Phillip Hultcrantz: Thur he is.
Torley Linden: I have RETURNED.
Rinoa Rives: even immy's lawl is pink and green
Ranos Brumer: Hi.
Imnotgoing Sideways: Hii~iiii~iiiii (^_^)
Torley Linden: i am here to stay this time
Gwynn Blackburn: Welcome back!
Marianne McCann: Hiya
Haaku Duranjaya: ((never mind))
Geneko Nemeth: RIENDLY GREETINGS TORLEY!!
Dakota Tebaldi: Hi Torley!

Squirrel Wood: Hello Torley ^^
icktoofay Kamachi: FRIENDLY GREETINGS!
Harleen Gretzky: Hi Torley
Caitlyn Clawtooth: heyas Torley
Torley Linden shouts: FRIENDLY GREETINGS!
Rinoa Rives: hehe
Torley Linden: wow this is awesome, thanx for waiting for me!
JetZep Zabelin: =D
Marianne McCann shouts: Greetings of Friendliness!
Torley Linden: i was just toruing SL5B stuff with Melissa Linden... a real thrill to see the variety of exhibits thus far
Haaku Duranjaya: hi torley!!!
Squirrel Wood: speshul t-shirt delivery :p
Zeb Finesmith: ok what is happening here
Imnotgoing Sideways: Kike, hi, and stuff. (^_^)y
Imnotgoing Sideways: Like*
Torley Linden: *touring (gee, "toruing" looks like "torusing")
Imnotgoing Sideways: Lawl ^-^
Mayumi Fride: hi Torley : )
Marianne McCann: You gotta see Loki Eliots in SL5B MOve
Marianne McCann: It's amazing
Caitlyn Clawtooth: Torley: wait till you get to kids5b .... watermellon colored islands
Imnotgoing Sideways: Ooh. (o.o)
Torley Linden: so those of you who are new and such, this is my office hour. we usually talk about different things like my job responsibilities (i'm Resident Enlightenment Manager)
Rinoa Rives: ooo... gotta see gotta see
Torley Linden: ohhh nifty i wanna check those out
Geneko Nemeth: Aachoo!
Marianne McCann: Loki
Torley Linden: more info about who i am and what i do can be found @ http://torley.com/info
Squirrel Wood gave you T-Shirt Torley's Revenge.
Torley Linden: thx for the shirt, Squirrel, hope to see that soon
Marianne McCann: s is a virtual walk through interactive storybook. Amazing stuff.
Squirrel Wood: ^^
Squirrel Wood: It is oh-so-pink-and-green ^^
Multi Chair Crate v1.0.42 (TORLEY MOD) whispers: Maximum number of chairs reached, please rez another Multi Chair table.
Dakota Tebaldi: I can't build, so I gotta wait to see all the cool stuff.
Torley Linden: inspiring and wild, that's for sure
Torley Linden: so what's new and exciting! please feel free to spontaneously say it! heck, it's what i do
Pwnage Michigan: =D
Imnotgoing Sideways: I totally checked out the Second Life™ Shadows Client this past week. (^_^)
Haaku Duranjaya: i am trying out your software that u mentioned for media streaming!
Imnotgoing Sideways: You gotta tell me what machine you ran that on... It was a lagfest for me! (>_<)
Marianne McCann: I gave ya a link to my Bay City location yesterday, Torley. It's neat to see that whole area start to develop. Some gems there. Some rough stones too, but I think it will smooth out
Torley Linden: ah, to clarify: it's not my software, but MediaMaster is a fun 3rd-party service
Phillip Hultcrantz: Shadows in SL. When will this be working on ATI cards?
Ranatah Anatra: Yes, I got questions about the shadow client again, tried to email you about it, Torley, but no replies...
Torley Linden: haha kewl... yeah those shadows are exciting
Haaku Duranjaya: but you did mention it in your blog
Torley Linden: i got your landmark Mri, thx!
Ranos Brumer: Shadow Client?
Pwnage Michigan: Torley im your biggest fan ^^\
Dakota Tebaldi: Hey Torley, what are the odds on you getting put in charge of SL6B?
Torley Linden: Imnotgoing: i'm on 8800 GTS and it's EXPERIMENTAL right now; compatibility/optimization will inevitably follow initial testing
Marianne McCann: It looks best at night, Torley. I spent some time with ligiting effecs and theme there
Torley Linden: that's so nice of you to say Pwnage, what made you choose that name?
Imnotgoing Sideways: Ah.. I'm running a pair of 8600GT cards... I fell to 4fps. (T_T)
Torley Linden: Dakota: likely slim, but why do you ask? :)
LifeFactory Writer: ao off
Ranos Brumer: the 8600 series is weak
Pwnage Michigan: I planned to use it for cobat mostly.. and as a gamer I couldnt resist a name like Pwnage haha.
Ranatah Anatra: Buy 8800 GTX or higher! :D
Pwnage Michigan: combat*
Ranos Brumer: i got better performance out of my 6800 gt oc on agp
Squirrel Wood: Morphvox ^^
Imnotgoing Sideways: Yeah... buts less than $100 and I'm not a gamer... so..... heh. (^_^)
Dakota Tebaldi: No particular reason - just thought you'd be a good organizer for it.
Phillip Hultcrantz: Considering my ATI HD 3870X2 is on par if not more powerful than any 8800 Based card, I'm quite dissapointed that I was crashing when I used the Shadow client, but hopefully this will be fixed later on.
Ranatah Anatra: But, Torley?
Torley Linden: (sorry i see voice lines but don't have audio on right now)
Geneko Nemeth: Nyaa?
Ranatah Anatra: Ah.
Torley Linden: thanks for trying Shadows and i emphasize that it's intentionally limited right now because of preliminary testing... i've been getting the word out about it to excite and inspire people
Imnotgoing Sideways: It was a blast... I took pictures and showed them off to my friends. (^_^)
Ranatah Anatra: Torley: Is there a chance there will be a more stable shadow client soon?
Ranatah Anatra: I mean...
icktoofay Kamachi: Is it just me or are profiles slow at the moment?
Torley Linden: AS A GENERAL GUIDELINE, it's a goal whenever we introduce new visual features (or otherwise), to make them compatible with as broad a variety of system as we can, technical limitations nonwidthstanding
Zeb Finesmith: ok i am confused here
Paul Bumi: the rendered shadows?
Haaku Duranjaya: especially with laptops...
Imnotgoing Sideways: Totally... Real time rendered shadows. (^_^)
Ranos Brumer: Realtime shadows take alot of power
Zeb Finesmith: of everythig
Rinoa Rives: I cant wait ^ ^
Imnotgoing Sideways: Yeah... I learned that the hard way. (>_<)
Paul Bumi: i think it will be awesome outdoor
Torley Linden: but please don't expect too much from Shadows *in its current state*... there will be a LOT that changes with that and other features from initial prototypes to more stable builds
Ranatah Anatra: I like to use the shadow client for inspiring usage too, as I draw too, and shadows in Secondlife can help me examine how shadows cast more easily.
Paul Bumi: but indoors i dunno
JetZep Zabelin: Is there shadows now? I missed that blog post.. unless it was today i didnt check yet
Phillip Hultcrantz: Yeah I got the chance to see it on my friends computer, although it lagged like mad on his 8600GT it still looked quite nice. I can honestly say that the day that get's implimented into SL is the day I can be truly happy with SL.
