[13:01] Arawn Spitteler just came from Orientation Island 2, but it isn't open to the public, yet
[13:01] Torley Linden: Joachim, yes, Here island sure is.
[13:01] Youri Ashton: btw Torley, great NCIS tutorial!
[13:01] Torley Linden: Here is where I conduct all manner of nefarious experiments which get turned into beneficial advice, apparently.
[13:01] Youri Ashton: on youtube :)
[13:01] Joachim Waydelich: love the pinkish water
[13:02] Torley Linden: Thanks Youri, I got hooked on that show... people say I'm bouncy like Abby, so yeah!!!

[13:02] Megaddd Aeon: and sooo weird
[13:02] Youri Ashton: I love the show as well Torely!
[13:02] Aargle Zymurgy: hey, Torley, I caught your little recommendation blurb on the FilterForge website.
[13:02] Youri Ashton: to bad the show stopped :(
[13:02] Torley Linden: Aargle, glad you spotted it! I've been using it for a long time.
[13:02] Torley Linden: Youri, it hasn't, Season 7 is running.
[13:02] Megaddd Aeon: yeah, thx for that filterforge notice, it's awesome
[13:02] Youri Ashton: it has?
[13:02] Youri Ashton: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
[13:02] Youri Ashton: FUN!!!!
[13:02] Aargle Zymurgy: they've got it on special right now. I've considered buying it.
[13:03] Torley Linden: I was so thrilled to see my name next to Russell Brown, the Photoshop legend's. And a video tutorial pioneer before my time who's inspired me greatly.
[13:03] Torley Linden: Filter Forge is one of the awesomest things to make seamless Second Life textures with. http://filterforge.com/
[13:03] Youri Ashton: i have a feeling i wont be seeing it on tv tho
[13:03] Arawn Spitteler waits for NCIS meets CSI- SVU
[13:03] Megaddd Aeon: yeah :P
[13:03] Torley Linden: Developed by some brilliant Russians I think, not sure who the current coding lineup is, tho.
[13:03] Joachim Waydelich: ah yes i am familiar with russel
[13:03] Gnome Inkpen: NCIS: Second Life?
[13:03] Youri Ashton: no, RL
[13:03] Joachim Waydelich: i am a graphic desginer too
[13:04] Youri Ashton: the tv shows
[13:04] Gnome Inkpen: I'm joking. :P
[13:04] Arawn Spitteler: Navy Criminal Investigation Second Life?
[13:04] Youri Ashton: season 6 ended with ziva ending in her home country
[13:04] Torley Linden: http://russellbrown.com/ is the first ever Photoshop evangelist. It was he who helped make Photoshop the well-known name it is now, with good reasons. And wow the man does have energy.
[13:04] Torley Linden: Hahahaha @ NCIS: Second Life. I saw some Abby-inspired outfits on Xstreet.
[13:04] Gnome Inkpen: Lol. :D
[13:04] Bronson Blackadder: Im still stuck in photoshop 5.5
[13:05] Youri Ashton: xstreet was offline for maintenaince earlier
[13:05] Torley Linden: Do ye guys have any questions & curiosities about Second Life Help for Jeremy and myself?
[13:05] Torley Linden has pinged you.
[13:05] Joachim Waydelich: i thught i was behind the times stuck in cs3, since i cant afford to upgrade to 4 right now
[13:05] Youri Ashton: oh yeah, added some pictures of my gecko's on flcker earlier
[13:05] Youri Ashton: hey mari :D
[13:05] Marianne McCann: Hiya
[13:06] Arawn Spitteler: Oh, have you guys noticed the Translate Chat( Powered by Google?)?
[13:06] Marianne McCann: Handy, no?
[13:06] Youri Ashton: i know for some time
[13:06] Torley Linden: Arawn, where? Is this like the Snowglobe one?
[13:06] Joachim Waydelich: yeah i saw that arawn
[13:06] Youri Ashton: im on the CT team remember :p
[13:06]
[13:05] Youri Ashton: hey mari :D (hey husband: D)
[13:05] Marianne McCann: Hiya
[13:06] Youri Ashton: it wasnt our decision tho :(
[13:06] Arawn Spitteler: Snowglobe only?
[13:06] Bronson Blackadder: is filter forge copatible with photoshop5.5?
[13:06] Gnome Inkpen: Was that put into snowglobe? That would be ver handy
[13:07] Marianne McCann giggles
[13:07] Torley Linden: I'm not sure Bronson. Their website oughta say.
[13:07] Gnome Inkpen: very*
[13:07] Youri Ashton: arawn??
[13:07] Youri Ashton: lol
[13:07] Torley Linden: I know Snowglobe has an automatic translator but don't know what tech it uses.
