Discussion points:

• Activating groups, search, map, tp and profiles don’t seem to be working… • Climate is different in Germany than other countries right now; we’re developing communications for Germany right now • Tao’s friend in Germany, “will be relieved when this SL thing is over” • It seems that in Germany SL is perceived (more strongly) as just a game • They’re (germans) are not used to it, and don’t get it when they just look at it • Blogsphere where somebody said SL was “dangerous” http://www.sixtus.net/entry/856_0_1_0_C/ • Per Khamon, what we call the world of SL is going to have to expand into different realms of serve; the grid software alone won’t keep up with the expansion even with the types of changes the AWG is working on. Web services, voice participation via cell phone and such will have to be considered part of “the world” • Sun & project wonderland: very interesting: will it be a large world, or if their open source project will be used to create multiple small closed worlds • Question from Robin: if people start using open sim, what do you think the cost what do you think the cost should be to connect to the SL grid? * $200/mo; *less than an island owner * what are ll’s costs/terms of service?? * for $200/mo for connecting to the SL grid, when they’re already contracting for servers and bandwidth seems unreasonable * • Discussion of vwinterop.wikidot.com • Opensim isn’t the same as interoperability; opensim is changing all the time, opensim focused toward people wanting to host their own self defined grids (and not connect to SL)

Potential actions: (Potential) Action Items:

  • #1 items not working
  • http://secondlifegrid.net/how/ “getting started” and “success stories” fail
  • RH to pass Tao’s comments on to PR group, and also discuss with the marketing person assigned to Germany
  • Survey on login page to be implement Q109
  • Question: Does Philip’s vision, is there some thought to different VW’s communicating w/ each other using standard protocols
