I'm the Director of Studio Icehouse at Linden Lab.
A "studio" at LL is an engineering group that rallies around a set of related projects over a longer term. Studio Icehouse is focused on messaging and architectural underpinnings of Second Life. Right now (Spring 2007) we are mostly working on the plumbing... Later this Summer we'll be working more on the city planning and highways. (Metaphorically speaking here... )
I'm heavily involved in forming the Architecture Working Group.