[13:07] Marianne McCann: There's at least a couple things wrong with that translation
[13:07] Flight Band: All Go
[13:07] Arawn Spitteler: I suppose it identifies the language of the speaker.
[13:07] Youri Ashton: all translation programs have to many flaws
[13:08] Aargle Zymurgy: did I miss somethingabout languages?
[13:08] Joachim Waydelich: i think gets the person client data on language settings
[13:08] Arawn Spitteler: Youri is Dutch? Is Mari meaning husband in Holland?
[13:08] Torley Linden: Translation keeps getting better tho, it'll continue to be relatively primitive for years to come... like speech recognition, OCR, and soforth... but keeps becoming more promising.
[13:08] Aargle Zymurgy: are we talking about llGetAgentLanguage()?
[13:08] Youri Ashton: it's either use bad translations or use a resident team to do it, getting RL translation companies in takes to much on the financial side :p
[13:08] Joachim Waydelich: i cant live without OCR
[13:08] Youri Ashton: Mari as in marianne
[13:08] Youri Ashton: lol
[13:08] Joachim Waydelich: acrobat 9's built in ORCR engine is actually quitte good
[13:09] Bronson Blackadder: hello mari... might even mean I got goy cramps where is the bathroom... in norwegian
[13:09] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:09] Bronson Blackadder: gut
[13:09] Bronson Blackadder: even
[13:09] Marianne McCann: OCR is several letters better than OCD
[13:09] Ashiri Sands: eventually computers will have us trained up properly
[13:09] Torley Linden: But by the time OCR becomes truly convincing, it'll be able to read CAPTCHAS. Herein is another tool which can be used for practical, as well as spammy purposes. Alas!
[13:09] Youri Ashton: lol, stop poking the poor girl with those words. she's a sweety
[13:09] Marianne McCann grins
[13:09] Bronson Blackadder: yes Mari is pretty cool :)
[13:10] Arawn Spitteler: The more powerful the software, the slower it's going to be on my hardware
[13:10] Marianne McCann: Ya, but that;s just because i got here from setting up my space in the Winterfaire sims. It's feezing there
[13:10] Bronson Blackadder: just think how many wars have started by a mistranslation of hello
[13:10] Joachim Waydelich: thats why you are supposed to buy a new computer every 3 months
[13:10] Torley Linden: Bronson, like doves to Martians. :)
[13:10] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:10] Bronson Blackadder: da
[13:10] Youri Ashton: :p
[13:10] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:11] Arawn Spitteler doesn't get U$25/3months
[13:11] Bronson Blackadder: oh great Im using foriegn words
[13:11] Bronson Blackadder: again
[13:11] Marianne McCann: So what's the latest?
[13:11] Arawn Spitteler: All words are foreign
[13:12] Youri Ashton: think someone should get a broom, its kinda messy next door
[13:12] Bronson Blackadder: eagerly waiting for an RC for 2.0
[13:12] Qie Niangao: speaking of translations, before I tear down the build for good, some may want to catch http://world.secondlife.com/place/f22f1a7d-abc9-5e53-5c24-68eb1f23f75e ... matches language-specific wiki pages to the individual viewer's language, presented as Agent-specific media URL. (I promise never to mention this again at this office hour)
[13:12] Youri Ashton: aircraft in the air without owner
[13:12] Marianne McCann: Broom... check
[13:12] Torley Linden: Qie, thanks for sharing! Knowledge-sharing is always welcome here.
[13:13] Youri Ashton: hey suae
[13:13] Torley Linden: That goes on my list of places to visit very soon. A photographed list of my travels is: http://bit.ly/torleysla
[13:13] Qie Niangao: thanks, Torley
[13:13] Joachim Waydelich: your link appears to be broken according to chrome
[13:13] Marianne McCann: I need to put together my information on Livingtree's Winterfaire space again this year
[13:14] Flight Band: All Go
[13:14] Arawn Spitteler: Is Winterfaire something we can enter?
[13:14] Youri Ashton: I was wondering, has sl wiki btw anything like basic scripts on? explaining how scripts work and how to createa specific script? even if its in basic mode?
[13:14] Youri Ashton: something like this: http://www.lslwiki.net/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=LindenVehicleTutorial
[13:15] Marianne McCann: (a) there are land auctions in the marketplace and, (b) there is a showcase for Winter themed builds. There's information on both on the blog.
[13:15] Youri Ashton: could make it a lot easier on all of us
[13:15] Aargle Zymurgy: there are tons of sample scripts around, Youri.
