Shows your current position on a map in realtime, a simplified version of the World Map.

  • A yellow dot and a wedge of light indicate your current position and field of view.
  • Zoom in or out by hovering your cursor over the Mini-Map and using your mouse's scroll wheel.

Legend

Some objects and areas are color-coded:

Cyan areas   Objects you own.
Fuchsia areas   Objects your groups own.
Green dots   Other Residents at the same altitude as your camera.
Green arrows   Residents above your camera's altitude show as up arrows, and Residents below your camera's altitude show as down arrows.
Yellow dots   Nearby friends. To see and edit your Friends list, choose Communicate > My Friends.
Green dots   Other Residents. The icon will change shape depending on the height of the avatar relative to you:
  • o - An avatar at about the same height as your camera viewpoint; for example, if you're standing next to them.
  • ^ - An avatar above your camera position, perhaps one flying or in a tall building.
  • v - An avatar below your camera position.

Dark gray blocks   Objects owned by others. In a region with lots of buildings, you see lots of these.
Cyan blocks   Objects you own in the area. For instance, a house on land you own. Useful for finding lost objects. For example, if you accidentally jump out of your vehicle and it keeps moving, you can tell where it's going by following the light blue.
Fuchsia blocks   Objects deeded to (owned by) a group you're in. For more information, see Group-owned land.
Tiled dark blue   Areas beyond your vision. You can see them by moving closer, or by increasing your draw distance: go to Me > Preferences > Graphics and iadjust the Draw Distance slider.
Red areas   Offline regions

World Map   Opens the World Map. You can also open the World Map by double-clicking the Mini-Map.
