Route 2 Old Viaduct, Eggar
Development has raised the level of the land here, and the small valley spanned by the viaduct shows few clues as to it's original purpose, however the arches still provide shelter from the elements for flora and fauna, and it might appear, tramps too !
Route 2 Great Seawall, Buff
The coast is broken and steep here, and a bridge takes the highway over a high falls tumbling down from above the road level.
Route 2 Ocean View, Girdler
The highway turns sharply round the coast here, forming a natural viewpoint over the ocean. A viewpoint and rez zone is here for your use.
Route 2 Tiger - Togata Tunnel, Tiger/Moma/Togata
Difficult terrain here necessitated a deep bore through the hillside to link the regions, and a substantial stone lined tunnel exists here to allow free passage. Excavations also opened up a surprise in the hillside !
Route 2 Ocean Panorama, Togata
Another sharp turn in the road to follow the coast opens up a wide vista across open ocean. Travellers may stop and tarry a while here at the viewpoint.
Route 2 Oriental Bridge, Togata
A wide ocean estuary ravine here requires a bridge to span the gap and an elegant span of vaguely oriental outline performs this task.
Route 2 Stone Viaduct, Emmelia
A stone viaduct carries the road securely across the ravine into the ocean at Emmelia. A small decrepit dock lies in the waters below for those wishing to go boating.
Route 2 Western End, Emmelia
Route 3  (North Heterocera Inland Link) : Unmissable items for your travelogue !
This road lies mainly incomplete at the time of writing, however some sections have so far been completed to provide additional transport links. An example of this is a section joining the major junction at Woolybear in the north to Emmelia on Route 2. This section required some considerable gradient engineering to overcome the differences in altitude between these regions.
Route 3/Route 2 Southern Junction, Emmelia
The two routes merge here in a T junction adjacent to the viaduct spanning the ravine.
Route 3 Lower Bank, Lunaris
The road ascends a steep bank here rises with the terrain, excellent spot for sledging if it would only snow !
Route 3 Upper Bank, Lunaris
A second rise requires a large stone embankment in order to prevent subsidence of the hillside below the woodland above.
Route 3 Hilltop Woodlands, Moma & Tridens
The high hill crest at Moma, as well as offering panoramic views of the surrounding area and not-so-distant coast, retains some natural woodland across its border with Tridens. The park also contains small lakes and a pagoda summerhouse in which weary travellers may take a breather. There is a rezzing area here too.
Route 3 Oriental Bridge, Tridens
The red oriental bridge at Tridens gracefully mimics its surrounding oriental architecture as does its twin down the ravine in Togata. From the bridge, the road heads due north across undulating terrain towards Woolybear Junction.
Route 3 Main Road
The main road along Route 3 begins at the Woolybear intersection and continues to Tussock where the SLRR intersects. This Road is 4.3km long. Below is a list of features you can find along the way.
Route 3 Polkadot Park, Polkadot
Small stone pathway leads to sunken garden beyond.  A place for rest and contemplation.

