- [12:02] Davy Linden: Today's agenda: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/Monday_Agenda
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: hey all, sorry having issues
- [12:02] Drew Dwi: has anyone heard anything on the voice issue? its been left re-opened on status blog for a week now :X
- [12:02] Alexa Linden: ready when you are davy
- [12:02] Davy Linden: that's first on the list drew
- [12:02] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5698 - Voice Issues 4-12-2010
- [12:02] Drew Dwi: ^^
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: this is just a meta issue
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: leave as is?
- [12:03] Davy Linden: but there are recent comments on some of the relted issues, saying it's still a problem
- [12:03] Alexa Linden: import?
- [12:03] Soft Linden: I'd leave as is for now
- [12:03] Drew Dwi: the status blog still has it as re-opened
- [12:03] Soft Linden: The status page says that's still open
- [12:03] Soft Linden: Right.
- [12:03] Drew Dwi: but no updates for a week is bad
- [12:04] Ardy Lay: Voice is still unavailable in 3 of my regions.
- [12:04] Soft Linden: Oh wow, yeah - april 12
- [12:04] Ardy Lay: Support told me to waid for the rolling-restart.
- [12:04] Davy Linden: should this be 'contact support" with region names
- [12:04] Davy Linden: oh
- [12:04] Drew Dwi: for all of them?
- [12:04] Ardy Lay: Yes
- [12:04] Gramma Fiddlesticks: a reboot of our sim fixed voice for us apparently.
- [12:04] Soft Linden: Wild.
- [12:04] Ardy Lay: Mine are mainland.
- [12:05] Soft Linden: The status page shouldn't be reopened and sitting that way for a week
- [12:05] Drew Dwi: we left them open because of the status page
- [12:05] Soft Linden: There should be a new internal JIRA pointing that out, critical to Joe or similar
- [12:05] Soft Linden: If that's really still a standing issue, he'd want to know
- [12:05] Soft Linden: If it's not, he should know who can follow up
- [12:05] Davy Linden: we can tie the pjira issue to dev-48810
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:06] Latif Khalifa: a new status just went up http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2010/04/19/post982/
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: and add an internal comment
- [12:06] Soft Linden: I sure wish those status updates included authors :P
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: me too :p
- [12:06] Latif Khalifa: haha
- [12:06] Drew Dwi: they used too
- [12:06] Alexa Linden: Hey! turn that back on!
- [12:06] Latif Khalifa: "status desk"
- [12:07] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:07] Drew Dwi: I imagine they got removed due to massive IMs after posting something
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: I'll take care of this one
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: tie to internal, add notes
- [12:08] Davy Linden: ty alexa
- [12:08] Soft Linden: I just dropped a note to Joe on IRC, pointing out that stauts
- [12:08] Alexa Linden: ty soft
- [12:08] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1600 - Logins no loger persist between sessions on forums
- [12:08] Soft Linden: I have no idea if this is intentional. I'd import to be sure.
- [12:09] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:09] Davy Linden: ok
- [12:09] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1597 - Image does not display using URL to access it
- [12:09] Drew Dwi: hm
- [12:09] MarySue Delvalle blinks
- [12:10] Drew Dwi: I duno about this one I presumed it worked before?
- [12:11] Soft Linden: I don't think this is designed to be used by third parties
- [12:11] Soft Linden: I'd import it with that question, I guess.
- [12:11] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:11] Soft Linden: Is it okay for people to use this? If so... balh.
- [12:11] Soft Linden: blah
- [12:11] Opensource Obscure: i though that worked for profile images only
- [12:12] Soft Linden: It may well be limited intentionally.
- [12:12] Soft Linden: We don't want to become the next imageshack
- [12:12] Drew Dwi: I thought profile picks also
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:12] Alexa Linden: me too
- [12:12] Drew Dwi: but not any upload
- [12:12] Opensource Obscure: wait
- [12:13] Opensource Obscure: i can confirm we can still see profile images
- [12:13] Opensource Obscure: via web, i mean
- [12:13] Davy Linden: so, import, and ask what expected behavior is?
