Why collect complex examples here? Well, there are many [[script|scripts]] that have become buried in the [[Old forum Scripting Library index| old forum Scripting Library]], the [http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Scripting-Library/bd-p/2122 2010 library archive], or the current [http://community.secondlife.com/t5/LSL-Scripting-Library/bd-p/LSLScriptingLibrary LSL Scripting Library]; were lost with the death of the early scripting forums; or sit idle in [[inventory|inventories]] that could be useful and should be more accessible.

Other scripters may be in the same situation. This wiki is a well-suited medium for a script library. Feel free to add your scripts to the script library by creating new pages for them and linking to those pages here. Note that there are many more scripts in the LSL Library here, but you can't get to them if you don't know they exist, because they are subpages now, instead of an automatically updated category. Good luck searching.

What am I working on?

== LSL Tutorials ==

I do some scripting, and as of this writing (mid-Aug, 2010) I'm starting to work on putting together a shop, and documenting the stuff I've learned about scripting over the 3 or so years I've been around SL.

* Tutorials on various areas, like communcations, physics, vehicles, etc on my website.
* Clarifying and/or completing LSL function pages on this wiki. Many are really good, but the occasional one has information missing, or was written assuming some knowledge.

== Viewer Protocol ==
The viewer and the SL service communicate with each other via a set of protocols. There are a number of pages in the open source area of the wiki which are either completely empty or have almost no information at all.

The primary information, actually the only ''complete'' information on this protocol is the viewer source code.

So, I'll be slowly picking away at the viewer source to document this, seeing as nobody else has. After all, hacking at an existing code base to add features doesn't need full understanding of it, and understanding it to produce a TPV "from scratch" implies understanding it, but not necessarily the ability or even desire to document it. :)

I've been programming computers for 30 or so years now, worked as a firmware developer for 15, but I got tired of the consulting biz in high tech, so now I'm pursuing other creative interests both in SL and RL.

Happens when a message comes in on the group IM and the session has not already started. A tab is created on the communications window, and if local chat history was not open, the actual message appears on the screen. The tab closes again once this error is clicked on. This error can happen repeatedly until the user successfully gets the group IM opened (manually).
