  • [13:03] Alexa Linden: dessie can you drive so I can take notes?
  • [13:03] Bambers Linden: ok, this pose is a little less provocative
  • [13:03] Ellla McMahon: AS its quiet, please can I ask a question ?
  • [13:03] Dessie Linden: sure... let me do one thing first
  • [13:03] Dessie Linden: of course!
  • [13:04] Alexa Linden: of course!
  • [13:04] Ellla McMahon: thanks :))
  • [13:04] Bambers Linden: of course!
  • [13:04] Ellla McMahon: how do we help Residents who change things .. like not accepting cookies .. and then wonder why the Viewer doesn't work correctly ?
  • [13:05] Alexa Linden: ooh the search thing?
  • [13:05] Ellla McMahon: or not make sure their Quicktime/Flash/Drivers are up to date
  • [13:05] Bambers Linden: documentation. Probably kbase articles by the docs team
  • [13:05] Bambers Linden: also actually, that should be on the system requirements page
  • [13:05] Alexa Linden: Hi Tech :D
  • [13:06] Ellla McMahon: it would help
  • [13:06] Bambers Linden: Hi Techwolf
  • [13:06] Dessie Linden: it would be nice if our error notifications could include such links, but I don't know if that's feasible
  • [13:06] Techwolf Lupindo: Hi all.
  • [13:06] Dessie Linden: Hiya, Techwolf!
  • [13:06] Ellla McMahon: and yes Alexa .. this was the latest .. which I realise is not V2 http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-2465?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=202904#action_202904
  • [13:06] JIRA-helper: [#WEB-2465] Search Places: nothing happens when teleport is clicked
  • [13:06] Techwolf Lupindo: HOLY &^&*&*() Bambers, you still here and alive!! :-D
  • [13:07] Alexa Linden: hahahaha
  • [13:07] Alexa Linden: Hi Jonathan :)
  • [13:07] Jonathan Yap: Hi Alexa
  • [13:07] Alexa Linden: Ellla, I will talk to Search about that
  • [13:07] Ellla McMahon: thank you
  • [13:07] Alexa Linden: as it pertains to the issues we see being reported
  • [13:07] Bambers Linden: thanks alexa
  • [13:07] Alexa Linden: maybe address that in our blog posts too
  • [13:07] Dessie Linden: okay... I'm ready now
  • [13:08] Alexa Linden: the more places to post, the faster the info gets out there
  • [13:08] Dessie Linden: I just wanted to gather up the list of VWRs that are supposed to be fixed in the upcoming beta
  • [13:08] Dessie Linden: okay, here we go... http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Wednesday_Agenda#Misc_Pool
  • [13:09] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-19918
  • [13:09] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-19918] Scripted objects used in previous inworld sessions appear in lower notifications bar after relogin and accumulate over further logins
  • [13:09] Ellla McMahon: that's probably fix pending, although the EXT are a little confusing
  • [13:09] Dessie Linden: this one is supposed to be fixed in 2.1.1
  • [13:09] Dessie Linden: the upcoming/in-progress release :o)
  • [13:10] Bambers Linden: does that mean tis is a dup or that it's missing an internal bug number?
  • [13:10] Dessie Linden: I'll mark any fixed in 2.1.1 as Fix Pending when we're done
  • [13:10] Bambers Linden: kewl
  • [13:10] Dessie Linden: prolly missing the internal bug number
  • [13:10] Dessie Linden: I'll fix that too
  • [13:10] Bambers Linden: :) sweet
  • [13:10] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-20156
  • [13:10] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-20156] Prim Media on HUDs has no Audio or Interactivity
  • [13:11] Bambers Linden: I wonder if this is related to a G-rated maturity preference
  • [13:12] Dessie Linden: import?
  • [13:12] Bambers Linden: ig you are G, there are some objects you can't hear or interract with. Ask if they continue to experience this after upgrading maturity to M or A
  • [13:12] Bambers Linden: NMI I think
  • [13:12] Alexa Linden: ok
  • [13:12] Ellla McMahon: VWR-20380 a few issues down the list also reports same issue
  • [13:12] JIRA-helper: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-20380
  • [#VWR-20380] Shared Media not working in HUDs
  • [13:12] Bambers Linden: duplicate?
  • [13:12] Ellla McMahon: lots of votes on both issues
  • [13:13] Bambers Linden: hmm
  • [13:13] Dessie Linden: it's difficult to imagine that it ties to a General rating, as I would imagine most people use Mature
  • [13:13] Bambers Linden: maybe I'm wrong. Import for investigation (and request the maturity info?)
