Thank you for taking the time to visit SL birthday's "Art Ghetto?"

I want to thank Tayzia Abbatoir and Shoshana Epsilon for inviting me.

    • Notes on Interactive Sound Sculpture**

Elizabeth Rookwood invited me to visit Adam' Ramona's interactive Sculpture garden at Ramonia. 􀀇 Adam’s interactive sound sculptures are simple in appearance, fun, intelligent. and immersive.

Adam's work sparked my interest in interactive sound. I wanted to build an interactive instrumental sound sculpture. I needed a script that would trigger a specific sound when an avatar would collide with a prim that contained that sound. Adam guided me through the script writing process.

I imported sound syllables from garage band and imbedded each sound into a prim. Avatars can walk through 3 rows of disks. The instrumental sculpture is a work in progress.

I was intrigued with the idea of building an interactive singing sculpture. A simple melody somewhat in the same key, served as a guideline for three vocalists to sing the basic tones. Once recorded they were imported in SL The voices were not enhanced or altered which adds warmth to the sound.

Each syllable was imbedded into a single prim. Avatars can walk through 3 rows of circular prims to activate sounds.

I am working on recording a baritone singer to add to A Cappella.

As with all experiments, it requires further study .

    • Notes on Floating Overlay Paintings**

The first Floating Overlay Painting was completed, Jan 1st 2007.

Animated layered prim works were inspired by the ubiquitous SL waterfalls with their transparent layered prims and animated textures.

For years, I have been making pencil and felt-tip studies for gouache ptgs in RL. I layer the scanned drawings in Photoshop.

I imported some of those Photoshop studies into SL to build the floating overlay paintings.

    • Notes on Click Color Art**

“Click color” refers to the ability for the viewer/participant to click on an element to change its color.

The ability to alter the color of elements can undermine or enhance The composition. This is left up to the participants Level of interest and engagement.

I want to make works that engage the viewer and invite active participation. I value playfulness, intuition and, above all, beauty as important qualities in art making.

Thank you
