== What's an Infohub? ==

An Infohub, also known as a Welcome Area, is a place where Residents congregate and socialize, and there are usually kiosks providing Second Life information. Infohubs can be fun places to hang out and learn about the world if you're new, although silly stuff happens on occasion.

Official Infohubs are owned by [[Linden Lab]] and mostly built by [[Residents]], but some Residents run their own, unofficial social spaces which they also call Infohubs.

Infohubs are represented on the World Map with blue ''i's'', like this:

To show them, make sure that '''Infohub''' on the right-hand legend is checked.

How to configure your viewer, if your computer is NOT state of the art... (lag issues)

In the "edit" menu, click on "preferences". Then, on the left side, click the "Hardware Options" Button. This will open a new window with more settings...

* filtering: off
* antialiasing: disabled
* vbo/fbo: on
* texture memory: should be your graphics card memory size
* fog distance: well the lower, the better
** the less detailes you set, the better will be the performance of your viewer

If you are using a different viewer, other than the original one and you are experiencing heavy client lag, you might want to edit your graphics settings just as mentioned above.
There is more stuff you could edit. If you need help, just ask.

Not a professional coder I am, it's more like a hobby. So her are 10 things to know about HTTP-in objects:

1. There will be URL limits per region and split by land ownership

2. URLs will be temporary

3. A maximum of 38 URLs per resident can be used (this also means 38 attachment points total)

4. HTTP requests are limited to 2 kb in the body (wow really? Is anything that small 2 kb?)

5. Headers will be limited to 255 bytes (even smaller)

6. Response sizes will likely be limited

7. Per script limit of 64 flight requests

8. Speeds may be throttled

9. Returned data is only in text/plain; utf-8 format

10. URL limits are the same as the prim limits