  • [13:14] Alexa Linden: ok
  • [13:14] Dessie Linden: er... Moderate
  • [13:14] Bambers Linden: not when the Viewer can default you to G, dessie
  • [13:14] Ellla McMahon: and the comments seem to be from REsidents who would have the correct setting
  • [13:14] Dessie Linden: oh, right bambers
  • [13:15] Dessie Linden: so NMI or import?
  • [13:15] Dessie Linden: Ellla, do you feel there is sufficient info already?
  • [13:15] Ellla McMahon: hmmm not sure but it's definitely causing a reaction
  • [13:15] Dessie Linden: and (tho I should have looked) have you been able to repro?
  • [13:15] Ellla McMahon: got changed to Showstopper today
  • [13:16] Bambers Linden: I can go with NMI or both
  • [13:16] Bambers Linden: orly?
  • [13:16] Bambers Linden: oh, I see
  • [13:16] Ellla McMahon: sorry on 30th
  • [13:16] Dessie Linden: let's import it then, okay?
  • [13:16] Bambers Linden: import
  • [13:17] Alexa Linden: I'll close the 2nd one as a dup and import
  • [13:17] Bambers Linden: (still ask if maturity rating is a factor)
  • [13:17] Dessie Linden: we probably don't want to spend too much time discussing something causing lots of heartache
  • [13:17] Dessie Linden: good idea, b
  • [13:17] Bambers Linden: yeah
  • [13:17] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-20107
  • [13:17] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-20107] Clothes cannot be detached via "Wearing" Tab anymore
  • [13:17] Bambers Linden: I mean yeah re discussion time, not my ideas :P
  • [13:18] Ellla McMahon: is this intentional ? seem to remember Nyx saying something
  • [13:18] Bambers Linden: not sure, but it feels like a design issue
  • [13:18] Bambers Linden: so bug
  • [13:19] Bambers Linden: If we import it should be rated higher than normal too
  • [13:20] Alexa Linden: well they say the "wearing tab"
  • [13:20] Bambers Linden: hi Jonathan and cg, by the way :)
  • [13:20] Dessie Linden: agreed - import as design issue
  • [13:20] Alexa Linden: there is no tab for that
  • [13:20] Alexa Linden: ok
  • [13:20] Dessie Linden: Hiya Jonathan and CG!
  • [13:21] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-19767
  • [13:21] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-19767] Incorrect height information in 2.1 appearance editor
  • [13:21] Bambers Linden: I haven't heard this song in ages
  • [13:21] Bambers Linden: oops, sorry. Bad bambers - get back on point
  • [13:22] Dessie Linden: oh bummer... you mean we finally implemented the height thingy and got it wrong? :o(
  • [13:22] Bambers Linden: I think this is known, prolly a dup
  • [13:22] Alexa Linden: this is the penny patton buf
  • [13:22] Bambers Linden: where do we measure from? middle, feet?
  • [13:22] Alexa Linden: I think this is the main issue for this
  • [13:23] Alexa Linden: ya this is
  • [13:23] Bambers Linden: ok
  • [13:23] Alexa Linden: she and nyx were talking in this issue
  • [13:23] Dessie Linden: seems to be a bug in the implementation of VWR-7253
  • [13:23] JIRA-helper: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7253
  • [#VWR-7253] Height indication in the Avatar Appearance Editor and correct Avatar scaling with respect to Prim dimension is required in Second Life.
  • [13:23] Alexa Linden: right
  • [13:23] Bambers Linden: without shoes, is the height accurate?
  • [13:24] CG Linden waves
  • [13:24] Bambers Linden: "My avatar is 5'8"/174cm (in the shoes I was wearing at the time)"
  • [13:24] Bambers Linden: how big were the shoes and are they counted as "avatar height"
  • [13:24] Bambers Linden: or am I missing something
  • [13:25] Alexa Linden: I can ask Nyx if we want to take one or the other issue for this
  • [13:25] Bambers Linden: yeah. Nyx is obviously aware
  • [13:25] Dessie Linden: We already have EXT-7206
  • [13:25] Bambers Linden: ok
  • [13:26] Alexa Linden: right
  • [13:26] Dessie Linden: let's make that the internal jira for this issue
  • [13:26] Bambers Linden: and my "it's the shoes" angle has apparently been discounted several times already :)
  • [13:26] Alexa Linden: and I want to see if he's got another one internally too
  • [13:26] Dessie Linden: actually... that's the feature
  • [13:26] Alexa Linden: and get this down to one issue
  • [13:26] Dessie Linden: so let's import it and, if we find that it's a dupe, close it
  • [13:27] Dessie Linden: who wants to research it's dupe-dom? :oP
  • [13:27] Bambers Linden: ok.
