- [9:01] Periapse Linden: Hello, everybody.
- [9:01] BlueWall Slade: hehe
- [9:01] sacha Magne: hello
- [9:01] BlueWall Slade: Hi
- [9:01] Periapse Linden: Sacha -- I sent you an invite to gridnauts on aditi. I'll get you into the group here to after this huddle
- [9:01] sacha Magne: sorry i intude myslef, i didn't get back any email for the interop
- [9:01] sacha Magne: thanks
- [9:02] Periapse Linden: np
- [9:02] Periapse Linden: Tao -- if you want to talk pyogp that's fine. I'm just going to first check about new issues.
- [9:03] Periapse Linden: Plus, Tess is here in case anyone has more technical issues
- [9:03] Tao Takashi: I can do if people want :)
- [9:03] Periapse Linden: Oh, I just heard a rumor. Maybe it was Enus, not you.
- [9:04] sacha Magne: for info, i let TD running for test under Osgrid
- [9:04] sacha Magne: dahlia patched it for interop
- [9:04] Kopilo Hallard: forgot he was in pjs
- [9:05] sacha Magne: feel free to use it
- [9:06] sacha Magne: nice missing image Dahlia ;)
- [9:06] Tess Linden: Hello :)
- [9:07] Periapse Linden: Hello, everyone. I'm going to sit in for Whump today.
- [9:07] Periapse Linden: He's taking a well deserved vacation
- [9:07] Dahlia Trimble: Hi Periapse :)
- [9:08] Periapse Linden: to keep this huddle short, I'd first like to know if anyone has discovered any blocking issues
- [9:08] Periapse Linden: I see about a dozen issues attached to [1]
- [9:09] Periapse Linden: This one, filed by Whump, looks to be the most serious at casual glance: [2]
- [9:09] Whichway Janus: Did my Broadcast issue make it in properly? 8705, or so I think
- [9:09] bonghit Schism: good morning everyone
- [9:10] Pixel Gausman: Periapse: i haven't seen that recently, so it's suprising that people are hitting it.
- [9:10] Periapse Linden: Whichway, what is the number? I don't see an 8705
- [9:11] Whichway Janus: Sorry, looking. BTW, I get the Permission error regularly with my sim.
- [9:11] Pixel Gausman: hmm, ok.
- [9:12] Periapse Linden: Any new issues to talk about?
- [9:12] Pixel Gausman: also, it would cut down on folks frustration in getting a sim up if someone (who has actually configured default.xml) put notes abt the external hostname (ip address ) in https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Open_Grid_Public_Beta/Open_Sim_OGP_How_To
- [9:12] Whichway Janus: Try [3] Maybe it's my end?
- [9:13] Whichway Janus: I will try again, but failed on my first try at the wiki.
- [9:13] Pixel Gausman: thx, Whichway
- [9:14] Periapse Linden: Whichway -- the wiki can be harsh at times. make sure you put your text into your copy buffer before hitting Save or Preview.
- [9:14] Bartholomew Kleiber: is the numeric IP issue also in the newer 5767 build?
- [9:14] Tao Takashi: yes
- [9:14] Tao Takashi: that's what I have
- [9:14] Periapse Linden: has had bad luck with wiki updates
- [9:14] Saijanai Kuhn: could swear that ENus said he was going to talk about Pyogp this morning
- [9:14] Bartholomew Kleiber: ok, I put mine up just before the new release ...
- [9:14] Dahlia Trimble: I'll add some notes to the How To, Pixel
- [9:15] Periapse Linden: I heard that also. But then again, I may have heard it from Sai. :-)
- [9:15] Tao Takashi: I heard it from Whump ;-)
- [9:15] Pixel Gausman: yes, ip issue still in newest build
- [9:15] Saijanai Kuhn: I don't thing I spammed that one though
- [9:15] Pixel Gausman: thx for adding the notes guys
- [9:15] Whichway Janus: Sorry, pPeriapse, 8507
- [9:15] Whichway Janus: VWR
- [9:15] Saijanai Kuhn: I think I heard Enus say it--get some OPenSIm developers onboard
- [9:16] Periapse Linden: ok, whichway, could you link it to SVC-2632?
- [9:16] Periapse Linden: SVC-2632 is related to by VWR-8507.
- [9:16] Whichway Janus: Be faster with a hink on linking issues. :-) (I'm very new)
- [9:16] Pixel Gausman: [4]
- [9:16] Periapse Linden: Otherwise it may slip through the cracks
- [9:17] Pixel Gausman: i asked whichway to open that one for me
- [9:17] Pixel Gausman: so i wouldnt forget
- [9:17] Dahlia Trimble: best way to get OpenSim devs involved would be to file bug/feature requests on the opensim mantis page
- [9:17] Periapse Linden: sure. This is for everyone trying to navigate the waters of pJIRA:
- [9:17] Periapse Linden: After you create your issue, you'll see some operations you can do on the left.