[13:15] Aargle Zymurgy: let me see what I've got
[13:15] Torley Linden: Darnit, broken for me too, Joachim, it was working earlier... try... http://www.flickr.com/photos/torley/sets/72157605740036376/
[13:15] Joachim Waydelich: that one works
[13:16] Ashiri Sands: I found the example scripts very handy for learning from
[13:16] Youri Ashton: was looking myself for a hover vehicle script, for well.. basically a hoverboard so to say, kinda hard to get, specially if its for tinies
[13:16] Torley Linden: Youri, wiki.secondlife.com 's LSL section has a script library category. Long ago there were some great vehicle kits.
[13:16] Ashiri Sands: Vehicles have so many parameters ... lots of trial (and error)
[13:17] Torley Linden: I don't know who makes the most awesome vehicle kits now but I'd love to hear. Cubey Terra had a very neat make your own plane one.
[13:17] Youri Ashton: lol
[13:17] Marianne McCann: I can't wait'll Jopsy gets his vehicle lab set up in Slate, mself
[13:17] Arawn Spitteler: I'm trying to build a very simple one, but it keeps flying away
[13:17] Youri Ashton: ill see if i can check something out there
[13:17] Marianne McCann: I believe Cubey still has the DIY kid
[13:17] Marianne McCann: kit*
[13:17] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:17] Ashiri Sands: i have the DIY kit
[13:17] Joachim Waydelich: make sure the scripts are havok 4 compatible, i have lots of vehciles that H4 broke
[13:18] Bronson Blackadder: DIY kids... is that single parents?
[13:18] Torley Linden: Hahahahaha. <.<
[13:18] Youri Ashton: this is the basic idea
[13:18] Gnome Inkpen: LOL
[13:18] Qie Niangao: there's a hoverboard--I assume full-perm scripts-- in the Zindra content kit--never looked at it, but guessing it should be H4-friendly.
[13:18] Gnome Inkpen: Bronson, are they mono though?
[13:18] Torley Linden: Yeah, 'cuz nothing says Zindra like a DIY hoverboard! ;D
[13:18] Qie Niangao: hehehe
[13:18] Bronson Blackadder: mono is the pink eye script
[13:18] Torley Linden: When I think of hoverboards, I think of Back To The Future... anyone else?
[13:19] Gnome Inkpen: LSL2 kids would be a bit slower in crowds.
[13:19] Qie Niangao: vehicles are rarely Mono-compiled. Mono makes border crossings a nightmare.
[13:19] Arawn Spitteler: I have a bar of soap you can ride
[13:19] Marianne McCann: Ya, that's about the first thing I think of. That or the zip boards from ReBoot
[13:19] Youri Ashton: well, in general lines, yes torley :p
[13:19] Torley Linden: I used to turn on Reboot on good ol' Canadian YTV.
[13:19] Youri Ashton: i has however thinking more specificly in other themes :p
[13:19] Youri Ashton: Reboot, always fun :p
[13:20] Flight Band: All Go
[13:20] Marianne McCann: Ya. I loved ReBoot. I suspect it was one of my draws to this worls, really
[13:20] Youri Ashton: only saw first episode tho
[13:20] Marianne McCann: world*
[13:20] Aargle Zymurgy is getting tired of crashing
[13:20] Marianne McCann: I had some of that this morning as well, Aargle. I feel your pain
[13:20] Torley Linden: I always like hearing about inspirations and influences like that, Mari... Deus Ex partially inspired me to get in here. :)
[13:20] Aargle Zymurgy: oh, I loved Deus Ex
[13:21] Marianne McCann: Ya, Definitely ReBoot, more than say Tron.
[13:21] Torley Linden: Kate's occupied at the moment!
[13:21] Youri Ashton: *waits for Deusex 3* :D
[13:21] Youri Ashton: ah ok torley :)
[13:21] Torley Linden: Yeah, I hope DX3 is going to rock, I might have to binge on that like I did with DX2.
[13:21] Youri Ashton: graphics on dx3 look awesome
[13:21] Jeremy Linden didn't like DX2 as much as DX on the first playthrough, but it grew on him.
[13:21] Youri Ashton: hope it will be great as well
[13:21] Torley Linden: I have so many early SL memories of waking up at my keyboard and finding my avatar being pushed around on some island or a sandbox, there's that permeable interface between consciousness and sleep.
[13:22] Ashiri Sands giggles.
[13:22] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:22] Marianne McCann giggles
[13:22] Aargle Zymurgy: I'm starting to get itchy for Half-LIfe Episode 3. I reason that I combine Second-Life time with Half-Life time and that qualifies as First-Life time.
[13:22] Torley Linden: Jeremy have you played any other cool games lately?
[13:22] Torley Linden has pinged you.
[13:22] Youri Ashton: DX3 goes actually before DX
[13:22] Bronson Blackadder: I remember my first 24 hour stint on sl
[13:22] Bronson Blackadder: that was whack
[13:22] Torley Linden: Aargle, I made a joke about Second Half-Life the other day. And that's very funny.
