Advice to writers?

As currently written, the article gears primarily towards primarily-reading users and what they can do when they find an outdated article. Should there be a section for writers, about prevention? For example: ways to know whether some information might soon become outdated (how to keep up with areas which are rapidly changing, like the SLDev mailing list, office hours, AWG, or blog), or warning signs that the text needs to have an "as of" date (such as "soon", "recently", "new"...). :) Celierra Darling 21:48, 3 July 2008 (PDT)

Also, for reference, a couple of things that help deal with similar problems on Wikipedia:
