tiny article, proposed redirect

Since the content of this article is rather short, I'm proposing the following:

1. Include the content in LSL Portal
2. Redirect LSL and Linden Scripting Language to LSL Portal.

Agree/Disagree ?

Generally, I'd say "no" to redirecting articles to portals. But since this is – like you already described – really just a stub/introduction that's even already covered within the text of the portal, I'd be fine with such a redirect (as long as the redirects itself still contain the categories in order to be findable).

Additionally, the second link in the article points to the LSL Portal anyway...

All information about the "Linden Scripting Language" is available in the LSL Portal.

I disagree, the article should instead be fleshed out. It briefly touches upon it's similarity to C and more could be written on this point. Regardless it's a detail that doesn't belong on the LSL Portal main page. It's too specific to the history of the language. Sure it could be put in an article "LSL Language Design" but there may not be enough information to warrant a dedicated article to that topic (and we wouldn't want to point out that the language wasn't really designed, that it was built in a weekend) at which point we would be back where we are now and looking for a place to merge it. We could also just point the user to the Wikipedia article instead.

From an advertising perspective, we need a way to sell the language. We need to give a potential new user something that will spark their interest and fuel their imagination; to get them to dive into the LSL Portal. LSL & Linden Scripting Language are prime real estate for this; they are obvious entry points. -- Strife ^{(talk|contribs)} 04:55, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