[13:22] Marianne McCann: Nice avvie name, H20
[13:22] Torley Linden: Hahahah Bronson, describe!
[13:22] Adamburp Adamczyk: good games? you can; beat the o,d classics
[13:22] Jeremy Linden: Lately? Hmm... Borderlands is a lot of fun, if you're into loot-based action games.
[13:22] Joachim Waydelich: my early SL memories are when i thought the nova albion infohub was the ENTORE sl world
[13:23] Joachim Waydelich: ubtil i found the map
[13:23] Gnome Inkpen: LOL Second Half-Life? Yaya!
[13:23] Youri Ashton: HL is a great game!
[13:23] Marianne McCann: Second Half-Life? Watch out if you end up with the last name of "Freeman"
[13:23] Youri Ashton: all follow up events as well :p
[13:23] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: lol
[13:23] Torley Linden: I heard Borderlands described as MMO-like for single-player? Or was that something else?
[13:23] Arawn Spitteler: What's wrong with my name?
[13:23] Bronson Blackadder: my first day I was stuck on avatar island.. database issues... I though t vatar island WAS sl
[13:23] Marianne McCann: My early SL memories involve stumbling into a lot of waterways around Ahern
[13:23] Gnome Inkpen: My early memories were when I thought you had to fly to get somewhere. I'd fly across like 20 region to get to a sandbox.
[13:23] Jeremy Linden: I can see that, Torley. I'd say it's more like Diablo, or the ill-fated Hellgate London.
[13:24] Torley Linden: Haha, those isolation stories are great.
[13:24] Paul54 Roffo: /?? you mean it isnt
[13:24] Youri Ashton: Diablo i played, Diablo 2 and LOD i played as well :p
[13:24] Torley Linden: I think some of the same dev team worked on Borderlands, Jeremy?
[13:24] Torley Linden has pinged you.
[13:24] Gnome Inkpen: I was all confused, and a bit scared
[13:24] Adamburp Adamczyk: sorry torely, i's say best game ever - treasure island dizzy
[13:24] Joachim Waydelich: diablo 3 is due out soon
[13:24] Youri Ashton: still on guild Wars now
[13:24] Joachim Waydelich: i cannot wait for that
[13:24] Torley Linden: Diablo in turn takes some inspiration from Nethack and other dungeon generators.
[13:24] s an old Omega Man
[13:24] Torley Linden: HAHAHAAHA Adamburp, is it sad that I know what that is but never played it? Dizzy was like Mario for egg-people?
[13:24] Joachim Waydelich: lately ive been hooked on fallout 1, 2 and tatics
[13:24] Adamburp Adamczyk: yeah :0
[13:24] Marianne McCann: I actually started exploring very early on in my SL experience. Started hitting search and away I went
[13:25] Adamburp Adamczyk: but dizzy came first :0
[13:25] Torley Linden: I've been seeing Fallout's "War never changes" cited in serious military news articles.
[13:25] Youri Ashton: Fallout 3 is great :)
[13:25] Joachim Waydelich: i dont have the equipment to run ffallout 3 yet
[13:25] Joachim Waydelich: i am broke
[13:26] Youri Ashton: i been hearing the creators of fallout are making a MMO for it now
[13:26] Youri Ashton: ugh
[13:26] Arawn Spitteler: Solomon had a big impact, on the art of War
[13:26] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: D:
[13:26] Youri Ashton: laggggg
[13:26] Marianne McCann: I know that feeling, Joachim
[13:26] Youri Ashton: YAY!! SIM LAG!!
[13:26] Megaddd Aeon: WOOT
[13:26] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: Hi5!
[13:26] Joachim Waydelich: gog.com sells alot of those old great games
[13:26] Torley Linden: If you mix Spartacus and particles, you get Spartacles. :p
[13:26] Joachim Waydelich: digital downloads, DRM free
[13:26] Arawn Spitteler sees Network Lag
[13:26] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:26] Youri Ashton: lol
[13:27] Torley Linden: Joachim, yeah, they have a very nice design. I didn't get anything yet but I see they have the old Tex Murphy games, that was a big influence on me.
[13:27] Gnome Inkpen: LOl @ Spartacles
[13:27] Marianne McCann: Spartacus Particle Spectacles
[13:27] Youri Ashton: talking about particles, im happy my jetpack finally works propperly :p
[13:27] Torley Linden: I like sites that breathe and make you feel comfortable, that even if they're selling hi-tech wares, they have some homegrown, human attitude to them.
[13:27] Paul54 Roffo: Hello how are you doing derek
[13:27] Joachim Waydelich: gog is funny tho, they have about 40 different genders to choose during registration
[13:28] Derek Galaxy:
[13:28] Derek Galaxy: im fine, hello troley and everyone
[13:28] Torley Linden: Joachim, I need to see that and laugh about it.
