[10:12] JaneD DeCuir: hm

[10:12] Swapps Swenson: Was heisst "ins Auge fassen" ?

[10:14] Jean Linden: I write a bit faster in english and text is going slow right now with everyone in the room

[10:14] Lexus Ling: Jean, your words in god ear ;)

[10:14] Monalisa Robbiani: phils ear

[10:14] Jean Linden: so I apologize I will need to practice my germany another time :)

[10:15] Hannibal Hudson: JaneD nu lass doch Jean erstmal loslegen, beschweren kannst dich immernoch später .. ok?

[10:15] You: ich kann im notfall übersetzen :)

[10:15] Jahna Bing: hallo zusammen

[10:15] JaneD DeCuir: oh, hoher besuch... silvio

[10:15] Monalisa Robbiani: write in english we translate, much faster

[10:15] Jean Linden: thanks everyone

[10:15] January Lightfoot: engl is fine

[10:15] Jean Linden: Alright as most of you know germany is our second largest community

[10:15] January Lightfoot: pls just go on, ..

[10:15] Jean Linden: and we have a crap load to do

[10:15] Swapps Swenson: *We will publish a translated Chatlog later at Slinfo*

[10:16] Monalisa Robbiani: crap load.. who wants to translate:)

[10:16] Melina Mendes: crap load = viel arbeit

[10:16] Miefmupfel Willis: ein riesen bündel

[10:16] Jean Linden: we just relaunched the website again but it still needs a lot of work

[10:16] Miefmupfel Willis: genau

[10:16] JaneD DeCuir: thats shure

[10:17] Jean Linden: is there are german web developers out there that may be looking for a job, please send me your resume

[10:17] Jean Linden: we relaunched the viewer as well, and also parts of the knowledge base as you here probably all know

[10:18] Jean Linden: but again, we still have a lot to do

[10:18] Jean Linden: I want to focus a lot more on what else we can do for the communities right now

[10:19] Jean Linden: how can we better support the community gateways, slinfo, slinside and all the other businesses that are based in germany

[10:20] JaneD DeCuir: they collect the most important problems and questions and a linden employee anwers it from time to time

[10:20] Jean Linden: right now I'm in the process of putting together the internal pitch for the next couple quarters on what we need to do and to be able to prioritize them

[10:21] Jean Linden: and I need your help

[10:21] Lexus Ling: then did LindenLab plant, resolve the big problems and bugs in SL ?

[10:21] Swapps Swenson: How about a open Question-List monthly ... the Answeres will be worked out from a offical Linden

[10:21] JaneD DeCuir: yes

[10:21] Jean Linden: lexus, we have many plans this year to solve a lot of our big probelms

[10:21] JaneD DeCuir: thats what i mean

[10:21] Jean Linden: when it comes to stability and our ability to scale

[10:22] Jean Linden: with havok and mono to come out, that should help a great deal

[10:22] January Lightfoot: chrash..

[10:22] Swapps Swenson: Slinfo and Slinside will create a monthly list with the most wanted Answeres from their Members and give it to an offical Linden

[10:23] Melina Mendes: in my experience, since i joined SL about a year ago, the client has much improved, but the more the client gets stable, the more the grid gets instable ... there is an issue with the grid almost every day

[10:23] Jean Linden: but it's still going to be a challenging road this year - as some of you may have seen in last nights broadcast

[10:23] JaneD DeCuir: and the answer would be direcltyy showed from the linden then

[10:23] Swapps Swenson: I think this would solve many problems ?!

[10:23] JaneD DeCuir: ...and not from the forum admins

[10:23] Jean Linden: Swapps - I would like to get that list (hopefully I can convince lotte to help me with it)

[10:23] January Lightfoot: title red

[10:24] Monalisa Robbiani: grid issues are not the topic now I think. its about connection to a specific foreign language community

[10:24] Swapps Swenson: A very good and important first step

[10:24] Jean Linden: thank you monalisa - that is it

[10:24] You: absolutely :)

[10:25] Jean Linden: I have often said in the last year that international needs a lot more attention

[10:25] Monalisa Robbiani: what about an official translation of the linden blog?

[10:25] JaneD DeCuir: and how you would to resolve that?

[10:25] Monalisa Robbiani: the german client also needs to be retranslated

[10:25] Jean Linden: absolutely! that's actually partly why i'm looking for a webdev

[10:26] Swapps Swenson: @monalisa: What about the inoffical Translations at Slinfo? Is it not good enough ?

[10:26] Jean Linden: monalisa, I'd love to understand that better because it's going through 3 translators because we've deemed them bad

[10:26] Jean Linden: now I thought the last one was better than the past

[10:26] Monalisa Robbiani: its not about good or bad.. its about being released by LL themselved, with a link on their site, thats a bit difference

[10:27] Monalisa Robbiani: *big difference

[10:27] JaneD DeCuir: why you didnt hire a professional translator?

[10:27] Jean Linden: swapps - what would be interesting if I had a webdev that worked with you and your team... maybe something we can play around with

[10:27] Monalisa Robbiani: the client wasnt translated by a pro, that is obvious

[10:27] Jean Linden: we did

[10:27] You: mona, we are aware that you are all waiting for official german info, and we have it on our list

[10:27] Head Replacement: maybe it wasn't translated by someone who knew where which string showed up

[10:27] You: as jean says :)

[10:28] Jean Linden: we hired 3, the last one is one of the big ones

[10:28] JaneD DeCuir: that sounds not good

[10:28] Head Replacement: Like Properties => Grundstücke

[10:28] Jean Linden: like largest privately held translation company in the world

[10:28] Monalisa Robbiani grins

[10:28] JaneD DeCuir: and they are situated in the US?