- [9:17] Pixel Gausman: the SimHost code in the viewer needs some more error checking added, that's what 8507 is for
- [9:18] Periapse Linden: One of them is to link the issue to another.
- [9:18] Pixel Gausman: Dahlia: can we file mantis against code that isnt in the trunk? you can open OGP OpenSim issues at forge page
- [9:18] Periapse Linden: click to link your issue. Select "relates to", and type or paste SVC-2632.
- [9:19] Dahlia Trimble: you mean Zha's patch?
- [9:19] Dahlia Trimble: @Pixel
- [9:19] Pixel Gausman: yeah
- [9:19] bonghit Schism: brb need to log real fast
- [9:19] Periapse Linden: Then go look at SVC-2632 and your issue should show up as "is related to by" in the meta JIRA.
- [9:19] Whichway Janus: Linked.
- [9:19] Dahlia Trimble: hmmm I;m not sure it would be effective
- [9:19] Dahlia Trimble: I'll ask around
- [9:19] BlueWall Slade: if you file a mantis agains OpenSim, you can also create a link to that from jira, if it is helpful
- [9:20] Pixel Gausman: here's the page for the OGP source [5]
- [9:20] Pixel Gausman: for OpenSIm
- [9:20] Periapse Linden: Hey, it's Leyla. Good morning
- [9:20] Leyla Linden: morning :-)
- [9:20] bonghit Schism: btwi posted my snapshot on the mailing list
- [9:20] sacha Magne: evening
- [9:21] bonghit Schism: of successfully geetting into my r sim via opengrid
- [9:21] Tao Takashi: Hey Leyla
- [9:21] Periapse Linden: well, for Leyla it's morning. And it's early. Had your coffee, Leyla?
- [9:21] Pixel Gausman: she looks sleepy
- [9:21] Pixel Gausman: :)
- [9:22] Leyla Linden: no coffee yet...
- [9:22] bonghit Schism: mmmm coffee
- [9:22] bonghit Schism: that sounds good lol
- [9:23] Periapse Linden: So, folks, here's your chance to ask Tess or Leyla any burning questions you have. We've got about 8 minutes left for the huddle.
- [9:23] sacha Magne: just for a newbee: Interop works with standalone only ?
- [9:23] sacha Magne: or both grid /standalone
- [9:23] Saijanai Kuhn: Enus online not sure if he's coming by or not
- [9:23] bonghit Schism: yes i have a quick question is there going to be a new viewer release to fix the casper issue?
- [9:23] Pixel Gausman: resists asking abt AgentMovementComplete. :)
- [9:23] Leyla Linden: casper issue?
- [9:23] bonghit Schism: everytime i log into Open grid
- [9:24] Pixel Gausman: casper issue is OpenSim issue, i *think*
- [9:24] bonghit Schism: i m all whspy
- [9:24] Tess Linden: Leyla's the woman behind most of your top issues right now, go Leyla!!
- [9:24] Leyla Linden: ah, yes, ha ha, casper
- [9:24] Periapse Linden: even if you log directly into opensim?
- [9:24] bonghit Schism: no
- [9:24] Pixel Gausman: i never see it on Linden Sims
- [9:24] Kopilo Hallard: perfers casper to ruth
- [9:24] bonghit Schism: if i m directly in opensim
- [9:24] bonghit Schism: i m ruthed
- [9:25] Periapse Linden: pefers "lumorphous blob", but caspar is much shorter to type
- [9:25] bonghit Schism: YEEEAAAAHH!!!
- [9:25] bonghit Schism: hehe
- [9:25] Malburns Writer: lol
- [9:25] Kopilo Hallard: xD
- [9:25] Saijanai Kuhn: OK, that explains that Enus will be at the office hours filling in for Whump at 1:30 today
- [9:25] Pixel Gausman: ruth is ok, casper not ok. there are also OpenSim ghosting issues in the trunk.... mantis 510, 1054
- [9:25] Chris Samtanko: If you log into opensim first you are ruthed. If you log into SL first you are caspered :)
- [9:25] bonghit Schism: YEEEAAAAHH!!!
- [9:25] sacha Magne: puRrrRrRrrrrRrr
- [9:25] bonghit Schism: sorry stupid getres
- [9:25] bonghit Schism: gesture ^ lol
- [9:25] Leyla Linden: it's going to be part of work we do in the future
- [9:26] Leyla Linden: but i fear casper may remain for a little while
- [9:26] bonghit Schism: not worries i was just curious as to what the status was with that
- [9:26] Leyla Linden: until we get assets/permissions tackled
- [9:26] bonghit Schism: YEEEAAAAHH!!!
- [9:26] Periapse Linden: Casper, ruth, blob. I just want to be ME!
- [9:26] Whichway Janus: IP Number note added to OGPB wiki.
- [9:26] Pixel Gausman: Leyla: does it have something to do with de-rez on OpenSim?