[13:28] Youri Ashton: troley? lol
[13:28] Torley Linden: Heya Derek!
[13:28] Marianne McCann: Yes, Torley. I like sites that not only sell, but provide a glimpse into the company or its people
[13:28] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:28] Derek Galaxy: lol sry, i allways spell it wrong
[13:28] Niky Zenovka: Troll + Torley?
[13:28] Bronson Blackadder: I think Torleys name is a commonly mispelled one
[13:28] Torley Linden: Mari, I always hunt down those "Our history" or "Here's our story" pages. ^_^
[13:28] Marianne McCann: yup. "About Us"
[13:28] Torley Linden: Trolly. Yeah!
[13:28] Gnome Inkpen: Trolly!
[13:28] Megaddd Aeon: lol
[13:28] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: oh god
[13:28] Marianne McCann: Din din din goes the Trolly....
[13:28] Youri Ashton: should wear a troll mask now torley :p
[13:29] Megaddd Aeon: x3
[13:29] Bronson Blackadder: makes it sound like Torleys hangs out on chat groups trolling
[13:29] Niky Zenovka: lol
[13:29] Torley Linden: Dough Linden mentioned something apt the other day about how a house is a thing but home is an emotional state of mind.
[13:29] Derek Galaxy shouts: *Torley
[13:29] Youri Ashton: lol
[13:29] Derek Galaxy: lol
[13:29] Adamburp Adamczyk: trouble is Torley, if you DO misspell your name as "trolley" then it akes on a WHOLE new meaning in slang english
[13:29] Torley Linden: I've derailed my fair share of trolleys in SL. ;)
[13:29] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:29] Marianne McCann: Exactly. The old "home is where the heart is." It's an emtional investment
[13:29] Torley Linden: Adamburp, really? :O
[13:29] Adamburp Adamczyk: as "trolley" is a local word for underpants over ehre
[13:29] Derek Galaxy: hahahahaa
[13:29] Joachim Waydelich: the noval albion trolley was so easy to derail
[13:29] Arawn Spitteler didn't realize Mari was on a foreign client:
[13:28] Marianne McCann: Din din din goes the Trolly.... (That it goes it the Trolly ....)
[13:29] Youri Ashton: at least he gets around with the name trolly :p
[13:30] Joachim Waydelich: it someones flew off the tracks across 2 regions on a corner
[13:30] Joachim Waydelich: sometimes
[13:30] Torley Linden: Hahahahha I thought it was gonna be like, Trollop, which is actually a SL last name!
[13:30] Marianne McCann: Ya. I do miss the nA trolley.
[13:30] Youri Ashton: lol
[13:30] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:30] Arawn Spitteler: Last I tried the Luna Dore Trolley, it had no trouble with sim crossings
[13:30] Torley Linden: I remember the first time crash-landing at the Luna mall... and the trolley there.
[13:30] Derek Galaxy: im afraid of region corners lol
[13:30] Joachim Waydelich: yeah thats the one i mean arawn
[13:30] Joachim Waydelich: sadly, it doesnt run anymore
[13:30] Gnome Inkpen: OMG Trollop is a lastname? LOL!
[13:30] Megaddd Aeon: lol
[13:30] Marianne McCann: A victim of H4
[13:30] Adamburp Adamczyk: trolleys n. n. n. Kecks; underpants.
[13:30] Arawn Spitteler: Doesn't it? I recall crashing in Luna
[13:31] Marianne McCann: Ya, Gnome. An old one. I recall... what was the name, "Celebrity Trollop?"
[13:31] Joachim Waydelich: i havent seen it go thru miramare in ages
[13:31] Gnome Inkpen: Torley Trollop
[13:31] Torley Linden: XD
[13:31] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:31] Arawn Spitteler: Try it in Luna
[13:31] Youri Ashton: should get more lastnames in more different languages, including fantasy names
[13:31] Marianne McCann: the NA trolley is out for repairs at the moment
[13:31] Gnome Inkpen: Can we switch it from 'Lindens' to 'Trollops'?
[13:31] Torley Linden: Youri, like HOBBIT? Or VOLTARI!?
[13:31] Youri Ashton: lol
[13:31] Derek Galaxy: i didnt know i was such a conversation starter lol
[13:31] Ashiri Sands: How do you come up with last names anyway?
[13:31] Youri Ashton: something liek that torley :p
[13:32] Joachim Waydelich: i found a "trolley" that runs in the snow regions on the original mainland continent
[13:32] Bronson Blackadder: encyclopedia insanica
[13:32] Ashiri Sands laughs.
[13:32] Adamburp Adamczyk: underpants linden?