- [12:13] Opensource Obscure: sorry i will comment later
- [12:13] Alexa Linden: will do
- [12:13] Soft Linden: Davy - yeah
- [12:13] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-18884 - using extreem amounts of bandwidth - streaming audio
- [12:13] Drew Dwi: I commented on this one but I've not had time to properly test
- [12:14] Drew Dwi: if it is still streaming when disabled, thats a big problem
- [12:14] Soft Linden: this is Viewer 2 - I thought today was 1.x, web and svc?
- [12:14] Latif Khalifa: are 1.x bugs still triaged?
- [12:14] Alexa Linden: supposed to be Soft, I'll IM harleen again
- [12:15] Soft Linden: Yeah, since some 1.x bugs may actually be svc bugs, or may still apply to 2.0
- [12:16] Soft Linden: The goal was to find the remaining high vote and high importance issues so they didn't get lost in a lot of the UI JIRAs, etc surrounding Viewer 2.
- [12:17] Soft Linden: Anyway, we had an issue last week claiming that viewer 2 was leaving streams open even after leaving parcels
- [12:17] Gramma Fiddlesticks: would that include maybe SVC 1509?
- [12:17] Soft Linden: This looks like a dupe of that
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:17] Soft Linden: that = last week's, not what Gramma said
- [12:17] Alexa Linden: right
- [12:18] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-17087 - Plugin "media_plugin_webkit" crash due to Avira AntiVir WebGuard
- [12:19] Drew Dwi: I don't know if LL keeps contacts with anti virus companies but my guess is to get this fix someone will have to prod Avira
- [12:19] Soft Linden: So they say it's not Flash related in later comments
- [12:20] Soft Linden: I'd import and nudge it toward Sam
- [12:20] Drew Dwi: because its blocking the outbound http connections from an unknown source, and looks like its killing the process aswell
- [12:20] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:20] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-17696 - Crash when attemping to upload a texture
- [12:22] Opensource Obscure: I used to crash on Linux when uploading a file using the "Recent files" dummy path provided by Gnome filemanager. not sure if it still happens in V2 tho.
- [12:22] Drew Dwi: might be helpful to have the file they are trying to upload
- [12:22] Davy Linden: I would NMI this one... ask for a specific texture / image type which crashes
- [12:22] Latif Khalifa: from the backtrace it looks like a crash when viewr goes from idle mode (after open dialog closes)
- [12:22] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:22] Soft Linden: Yeah, what Davy said
- [12:22] Latif Khalifa: i don't think it gets to actual upload
- [12:22] Soft Linden: Sample file would help a lot.
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:23] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-17814 - Rapid clicks on adjustment arrows in build menu no longer registered.
- [12:23] Davy Linden: this rewpros for me
- [12:23] Davy Linden: repros too
- [12:23] Alexa Linden: ^^
- [12:23] Drew Dwi: video makes it pretty clear
- [12:23] Soft Linden: Joe said that voice status shouldn't have still been open - I nudged the communications monkey
- [12:23] Davy Linden: create prim; click hollow up-arrow quickly 3 times
- [12:24] Davy Linden: hollow will only increase twice
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: I'll import this one
- [12:24] Opensource Obscure: (( ok, that 'recent files' upload crash happens on V2 ;-))
- [12:24] Latif Khalifa: it's seems to be generic viewer2 thing. when i 'm afk a lot, i could get 100-200 notifications, it's painful to kill them all since viewer seems to be throttling clicks
- [12:24] Alexa Linden: yup
- [12:24] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-18824 - Inventory focus bug will cause deletion of in-world objects, using DEL key
- [12:25] Drew Dwi: hm
- [12:25] Davy Linden: ouch
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: whatever is your main focus, you'll delete
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: whether in folders or inworld
- [12:26] Davy Linden: but clicking inventory should un-highlight and selected in-ord objects?
