Occasionally, SLurl link may lead somewhere other than the place it advertised. There are a few possible reasons for such mix-up:

  • The creator of the SLurl link accidentally set the wrong location.
  • The location has changed or been sold since the SLurl link was created.
  • The person distributing the SLurl link intentionally misrepresented the end location.

If your incorrect landing location appears to be a unintentional, you should contact the creator of the SLurl link to inform them of the issue.

What should I do if a SLurl link appears to be designed with malicious intent?

If you follow a SLurl link, and you find that the destination was clearly misrepresented on purpose (for example, to smear the name of another Resident's brand), you should file an abuse report with the following parameters:

  • Open the Report Abuse window by choosing Help > Report Abuse.
  • Choose Other as the abuse type.
  • Select the offending Resident by pressing the Choose Resident button.
  • Fill in a descriptive Summary and Details; make sure to include:
    • The SLurl link itself: If you're standing at the location, the SLurl link should fill in automatically in the Location of Abuse field.
    • The nature of the abuse: Describe the implied destination of the SLurl link, and the actual destination. Try to explain why you think the actual destination is an abuse of SLurl link usage.
