Say you have the <code><nowiki>{{yes}}</nowiki></code> template somewhere on a page. Instead of using it as is, you're using it with a ''custom text'' which is perfectly fine. The part I'm not sure about is why you're using it with ''custom text'' which is exactly the ''default text''. | |||

Yes / No / Maybe - Templates
Say you have the {{yes}} template somewhere on a page. Instead of using it as is, you're using it with a custom text which is perfectly fine. The part I'm not sure about is why you're using it with custom text which is exactly the default text.
So why would you use {{yes|Yes}} instead of {{yes}} if they both have the same effect? Everybody else uses the base template for displaying "Yes" and saves four characters source code per used template. -- Kireji Haiku (talk|contribs) 12:30, 3 March 2014 (PST)
