- [14:05] Rob Linden: hi folks, sorry for being late
- [14:05] Squirrel Wood: The agenda seems rather short today
- [14:05] Poppy Linden: no agenda? anarchy day?
- [14:05] Rob Linden: I just flew down to San Francisco. boy are my arms tired (/rimshot)
- [14:05] Nila Dench: hehe
- [14:06] Dzonatas Sol: migrating birds
- [14:06] Dzonatas Sol: (and hippos)
- [14:06] Rob Linden: pulls down agenda
- [14:06] Poppy Linden: doesn't look like there's much movement on the gstreamer or openal... anyone poke tofu?
- [14:06] Rob Linden: sees none
- [14:06] Sheet Spotter: I'm not sure if this is the place to ask, but...Is there a class diagram for the open source viewer?
- [14:07] Rob Linden: ok....I declare this a triage meeting for the jira.secondlife.com and wiki.secondlife.com issues
- [14:07] Michelle2 Zenovka: Poppy, gstreamer is now working for me on linux standalone builds
- [14:07] Rob Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?mode=hide&requestId=10485
- [14:08] Dzonatas Sol: Liana, I sent you an IM. =)
- [14:08] Squirrel Wood: You do not have the permission to view the selected private filter.
- [14:08] Tao Takashi: waiting... ;-)
- [14:08] Rob Linden: ah, shoot
- [14:08] Jason Swain: You do not have the permission to view the selected private filter.

- [14:08] Rob Linden: fixes
- [14:08] Squirrel Wood: You cannot view this URL as a guest. You must login .
- [14:08] Poppy Linden: i still can't view it
- [14:09] Poppy Linden: rob, is it shared globally?
- [14:09] march Korda: "You cannot view this URL as a guest. You must login . " ?
- [14:09] Rob Linden: wait....
- [14:09] Poppy Linden: i like that ding
- [14:09] Rob Linden: ok, now try
- [14:10] Rob Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-107
- [14:10] march Korda: mkey.
- [14:10] Rob Linden: I think WEB-107 may be a little too subjective to ever close
- [14:11] Dzonatas Sol: web-107 is assigned
- [14:11] Rob Linden: it should be much faster now since the upgrade
- [14:11] Squirrel Wood: I still have page loading times of 30+ seconds
- [14:11] Tao Takashi: well, I also just waited min 30 secs
- [14:11] Rob Linden: It's never going to be as fast as people want it, I don't think
- [14:11] Rob Linden: we're all hitting it at once right now
- [14:12] Tao Takashi: same for the wiki
- [14:12] march Korda: slowly cause of Database? Network? or other promblem? (I don't know ;-)
- [14:13] Poppy Linden: well, does anyone have a spare host to run apachebench on a cron job?
- [14:13] Rob Linden: anyhoo, let's move on
- [14:13] Poppy Linden: stats would be useful
- [14:13] Dzonatas Sol: it looks like the worry is more network than database speed
- [14:14] Tao Takashi: I guess only somebody with access to the system can really say what actually is slow.
- [14:14] Tao Takashi: I wonder if Jira could be load balanced
- [14:14] Rob Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-380 -- this one is planned (generallly). I just need to find the time to make the change
- [14:14] Rob Linden: (requires reindexing, which means downtime)
- [14:15] Squirrel Wood: Sounds good to me to add more states ^^
- [14:15] Rob Linden: actually, it'd be good to gather up the list of state changes into a proposed spec
- [14:15] Squirrel Wood: It would certainly allow for a more diversified feedback
- [14:16] Rob Linden: if someone wants to do that, it might help speed it up (of course, if it becomes too drastic, it could slow things down)
- [14:16] Dzonatas Sol: This is kinda related to splitting jiras
- [14:17] Dzonatas Sol: about that state change
- [14:17] Dzonatas Sol: looking for #)
- [14:18] Rob Linden: anyway, moving on: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-407
- [14:18] JetZep Zabelin: =) hi
- [14:19] Tao Takashi: has to go.. cya later all!
- [14:19] Poppy Linden: ttly Tao
- [14:19] march Korda: it looks need to pickup "Some issues " that appear pre-release versions.
- [14:19] Rob Linden: by Tao
- [14:19] Rob Linden: *bye
- [14:20] Rob Linden: This looks like a case of an issue (SVC-780), that needs to be moved over to VWR
- [14:20] Rob Linden: if it's FL specific, it's not a SVC issue
- [14:20] Squirrel Wood: Some issues cannot have pre-release versions added to the Affects Version as the entries do not exist. E.g., SVC-780 is now a FIrst Look Specific issue, but only release version numbers are available.