[13:32] Paul54 Roffo: Underpants Linden doesnt sound right to me
[13:32] Marianne McCann: Ya, Joachim. I believe the main station for that is in Wengen
[13:32] Torley Linden: I know Twilight last names would be very popular. Ashiri, not sure who does them now, but earlier I know it was Jack Linden.
[13:32] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: lol
[13:32] Derek Galaxy: hahahahaha
[13:32] Youri Ashton: think it wont be a good idea to call people hobbit or volatri tho :p
[13:32] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: Well I guess it's possible there's a Bacon Linden. :V
[13:32] Arawn Spitteler: Captain_Underpants Linden
[13:32] Joachim Waydelich: i know its somewhere near voss and zermatt
[13:32] Marianne McCann: tar la la
[13:32] Adamburp Adamczyk: *✰* UNDERPANTS! *✰*
[13:32] Marianne McCann: tra*
[13:32] Joachim Waydelich: winterfest sims
[13:32] Gnome Inkpen: I think they just line a few 2 month old babies up and tell them to ramble off some last names
[13:32] Niky Zenovka: brb
[13:32] Arawn Spitteler: Wengen?
[13:32] Youri Ashton: hb
[13:33] Bronson Blackadder: Fryde Linden
[13:33] Torley Linden: Hmmm, Cullen isn't a last name either. Neither is McCullen. So you could appease both Twilight and GI Joe fans.
[13:33] Paul54 Roffo: or Kacks Linden thats a possibility
[13:33] Torley Linden: Hahahaha Gnome. That sounds like how Steven Spielberg got the Gungans' names.
[13:33] Torley Linden: There was a Drunkensufi Linden but that was changed. ;)
[13:33] Youri Ashton: several months ago i noticed a really weird lastname, dont really remember it further, but it was in my language really funny
[13:33] Paul54 Roffo: ~= hehe ~=
[13:33] Joachim Waydelich: does LL still allow you to register a custom last name for 500 bucks?
[13:34] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: Yeah I think so.
[13:34] Derek Galaxy: i have seen some funny ones too
[13:34] Youri Ashton: i just hope LL withdraws the name "Hiller", which sounds and looks like "Hitler"
[13:34] Torley Linden: I believe so, per http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Custom_Name_Program , Joachim!
[13:34] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: lol
[13:34] Youri Ashton: if it isnt done yet
[13:34] Joachim Waydelich: ah it does
[13:34] Derek Galaxy: what if you have that last name and the do cancle it, do you go poof?
[13:34] Bronson Blackadder: spelling it would be better differently
[13:34] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: So who chooses the lastnames anyway?
[13:34] Bronson Blackadder: like
[13:34] Torley Linden: It's a shame whenever one person has to go and screw up a last name for so many. :(
[13:34] Bronson Blackadder: Heller
[13:34] Arawn Spitteler: I object to the great prejudice against murderous tyrants; those are people too, remember
[13:34] Youri Ashton: LMFAOOOOOOO::: Upon creation of a custom surname, the account designated as owner, will be billed a US$500 setup fee plus the first annual US$500 fee
[13:35] Marianne McCann: only 140 or so McCanns left in SL. Wow...
[13:35] Gnome Inkpen: At least most custom last names are company acronyms
[13:35] Youri Ashton: 500USD to set it up and 500more for annual fee?
[13:35] Youri Ashton: lmao
[13:35] Bronson Blackadder: how can you find all teh last names in SL?
[13:35] Marianne McCann: slnamewatch.org
[13:35] Torley Linden: I remember there was also some consternation over Suicide being a last name, when the Suicide Girls came into SL.
[13:35] Joachim Waydelich: i smiled when i saw all the aviation pioneers last names in sl, like loening, messerschmitty, convair, etc
[13:35] Bronson Blackadder: oh good
[13:35] Paul54 Roffo: Roffo's are on the decline as well
[13:35] Torley Linden: PMS also caused similar expressions.
[13:36] Bronson Blackadder: I subscribe to the suicide girl site
[13:36] Gnome Inkpen: The RegAPI shows a lot more lastnames, I think
[13:36] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:36] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: Wasn't gay a lastname at one time? lol
[13:36] Torley Linden: Both of those were custom exceptions, I emphasize!
[13:36] Derek Galaxy: i havent seen that many Galaxys to think of it...
[13:36] Joachim Waydelich: i registered a grover loening SL name, but hotmail never got the email to actiate it
[13:36] Torley Linden: I *EMPHASIZE*.
[13:36] Arawn Spitteler: I did some temp work, for FAG Bearings; do you think there'd be objection to their company having a last name?
[13:36] Adamburp Adamczyk: is there a "linden linden"?