Torley Linden: that's precisely why it's not a First Look yet, we haven't even qualified it for that
Imnotgoing Sideways: True that. (^_^)y
Torley Linden: but for early adopters and people who aren't scared of stuff breaking, that's why the open source shadow-draft repository is in the wild
Ranos Brumer: Hard enough doing raytraced shadows in any 3d package
Imnotgoing Sideways giggles.
Ranatah Anatra: So it's pretty far away still? o.o'
Haaku Duranjaya giggles
Torley Linden: Ranatah, yes, but i say that vaguely because we do not have a precise timeframe for it
Imnotgoing Sideways: Hopefully that gives the hardware makers time to catch up. (^_^)
Phillip Hultcrantz: Hardware is caught up.
Torley Linden: the main graphics guru working on it is Runitai Linden... for specific questions about it, i highly recommend asking on the SLDev list
Ranos Brumer: oh ya
Phillip Hultcrantz: But only high end hardware
Paul Bumi: one of the objections was people dropping out of SL when the client asks more of their computer... why not make an on/off button :)
Ranatah Anatra: Weird that only the Geforce 8 works, has the Geforce 9 been tested with it?
Imnotgoing Sideways: Ooh... Noted.. Thanks. (^_^)y
Torley Linden: GREAT point about "hardware catching up"
Marianne McCann: If I could run it, I would - but no mac version
Phillip Hultcrantz: GF9's are just GF8's with a die shrink for the most part.
Imnotgoing Sideways: AuuuTorley
Ranatah Anatra: Dah, of course they'll make an on/off box.
Marianne McCann: Sooner or later
Haaku Duranjaya wishes she could become a linden someday...
Torley Linden: GeForce 9xxx is still very spanking new, i don't know which cards we have inhouse to test that offhand... i do know Runitai has a 8800 GT (among others)
Paul Bumi: me2
Paul Bumi: :P
Squirrel Wood: nvidia gtx 280 ^^
Dakota Tebaldi: Mari - the coolest stuff only runs on Windows! :)
Squirrel Wood: even newer :p
LifeFactory Writer: ao on
Torley Linden: higher tech becomes available with cheaper pricse
Imnotgoing Sideways: When Shadows goes first look... I'll hit Newegg in a split second. (^_^)
Ranatah Anatra: Oh ye, those new 260/280 cards....
Rinoa Rives: I'm looking at GeForce 9... I've gotten some good reviews
Dakota Tebaldi nods @ Immy
Torley Linden: https://lists.secondlife.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/sldev
Haaku Duranjaya: especially with the apple iphones
Haaku Duranjaya giggles
Caitlyn Clawtooth: Dakota: but the entire microsoft OS can run in a window on a mac! :)
Torley Linden: my own card is a 8800 GTS which i decided on after shopping around a lot...
Dakota Tebaldi: I'd upgrade my computer to run the shadows client.
Torley Linden: always helps to hunt for bargains =)
Geneko Nemeth can't keep up with the sheer number of posts in sldev T_T
Ranatah Anatra: Torley, why not the GTX? :B
Paul Bumi: Torley, i checked out the office hours.. i was looking for a pure graphics linden, but theres only one mentioned and its on the teen grid
Marianne McCann: I jes upgraded a coupel months ago. Running the Windlight client at full speed was a selling point!
Torley Linden: Ranatah, it cost too much for me at the time and i didn't need the extra power for that price.
Marianne McCann: Hmn... I'm seeing signs of asset failure
icktoofay Kamachi: Yeah.
Dakota Tebaldi: yes, Windlight rocks.
icktoofay Kamachi: Profiles are slow.
Pwnage Michigan: >.<
Ranatah Anatra: Here in Holland the GTX has the same price as the GTS now. O_o'
Imnotgoing Sideways: Mari... Is AA available for the MAC client? Just wondering. (^_^)
Marianne McCann: Failed photo uploads, friends unable to rez... yikes
Marianne McCann: Immy - AA?
Torley Linden: Paul, for the time being i'd suggest asking on the SLDev list; Qarl Linden on the http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Office_Hours list is also really knowledgeable, graphics-wise
Geneko Nemeth: Anti Alias.
Imnotgoing Sideways: Antiailiasing.. .In Hardware options. (^_^)
Torley Linden: ah crap i'm noticing asset problems too @_@
Ranatah Anatra: Oh god....
Ranos Brumer: not available on 1.19
Haaku Duranjaya: awwww
Caitlyn Clawtooth waves a protection spell in the general direction of the database
Torley Linden: things have evolved to the point tho that we have more dedicated Lindens monitoring for hardware failure
Asset Server: Nobody can hear you scream!!!!
Zeb Finesmith: hahaha
Torley Linden: in the "old days" i used to have to ping and alert someone
Rinoa Rives: hehe
Dakota Tebaldi: (the server is kicking our assets)
Torley Linden: but now they're on it every time i check
Haaku Duranjaya: OMG
Marianne McCann: Paging the I world team....
Asset Server: Muahahahahahahaaaaa! *cough*
icktoofay Kamachi quotes Torley on "[12:12] Torley Linden: ah crap i'm noticing asset problems too @_@"
Torley Linden: i <3 I-World
Torley Linden: haha
Rinoa Rives: ROFL IMMY
Imnotgoing Sideways: Lawl ^-^
icktoofay Kamachi: ...as soon as my picks will load...
Torley Linden: a test i often use to see if something's up with the database is, i try to send a postcard...
Ranatah Anatra: Oh, Torley, do you get much mail lately, you replied none of my mails. o.o'
Torley Linden: if the From: name doesn't fill in, then there's likely a problem
JetZep Zabelin: hehe "lawl" someday it will be in the dictionary
Caitlyn Clawtooth: Torley: well, the asset server caused us to redo our entire area .... the owner was moving it all to sl5b for a few weeks ... and the asset server crashed while everything was in her inventory
Torley Linden: i get too much email (100s a week), and no assistants or clones to help right now! i apologize if i can't reply personally...
Torley Linden: but if you have a question please feel free to ask here
Haaku Duranjaya: can i help you in one of your video tutiorials someday, torley???
Marianne McCann: Did anyone mention Kids5B? I've had the joy of watching it come together. What an amazing event. It coulda been all mean an bitter - but it's fun!
Torley Linden: (sorry i can't accept friendship offers either, too much to keep track of, thanks for asking tho :) )
Asset Server: Why does everyone blame me for everything?
Dakota Tebaldi: Torley - can I get one of your bears?
Torley Linden: how would you like to help, Haaku?
Torley Linden: Mari, +1 for amazing
Pwnage Michigan: Can I just get a picture with you one day Torley? xD
Torley Linden: Dakota, of course
Torley Linden: Pwnage if you want to come closer you're totally welcome to
Paul Bumi: lol
Haaku Duranjaya: i'm up for anything
Pwnage Michigan: Would now.. but I have my prims off to control lag
Ranatah Anatra: Torley: Well, just wanted to know if there was a way to get a rather stable shadow client, because now, when I patch RC10, it makes me crash on teleport, and some teleport buttons do not work.
Haaku Duranjaya: the sky's the limit!
icktoofay Kamachi: No, 4096m is the limit! XD
Torley Linden: Ranatah: answer for now is "no", shadow viewer is unstable and experimental
Paul Bumi: the RC has live shadows?
Paul Bumi: i thought you needed to compile ur own
Gwynn Blackburn grins at icktoofay.
Marianne McCann: There goes a postcard.