- [14:22] Rob Linden: Squirrel: I don't think SVC should have FL version numbers
- [14:22] Squirrel Wood: I just pasted the description ^^
- [14:22] Rob Linden: ah
- [14:23] Rob Linden: anyway...I dropped a comment. I should probably resolve/won'tfix
- [14:23] Squirrel Wood: from what I gather there are build versions missing for some bugs where people have experienced them and now cannot add them in
- [14:24] Rob Linden: that's a different issue than the specific example cited. I suppose we can de-archive old versions
- [14:24] Rob Linden: though I don't think we're going to be interested in old pre-release version numbers
- [14:24] march Korda: Trace of upgrade is annoying. However, it is required. of course.
- [14:25] Rob Linden: so, I stand by the resolve/won't fix on this.
- [14:25] Rob Linden: moving on?
- [14:25] Rob Linden: btw: I hope y'all don't mind me doing this.
- [14:26] Rob Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-402 - Firefox returns error -122623 on https ever now and then
- [14:26] Rob Linden: are people seeing this?
- [14:26] Dzonatas Sol: notes WEB-407 being related to WEB-89 (mentioned earlier)
- [14:26] Squirrel Wood: using firefox here - never saw it
- [14:26] Rob Linden: or was this an intermittent, long-since-fixed issue
- [14:26] Rob Linden: ?
- [14:27] Dzonatas Sol: I haven't seen it
- [14:27] Michelle2 Zenovka: Never seen it FF on Win or Lin
- [14:27] Rob Linden: ok, I think I'm going to resolve "cannot repro"
- [14:28] Dzonatas Sol: k
- [14:28] Rob Linden: next: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-390 Objekt does not receive Email from web
- [14:28] Rob Linden: this looks like it's got the wrong component
- [14:28] Dzonatas Sol: SVC
- [14:29] Squirrel Wood: yep. not a web issue
- [14:29] march Korda: surely.
- [14:29] Kiosk: SL: Open Source General Info whispers: Thank you! Your items will be delivered to you soon!
- [14:29] march Korda: I don't his script. so I can't repro.
- [14:29] Rob Linden: next up: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-373
- [14:30] Rob Linden: Jira session handling seems newly broken.
- [14:30] Poppy Linden: this was always a problem
- [14:30] Rob Linden: (that's the title)
- [14:30] Kiosk: SL: Open Source Developer Info whispers: Thank you! Your items will be delivered to you soon!
- [14:30] Squirrel Wood: needs more info
- [14:30] Rob Linden: oh, I had an IM conversation with him about this.
- [14:30] Rob Linden: yeah, it's always thus
- [14:30] Poppy Linden: yeah
- [14:31] Poppy Linden: afair it's been this way
- [14:31] Rob Linden: resolve/won't fix. talk to atlassian :)
- [14:31] Poppy Linden: closeables?
- [14:31] Poppy Linden: word
- [14:31] Dzonatas Sol: it is session data related, which wouldn't be shared across as noted so easily
- [14:31] Dzonatas Sol: won't fix.. Yes, Yes, ask atlassian
- [14:31] Dzonatas Sol: Yes, indeed,,
- [14:31] Rob Linden: next : https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-378 Visiting Wiki from Jira and/or following external link to Jira logs you out of Jira?
- [14:32] Dzonatas Sol: same issue as previous
- [14:32] Rob Linden: knowing how it works under the hood, I think it's highly unlikely
- [14:32] Squirrel Wood: short inactivity timeout mayhaps ?
- [14:33] Rob Linden: he could have just been using it on a day when we were having problems (which was pretty much every day for a couple months there)
- [14:34] Poppy Linden: yeah, i notice my sessions end at weird times sometimes, i just figure it's a server hiccup
- [14:34] Rob Linden: the big problems we've been having should have subsided as of December 3 or 4
- [14:34] Dzonatas Sol: In Eclipse, I use multiple tabs and the session didn't works fine across those tabs. I know it works. It does have limits.
- [14:34] Rob Linden: k....resolve/need info?
- [14:34] Dzonatas Sol: *didn't= does
- [14:35] Dzonatas Sol: yes, needs info
- [14:35] Squirrel Wood: definitely needs more info I'd say
- [14:36] Rob Linden: next: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-335
- [14:36] Squirrel Wood: relates to web-58
- [14:37] Rob Linden: I need to double check , but dev work is done on this, and we're on the verge of deploying
- [14:38] Rob Linden: this should be done fairly soon
- [14:38] Rob Linden: next....
- [14:38] Rob Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-272 Cannot add portlet
- [14:39] Squirrel Wood: bug with localization ?
- [14:39] Rob Linden: hrm....this seems like a legit problem, if it's still happening
- [14:39] Dzonatas Sol: atlassian issue it sounds like
- [14:39] Rob Linden: can anyone repro?
- [14:40] Rob Linden: these issues that result in tracebacks are often custom auth problems
- [14:40] Rob Linden: it could be a language pack problem, though
- [14:40] march Korda: hmm, japanese & IE . not repro. need more info?
