characters, you may need to enable the East Asian Language pack in your operating system.
How to install fonts (Windows VISTA)
All languages and scripts should be enabled by default. If they are disabled, follow these steps to re-enable them:
- Start
- Control Panel
- Regional and Language Options
- Keyboards and Languages

How to install fonts (Linux)
The Linux Viewer automatically detects and uses system fonts. The packages for these fonts may be found and installed through your Linux distribution's package manager.