Haaku Duranjaya: no... not that
Imnotgoing Sideways: Ranatah, I was a bit more lucky than you... Teleports worked... But going back to the RC was a pain and I needed to re-install. (>_<)
Asset Server Admin is lazy
Haaku Duranjaya: i did go up to 8000m one time
Ranatah Anatra: Allright then, I know enough, thanks Torley.
Geneko Nemeth: ... what postcard?
icktoofay Kamachi: Yeah. I meant for prims.
Ranatah Anatra: Going to get back to what I was doing. :D
Torley Linden: postcards: click "Snapshot" button and select "Send a postcard"
Torley Linden: =)
Imnotgoing Sideways: Ooh.. Snapzilla? (^_^)
Dakota Tebaldi accepted your inventory offer.
Geneko Nemeth: Yeah! Snapzilla!
Caitlyn Clawtooth shudders if she ever has to go back to a standard client after getting hooked on Nicholaz
Haaku Duranjaya: well... i was wondering... what are you gonna make next for the video tutiorals, torley?
Marianne McCann loves Snapzilla - and it shows
Torley Linden: i fully endorse sharing your Second Life via snapshots/postcards to the outside world :)
Imnotgoing Sideways: You're not alone Mari. (^_^)y
Torley Linden: SLBuzz, Snapzilla, Flickr, blogHUD, etc.
Caitlyn Clawtooth: "what do you mean there is a 'release keys' button?"
Dakota Tebaldi still uses photobucket.
Torley Linden: Haaku: next up is likely a series on popular questions about GROUPS
Marianne McCann: I swear by RC10. At least til tomorow
Paul Bumi: pass me a slice of melon plz ^^
Marianne McCann giggles
Imnotgoing Sideways pokes Dakota. (<_<)
Dakota Tebaldi accepted your inventory offer.
Torley Linden: and i'm also doing a "how to record voice chat" one, that keeps getting asked
Dakota Tebaldi nudges Immy
Haaku Duranjaya: well... u can use me as an example
Imnotgoing Sideways: Heh.. Recording voice chat can lead to .... ."issues". (^_^)
Haaku Duranjaya: i got 25 groups in my profile
Marianne McCann: I'd love some more on media on parcel. The use of deeded radios and the like
Haaku Duranjaya: and when i max out, i get myself an alt account
Geneko Nemeth: MAFIAA says you're not supposed to record the audio that comes from your speakers T_T
Dakota Tebaldi accepted your inventory offer.
Torley Linden: Imnotgoing: the basic principle behind it is to use "What U Hear/Stereo Mix" mode.
Torley Linden: there are apps like SoundTap, Total Recorder, Audio Hijack (on Mac) that can also help.
Imnotgoing Sideways: I'm referring more to social issues. (^_^)
Torley Linden: Haaku: aye, with groups too, what a lot of people don't know (which should be more obvious) is how Roles can function as sub-groups within a group
Torley Linden: so instead of creating a new group, make a Role
Multi Chair Crate v1.0.42 (TORLEY MOD) whispers: Maximum number of chairs reached, please rez another Multi Chair table.
Ranos Brumer sighs
Dakota Tebaldi accepted your inventory offer.
Geneko Nemeth: Saves L$100?
LifeFactory Writer: did you make a video about groups, Torley?
icktoofay Kamachi: Torley: I found the region you did the "group liabilities" tutorial in and found a platform created by you and owned by Maintenance at about 500m. :p
Geneko Nemeth: He did.
Dakota Tebaldi: thanks Torley :)
Imnotgoing Sideways: NCI has a group management class too. (^_^)
LifeFactory Writer: kewl. :)
LifeFactory Writer: I'll look for it.
Ranos Brumer: haha
Marianne McCann: Hi Phate!
Haaku Duranjaya: well... torley, if you plan to use me in one of your tutorial videos... drop an IM to me... ok?
Torley Linden: Imnotgoing i don't know what their latest curriculum is but if so I APPLAUD THEM
Rinoa Rives: Rawr ^-^
Phate Shepherd: Howdy... still loading ;-)
Torley Linden: Haaku ok =) thanks for volunteering
Torley Linden: LifeFactory, i've done several on that before
Cube Republic: hi everyone
Torley Linden: but groups is vast (like land)
Torley Linden: so hot topics need MORE FREAKIN' EXPLAINING
Paul Bumi: might be the wrong place to ask but: Does anyone have problems with their voice client disconnecting every 5min or so
LifeFactory Writer: I thought I had seen them all! Guess I have missed a few.
Haaku Duranjaya: unfortuantely, the limit on groups is too low
Torley Linden: icktoofay, yes, that's where i sort my inventory and test theories.
Imnotgoing Sideways: Totally... Searching in events for "NCI" will get you a whole weeks roster most of the time. (^_^)y
Rinoa Rives: hehe
Torley Linden: Paul, i've had that on occasion and it freezes my viewer and makes my sound input selector pop up... it's rather disorienting
Imnotgoing Sideways: And if you find a mistake, you can report it and get some monies in return. (^_^)
Haaku Duranjaya: there needs to be a higher limit on groups... LoL
Marianne McCann: With my land now I've been workin out all the stuff with group access an all dat
Torley Linden: Haaku maybe someday after a web of interconnected and very complex communications problems are solved
Squirrel Wood: Hot pink needs an equal amount of poison green, indeed!
Torley Linden: we want to fix those before adding more groups
JetZep Zabelin: Hey Torley, can I ask you a Q about groups: I heard if you disband a group, that name can NEVER be taken again, is it true?
Torley Linden: (e.g., current complaints about group chats failing)
Paul Bumi: I'm now and expert at doing this: CTRL+P > Device settings > X > X
Imnotgoing Sideways giggles.
Torley Linden: JetZep: yes, that's true.
Geneko Nemeth: That's awful...
Paul Bumi: and it resets it for me
Paul Bumi: :)
Torley Linden: that's general policy and while there've been rare/old/historical exceptions, it's true.
JetZep Zabelin: =D ok good lol
Torley Linden: glad you asked!
icktoofay Kamachi: Torley, would you mind looking at http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-7592 ?
Torley Linden: apparently someone used "Video Tutorials" as a group name before i ever came along and that's why i wasn't able to get that group name
Rinoa Rives: ahahaha ^ ^
Haaku Duranjaya: awwww
Paul Bumi: ban him and take over
LifeFactory Writer: Does that also mean the original creator of the group cannot resurrect it?
Paul Bumi: :)
Imnotgoing Sideways: Lawl ^-^
Torley Linden: i'll check it , icktoofay: i must disclaim i'm hardly involved with the public Issue Tracker (PJIRA) currently but i'm glad to see that's linked to the meta-issue...
Torley Linden: LifeFactory: yes, alas so.
Haaku Duranjaya: or you could make a new group called "Torley's Tutorials"
LifeFactory Writer: k
Haaku Duranjaya: LoL
Torley Linden: i made a "Vidtuts" group anyway =) but it's not a big deal
Torley Linden: hmmm icktoofay i should try to repro this later too, thanks for reporting it
Dakota Tebaldi: "Video TuTorleyals"
Cube Republic: i liked the shadows vid:D
Torley Linden: :D
LifeFactory Writer: there you go, Dakota!
Torley Linden: thanx for watching, Cube!
Haaku Duranjaya: that's a good one!
Paul Bumi: I wonder if we are able to host our owns sims and connect to the maingrid in the future :P
Cube Republic: when!!!
Torley Linden: who's already upgraded to Firefox 3? i'm enjoying it a lot more than 2. the speed increase is definitely noticeable.
Paul Bumi: me!
