I'm not sure that Linden Lab should be deciding whether certification should be required or not. Perhaps it might be better if the market were to decide whether it should be required. Assuming certification is offered to the public in such a way as to prove that it's NOT being controlled by Linden Lab and that adequate safeguards for people's interests are put in place there is no reason why the value of certifications would not be accepted. The idea is to create incentive, not create a directive. --Orange Planer 14:05, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

It is not true that no one has stepped into the breach to create training materials. At least three organizations have such training available and more are coming.
