zoom and FOV

To any photographer these terms are not used right
To a photographer

  • zooming is what you do when you change viewing angle(focal length) and keep the viewing distance unchanged. FOV will change when you zoom
  • zooming is NOT moving the camera closer to or further away from the object. FOV will also change when you do this but the viewing angle will not change. Moving the camera is NOT zooming since it doesn't change the viewing angle