Paul Bumi: and it looks bulky
Ranos Brumer: Got it first day
Haaku Duranjaya: i already did
Torley Linden: Paul, that is starting to happen... you may know IBM is self-hosting regions... and it's being tried by some others...
LifeFactory Writer: runs out to upgrade to FF3 ...
Paul Bumi: i thought that might be the future of SL
Paul Bumi: :)
Cube Republic: i made a region on my machine at home, quite handy
icktoofay Kamachi: No, I can't close Firefox, I'm listening to Torley music!
Paul Bumi: yea i have been fooling around with it also
Haaku Duranjaya: Torley Linden: when are you gonna come on voice for us "voice folks"?
Torley Linden: be careful of old/incompatible add-ons with FF3 BUT... for the most part it's been a sweet upgrade to me
Torley Linden: hahah icktoofay :)
LifeFactory Writer: There are several open-sim/life/grid platforms you might be interested in checking out, Paul. All of them have in world groups too.
Paul Bumi: i like the old Winestripe theme
Krull Aeon: Wow this place is loaded :D
Ranos Brumer: Nifty
Paul Bumi: i would like to see one for FF3
Haaku Duranjaya: yea... lag city... LoL
Pwnage Michigan: brb
Krull Aeon: lol
Torley Linden: Haaku, perhaps in the future if there's enough demand. there hasn't been yet because of many vistors who'd rather not be on voice. i'm open to it, and it'd be a good thing to do if we, say, upgrade voice chat features in the future.
Haaku Duranjaya: sweet...
Torley Linden: one thing that still bothers me with voice chat, one of the things i'd love to see improved, is lack of a soft limiter...
Marianne McCann: Oh! Torley... what can you say about the materials project. Anything?
Krull Aeon: Are you guys on voice
Imnotgoing Sideways: Totally... Needs moar compression. (^_^)
Haaku Duranjaya: i am
icktoofay Kamachi: Like... Text to speech features? =D
LifeFactory Writer: you have such a fun voice, Torley...it would be a vast improvement to have the airwaves filled with it instead of gaspassing gestures that tend to waft by :D
Torley Linden: loud voices get distorted, but if it wasn't too processing-intensive, preventing digital clipping should be a high priority so voices sound better... and so people don't have to worry about "going into the red"
Torley Linden: hahah thanks LifeFactory, i love talking a lot. :)
LifeFactory Writer: :D me too!
Torley Linden: Mari: no news on that at the moment.
Orren Undercroft: Torley, I was wondering if you could do a how to vid on making attachments for hands. I know alot of builder early on stuggle with it.
Marianne McCann: Heh.. needs a "eating on mic" and "coughing" filter
Cube Republic: oh well all to come torley computers are only going to get faster
Torley Linden: Orren: attachments for hands, like swords and drinks and such? and how to script them? what did you have in mind, specifically?
JetZep Zabelin: I almost went deaf a couple times when someone's mic tweaked out
Torley Linden: icktoofay i'll try to repro VWR-7592 later :)
Torley Linden: thanks for reporting it
icktoofay Kamachi: K.
Marianne McCann: JetZep - seeeeeriously
Torley Linden: JetZep, exactly. THAT is what i want to avoid.
Krull Aeon: Wow theres more people here than at the last party I hosted LOL
Torley Linden: voice chat levels are very uneven and that's a pain.
Haaku Duranjaya: i want to make myself a chimera someday, but i do not know how to script one...
Gwynn Blackburn: I would really like to see more tutorials in the vein of the 'Transparent Leek' one... stuff on how to do textures etc. Just wanted to put my vote in there. :)
Torley Linden: i'm an audio engineer by trade so that concerns me terribly.
Orren Undercroft: More like attempts to make armor or the like. Kind of a how to deal with the issue of finger clipping and what just plain doesn't work.
Geneko Nemeth: There are 31 people in region.
Marianne McCann: Issat all?
Imnotgoing Sideways: Rawr ^-^
Cube Republic: yeah you can hear conversation 10000m away
Rinoa Rives: Rawr ^-^
Squirrel Wood: the client does not remember set voice levels still :(
Haaku Duranjaya: ((the green dot effect))
Geneko Nemeth: Yeah that's all.
Torley Linden: Gwynn, thanks for suggesting, glad ya did... in the future i may do a "Joy of Building" series including textures.
Krull Aeon: Are you a fan of Cool Edit Pro
Rinoa Rives: Rawr ^-^
JetZep Zabelin: rawr lawl
Pwnage Michigan: back
LifeFactory Writer: I am up for anything at all that deals with media, machinima, advanced streaming capabilities, etc...although you have already covered this stuff well.
Zeb Finesmith: haaku i am not understanding here lol i am just sitting here with a lot of question going though my loving head
Gwynn Blackburn: Oh that would be awesome Torley.
Rinoa Rives: /ry
Torley Linden: Orren ahh i see.
Imnotgoing Sideways: Lawl ^-^
Paul Bumi: im just glad more and more people are using it.. when i was on the beta i coucldnt wait till it got on the main grid... then when it was finally here nobody used it
Rinoa Rives laughs.
Imnotgoing Sideways: Okies... My internet stealing time is over... (=_=)
Imnotgoing Sideways says Bai Baii!!! (^_^)y
Dakota Tebaldi: awwww
Torley Linden: for specific types of constructions i usually encourage Residents to make tutorials i can distribute because with all the creativity Second Life allows, there's SO many possibilities. i want to make sure i get basics and hot topics answered, with flexibility to take on stuff as-needed and quickly, and keep moving.
Ranos Brumer: I'd like to know how people hide body parts when they atatch objects to em
Rinoa Rives: bye immy
Gwynn Blackburn: Bye Immy!
Dakota Tebaldi: Bye Immy
Torley Linden: take care Imnotgoing
Krull Aeon: I use Cool Edit Pro to master all my post production audio
Haaku Duranjaya: if u have a question to ask torley, just ask
Marianne McCann: Paul - I find I only tend to use it with professional building projects. Otherwise it kinda get in my way
Torley Linden: Ranos, ah, that's an invisiprim trick: a prim with a special texture which renders avatar mesh "invisible"
LifeFactory Writer: those are invisi-prims, RAnos...it is a script
Haaku Duranjaya sends a blowkiss to zeb
Squirrel Wood: invisiprims hide body parts
LifeFactory Writer: oops, sorry, Torley. I think I have the script if you wold like it, Ranos.
Torley Linden: invisiprims are an ugly hack for a number of reasons and they don't totally work...
Gwynn Blackburn: I have an invisiprim script if you'd like one, Ranos.
LifeFactory Writer: nevermind!
Torley Linden: no need to be sorry at all LifeFactory, i appreciate you sharing!
Phate Shepherd: Torley, just popped in to sy I hope you enjoyed the blimp... and a shameless request for a bear for my daughter too ;-)
Torley Linden: sharing of knowledge, it DOTH EXCITE ME GREATLY
Ranos Brumer: ahh ok then
LifeFactory Writer: I am not iving that script out at all! (had no idea it was a hack!) :D
icktoofay Kamachi: Torley, do you know who has the "invisiprim" texture in their inventory?
LifeFactory Writer: *giving
Torley Linden: ohh ohhh sure Phate, what's your daughter's Second Life name? or do you want me to send a bear to you? it's no-transfer
Paul Bumi: Is there ever going to be a fix for the Alpha over Alpha texture glitch?
Paul Bumi: :)
Cube Republic: its not a texture its a script
LifeFactory Writer: I am an unwitting hack-criminial!
