Page is locked right now, so I'll note it here - this should be added to 10_Things_You_Want_to_Know_in_Your_new_1.20_Viewer#What_are_some_Known_Issues_in_1.20.3F:

  • VWR-5297: Flycam is not yet supported on Linux.

I'd also add this:

Basically Tools menu autohiding adds no benefits, is bad UI design practice, causes confusion, has a number of illogical consequences, makes a number of building processes more complicated and is generally unpopular. —The preceding unsigned comment was added on 22:35, 24 July 2008 by Matthew Dowd

Note:

  1. The Tools menu displays in the menu bar ONLY when your avatar is editing/creating objects in build mode
  2. To enter build mode: click on the Build button, or right-click and select Create.
  3. Existing tool short cuts (CTRL + 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) all still work to select a specific tool, and will also activate the Tools menu.

You can't press the "Build" button on no-build land. The button is greyed out.

Re: Known Issues in 1.20 - using Apple's USB Mighty Mouse and a 3DConnexion SpaceNavigator. There is another workaround that does not require getting another mouse. The trick is to make sure the SpaceNavigator is on top of your USB devices list in your System Profiler.