Route 6 : The High Mountain Road
Much civil engineering work has been carried out on this lonely and at times vertiginous road linking the SLRR with the Great Wall of Second Life, along a twisting, climbing route navigating the footslopes of the highest peak on the mainland, Mount Campion.
Hardy travellers not afraid of mud, giddy heights or splinters in the foot, may now travel this way. The eastern hitherto impassable cliff face sections have now been bridged and made free to explore, while the western hillsides nearer to the broken wall still require an all terrain vehicle ideally of the four legged variety .. neigh !
Route 6 : The Great Wall
Access from the heights of the wall has been made down to ground level by a trestle ramp of heavy timber construction, strong enough for most vehicles, horses, camels, elephants … whatever one's choice of transportation.
Route 6 : Athetis Rez Zone
At the foot of the ramp, the route presents itself, inviting the intrepid traveller to commence the journey, the grass covered remains of the ancient stone of the wall footings winding away like a ribbon towards distant peaks. A rez zone is here for convenience.
Route 6 : Western Trail End
The vegetation closes in, mud, weeds and the occasional puddle encouraging careful driving, or perhaps checking the speed of your trusty equine steed.
Route 6 : Deltote
The path has become overgrown here over the years, remnants of the old wall being reclaimed and softened by nature's grasp.
Route 6 : Begin the Ascent
Eventually, the path begins to climb towards higher ground, hugging a narrow stoney ledge into the foothills as the views below begin to open out.
Route 6 : Parva Rez Zone
The mountain slopes become less firm, narrow gullies necessitating bridges for easy travel where ground has given way in the past. There is a small rez zone just west of this small crossing.
Route 6 : Lota Rez Zone
Rising upwards, the ledge becomes flatter for a while, at some point here the route has been paved with stone and edged with pillars. A passing place in Lota offers the traveller an opportunity to sit and admire the view from this higher ground, also a rez zone is here
Route 6 : Moth Rez Zone
Eventually the luxury of a paved surface comes to an end, a rough track making it's way past the occasional wall fragments. Here, in Moth, is another small rez zone.
Route 6 : Fucosa Pond
Pockets of verdant green are still encountered even at this point on the mountain, such as around a small roadside pond in Fucosa, a little oasis in which to take a breather.
Route 6 : Plebeja Rez Zone
Eventually, the now log lined road starts to traverse deep gashes in the hillside and make it's way up to higher, steeper ground. A rez zone is located in Plebeja over just such an improvised bridging point.
Route 6 : Lapara Tunnel
Major subsidences, and even avalanches in deep winter are not unknown, and at the location of a cliffside waterfall in Lapara, a lengthy brick constructed avalanche tunnel may be seen.
Route 6 : Campanula Rez Zone
The clouds begin to crowd in, mist rolling down the dark slopes, the road still climbing as you begin to realise you are truly entering mountain country, a rez zone being placed here at the viewpoint.
Route 6 : Mount Campion
As the road steepens, a sign informs you that you are now traversing the footslopes of Mount Campion, the highest point on the SL mainland, and well worth exploration if you have a head for heights.
Route 6 : Taeniatum Trestle
The slopes become narrow here, not even wide enough to support a viable road. accordingly, a long timber trestle spans the plunging slopes, enabling you to continue the journey eastwards.
Route 6 : Perizoma Rez Zone
At Perizoma, a small flattened ledge between viaduct constructions is the site of another rez zone.
Route 6 : Nolidae
Beyond this point, the slopes still tumble steeply down the mountain, and a more modern concrete viaduct has replaced the trestles, perhaps due to a catastrophic collapse or fire in the past.
Route 6 : Sabre Rez Zone
Eventually, the traveller emerges onto flatter high ground at Sabre, with views across the lowlands to the south. A large rez zone marks the eastern extremity of Route 6, and you've made it through the peaks !
Route 6 : Eastern Trail End
At the far end of the rez zone are signs indicating the limit of the public road, and looking beyond .. here be trains !
Route 6 : Beyond the Road
A small path winds through the undergrowth revealing some abandoned mining heritage, an old traction engine sitting next to a rusted crank and flywheel.
Route 6 : Echoes of Industry
An old 19th century pumping house sits here at the railhead, evidence of past industries.
Route 6 : SLRR Rail Head - Pavonia
A small platform remains at this spur of the SLRR mountain branch, occasionally visited by tourist traffic, you may just be able to catch an eastbound train here.

Route 8/8A/8B/8C and the Old Wagon Road  (The "Japanese" Continent) : Konichiwa!
Because of it's shape many call this the "Japanese" continent. With that in mind the roads and public buildings along these roads have an eastern stylistic flair. Originally the roads were supposed to connect, but due to mistakes when the land was divided as the regions were brought online many of the routes end in abrupt dead ends. A system of false tunnels and billboards at dead ends will offer teleports when touched to allow travelers to easily keep exploring the road network without having to backtrack or search the map for where the road picks up again.