  • [13:27] Alexa Linden: I talk to nyx
  • [13:27] Alexa Linden: I'll*
  • [13:27] Bambers Linden: beat me to it
  • [13:27] Dessie Linden: cool, thanks!
  • [13:27] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-19830
  • [13:27] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-19830] Unable to rename inventory items including scripts and notecards and Land-Marks
  • [13:27] Bambers Linden: next?
  • [13:27] Ellla McMahon: VWR-19830 has been imported
  • [13:28] Dessie Linden: nice - and fast!
  • [13:28] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-19774
  • [13:28] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-19774] You can not group outfits by category by creating folders and dropping outfits into these.
  • [13:28] Alexa Linden: updated that field thanks ellla
  • [13:28] Ellla McMahon: this could do with a comment about whether its a design feature
  • [13:29] Ellla McMahon: it changed from earlier V2 versions
  • [13:30] Dessie Linden: well I know Nyx has done a lot of work on the Avatar Appearance Editor, so perhaps this was fallout from that work?
  • [13:30] Alexa Linden: ya I would be interested to have clarifications from him.esbee
  • [13:30] Ellla McMahon: I think it could be .. Nyx would know straight away
  • [13:30] Alexa Linden: him/esbee*
  • [13:31] Dessie Linden: look into it and import if needed?
  • [13:31] Alexa Linden: ok
  • [13:31] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-20380
  • [13:31] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-20380] Shared Media not working in HUDs
  • [13:32] Ellla McMahon: we've covered that one
  • [13:32] Bambers Linden: we did this one already, indirectly
  • [13:32] Dessie Linden: wait... this one is a dupe of the other one, right Ellla?
  • [13:32] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-19743
  • [13:32] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-19743] Some Textures appear weird if repeats and/or offset not default
  • [13:32] Ellla McMahon: well .. all those votes
  • [13:32] Ellla McMahon: it need a Linden to mark dup !!!
  • [13:32] Ellla McMahon: :)))
  • [13:32] Dessie Linden: lol
  • [13:33] CG Linden: votes should be merged when marking dup
  • [13:33] Alexa Linden: I've got this one too
  • [13:33] Alexa Linden: as it relates to our first issue
  • [13:33] Alexa Linden: so we can move on
  • [13:33] Bambers Linden: that would be ossm cg
  • [13:33] Dessie Linden: wait... this texture one relates to the first one?
  • [13:34] Dessie Linden: I agree, cg, but jira isn't that smart
  • [13:34] Bambers Linden: oh well. Let's file a feature request with Atlassian and move on
  • [13:34] Ellla McMahon: VWR-19743 looks like it could be a mix of bugs
  • [13:35] Ellla McMahon: could relate to VWR-10710 which Erica recently reopened
  • [13:35] JIRA-helper: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-10710
  • [#VWR-10710] Textures distort or corrupt and are replaced with a checkered texture instead after being logged into Second Life for extended periods of time
  • [13:35] Ellla McMahon: the repeating (original) bug, sorry I don't know about
  • [13:35] Dessie Linden: we should probably import it and see if it's a dupe of an existing EXT
  • [13:36] Bambers Linden: agree
  • [13:36] Dessie Linden: alexa?
  • [13:36] Alexa Linden: ok
  • [13:36] Dessie Linden: cool
  • [13:36] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-17548
  • [13:36] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-17548] Graphic performance with new beta viewer is abysmal on MacBook Pro
  • [13:37] Dessie Linden: Laurent gets credit for using "abysmal" in the Summary :oP
  • [13:37] Ellla McMahon: old issue, the Mac 10.6.4 seems to have helped alot of people
  • [13:37] Bambers Linden: aside: I love the name Mootly Obviate)
  • [13:37] Alexa Linden: laggy location by itself
  • [13:38] Dessie Linden: I know that we're also working on improving fps, so there may well be one or more related internal issues already
  • [13:38] Ellla McMahon: NMI with new Fast Timers if reopening ??
  • [13:38] Dessie Linden: sounds reasonable to me
  • [13:38] Alexa Linden: I'd want to see a side-by-side point of reference
  • [13:39] Bambers Linden: yeah. I'd wonder if a more recent viewer shows an improvement
  • [13:39] Bambers Linden: still bad in 2.1.0?
  • [13:39] Alexa Linden: nmi it is
  • [13:39] Bambers Linden notes report against 2.0.1, but hasn't read all the comments yet
  • [13:39] Ellla McMahon: performance is a target though for V2.1 is there anything here that would help Devs ?
  • [13:39] Dessie Linden: how about NMI and suggest trying 2.1
  • [13:40] Dessie Linden: next?