JetZep Zabelin: You can be an object you have if you wear an invis prim and the object
Torley Linden: icktoofay, i don't but some people have made their own, and it's a matter of setting the offsets
Paul Bumi: wich annoys me every build
icktoofay Kamachi: Ah.
Torley Linden: Paul, it's a more complicated computer graphics problem, not Second Life-specific...
icktoofay Kamachi: I know the offsets kinda.
icktoofay Kamachi: I meand the actualy applied texture.
Torley Linden: but the reason you see it a lot in SL is because most people don't know how to optimize their builds to conceal that
Paul Bumi: my RL teacher told me it has to do with live rendering
Cube Republic: the alpha stack torley?
Torley Linden: icktoofay, hmm there's an asset key for it i think that can be used, applied, and then the texture can be copied out that way
Paul Bumi: i have to conceal it yes :)
Paul Bumi: yea
Torley Linden: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z-fighting
KatKat Karu: I cant move...bad lag
Cube Republic: oh yeah huge spherical floating gardes are tricky :(
Torley Linden: one cool thing about Second Life (among many, ha) is that it exposes many people who are new to computer graphics, to learning more about how to optimize quality content
Zeb Finesmith: hey what about the econmy
Marianne McCann: Everybuggy was z-fu-fighting..... texture flick fast as lighting....
icktoofay Kamachi: Ah. I meant in someone's actual inventory. It has to reside somewhere in someone's inventory or it'd be deleted eventually... right?
Paul Bumi: lawl Marianne
Cube Republic: i learnt architecture..well bits of from building torley, been useful
Electro Burnstein: icktoofay: really?
Krull Aeon: I think it exists in a Linden Labs default inventory somewhere
Marianne McCann: Torley - Phates daughter is Krystal Wrigglesworth. Not sure if he froze or not
Torley Linden: no icktoofay — if something is applied inworld then deleted from inventory, that doesn't delete it from inworld
Ranos Brumer: I tell you its given me ideas on improveing myself with sgi.
Torley Linden: oh thanks Mari
icktoofay Kamachi: Ah.
Marianne McCann: You're welcome!  :-)
icktoofay Kamachi: Hmmm.
icktoofay Kamachi: Ah well.
Sammy Grigges: sup torley
Krystal Wrigglesworth accepted your inventory offer.
Krystal Wrigglesworth accepted your inventory offer.
Phillie Rhode: Hi Torley :D
Haaku Duranjaya: Zeb: for second life's economy... check out the economic statistics
Phate Shepherd: Ohh my, thanks Torley n Mari ;-)
icktoofay Kamachi: It's still an interesting texture. Some kind of alpha gradient.
Torley Linden: yo yo
Torley Linden: :) welcome to mah office hour
Torley Linden: Haaku: thanks for helping
Ranos Brumer: gotta love gradients
Marianne McCann: Did I mention the materials project yet? I'm very curious, ya know
Gwynn Blackburn: So what is preferable to using the invisiprim hack for very tiny/otherwise nonhuman avatars?
Marianne McCann giggles
Torley Linden: gradients can add so much depth
Haaku Duranjaya: Torley: you're welcome
Zeb Finesmith: haaku: oh i see
Torley Linden: haha yes me too Mari but the devs who'd work on it are busy improving stabilty (i generalize, but Materials currently isn't in-progress that i'm aware of)
Haaku Duranjaya: Torley: i did a successful person report on philip rosedale not long ago
icktoofay Kamachi: Gwynn, none for the moment I think. You might be able to use animations too.
Phillie Rhode: hehe
Marianne McCann: aww... okay
Paul Bumi: that Z fighting explains allot... still is a pain though :)
Dakota Tebaldi: we're in yr office.......makin u werk!
Marianne McCann: Stablilty is way more important (said as my interface breaks)
Zeb Finesmith: ouch lol
Geneko Nemeth: Helping you help us help you all. XD
Gwynn Blackburn: Okay, thanks icktoofay.
Ranos Brumer sighs
LifeFactory Writer: Torley, when you say something is an "ugly hack," does that mean it is preferred that they not be used? Or is that just coder's lingo?
Torley Linden: LifeFactory: it's more of a matter of, "no better solution exists now. so use it, but understand the caveats."
Haaku Duranjaya: Torley: it was a lot of fun, even though i never got a chance to speak with him... because if i spoke with him, i would have gotten bonus points on my report
LifeFactory Writer: understood. ty.
Cube Republic: there once was an ugly hackling tra la la la la
Torley Linden: e.g., with the avatar mesh, we could selectively hide it... BigPapi Linden has some strong (and wise) feelings on that.
Torley Linden: Haaku: ooh, school report?
Geneko Nemeth: Or maybe allow flexiprims as meshes!
Haaku Duranjaya: Torley: yep
Torley Linden: and by the way, apparently, even if you have bald hair in Second Life, there's still a scrunched-up ball of hair inside your head... so it still renders, just isn't easily seen. that should be done away with in the future. :\
Krull Aeon: rofl
Ranos Brumer: i hate that kind of rendering
Phillie Rhode: :-)
JetZep Zabelin: It would also be good if the av mesh was divided into parts instead of one single mesh, that way you could just hide one arm for example
Krull Aeon: Hairballs Ugh
Torley Linden: it was very cool having Windward Mark Inc. join Linden Lab -- the original makers of WindLight...
Ranos Brumer: oh
Marianne McCann: "Scrunched up ball of hair in our head" - there's a quote
Cube Republic: i always thought that was a default linden brain
Cube Republic: lol
Torley Linden: they have a background in game optimization, so they know TONS about what other games do to trick out performance
Paul Bumi: yea some of the hair on the back of your head still sticks out if you have a lil head
Marianne McCann snickers
Orren Undercroft: It was nice seeing you in world Torley. Take care every one.
Phillie Rhode: Bye Orren
Torley Linden: and that's in part what happened when we got WindLight released into the main viewer (1.19.1), is a lot of game optimization and other old code cleanup was applied
Torley Linden: take care Orren and thanks for coming!
Haaku Duranjaya: Torley: i also presented the report to the class... and i wanted to incorporate the program inside the report by bringing my laptop when i was talking to Philip... but he never got a hold of me... :((
Marianne McCann: I do with there was some way to upgrade the mesh. It gets hard to do much with it t small sizes
icktoofay Kamachi cracks back into place.
Haaku Duranjaya: Torley: so i didnt bring my laptop
icktoofay Kamachi cracks back into place.
icktoofay Kamachi cracks back into place.
icktoofay Kamachi: Argh.
icktoofay Kamachi: :p
Torley Linden: so as for people who care about making Second Life more responsive (viewer-side, anyway) and faster like games on the market, that's an ongoing process
Torley Linden: that's a lot of, uh, cracking
Krull Aeon: So Torley the Library and Educational sims are starting a new award here in SL
icktoofay Kamachi cracks back into place.
Dakota Tebaldi: Self-chiropractic. Wave of the future!
JetZep Zabelin: my cat used to crack its tail o.O
Torley Linden: Haaku: ah, pardon to hear that. Philip needs clones too. he's so jovial but, too many things to do in... not enough time.
Haaku Duranjaya: \o/
Multi Chair Crate v1.0.42 (TORLEY MOD) whispers: Maximum number of chairs reached, please rez another Multi Chair table.
Torley Linden: tell me more please, Krull!
Koichi Karu: I've had this deformation likeicktoofay once!..