Route 8 Bagheera shelter, Bahheera
The Bagheera shelter at the end of the road is the perfect starting point for any exploration of the land. On the back wall is a large map of the continent showing the location of all the main routes; 8, 8A, 8B, 8C, and the Old Wagon Road. Smaller versions of this building exist all along the routes at various points to give explores an idea where they are on the overall map and to provide "rest stops".

Route 8A Aragonese Tunnel, Aragonese
Yep, another false tunnel. This one connects the broken halves of RT8A between Aragonese and Ellingson.

Route 8A Falling Rocks, Horns of Hattin
One of the most difficult tasks in constructing roads is figuring out what to do in "four corner" areas where the road runs through a spot where 4 regions meet. The region crossings can be very tricky in these spots. It's best to go slow and take the crossings one at a time. In this spot, the fallen rocks divert travelers in a way to guide them through the crossing along the best and least likely to end up crashing the client fashion.
Route 8A Tawa Rest Stop, Tawa
Small rest area with a couple of benches, a map kiosk and some trees.
Route 8B Dead end, Camazotz
RT8B dead ends in Camazotz with a billboard sign that acts as a teleport link to the Old Wagon Road in Rethymno
Old Wagon Road, Rethymno
The Old Wagon Road is a two-track unimproved roadway that only spans two regions. At either end are Billboard teleporters to take you other parts of RT8.
Route 8A dead end, Ellingson
The southern half of Route 8A ends in Eliingson where you will find two teleport billboards offering to let you continue on Route 8A in Aragonese or you can choose to go to Sababurg and take the Old Wagon Road.
Route 8C Ogilvie, Valeyard/Davros
False tunnel that allows travelers to connect to RT8 in Soulgiver (if they touch the lantern on the left) or the Old Wagon Road in Sababurg (if they touch the lantern on the right).
Route 8C Valeyard/Davros Waterway, Valeyard/Davros
Rez a boat and you can travel between Valeyard and Davros just before RT8C meets RT8.

Route 9:  The Great Way Round (Jeogeot Orbital)
This route links with Route 10 and makes a large circuit of the whole continent, requiring some challenging engineering features along the way.
Many interesting sights are to be found on this epic journey including ...
Route 9 Lordshore Bridge and Lookout Point
The picnic platform gives a stunning view of the new Lordshore suspension bridge spanning several sims.
Built with the latest materials, the bridge is over 400 meters long, with 40 meters of clearance below the main span.
Look around for surrounding wrecks and caves here !
Route 9 Deongseo Tunnel
Route 12
Route 12 is made for exploring from sea to shining sea, from the sandy beaches of the shore to the grassy hills of the interior to the rough mountain trails of the northern penninsula. This road is calling out for adventurous avatars looking to explore a continent. Along that way you will find billboards like the one here. These maps give a topographical overview of the continent and the road itself. A red star indicates your current location. The gold stars indicate points to which you can teleport. Touching the gold star will open the map. This give explorers the ability to easily navigate to parts of the route not yet explored.

Route 12 Beatrice Rest Stop, Beatrice
Close to the shores of the southwestern penninsula the rest stop in Beatrice is spartan. Little more than a few trees and a bench it is a turn around point and place to sit and contemplate which part of the continent you want to visit next.

Route 12 Dreyfus Crossroads, Dreyfus
The interesection in Dreyfus is nestled in the green hills of the continent. West is the road along the western shore to Beatrice. North is the climb over the hills toward the hairpin curve in Jaxipun and on to the off road trail on the northern point.

Route 12 Clinker END OF PAVED ROAD, Clinker
Just over the bridge in Elsa is the end of paved road. The rest of RT12 to the north is an unimproved dirt trail with steep hills, rocks, and undergrowth blocking the way. A pleasant walking or horseback riding trail the route is not recommended for large vehicles with a wide track or low clearance. 4x4 trucks and off road vehicles should do fine. Test your offroading skill on this one!

Route 12 Pouncival Roundabout, Pouncival
In Pouncival RT12 double backs on itself as the trail from Clinker snakes around the hilly terrain that makes up the northwest penninsula. To the north is a hill that will give even the best SL 4x4 a run for its money as you try to navigate around the switchback of boulders strewn in your path. Crest the hill and you're on your way through around the circuit of shear drops and undulating hills and back around to where you started.