  • [13:40] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-20023
  • [13:40] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-20023] Arrow keys no longer usable in Inventory
  • [13:40] Ellla McMahon: imported
  • [13:40] Dessie Linden: kk, thanks
  • [13:40] Alexa Linden: I'll update that fields
  • [13:41] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-20183
  • [13:41] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-20183] RenderVolumeLODFactor is set at '0' as default for low graphics in Viewer 2.1 - causes malformed circular prims and unresolved sculpties
  • [13:41] Ellla McMahon: this one is tricky !!!
  • [13:41] Dessie Linden: yes
  • [13:41] Ellla McMahon: it is going to confuse and upset Residents
  • [13:41] Bambers Linden: I believe this is by design
  • [13:41] Ellla McMahon: I know
  • [13:41] Ellla McMahon: but ....7
  • [13:41] Bambers Linden: but the factors influencing the design are more... complicated
  • [13:41] Dessie Linden: hrm... a tough one
  • [13:42] Bambers Linden: I think we can import
  • [13:42] Ellla McMahon: it will be hard for most (affected) Residents to understand
  • [13:42] Alexa Linden: I need to check this against my home machine....
  • [13:42] Dessie Linden: I guess we mark it as designed, but get the design logic from development for a comment?
  • [13:42] Alexa Linden: as my machine is so new the viewer doesn't recognize it
  • [13:43] Alexa Linden: and sets all my settings to the lowest possible
  • [13:43] Bambers Linden: it's valid - it's just that some machines are less equal than others and drag the average for that GPU class down
  • [13:43] Dessie Linden: there will definitely be trade-offs as we try to accommodate less state-of-the-art drivers
  • [13:44] Ellla McMahon: its actually a discussion that Philip needs to have with the Community !!
  • [13:44] Dessie Linden: is this something that could be resolved with the proper communication?
  • [13:44] Bambers Linden: import and assign to Philip?
  • [13:44] Ellla McMahon: LOL
  • [13:44] Ellla McMahon: yes communication would go a long way
  • [13:44] Bambers Linden: :) I think it's importable though
  • [13:44] Dessie Linden: you could try assigning it to him, Ellla ;o)
  • [13:44] Ellla McMahon: users and content creators
  • [13:45] Ellla McMahon: Aleric did a Snowglobe issue .. Merov changed it :))
  • [13:45] Dessie Linden: let's import, if for no other reason than to highlight the conundrum the change has caused
  • [13:45] Alexa Linden: ok
  • [13:45] Bambers Linden: +1
  • [13:45] Ellla McMahon: maybe it could be tuned a little
  • [13:45] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-19951
  • [13:45] JIRA-helper: [#VWR-19951] ScriptDialog Notification of objects hidden, when multiple arrive on same object, and persisted, reappearing on relog

  • [#VWR-19918] Scripted objects used in previous inworld sessions appear in lower notifications bar after relogin and accumulate over further logins
  • [13:46] Ellla McMahon: I remember definitely
  • [13:46] Alexa Linden: ya the last one makes me think of that....
  • [13:46] Ellla McMahon: REsidents don't understand why something they purchased can't be seen
  • [13:46] Dessie Linden: it sure looks like a dupe
  • [13:47] Alexa Linden: as a reference point of the experience
  • [13:47] Alexa Linden: yup
  • [13:47] Ellla McMahon: its LoD again
  • [13:47] Alexa Linden: ya canyou help me find that one again?
  • [13:47] Dessie Linden: which one?
  • [13:47] Alexa Linden: the images are a great reference for internal reference
  • [13:47] Ellla McMahon: there's notecards circulating inworld showing how to change it in Advanced > Debug settings
  • [13:47] Alexa Linden: ya I remember that from the blogs
  • [13:48] Ellla McMahon: [13:47] Alexa Linden: ya canyou help me find that one again?
  • [13:48] Alexa Linden: sorry- back to our new issue

  • [13:49] Alexa Linden: this is a dup....
  • [13:49] Dessie Linden: so is this a dupe of 19918?
  • [13:49] Bambers Linden: VWR-19918
  • [13:49] Dessie Linden: kk, I'll take care of it Alexa, since I'm going to do some work on 19918
  • [13:49] Alexa Linden: ya we have an internal issue too
  • [13:49] Ellla McMahon: Alexa Necklace http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SNOW-438 and linked issues

  • [13:50] Alexa Linden: thanks ellla!
  • [13:50] Dessie Linden: right, and VWR-19918 will be fixed quite soon

  • [13:51] Dessie Linden: does everyone agree?
  • [13:51] Alexa Linden: and you said you're taking that one right Dessie?
  • [13:51] Ellla McMahon: well they can reopen if not fixed when 2.1.1. is released
  • [13:51] Dessie Linden: ah... silence is consent
  • [13:51] Dessie Linden: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-19763
