About me

I was born to SL on January 25th 2007 and hit one of the old orientation islands for German residents, like Goethe🖈 or Hesse🖈. In the beginning of my Second Life, I was quite lost. It took me some days to make friends who helped me to find my way. But I got to add that the waiting and searching was worth it, 'cause I found some of the greatest and most polite people around.

One of them, Lum Pfohl, got an awesome and very helpful page around the corner. Also, she was the one who pushed me to become a volunteer. Thank you!! On January 10th 2008, I was accepted to become an apprentice Mentor, visited the initial orientation session the same day and been moved to the Mentors group one day after.

If I'm not trying to help new residents, I'm most probably foolin' around with (*advertisement alert*) Lum ( Lums Outdoor Boutique🖈, Woo ( Woo's🖈), Jen ( Freak Boutique🖈), Fizz ( Studio Sidhe🖈)...

What can I do in SL?

Many new residents don't really know what to do in this metaverse. So here are some hints:

There’s the chance to hear lots of live music for example and chat with the artists between the songs. It’s not really compareable to a "real" concert experience for sure, but it’s a nice alternative. You’ll find lots of live music in SL by joining the “Live Music Enthusiasts” group. This way, you’ll get an IM when a new concert begins and where you’ll find it.

I should mention as well that Regina Spektor promoted her album “Begin to Hope” by offering the opertunity to exclusively pre-listen the album in SL. There is a great virtual band called U2 in SL as well.

Furthermore, there is the chance to see a lot of science related places like the The Splo🖈 (a mathematics related museum), the International Spaceflight Museum🖈 or the Istitute of Physics🖈 with talks and discussions. Or you can have a look at some art at the Oyster Bay🖈 and at Greenies Home🖈. If you're a linux geek or trying to become one, you may join the Linux User Group in SL. Meetings are every Thursday at 12:00 (SLT) in English and every Friday at 21:00 (MEZ) in German at Maryport🖈.

These are only a few possibilities and - like in RL - it's up to you what you do with the opportunities you got. You can use 'em or waste 'em.

To get an easy start in SL I can recommend some Freebies @ the GNUbie Store🖈 and The Free Dove🖈 (be sure to fetch your "free hair" vouchers for newbies at Gurl 6🖈 and Diversity Hair while you're younger then 30 days).