Route 12 Donalbain Crossroads, Donalbain
The only other crossroads on RT12 Donalbain is rougly the halfway point. To the south is the short route leading to the endpoint at Camorro.

Route 13
Route 13 is a small Route approximately 2.4km long. It begins in the mountainous regions of Borland Fell, Mysten, Frenscent, Fieldore, Siliconicus, Baddest, Servo, West Helsen, Phasmogore and Effingham and ends in the lower ocean areas of Kings Bishop and Omanix. The Path traverses very winding landforms which vary in elevation creating a very interesting and fun route. Great for taking your Bicycle or Horse for a ride, however it may be too much of a challange for larger vehicles.
Route 13 Rezz Zones.
There are Three Rezz Zones along the Route.

Route 14
Nearly lost and forgotten, Route 14 is a slice of days gone by. Once dubbed "The Pixel Highway" this road once ran all the way to what is now Route 12. The Pixel Highway connected communities in the far north with those in the deep south in the days before teleporting. Today, Routes 13 and 14 are all that remain.
When the old Route 14 roadway was rediscovered, the survey Moles were shocked to find it buried underground still in remarkable condition. Made of red brick, they believed it would be a shame to cover such handiwork with asphalt. Instead, it was decided to restore it to like new condition instead.
Route 14 only passes through 12 regions from Speedstar to Mirandirge and is perfect for a short daytrip. Pack a lunch and explore a bit of history* as you go from the End Of The Line Inn to Sandy Trunks Beach... or vice versa. Along the way you'll cross Seven Chickens Bridge and Dead Mole's Curve. Be sure to stop and read the markers as you pass by.
*Note the "history" is for entertainment purposes only (i.e. we made it all up)

Sandy Beach Trail
Are you looking for a short day hike? Maybe something with a little added fun? Walk the Sandy Beach Trail!
The trail itself runs from the Gilpatric Pier and Kamalakara Beach in the north, east and south to Tessentor Bay and then southwest to Lastness Marina. Visitors can then sail between the marina and the pier or off to points unknown. Sandy Beach Trail is a short, paved, landscaped walking path and is not recommended for vehicles larger than a bicycle or scooter. Points of interest along the trail include:
Gilpatric Pier
Starting at Kamalakara Beach the pier juts out into the coastal see of Gilpatric. At the end of the pier is a public boat launch (rezzing zone). Also at the end of the pier is a free to use LDPW sailboat and kayak, or visitors can grab a freebie Gilpatric Pier life ring as a souvenir and float about to their hearts content.
Kamalakara Beach
A public beach open to all, Kamalakara has beach blankets, umbrellas and beach chairs for your enjoyment. Relax on the beach and soak up some sun with your friends. Use the semi-private beach hut for changing into your swimsuit.
Tessentor Bay
The region of Tessentor breaks the Sand Beach Trail into two sections, north and south. The north runs to Kamalakara with plenty of rest stops along the way. The south leads to Lastness and the marina there. To cross the bay travelers can rez their own boat at either end and sail across or they can click on the life ring at the dock. Sitting on the ring drops it (and you) into the water where you can then paddle across to the other side. Once you stand up the ring will disappear.
Lastness Marina
The marina at Lastness is a rezzing zone for boats that also includes a free to use sailboat like the one in Gilpatric. But don't go taking off yet! The Marina also boasts one of the nicest lighthouses in SL. Sure, there are plenty of lighthouses scattered across the mainland but few are as pleasant and cozy as Ol' Blue. Inside you'll find a library and upstairs a sitting room next to a wood burning stove. Curl up on the couch and gaze out to sea, or go all the way up for a view from the lamp house itself. At the base of the house is a souvenir life ring vendor.
TSL : The Great Highway
Since the opening up of the TSL continent to the wider world, it was immediately apparent that the highway infrastructure had suffered from very little maintenance and a possibly a few violent natural disasters to boot. The moles of the LDPW are burrowing into action to correct this and give residents a much improved travelling experience.
TSL Highway : Meiji East Rez Zone
A large paved area forms the terminal rez zone of the highway, adjacent to an old raceway and an ideal place to prepare your mode of transport before heading out onto the open roads. Please try and clean up your oil leaks and horse droppings before you leave.
TSL Highway : Meiji Cutting
The road passes through a cutting, roughly blasted in the past to allow easier passage. Several signs warn of rock falls here, however it is a pleasant leafy place from which to climb a hillock and view the surrounding valleys.
TSL Highway : Meiji Steps
At the far end of the cutting, steep steps descent the valley side to a beach area on the wide river below, plenty of seating here for a picnic and whiling away some time.
TSL Highway : Meiji Beach
Sit, meditate, enjoy some quiet time by lapping waves, or take a free sailboat ride through the deep river valleys.
TSL Highway : Zaius Coast
Steep mountainous cliffs necessitate the road striking out along a viaduct, newly constructed in traditional style from locally quarried stone. This elevated section affords wide views of the northern ocean.
TSL Highway : Zaius Ridge
Regaining high ground as it crosses the valley side into Lodestone, the road doglegs as it rises and cuts through a high ridge thickly wooded with conifers.
TSL Highway : Lodestone Rez Zone
The road descends sharply from the mountain peaks to link with the Pinkwater Highway at Lodestone, another rez zone and rest point existing here for convenience.