Paul Bumi: Torley you tested one of those alternative ways of moving around in SL.. i think i saw a new one
Krull Aeon: Yes I will give you a notecard
Paul Bumi: like you really gotta walk
Multi Chair Crate v1.0.42 (TORLEY MOD) whispers: Maximum number of chairs reached, please rez another Multi Chair table.
Cube Republic: linden sponsored walk
Cube Republic: lol
Krull Aeon gave you *Acatemy-Awards-Golden-Leaf-Awards.
Phillie Rhode: *giggles*
Torley Linden: *reads*
Marianne McCann: Paul - I mighta too. I saw a "green dot" moving well below Denby last night. Far below ground surface and invisible even with camera constraints off
Krull Aeon: Take your time to ready that
Krull Aeon: We have a group as well if you would like to join
Cube Republic: theres a hidden avatar machine thing
Torley Linden: is "Acatemy" a pun or is it meant to be "Academy"? :)
Krull Aeon: We can keep you up to date on the event
Krull Aeon: Its a pun
Torley Linden: ooh
Krull Aeon: We cant use academy
Haaku Duranjaya: Torley: oh... because if i did get a chance to speak with Philip, even though i had about 11 online articles and one book source... i thought the chat with philip would give me extra credit
Paul Bumi: Mari?
Torley Linden: Haaku: i'm glad you at least tried, that's what matters... !
Paul Bumi: didnt make sense
Paul Bumi: lol
Haaku Duranjaya: Torley: i even found out that he loves star trek and is left handed, just like me~
Torley Linden: did i hear a Metal Gear Solid sound?
Paul Bumi: yea
Paul Bumi: !
Torley Linden: hahahaha
Paul Bumi: :P
Torley Linden: HIDEO KOJIMA IS A FREAKIN GENIUS
Paul Bumi: for sure
Torley Linden: the man is truely a king amongst game designers
Marianne McCann: Oh, jes a weirdness I saw last night, Paul
Phillie Rhode: hehe
Paul Bumi: i might have to get a PS3
Dakota Tebaldi: You see, we're on a mission from God.
Paul Bumi: to play the awesome guns and patriots
Torley Linden: i look to Kojima's works as inspiration. he puts politics in his games but doesn't do it in an "oh groooooan" way, he infuses them with deep philosophical plots which are fascinating, and a lot of breaking-the-fourth-wall humor
Paul Bumi: yea the humor was bitter sweet
Paul Bumi: lol
Phillie Rhode: *smiling* Yeah.
Paul Bumi: i love the story
Torley Linden: it's cool how this is focused on librarians, Kull...
Phillie Rhode: I like it :D
Krull Aeon: We have a meeting here at 5SLT Torley, if your interested in joining us regarding these awards
Ranos Brumer: Hmm where can one download a standard size mesh in .obj format?
Krull Aeon: Yes and also artists
Krull Aeon: And scripters
Torley Linden: creative people :)
Krull Aeon: Exactly
LifeFactory Writer: I must leave...what a colorful group this is :) Enjoy the day, All!
Torley Linden: have a great one, LifeFactory!
Cube Republic: yeah full creation on sl is multiskill
CeeJay Tigerpaw: As a minor user-interface issue, is there any reason why you shouldn't be allowed to open and unpack things you are wearing? Like, when you have just bought something? That would make it easier for stores to anti-grief by denying rez rights ...
Marianne McCann: Colorful = good (full stop!)
JetZep Zabelin: SL if full of them, I love it
Torley Linden: Kull, i'd like to be updated on it and follow along...
Gwynn Blackburn: Bye LifeFactory!
Krull Aeon: Ok
Phillie Rhode: BTW Torley. all subpages of the vidtut wiki entries are now multi-lang *smiling*
Marianne McCann: Second Life makes being colorful and creative so easy, after all
Torley Linden: CeeJay, ha, i noticed that in a video tutorial. but really... it's not trivial to change. :(
Geneko Nemeth: All? Including Chinese?
Phillie Rhode: Bye Lifefactory
Torley Linden: OH GREAT Phillie thanks, i'll have to check the wiki edits
Pwnage Michigan: Torley.. What video editing software do you use for your videos?
Torley Linden: Pwnage, Camtasia Studio.
Pwnage Michigan: Ok cool.
Torley Linden: details @ http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Torley_Linden/Vidtut_process
Torley Linden: i'm happy to share any and all details
Torley Linden: about how i make video tutorials
Paul Bumi: lol thats useing the same vivid green huh Torley
Torley Linden: no secrets here
Paul Bumi: :D
CeeJay Tigerpaw: "Not trivial" is not the same as "not worth doing"...
Marianne McCann: Friend of mine shot the the other night, It's great how you can just "do this" so easily. http://youtube.com/watch?v=_UqkUadLnUA
Rinoa Rives: I've used it for my UI showreels ^ ^
Torley Linden: CeeJay, yup, but it hasn't had a high enough priority above other relative projects. Phoenix or James Linden (who've been with LL since the near-beginning) can explain why it's a considerably large project.
CeeJay Tigerpaw: TY Torley..
Torley Linden: it's connected to the old "i wish i could preview Inventory stuff easier without rezzing it" which makes total human sense
Phillie Rhode: human, but not SL sense LOL
Torley Linden: or "why does it show (nobody) as aggregate creator when infact this object was made by multiple people?"
Marianne McCann: That's *quite* a mallet
Altoid Jayaram: ty
Geneko Nemeth: No Chinese :<
Torley Linden: haha Mari, it's kinda funny how Rick Roll is related vid on that... you could do an Mmmari bop
Multi Chair Crate v1.0.42 (TORLEY MOD) whispers: Maximum number of chairs reached, please rez another Multi Chair table.
Torley Linden: i welcome additional translations for http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Video_Tutorials
Steel Halasy: Who said humans make sense to begin with? :)
Torley Linden: for all those languages i do not speak!
Marianne McCann: Torley - The Mari Roll!
Paul Bumi: Dutch?
Crunk Munster: Wow
Crunk Munster: laggy
Torley Linden: Steel, ha, yeah, we have a lot of irrationalities.
Paul Bumi: :)
Marianne McCann laughs hysterically
Torley Linden: MARIROLL sounds like sushi
Torley Linden: =)
Caitlyn Clawtooth: Torley: too bads we can not get more info on items .... where they will attach is a plus ..... is like russian roulette sometimes
Altoid Jayaram: Hi crunk
Marianne McCann: Mmmmm
Phillie Rhode: @Paul: Why not? Just do it
Torley Linden: Caitlyn: agree, that usability could be improved...
Crunk Munster: Wow
Crunk Munster: i finally get to meet you Torley. Hi
Gwynn Blackburn: Oh man... yeah, knowing where something will attach would be brilliant.
Torley Linden: hey Crunk! welcome aboard!
Crunk Munster: thanks
Marianne McCann: I'll take a Mariroll, some tobiko, and a california roll...
Phillie Rhode: I like the new structure of the vidtut pages
Torley Linden: yeah, awhile ago we added the ability to see WHERE things are already attached to, but saying where they'd go in advance... hasn't been done yet.
Phillie Rhode: much more usefull now
Torley Linden: thanks Phillie!
Phillie Rhode: yw
Torley Linden: i labored over that because with so many videos, they need to be easy to find
Caitlyn Clawtooth: always detaching my tail when taking a look at new acquisitions
CeeJay Tigerpaw: (Torley, my question was related to the Violet folks seeing a lot of newbies who don't know how to unpack boxes, and there being no easy way to show them how in a welcome area with no rez rights.)
Phillie Rhode: Was a bit difficult in transition for the DE pages, but it worked in the end
Soap Clawtooth: Helloooo!
