Some users don't want to use the newest SL client, since it may cause a major performance hit on their systems.

The instructions below will tell you how to run the (old) 1.18.5.3 viewer with the grid as it currently (April 15th, 2008) exists.

The new viewer will be installed parallel to the current installation that may exist on your computer. This will allow you to easily change between the 1.18.5.3 viewer and any current SL viewer.

  1. Download the old SL viewer from http://download-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/Second_Life_1-18-5-3_Setup.exe
  2. Install the new client, make sure you change the installation location to C:\Program Files\SecondLife-1.18.5.3
