#REDIRECT [[Linden Lab Official:How to report an underage Resident]]

Second Life Residents often file abuse reports on other avatars because they suspect that the person they are reporting is underage. We read these reports and investigate whether there's any validity to the claim. If we find any information that leads us to believe that the report filed may be valid, we put the account in question on hold and request age verification by email.

In order to get the account off hold, the person with the account must provide a legible copy of a government-issued identification document (state ID, driver's license, passport, military ID, birth certificate) that clearly includes both their name and date of birth. This is the only type of identification acceptable for establishing age eligibility. You may send your ID via email ( by replying to the initial email sent to you regarding the request), fax, or mail.

The age verification process is usually resolved within the week. We do what we can to keep your accounts valid and active in Second Life.