[10:28] Monalisa Robbiani: i think its more important that someone who actually uses SL does the translation work

[10:29] Swapps Swenson: *cool*

[10:29] Jean Linden: honestly though - is it like painfully bad? or is it 5-10 items that could be better said?

[10:29] Jean Linden: I put that in the contract

[10:29] Monalisa Robbiani: umm it is.. bad:)

[10:29] Jean Linden: actually that they're translators HAD to login and use SL

[10:29] JaneD DeCuir: lol

[10:29] Head Replacement: ok, but I still wonder if they use all the functions then

[10:29] Monalisa Robbiani: versionsschlüssel release keys :/

[10:30] Head Replacement: I mean if you don't build you probably don't know where what message appears in that area

[10:30] Jean Linden: oh wow, that is a bad one

[10:30] Monalisa Robbiani: if you KNOW the english client you DO know

[10:31] Head Replacement: well, just saying that "using SL" is a quite flexible term ;-)

[10:31] Jean Linden: well, if there's anything I learned about translations this year and Jaime linden who's been handling it for the last half year, it goes through many iterations

[10:31] Monalisa Robbiani: using the english client on a regular basis:)

[10:31] Swapps Swenson: *nods*

[10:31] Head Replacement: "do not translate something unless you have seen it in the client" might be a different approach ;-)

[10:32] Jean Linden: I had dreamt of an online community based translation took

[10:32] Jean Linden: tool

[10:32] Head Replacement: or go with the community but this also might not be the easiest process

[10:32] Monalisa Robbiani: i know those problems.. i did translation work for websites and softwares.. if you dont use it yourself you will mess up:)

[10:32] Jean Linden: actually billmonk has one but they used ruby on rails and that we try to stay away

[10:33] January Lightfoot: i think the tool is possible and makes a lot of sense to involve the communety

[10:33] JaneD DeCuir: und das heisst?

[10:33] Jean Linden: and having to keep up the versions everytime the client updates can be messy

[10:33] Lexus Ling: did LL planed, the prim limit make lower from the prim size ?

[10:33] Swapps Swenson: @ Jean : Did you contact Igel Hawks in the past ? She is Leader of our LL-Blog Translate-Group at slinfo

[10:33] Jean Linden: january - if you know someone who can build it, I know someone who can buy it

[10:33] Jean Linden: :)

[10:34] Monalisa Robbiani: anoither big thing is the JIRA. thats where you can really voice your opinions, make suggestens and contributions. but if you don't know english well, you cannot take part in it.

[10:34] January Lightfoot: the translation for the client should be closed though, but there can be open translations on the website f.ex

[10:34] JaneD DeCuir: that would be better for building if that shi**y limit goes up

[10:35] Jean Linden: swapps - nope but maybe we can all sit down with igel and figure out some options?

[10:35] Monalisa Robbiani: jane thats another topic

[10:35] January Lightfoot: i actually know someone

[10:35] JaneD DeCuir: but important

[10:35] January Lightfoot: or even a group i know

[10:36] Swapps Swenson: @ Jean, k! I heard something about contacts between LL und her in the Past. Thats why i asked

[10:36] Jean Linden: unfortunately I can't speak to the prim limit - lotte, do you know anything about htat?

[10:36] January Lightfoot: freinds actally, i wil seend you all information and contact later

[10:36] Monalisa Robbiani: there is a jisa about it

[10:36] Monalisa Robbiani: jira

[10:36] Monalisa Robbiani: vote for it

[10:36] You: no, i'm sorry, I don't have info on that ....

[10:36] Jean Linden: swapps - could be with jaime?

[10:36] You: and what mona suggests is something i want to take up in one of the next office hours, namely how to use the jira :)

[10:37] Swapps Swenson: @jean : I dont know. I will point her later at this translated Chatlog

[10:37] Jean Linden: ihr konnte auch of Deutsch fragen wenn es einfacher (to the rest of the room)

[10:37] Monalisa Robbiani: its important

[10:37] Lexus Ling: LL boarder the design creativity with the prim size limit ander the 0.010 size, that is importend fro all design

[10:37] You: so maybe we can put those questions off untill then?

[10:37] JaneD DeCuir: or larger then 10Meters lexus

[10:38] JaneD DeCuir: i thinked linden would resolve that limit and its actually testing on the beta grid?

[10:38] Seraina Benelli: the 0.01 limit is not realy a problem

[10:38] You: jane, lexus, can we for now stay with community questions, please?

[10:38] torchia Auer: but is to laggy when used this prims

[10:39] JaneD DeCuir: stimmt

[10:39] Monalisa Robbiani: hey

[10:39] You: we don't have the opportunity to talk to our international manager every day :)

[10:39] Monalisa Robbiani: stop prim limits now pls

[10:39] Seraina Benelli: ;-)

[10:39] Jean Linden: but I do hope to come more often if lotte will have me :)

[10:39] Lexus Ling: oki, sera

[10:39] Jahna Bing: there is a way to build smaer primes

[10:39] Jahna Bing: l

[10:40] Jean Linden: I got a question for you all

[10:40] You: oh, i'd be delighted to have you more often, and i'm sure everyone agrees :)
