Record your Second Life experiences with snapshots that you can post to your profile feed, email to friends, or save to your inventory or computer.

KBnote.png Note: You may need to get permission to take snapshots on land you don't own. See the Second Life Snapshot and machinima policy.

The window shows a preview of the snapshot with the file dimensions and size. Click to take a new snapshot and refresh the preview.

Click:

  • Post to My Profile Feed to post the snapshot to your activity feed.
  • Email to email your snapshot. The maximum size for sending a snapshot via email is one megabyte (1 MB); if your snapshot exceeds that, lower Image quality and click .
  • Save to My Inventory (L$10) to upload your snapshot to your inventory. Upload fee is ten Linden dollars.
NOTE: Images saved to inventory are limited to 512 x 512 pixels maximum; if larger, they will be resized when you upload.
  • Save to my computer to save your snapshot to your local hard drive.

For any of these, click Snapshot Advanced Options.jpg to display advanced options.

For more information, see:

Adjust these image settings with any of the methods of sending a snapshot.

Use the dropdown to select your image size. The thumbnail preview shows the affected area. To create a custom size, choose Custom and enter values for Width and Height in pixels.

Select Constrain proportions to preserve the image's aspect ratio.

Use the Image quality slider to set the quality of the snapsnot. Lowering image quality reduces file size. Available for Save to my computer and Email only.