- [14:40] Poppy Linden: wow, that's a big stack trace
- [14:40] Rob Linden: I know I can add portals, but I'm logged in as an admin
- [14:41] Squirrel Wood: I would have the user check it with the english version and see if it happens
- [14:42] Rob Linden: ok, I'll give it a shot on a test acct, and if I can't repro, will say so
- [14:42] march Korda: ah, https://jira.secondlife.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa is separated.but my IE cant appear right-side.mm
- [14:42] march Korda: need screen shot.
- [14:42] Rob Linden: march: you reproed?
- [14:43] march Korda: I don't understand what is promblem. sigh.
- [14:43] Poppy Linden: ttyl ppl, gtg!
- [14:43] Michelle2 Zenovka: No repro here, i added a portal on my jira home
- [14:44] Jason Swain: See you Poppy
- [14:44] Rob Linden: k... I think that's good for now. do people think this is a good use of time absent an agenda?
- [14:44] Rob Linden: finds it useful
- [14:45] Michelle2 Zenovka: I think i quick triage is always useful
- [14:45] Rob Linden: it's one way of having an agenda on the cheap, and it's an area I can speak with some authority on, so it's easier for me to lead triage
- [14:46] Rob Linden: would prefer to have an agenda, though
- [14:46] Dzonatas Sol: I thought about putting this on the Agenda, https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Dzonatas_Sol/Compiling_The_Viewer
- [14:46] Dzonatas Sol: wondered how many have tried it
- [14:47] march Korda: ok. go to next?
- [14:48] Rob Linden: Dz: I don't think we'd want to tangle scons into cmake
- [14:49] Rob Linden: if people want to keep going on the triage, I'm happy to do that, actually
- [14:49] Dzonatas Sol: There has been no concrete reason to do a complete switch to cmake.
- [14:49] Rob Linden: because it's easier to support one build conf system than it is to support two
- [14:49] : Touched.:
- [14:49] Dzonatas Sol: Rob, you are the one who originally ask me to expand scons about a half year ago. I just needed feedback. =)
- [14:51] Rob Linden: it was before we really collectively discovered cmake
- [14:51] : Touched.:
- [14:51] : Touched.:
- [14:51] Rob Linden: sees that no one else seems to have a strong opinion on the subject
- [14:52] march Korda: (VS2008 is worried;))
- [14:52] Dzonatas Sol: I haven't seen any of my e-mails on SLDev answered about cmake. I'm not sure it is collective. I have heard different opinions
- [14:52] Rob Linden: I think we should table the cmake discussion until we have a test version for people to try out
- [14:53] Rob Linden: I'm going to be working with Bos tomorrow on a plan for publishing our cmake work so far
- [14:53] Rob Linden: (Sardonyx, that is)
- [14:54] Dzonatas Sol: I understand the unified build. Even CMake uses other tools, so saying it is "one build conf" is not completely true.
- [14:54] Rob Linden: march: what do you mean by that?
- [14:54] Rob Linden: I /think/ CMake will make building with VS2008 easier
- [14:54] march Korda: sorry. just bubbled.
- [14:55] Dzonatas Sol: Anyways, times almost up.
- [14:55] Dzonatas Sol: will post transcripts soon
- [14:55] Michelle2 Zenovka: TIme for a last minute question?
- [14:55] Rob Linden: k....great, thanks Dz.
- [14:55] Rob Linden: go for it
- [14:55] Rob Linden: (if you're happy with the last minute answer)
- [14:56] Michelle2 Zenovka: the new login on 1.18.6.X web based, Tess was looking at a fall back so opensim can still be used, any news?
- [14:56] Rob Linden: there's an issue in JIRA on the subject....don't remember the issue number
- [14:56] Michelle2 Zenovka: yea, doesn't say more that that yet
- [14:56] Rob Linden: if someone wants to accelerate things, I think the basic spec is easy to agree on
- [14:56] Rob Linden: ....and we'd take a patch for an implementation
- [14:57] Rob Linden: basically, we're looking for a new --loginpage option
- [14:57] Michelle2 Zenovka: yea started looking but it didn't seem trival
- [14:58] Michelle2 Zenovka: I will have another look
- [14:58] Rob Linden: I don't know what the timeframe would be if we're left to do the work
- [14:59] Rob Linden: we've got a lot of stuff to get done
- [14:59] Michelle2 Zenovka: understand
- [14:59] Michelle2 Zenovka: well thats 3:00pm are we done?
- [14:59] Dzonatas Sol: Thank you all for being here
- [15:00] Liana Linden: Thanks, everyone.
- [15:00] Rob Linden: yup, and I have a meeting to get to
- [15:00] Rob Linden: thanks all
- [15:00] Squirrel Wood: ^^
- [15:00] Squirrel Wood: No Benjamin today
- [15:00] Michelle2 Zenovka: Bye eveyone
- [15:00] march Korda: Thank you