Highlights around the Great City of Nautilus

The Pharos, Nautilus-Byth

As intrepid seafarers approach the great water channel leading to the ancient city; strange flickering beams in the sky, followed by a sighting of a lofty tower, alert them to the presence of the treacherous Nautilean coast. This large beam-house is The Pharos, and was constructed as a navigational aid replacing a much smaller crystal beacon, the ruins of which may still be seen on a nearby outcrop. Statues of sea creatures festoon the terraces of the Pharos, whilst a large idol of Hydraea, Goddess of the Sea, faces out to the Western Sea, both embracing friend and threatening foe with upraised hands. At the top of the tower rests the main lamp house where crystal energy passes through deflection grids to be streamed out to the cardinal points of the compass, clearly visible for many miles. Halfway up the tower, within a small open chamber at the top of the great stairway, is a focussing relay crystal which controls the nature of the Pharos' beam to suit the prevailing weather conditions.

Inside the great hall at the foot of the structure lies the main crystal reactor, within a deep containment pit surrounded by an energy screen. On one side of the barriers stands the console containing the control array and spectral coolant rods. As a protection against power overload, the reactor is gated to the sea via an internal pool and underwater tunnel, so that in the event of such an emergency, it may be flooded with seawater and extinguished. This pool should be empty and serene, however the Pharos has gained an 'unofficial' resident during some phase of it's existence. A rogue scientist fell from favour with the council of Nautilean elders due to his somewhat aggressive and more than a little xenophobic attitudes toward foreign trade, building crystal powered mechanical sea boats to disrupt passing trade and seize wealth for himself. Exiled from the main citadel he barricaded himself inside the Pharos, settling inside the main chamber where he constructed a new vessel within the confines of the coolant pool, periodically venturing forth from his lair via the sea tunnel to harry vulnerable shipping and steal supplies. This undoubtedly resourceful individual was apparently not immune to the mysterious cataclysm which afflicted Nautilus in the distant past, indeed some enigmatic writings discovered within the chamber suggest he may actually have been instrumental in hastening its effects, and all that may now be seen to mark his occupancy are his last and greatest undersea vessel, a variety of somewhat incongruously added docking structures, and a scatter of books dealing with a variety of arcane and eclectic topics. Judging by the compact size of his vessel, the physical stature of the Professor did not in any way match that of his mind !

Nautilus - Byth (3, 191, 23)

Baal Public Park, Nautilus-Baal

Nautilus sports a pair of public parks adjacent to the canal bank. Furthest east lies Baal Park, which contains a small seating area where one may sit and watch crystal particle beam displays, and also a small secluded pool for relaxation and contemplation known as 'The Eye of Baal', the reason for which may be clearly seem when viewing the feature from the air.