[13:36] Marianne McCann: You emphasized your emphasis
[13:36] Torley Linden: Oh geez, here's me riding the Luna trolley 3 years ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91M8s2_jRns

[13:36] Gnome Inkpen: Linden Linden, I was wondering the same thing a while ag
[13:36] Gnome Inkpen: ago*
[13:37] Youri Ashton: the Dutch sounding lastnames also sound more German, would think some crazy german thought those up instead of a Dutch person
[13:37] Joachim Waydelich: oh that brings back so muc memories torley
[13:37] Megaddd Aeon: does anyone notice notice sandboxes getting spammed with 'naughty' or disturbing particle images these days?
[13:37] Gnome Inkpen: Just a LindenU Linden
[13:37] Torley Linden: There are some last names which were unintentionally misspelled, too.
[13:37] Torley Linden: Like Olmstead was supposed to be Olmsted but both are "real".
[13:37] Youri Ashton: hey charlie
[13:37] Marianne McCann: Whoops, shoulda been http://slnamewatch.com/

[13:38] Torley Linden: Some people have a beautiful knack for tallying stats and compiling them...
[13:38] Bronson Blackadder: thanks Mari :)
[13:38] Arawn Spitteler: Which Linden has office hours, so there's probably a lot of creatinve name selection

[13:41] Joachim Waydelich: from what i know, governor linden isnt any single person, but a shared account among all the lindens
[13:41] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: Yes
[13:41] Arawn Spitteler: I've seen him, but didn't mention his meatside nema

[13:43] Torley Linden: Not to be confused with the Towel of Linden, which Brent has with his rubber duckies in LindenWorld.
[13:43] Adamburp Adamczyk: 1 suggestion: replace linden bears with linden toilets
[13:43] Gnome Inkpen: LOL
[13:43] Hydrogen2 Oxygen: hahaha
[13:43] Arawn Spitteler: Maybe workingonit Linden could show up for some nagging
[13:44] Marianne McCann: Not to mention Bucket Linden
[13:44] Torley Linden: Some of these Lindens are like Santa Claus in that regard... goodwill ambassadors, really.

[13:44] Derek Galaxy: lol early in my sl life i actually sent a friend request to the governer XD
[13:44] Joachim Waydelich: i was always under the impression "workinonit" was just a filler name to make jira people think their issues were being "worked on"
[13:44] Torley Linden: Hahahaha why don't you ask Kona... :)
[13:44] Jeremy Linden: Kona isn't very new... :-P

[13:48] Niky Zenovka: Ruth is the Genesis....

[13:48] Bronson Blackadder: every one can see it
[13:48] Bronson Blackadder: except them
[13:48] Paul54 Roffo: I had a thing goping with ruth but she kept disapearing on me

[13:48] Arawn Spitteler: Can we still do Ruth?
[13:49] Torley Linden: Bronson, yeah, the support complaints we got about Ruth, it was an interesting exercise to see how many of them sounded the same...
[13:49] Torley Linden: "I'm a guy but I have BREASTS now!"
[13:49] Marianne McCann: I still see Ruth from time to time, when I get some bad lag on login
[13:49] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:49] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:49] Torley Linden: "Who put this mullet on me? @#$% you!"

[13:50] Niky Zenovka: When would it be ideal? On Halloween?
[13:50] Joachim Waydelich: for memories
[13:50] Torley Linden: ;)

[13:51] Vendivar Vectoscope whispers: Torley, wouldn't you say the changes to the SLX kind of goes agaisnt the Second Life spirit?
[13:51] Paul54 Roffo: Ruth is in my Dream's
[13:51] Torley Linden: Vendivar, what's your intention in asking that? Getting a quote for a news story? :)
[13:51] Arawn Spitteler: Why can't we search for Proctor and Gamble, in SL?
[13:52] Gnome Inkpen: Like the answer Torley. ;)
[13:52] Youri Ashton: done torley :p
[13:52] Torley Linden: I need to clarify though, that Jeremy and myself are on the Documentation Team, so we'll stick to commenting on what we know best. :D (I hate the bland, generic "no comment" but there are times when we just don't know or it isn't appropriate.)
[13:52] Torley Linden has pinged you.
[13:53] Bronson Blackadder: isnt really appropriate
[13:53] Vendivar Vectoscope: Only ut of curiosity to be honest with you, Torley
[13:53] Youri Ashton: oh yeah
[13:53] Youri Ashton: reminds me
[13:53] Vendivar Vectoscope: I know you are very adamant about second life so your comments would be interesting to me, since you are also an employee
[13:53] Youri Ashton: does the doc team need more translations from the Ct team?