- [9:26] bonghit Schism: right lol
- [9:26] Saijanai Kuhn: wants a configureable cloud avie type
- [9:27] Leyla Linden: Pixel, I think it's a combination of assets we aren't sending and viewer caching
- [9:27] Pixel Gausman: i guess i need to go read up on casper, and see if there are a lot of details on specific re-create scenarios for casper
- [9:27] Malburns Writer: If i log in first with opengrid to Aditi my region TP box is not available - only when i log in direct to an opensim url - is that right?
- [9:27] Saijanai Kuhn: Q wrote that code in the viewer
- [9:27] bonghit Schism: for me its just simply a matter of logging into opengrid
- [9:28] Saijanai Kuhn: Qarl
- [9:28] Pixel Gausman: Leyla: was someone going to write up a blurb on viewer caching?
- [9:28] Pixel Gausman: that would help immernsely
- [9:28] Pixel Gausman: for the _EXTERNAL issues too
- [9:28] Pixel Gausman: and perhaps casper
- [9:28] Leyla Linden: Pixel, I think it's a bit of a grey area right now, we have a team that was going to work on it and do a right up but it hasn't happened yet
- [9:28] Whichway Janus: Does any body else get Packet Overrun error on the OPG Viewer when logged onto an OPG OpenSim?
- [9:29] Leyla Linden: I was going to look at the _EXTERNAL issue though, i think it might be unrelated to the caching
- [9:29] Pixel Gausman: ok, just a gentle request.
- [9:29] Leyla Linden: Whichway, not I
- [9:29] Malburns Writer: hi tara
- [9:29] Dahlia Trimble: @Pixel there looks like there is a bug section on the forge where Zha's patch is hosted
- [9:29] Pixel Gausman: Leyla: it has to be caching _EXTERNAL, since it persists across viewer sessions
- [9:29] Pixel Gausman: right?
- [9:29] Pixel Gausman: Dahlia: yeah
- [9:30] Whichway Janus: Hmm. Ok. I'll try to narrow it down a little more, but now I have to run to keep my day job.
- [9:30] Tara5 Oh: Hi there!
- [9:30] Pixel Gausman: that's what whump and zha are triaging
- [9:30] Dahlia Trimble: Hi Tara5 :)
- [9:30] Leyla Linden: yes, but i assumed that would eventually get replaced by an update Pixel
- [9:30] Pixel Gausman: Whichway: yes, i get that
- [9:30] Pixel Gausman: ...but packet overruns arent uncommon with OpenSim
- [9:30] Tara5 Oh: I have to run for lunch too but my OGP sim is working nicely again it seems on the new patch
- [9:30] Whichway Janus: See you all alter.
- [9:31] Leyla Linden: I think we only cache until the simulator sends down information, but I think in this case the simulator doesn't know
- [9:31] Periapse Linden: Great, Tara. anyone have last questions?
- [9:31] Pixel Gausman: leyla: hmm, ok
- [9:31] Leyla Linden: it's a "theory"
- [9:31] Tara5 Oh: yes is it important to list grid coordinates on the wiki
- [9:31] Media Hax: transcript of this meetup?
- [9:31] Tara5 Oh: i keep meaning to do that
- [9:31] Saijanai Kuhn: Ineed to head to the pyogp huddle. Will post this meeting on the wiki
- [9:31] bonghit Schism: oh i had one last question
- [9:31] Pixel Gausman: maybe i'll put prints in the Update code.
- [9:31] bonghit Schism: with the bears how does that wokr?
- [9:31] Media Hax: ty Sai
- [9:31] bonghit Schism: i posted my "proofs"
- [9:31] bonghit Schism: on the mailing list
- [9:32] Dahlia Trimble: Bears!
- [9:32] Periapse Linden: bonghit -- i dunno. it's a whump thing. Let's wait until his return
- [9:32] bonghit Schism: Ok thanks
- [9:32] Periapse Linden: I think they're some kinda reward, but I don't want to steal his thunder
- [9:32] Tara5 Oh: bfn;-) cyas later
- [9:32] Periapse Linden: (or his bears)
- [9:32] bonghit Schism: oh i understand
- [9:32] bonghit Schism: no worries :)
- [9:32] Pixel Gausman: bonghit: will code for bear?
- [9:32] Kopilo Hallard: lol
- [9:32] bonghit Schism: hehehe
- [9:33] Periapse Linden: Cheers, all. Safe flying!
- [9:33] sacha Magne: will code for beer
- [9:33] Saijanai Kuhn: OK heading to pyogp meeting at Levenhall
- [9:33] bonghit Schism: was thinking more like interop forbear
- [9:33] Tess Linden: Does that mean that vaak regions should also have _EXTERNAL ?
- [9:33] Kopilo Hallard: safe landings
- [9:33] bonghit Schism: haha
- [9:33] BlueWall Slade: do they come with a Zero Prim Rezzer?
- [9:33] Media Hax: Bears are godless killing machines
- [9:33] Bartholomew Kleiber: performance killing machines?
- [9:33] Kopilo Hallard: there is no such thing as a zero prim rezzor xD
- [9:34] BlueWall Slade: sure there is - for the unknowing :)