Torley Linden: so true CeeJay, i agree that needs to be simpler. it's utterly inconvenient to say,
Phillie Rhode: Hiya Soap!
Torley Linden: "find somewhere you can rez" to someone who's new
Gwynn Blackburn: As a sidenote Torley, thank you for leaving bugs and errors in your videos. I like not being shown false interactions, a false view of things, etc.
Torley Linden: because if they don't know about sandboxes and such, then it's difficult!
Soap Clawtooth: hey torley :)
Geneko Nemeth: They won't even know that "rez" stands for!
Ranos Brumer: noon kno wthen?
Phillie Rhode: Hi Yuna
Torley Linden: oh you're totally welcome and I'M SO GLAD you told me this Gwynn, that's exactly what i was going for...
Altoid Jayaram: i thought it was a meeting
icktoofay Kamachi: Geneko: Unless they watch Torley's quicktips!
Altoid Jayaram: Hi Soap:)
Marianne McCann: Ya, having rezzing areas can be so so useful. Hard to have sometimes!
Phillie Rhode: It is Atoid
Torley Linden: i didn't want to gussy things up, i hate bullshot, and i'm a firm believer in showing videos to our engineers after and showing, "see, this is why it's a problem... not just for me but for many Residents!"
Yuna Myoo: wow! watermellon!
Geneko Nemeth: icktopfay: Nyahaha...
Torley Linden: haha icktoofay :)
Torley Linden: that's exactly why i made that one too
Rinoa Rives: most I meet dont even know what "drag the object to the ground" means
Gwynn Blackburn: Exactly! :D Thank you again.
Yuna Myoo eats the chair
Yuna Myoo: lolz...
Torley Linden: sometimes video tutorials show effective skills; other times they are workarounds for existing problems that may not be more convincingly fixed for weeks, or months
Yuna Myoo: jk
Marianne McCann: Embarassing to admit, but it took me a few weeks before I got the "drag to ground and olen box" concept
Haaku Duranjaya: hey there yuna
Marianne McCann: open*
Yuna Myoo: hey haaku!
Phillie Rhode: the new tagging you made is cool
Allison Littlething: I learned to build watching Torley's videos
Torley Linden: but encouraging and catalyzing this culture of sharing knowledge is so important to me, and as it turns out, so important to the many nice Resis who've encouraged me onwards.
Torley Linden: i'm thrilled to hear that Allison :)
Torley Linden: Phillie in the future i hope to make that more classifiable/searchable
Jennyl Jameson: i see no one lol
Torley Linden: glad you noticed it
JetZep Zabelin: hehe
icktoofay Kamachi: I forgot how I learned to build. :p
Marianne McCann: Allison - even after being here more than two years, I pck up new skills from the vidtuts
Allison Littlething: oh yes, me too.
Torley Linden: i began video tutorials as a lark to show some difficult-to-describe bugs, and after that, began putting together some "tips and tricks" stuff
Torley Linden: awww great to know Mari
JetZep Zabelin: it was at least a month before I knew about opening an object
Phillie Rhode: I learned it by destroying freebies and the tuts
Yuna Myoo: i cant see the screen!
Torley Linden: and then video tutorials grew and snowballed, really... totally because of each and everyone who watched them and found them useful + fun (usefun!) and let me know
Altoid Jayaram: Torley can I have yur children?
Torley Linden: so that's why it's my main job right now
Marianne McCann: usefun
Torley Linden: awww Altoid i am married but i appreciate your asking :D
Torley Linden: haha
Altoid Jayaram: KIK
Rinoa Rives: ROFL
Altoid Jayaram: LOL
Phillie Rhode: hehe
Rinoa Rives: Lawl ^-^
Rock Pond Pose ball: llStopAnimation: Script trying to stop animations but agent not found
Krull Aeon: lol
Crunk Munster: hahaha
Mayumi Fride: lol
Torley Linden: so my current role here is Resident Enlightenment Manager, which is based on a simple idea: if it's awesomely useful + fun, share it. whenever i find a tool or technique and i go, "damn, this is great... i wish more people know about i," then i absolutely have to spread the word.
Phillie Rhode: Hhe, I tried to translate the first tutorials, but I gave up after my micro was broken.
icktoofay Kamachi: I saw someone a while ago that claimed they knew you when you were Torley Torgeson.
Soap Clawtooth: Yeah good job on the spacenavigator.
Crunk Munster: crap inside the box. Don't think that's suppose to happen lol
Torley Linden: icktoofay, what was their name? if they were around in 2004 and 2005 they may've :)
Phillie Rhode: So I learned building during sycronizing *giggles*
Torley Linden: thanks Soap
Soap Clawtooth: :D
Multi Chair Crate v1.0.42 (TORLEY MOD) whispers: Maximum number of chairs reached, please rez another Multi Chair table.
icktoofay Kamachi: By now I've forgotton their name. :p
Krull Aeon: I enjoyed the tut on embedding youtube vids on the parcel
Pwnage Michigan: lol
Torley Linden: if you've ever wanted to upload your own music and play it as a radio station inworld without having to do live stream broadcasting, try MediaMaster - http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/06/17/play-your-own-radio-station-with-mediamaster/ :)
Torley Linden: i've got more tips coming up, also pointing to Resident tutorials
Torley Linden: glad you did, thanks Krull!
Crunk Munster: yea i was looking at that site. I'm going to start using it
Krull Aeon: Works like a charm, I actually host the downloaded files on my own servers
Torley Linden: the fact is, there's so much knowledge which is available but HARD TO FIND and that makes me sad. so to be happier and make others happier, i share it, connect it together, and share it in an elegant way.
Torley Linden: cool that's good to know :-)
Squirrel Wood: Torley, If you've got time this weekend and want to see what I've done with me terraformer - ping me ^^
Phate Shepherd: Too in love with Nicecast for now ;-)
Torley Linden: i am using MediaMaster on this land right now for my piano music
Torley Linden: thanks Squirrel =)
Krull Aeon: Thats GNU thinking Torley I like it :)
Torley Linden: i couldn't get Nicecast to work on my Mac but i think it's because of my router complexies
Yuna Myoo: oh no...video skipping...
Phillie Rhode: I hate silent crashes
Marianne McCann: Cool, Torley. I might use it for my plot in Bay City, so I can have some cheesy 1950s "library music" there
Torley Linden: Bay City has become quite the mainland phenomenon
Torley Linden: it's funny how certain archetypes of music evolve moods
Haaku Duranjaya: sweet... i'm still uploading my music... 630 songs...
Haaku Duranjaya: oi...
Torley Linden: ooooh
Crunk Munster: woah
Haaku Duranjaya: yea
Caitlyn Clawtooth: Torley: that must be it, had no problem with nicecast
Torley Linden: e.g., when you hear "circus music", what do you think of?
Marianne McCann: Torley - yes. The prices have been crrrazy, though I did manage to get a sweet auction deal there. Fun to build "in theme" for it
Rinoa Rives: hahah
Haaku Duranjaya: i got a big library
Squirrel Wood: upload my music? at over 60k songs? nevah! :p
Jennyl Jameson: where is torley, i dont see him but i hear him
Torley Linden: there are so very elegant softwares for Mac which i wish were on Windows too
Crunk Munster: I woudln't even dream of doing that Squirrel
Haaku Duranjaya: 60K?
Phillie Rhode: A friend of mine got a parcel for a good price
Squirrel Wood: 60k+
Haaku Duranjaya: whoa
Torley Linden: Jennyul, sitting on a chair in a circle... i was going to say watermelon-colored, but just about everything here (aside from us avatars) is!