[13:53] Joachim Waydelich: people just think lindens are all knowing gods torely
[13:53] Vendivar Vectoscope: :)
[13:53] Joachim Waydelich: well alot of people do anyway
[13:53] Youri Ashton: question popped up yesterday at the CT meeting
[13:54] Torley Linden: Yeah alas we can't speculate beyond what's been officially announced. ^_^
[13:54] Arawn Spitteler: Lindens are Gods; don't you recall the Creation of Reality?
[13:54] Gnome Inkpen: Is Torley not the almighty watermelon god?
[13:54] Youri Ashton: he is gnome :p
[13:54] Joachim Waydelich: if watermelons needed a god, torley would be their first choice
[13:54] Torley Linden: Joachim, we're not? Haha. A long time ago I drew a chart trying to correspond Lindens of the era (there were a lot less) with Greco-Roman pantheon. It kind of failed but the point was, there's a diverse variety. People tend to associate me more with trickster-like things...
[13:55] Torley Linden: and I'd gladly adopt the mantle of Watermelon Deity!
[13:55] Gnome Inkpen: YAYZERAMA!
[13:55] Torley Linden: YAYZERAMA! indeed.
[13:55] Joachim Waydelich: i associate you with craziness torley
[13:55] Youri Ashton: *DING!* OH over :(
[13:55] Torley Linden: YAYZERAMA is like "yay" with "lazers" at a "bowl-o-rama".
[13:55] Torley Linden: That's how it came about.
[13:55] Ashiri Sands: definately the trickster, Torley
[13:55] Youri Ashton: oh, almost
[13:55] Youri Ashton: lol
[13:55] Marianne McCann: Gotta scoot! Someone just gave me a scripting challenge that I jes wanna tackle
[13:55] Marianne McCann: Bye Bye!!
[13:56] Youri Ashton: bye bye mari :)
[13:56] Youri Ashton: have fun
[13:56] Derek Galaxy: bye
[13:56] Gnome Inkpen: So that's the story of the famour quote. :D
[13:56] Torley Linden: People who spell "laser" as "lazer", including Major Lazer, always have some sort of colorful ulterior motive.
[13:56] Torley Linden: Have fun scriptyness Mari!
[13:56] Gnome Inkpen: famous*
[13:56] Youri Ashton: anyways, my question?
[13:56] Torley Linden: BTW, "sharks with lazers" gets 83,900 Google matches whereas "sharks with lasers" only has 9,210.
[13:56] Jeremy Linden: About translators, Youri?
[13:56] Arawn Spitteler: Light Amplification by Selective Emmision of Radiation, LAZER
[13:57] Gnome Inkpen: btw Torley, your current av. Is spooky, and I likes it! ^^ :D
[13:57] Youri Ashton: does the doc team have some new things to be translated (or soon) ?
[13:57] Youri Ashton: im one of the Dutch translators :p
[13:57] Youri Ashton: the question popped up yesterday
[13:57] Niky Zenovka: So Lazer becomes, Light Amplification by Zapping Emission Radiation
[13:57] Jeremy Linden: We (Doc Team) don't do any translating ourselves. As you said, it's up to the community translation team and the Lindens who manage them. :-)
[13:57] Youri Ashton: i know that
[13:58] Youri Ashton: thats why im asking if there is something to do for us :p
[13:58] Torley Linden: Yah, I'd best ask Noelle and thereabouts... there are certainly many Knowledge Base articles which haven't been translated into Dutch yet.
[13:58] Youri Ashton: see, im one of the team :p
[13:58] Youri Ashton: okay, could you forward to either Kate or me Torley? Then we can do some more :)
[13:59] Youri Ashton: or who ever likes to forward it :)
[13:59] Gnome Inkpen: I will be a translater. I can translate from Typeonese, to English and vise-versa
[13:59] Torley Linden: Youri, I don't have specifics. Again, Noelle can guide better in this direction! Mhmm! Appreciate your enthusiasm to help.
[13:59] Bronson Blackadder: typonese
[13:59] Bronson Blackadder: lol
[13:59] Gnome Inkpen: Do I get the job?
[13:59] Youri Ashton: not just to dutch, but all languages we can do :)
[13:59] Bronson Blackadder: I love that language
[13:59] Joachim Waydelich: if yu need the KB translated into goa'uld, i can do it
[13:59] Gnome Inkpen: Lol
[13:59] Jeremy Linden: Sorry, I wasn't very clear. What I meant was that we're not really the best folks to ask about which articles need to be translated. Our team works on the English articles only, and after that it's up to the localization folks.
[13:59] Torley Linden: JAFFA! PRIM KREE! HATAK REZ!
[13:59] Youri Ashton: kk, ill let lexie bugger noelle then :p
[13:59] Niky Zenovka: Well... have to go... nice seeing you all... take care...
[14:00] Niky Zenovka waves
[14:00] Torley Linden: Cheerio Niky!
[14:00] Joachim Waydelich: haha, nice torleyt
