Sorry in case you were just fiddling with the LSL in Focus:Integers‎ article. I forgot that the time difference between the wiki (GMT) and me (MET) is now 2 hours instead of 1 because of DST... Wanted to leave more room between other people's edits and my own... Haven't had time to read the forum thread yet though that's still on to-do. Thrilled to see that you're doing progress!

(for future reference it's appreciated to sign comments on talk pages, there is text about how to at the top in the edit window of talk pages.) I try to use both "Show preview" and "Show changes", I do so much template editing that it's hard to know if things are going to work before the save so I try to check the output and review the change to make sure my braces match up. I also wanted to ask about your change to Template:NavNextPrev, where you stripped the prefix functionality; you didn't leave a comment so I don't know what you are thinking. Thanks for being patient with my Wiki learning curve. As for the NextPrevNav template, my reason for changing it was because for the Wikibook, it was doing the wrong thing. That is, the up-navigation would not, in general, have the same prefix as the horizontal navigation. I had thought your modifications to the template were in support of the Wikibook, so it didn't occur to me that I might be breaking something else so soon. No worries; the curve can be pretty steep at times. I've moved the entire conversation here so it's easier to follow. The reasoning i had for adding it was this: If you look at LSL 101/Language Topics in Focus, you have a hierarchy, sections. So I thought the middle link for a subsection should kick the user back to the section, where they could click it again to get to the chapter toc (table of contents) and again for the main toc. The implementation by all means (of the center link) was not great, it really should have been a user supplied link instead of rolling the link from parts. With all honesty I was planning on going through later and generalizing the NextPrevNav template so it could be used for more than just LSL 101 because the template is a good idea (I just wish there were up arrow glyphs in unicode ~_~). -- Strife ^{(talk|contribs)} 18:45, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

That sounds completely consistent with what I had in mind. But as you go up the hierarchy, the prefix is going to change. (At least it does right now for the Wikibook, and I presume this would be the general case.) So I just removed the prefix from the up-link, which is what I thought I needed to do.