Krull Aeon: Yes cross platform would be nice if they were using the same compilers
Geneko Nemeth: That's a log ot somgs squirrel!
Haaku Duranjaya: that means you got over 60K songs?
Phillie Rhode: It is not square shaped, so it was not very high rated
Caitlyn Clawtooth: Torley: well just run a mac in a window on windows .... oops :)
Marianne McCann: Cool, Phillie. I love my little parcel in Imaginario. Thoguh I wish my neighbor did't decide to build his megaprim skyscraper there
Torley Linden: i like that Java apps are so easy to get cross-platform, BUT... they are also ugly to look at/use.
Rinoa Rives: I'm hopping more double prims sims come avaliable in the near future ^ ^
Pwnage Michigan: Well.. Has been fun.. I must go.. Was so exiting to meet you.. Torley!
Phillie Rhode: She is in the Docklands
PrinceSeverus Slade: Why do you have that crush on watermellons, Torley?
Torley Linden: Jennyl you're like, right behind me now
Krull Aeon: Yes thats true
Soap Clawtooth: Java was always bulky.
Marianne McCann: See ya Pwnage
Torley Linden: Pwnage, thanx! take care!
Pwnage Michigan: u 2 ^^!!!
Jennyl Jameson: hmmm
Torley Linden: watermelons are so awesome in many ways
Torley Linden: they're hard to forget too
Jennyl Jameson: i dont even see ur name
Jennyl Jameson: lol
Phillie Rhode: Bye Pwnage
Multi Chair Crate v1.0.42 (TORLEY MOD) whispers: Maximum number of chairs reached, please rez another Multi Chair table.
PrinceSeverus Slade: Lol
Krull Aeon: Watermelon and honey smoothies :D
Torley Linden: it's very easy to say "hey, that's torley, he likes watermelons"... i don't like to make it hard for people to remember me, that just adds unneeeded complexity to their lives
Geneko Nemeth: Actually if Java apps use Swing or AWT they don't have to use the stupid purlpleish "metal" Java look and feel, they can use one tha mimic the native look and feel.
Phillie Rhode: and Toast with sugar and butter
icktoofay Kamachi: PrinceSeverus: His group says "I love watermelons because thay are tasty!"
Torley Linden: Geneko: i didn't know that, thanks... not something i've looked into closer yet.
Altoid Jayaram: Torley can you saw " Greetings from Torley LInden" on mic, so i can die a happy woman
JetZep Zabelin: Did you try the watermelon juice yet? mmm mmmm
Altoid Jayaram: say*
Torley Linden: watermelons taste good, smell good, look good... pink/green colors FTW!
Jennyl Jameson: lol altoid
Geneko Nemeth: 47 what?
Soap Clawtooth chuckles.
Crunk Munster: lol
Rinoa Rives: I met someont that has never tasted a watermelon.... I was completely shocked
Phillie Rhode: I like the colors of watermelons
Yuna Myoo: muahh...i get big screen since i can not see the small one
Torley Linden: Altoid not on voice at the moment due to my background sound setup (i was editing video tutorials) but... i hope i can do it for you live in the future
Marianne McCann: Torley is to Watermelons what Aimee is to blue butterfly wingswhat I am to pigtails
Torley Linden: i am considering doing voice chat office hours more and more :o)
Crunk Munster: lol
Torley Linden: so i apologize, Altoid, but hope you can eventually hear me say FRIENDLY GREETINGS like and direct
Altoid Jayaram: Can I be invited to those Torley?
Gwynn Blackburn: I made an avatar at one point that was a floating bubble, and I used one of your watermelon textures, and a friend of mine recognized it on sight as one of yours :P
Phillie Rhode: Oh no, it is so confusing in Voice LOL
Jennyl Jameson thinks torley's avi doesn't exist
Geneko Nemeth: Hay maybe we could make a Torley pull string toy!
Torley Linden: yes Altoid... i'd likely broadcast it on http://blog.secondlife.com
Yuna Myoo: wow...i see a fox
Marianne McCann: The Torley see and say!
Torley Linden: Jennyl, oh i must! who do you see?
Torley Linden: i can speak!
Torley Linden: haha
Torley Linden: lol Gwynn, there you go ;D
icktoofay Kamachi: Torley, I have a sound clip that I got from one of your Vidtuts that says "It's me, Torley Linden!"
Jennyl Jameson: a bunch of peopole
icktoofay Kamachi: :p
Altoid Jayaram: Awesome...I will watch for it!
Torley Linden: hahahahaha icktoofay
Soap Clawtooth: He's in a green suit wearing a snap brin fedora twixt Paul Bumi & Marianne, Jennyl.
Haaku Duranjaya: \o/
icktoofay Kamachi gave you ItsTorleyLinden.
Caitlyn Clawtooth: time for me to scoot, byers!
Marianne McCann: Bye Bye!!
Torley Linden: omg no joke
Soap Clawtooth: brim*
Torley Linden: jhaha
Phillie Rhode: Byes Caitlyn!
Altoid Jayaram: Can the lady on voice, please not laugh on mic
Torley Linden: this is too funneh
Phillie Rhode: Take care
Altoid Jayaram: its really annoying
Rinoa Rives wishes she had movelock with the guy on the trike riding around
Yuna Myoo: Haha dats funny!!
Marianne McCann: Heh... I'd so so make a Linden See and Say. I'd need more Lindens, though
Torley Linden: See and Say almost sounds like Speak & Spell
Altoid Jayaram: not when you laugh like ahorse
Jennyl Jameson: haha speak and spell is the devil
Altoid Jayaram: CAUSE WE LOVE TORLEY!
Haaku Duranjaya: OMG
Soap Clawtooth: I always prefered 'point & shoot' over 'say and see' lol.
Geneko Nemeth: 39 agents in region.
Ranos Brumer: how bout scratch & smell?
Torley Linden: i type with two fingers and call it "hunt & seek" instead of "hunt & peck"
Torley Linden: Ranos, that's one for Beavis & Butthead... ehehehehehe
Torley Linden: "I AM CORNHOLIO!"
Haaku Duranjaya: \o/
Soap Clawtooth: depends what's being scratched and what's being sniffed... LOL.
Torley Linden: that's gotta be one of my fave cartoon lines
Dakota Tebaldi: How about one of those old-fashioned toys where you pull the string and an arrow in the center spins around while it plays a sound clip?
Ranos Brumer: lol
Phate Shepherd: Been great to listen in Torley... gotta run... thanks for having office hours!
Torley Linden: take care Phate! thanx for coming!
Altoid Jayaram: PONK!
Ponk Bing: hey!
Torley Linden: and thanx for blimpy goodness!
Geneko Nemeth touch-types, was taught by a certain zombie-shooting game
Crunk Munster: PONKU!!
Ranos Brumer: I do have a question
Altoid Jayaram: lol
Torley Linden: haha Geneko, sounds like Typer of the Dead? or a similar name to that
Ranos Brumer: For anyone really
Torley Linden: do ask!
Crash Gynoid: torley did you design the user interface for SL? it looks like you did.
Geneko Nemeth: Yes Torley It's...
Geneko Nemeth: The Typing of The Dead.

Torley Linden: Crash: uh, which colors might these be? :p
Soap Clawtooth: I like the UI for SL....but I do feel its rather generic now, every website uses the whole 'glassy' look.

Rinoa Rives <--- UI designer.... but not for LL
