Linden Home
How does Linden Home differ from other Mainland?
One of the perks of a Premium account is a 512m2 tier allocation free from tier fees. This means you can own 512m2 of land without paying monthly tier fees to Linden Lab. When using this tier allocation on the Mainland, it is necessary for you to purchase your own land using this free tier. However, one question we have received repeatedly over time is "Where is my free land with my Premium account?". While free tier allocation and free land are different, we've been listening. The Linden Home beta project is designed to provide you with land and home access using your free tier allocation. Register for your Linden Home and get started living in a themed community!
Do I have to purchase my Linden Home parcel or home?
No. Linden Home parcels and themed homes are provided to Residents wtih 512m2 available tier allocation. Each Premium account is provided with 512m2 free tier that can be used for a Linden Home.
Can I modify my Linden Home themed house?
During the Linden Home beta project your house cannot be modified. The option to modify home textures may be coming soon.
Now that I have my Linden Home, what's next?
Congratulations on your new Linden Home. There are a few steps you may want to take to ensure a pleasurable experience in your themed community.
Set your Home location
Select World > Set Home to Here to set your new Linden Home as your home location.
Create a Landmark
Create a landmark and save it to your Favorites or Landmark folder in the Inventory window. If you use another location inworld for your Home location, you'll have a quick way to return to your Linden Home parcel.
Decorate!
Personalize your Linden Home with your existing inventory items or go shopping for new items! Each Linden Home includes 117 prims for your decorating needs!
Invite your friends to your new home!
- Create a SLurl and share it with your friends.
- Take a snapshot of your new home and send it to your friends outside of Second Life using the Send via email option in the Snapshot Preview window. Your email will include your image and a SLurl to visit you inworld.
Get to know your neighbors!
Linden Home is a community themed environment. Each of your neighbors selected the same theme during registration. You already have something in common! Wave to your neighbors and make new friends.

Decorate your home by shopping on Xstreet or from inworld using the Search window.
Qualifications
My group has 512m2 available tier. Can I get Linden Home land for my group?
Linden Home land cannot be deeded to a group. If your Resident account is eligible for Linden Home land, you can set the land to your group to collaborate with other group members.
Land Use Fees
How do I know if I have 512m2 tier allocation available for Linden Home?
You can check your land holdings inworld, or from the My Account page:
- Inworld: View your land holdings and available square meters inworld. Select World > My Land from the menus at the top of the Viewer.
- My Account: Go to your My Account page. Select Land Manager then Land Use Fees.
Do I have to use my Premium account tier allocation towards Linden Home?
Linden Home is an additional land option for use with 512m2 available tier. You can use your tier towards a Linden Home, other Mainland, or contribute to group tier allocations.
I don't have 512m2 tier available and would like to register for Linden Home. Can I tier up?
Yes! If you would like to register for a Linden Home and have no available tier in your tier level, you can move up to the next tier level. Go to your My Account page. Select Land Manager, then Land Use Fees.
I've decided to purchase a Private Region and plan to downgrade my Premium account. Will my Linden Home automatically be removed from my account?
When you are ready to move on from your Linden Home, go to World > About Land from the Viewer menu. Click the Abandon Land button. The land will be removed from your account.
Land and Home Guidelines
I read the Linden Home Guidelines during registration and would like to review them again. Where can I find them?
The Linden Home Covenant is available inworld. While on your parcel, go to World > Region/Estate and click on the Covenant tab.
Linden Home is also governed by our Terms of Service (TOS) and Community Standards (CS).
Registration
Can I register for more than one Linden Home parcel?
There is a limit of one Linden Home registration per Premium account.
I didn't receive my confirmation email. What should I do?
If you didn't receive your email confirmation, be sure to check your mail program spam folder. It's possible there could have been an error in the email process, and your Linden Home is ready and waiting for you. If your Linden Home is ready, a Landmark will be sent to you inworld. If there appears to be a problem, head to the Support Portal and submit a ticket. Identify whether the email did not go through and your home is actually available, or whether there was a problem with the registration process overall.
Can I make a request to select a specific Region or parcel?
The Linden Home registration process offers theme, home type, and home naming options. Once you submit your registration, your selected home is immediately generated on the next available parcel within your selected theme. We do not offer specific parcel requests.
Infohubs
I volunteer in Second Life to help new Residents. Can I go to the Linden Home Infohubs and offer my help?
Linden Home is open to the public.
Beyond Linden Home
I've enjoyed my experience at Linden Home and would like to spread my wings with land ownership. How do I move?
Outside of the Linden Home Estate there are two other land options. Mainland can be purchased inworld or through our Land Auction. In addition, whole Private Regions are available for purchase through our Land Store, or you can lease parcels from Private Region owners.
