The following article explains a workaround that allows an Xstreet SL user to buy Linden Dollars (L$) without a credit card, using a PayPal account. This method works best if you have a bank account that allows you to do electronic banking.

To set yourself up to buy L$ without entering credit card information on the Second Life website:
 
# Sign up for a free PayPal account at [http://www.paypal.com paypal.com].
# When finished, click the button on the bottom of the page. A form for credit card information opens.
# Without filling out any of the credit card information, click the button on the right to continue the signup procedure.
# Activate your PayPal account as usual through the confirmation email.
# Deposit money into your PayPal account.
## Log into your PayPal account and click the '''Add Funds''' tab to deposit funds from your bank account.
## When you choose to make a deposit, PayPal shows you the bank account number from which the funds will be withdrawn, along with a unique transaction code. Use this transaction code with your deposit. It may take up to 5 days for the funds to arrive in your PayPal account.
# Once the funds are in your PayPal account, you can credit your Xstreet account and use that money to purchase L$.
 
The following are some things to keep in mind when using this method:

* Deposits from Paypal accounts may be flagged for manual review. In some cases, funds may be held up to seven days before they become active in your Xstreet account.