Nautilus - Baal (69, 176, 22)

Kothar Public Park, Nautilus-Kothar

The second park is located immediately adjacent within the Kothar district and contains a large outdoor public pool and thermal spa area alongside stone walkways. This location, in addition to the wild vegetation and arboreta common to both parks, also features a large outdoor mechanical chess set, the workings of which have yet to be precisely discovered, and a natural pool within which sits a small island upon which is sited a monument of unknown assignation.

Nautilus - Kothar (3, 186, 22)

City Sea Gate, Nautilus-Melqart

Two enormous bronze gates close the sea channel against hazards where it enters the great citadel wall. These may be swung open and shut, forming a bright star in the centre which acts as a night beacon when they are closed against entry.

Nautilus - Melqart (83, 228, 25)

The Canal, Nautilus

The deep channel of The Great Canal extends from the Citadel due east, and straight as a die, to the ocean, which it meets at the turbulent waters surrounding the Pharos. The channel has become home to various flora and fauna over the years.

Nautilus - Elissa (129, 6, 10)

Magellan Linden's Mole Tank, Nautilus-Mysehi

Technically his "atomic boring machine". This 4000 ton vehicle was constructed by the LDPW moles to Magellan's specifications; powered by a 500 megawatt fission reactor, it can slowly burrow below the terrain surface. Magellan used it only once, to cross under the strange dome or shield which hid and protected the city of Nautilus.

Nautilus - Mysehi (110, 40, 23)

The Blake Sea

Connecting the Mainland to the United Sailing Sims is the Blake Sea, venue for exciting boat races and other nautical activity! A few islands exist in the Blake Sea; some of them are:

Half Hitch

The local pub "The Sailor's Knot Inn", will be pleased to welcome you for a pint of Sweaty Old Mole or some other delicious ale.

Blake Sea - Half Hitch (120, 136, 22)

Tropical resort.

Blake Sea - Windlass (176, 42, 25)

Other islands in the Blake Sea harbor smugglers, castaways, and sea creatures galore!

Sea of Fables

Mare Secundus

The Degrand Channel

Degrand, and surrounding sims to east and west

An extensive area of undersea features for the intrepid venturer to explore !

So put on your scuba set, mer-tail, or hop in your mini submarine and get under the waves.

There are sunken civilisations, black smoker volcanoes, blue hole deep sea caverns, brine lakes, lonely lighthouses, sunken vessels ...

... or a myriad other wonderful things there to be discovered, maybe even buried treasure !

A great place to start from is the small Help Island area in Degrand

Degrand (95, 187, 24)

Hatstat Ocean Area

Hatstat and surrounding regions

Descriptions to be added, in the meantime just dive into the sea and find out !

Hatstat (108, 24, 23)

There are many major items of interest in the 'adult' continent of Zindra, architectural marvels, major feats of civil engineering and of course the quirky but fun Zindra mono rail system !

Pengallen Bridge

This bridge, together with it's near twin the Silvercreek Bridge on Jeogeot was a prototype for a new design of modern suspension bridge in SL

Don't let that worry you, it's very safe !

Pengallen Bridge (99, 53, 53)

Pengallen Monument

A Springtime monument, created on May Day and full of mystical symbolism.

Spend some time here, look for the patterns, find peace.

Pengallen Bridge (139, 78, 56)

The North Reservoir

This large inland body of water is retained behind an earthen bank dam of considerable size

The dam is open access, via the buildings and tunnel entrance at the foot of the dam

Internal tunnelways deep within the dam lead to storage facilities and to the central pump tower, also accessible by internal ladder for those not afraid of heights

The belltower spillway is connected to the pump tower and contains the main outflow system, beware of falling in - it's a long way out !

The dam has been unmanned for some time, there are rumours that other stranger things have moved into the tunnels ...

Ear defenders and safety harness recommended.