- [12:26] Bronson Blackadder: oh goodie
- [12:26] Davy Linden: any*
- [12:26] Drew Dwi: right
- [12:26] Drew Dwi: I can't repro this, I have no delete button on my keyboard heh
- [12:26] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:27] Latif Khalifa: un-hilighting is also generic viewer2 issue
- [12:27] Drew Dwi: but it doesn't look like it happens if you right click and delete
- [12:27] Bronson Blackadder: I just repro'd it
- [12:27] Davy Linden: I suspect this is related to EXT-4128
- [12:27] Bronson Blackadder: lol
- [12:27] Bronson Blackadder: just sacrificed an item in inventory
- [12:27] Latif Khalifa: yeah Davy
- [12:28] Alexa Linden: I'll link together
- [12:28] Drew Dwi: which is VWR-16993
- [12:28] JIRA-helper: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-16993
- [#VWR-16993] When I click on an object in-world it stays highlighted (like a selection-highlight).
- [12:28] Drew Dwi: same root cause
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: I'll link and import
- [12:29] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1594 - JavaScript incompatibility with Opera Browser v.10
- [12:29] Drew Dwi: any opera fans? :P
- [12:29] Opensource Obscure: hey, 2 votes! both Opera users are SL residents too!
- [12:29] Davy Linden: hmm. assigned to siz (by OP?) but not imported?
- [12:29] Alexa Linden: LOL
- [12:30] Drew Dwi: lol
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: I'll import
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: and see if he even knows it's assigned to him ;)
- [12:30] Drew Dwi: because it began in XLS
- [12:30] Drew Dwi: which probably auto sets him as assignee
- [12:30] Davy Linden: ah
- [12:30] Alexa Linden: right
- [12:31] Drew Dwi: so maybe unassign, duno how web does triage
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: I'm pretty sure I'll end up re-assigning
- [12:31] Ellla McMahon: yes it does auto-assign
- [12:31] Davy Linden: +1 drew
- [12:31] Alexa Linden: I'll take care of that
- [12:31] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-17261 - Chat and Instant Message windows use too much vertical space
- [12:31] Drew Dwi: meta issue? or FR?
- [12:32] Davy Linden: hmm. there are some issues saying 'not enough space', others 'too much', and it seems thay both keep getting fixed!
- [12:32] Drew Dwi: heh
- [12:32] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:32] Soft Linden: As Davy says on this - it has an option already
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: FR?
- [12:33] Davy Linden: logged 16 march. was that against the beta that had lines VERY close together?
- [12:33] Davy Linden: or double spaced?
- [12:33] Drew Dwi: there was a spacing issue before
- [12:33] Davy Linden: I'd NMI - still a problem ith latest build?
- [12:33] Soft Linden: Exepected behavior, since there's already an option that fixes the described issue?
- [12:33] Alexa Linden: kk
- [12:33] Drew Dwi: depends on what they were trying to say orignally
- [12:34] Soft Linden: The original reporter seemed okay with Davy pointing out the existing option.
- [12:34] Drew Dwi: fix it*
- [12:34] Drew Dwi: o.O local chat lag
- [12:34] Drew Dwi: yea, so EB, re-open if plain text chat doesn't do it
- [12:34] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-18924 - Ctrl Z has stopped working when editing several prims
- [12:35] Soft Linden: I'd ask if this is still a problem - I know I was using this a lot on the weekend, and it was still fine
- [12:35] Soft Linden: Comment says similar
- [12:35] Drew Dwi: 1.23
- [12:36] Alexa Linden: k
- [12:36] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-18547 - No inworld sounds (sound effects) in Viewer 2, while UI sounds, voice and streaming media work
- [12:36] Soft Linden: pretty sure undo is server-side, mind. I think this would be an SVC issue
- [12:36] Soft Linden: Not 100% certain though!
- [12:37] Soft Linden: Huh, wild
- [12:37] Drew Dwi: in their enviroment output
- [12:37] Davy Linden: I think thi may have something to do with maturity settings...
- [12:37] Soft Linden: Yeah, I think this is deliberate
- [12:37] Soft Linden: They say they're setting General maturity, then going on a non-General parcel
- [12:37] Drew Dwi: they are setting? or it came pre-set?
- [12:38] Soft Linden: I didn't know you could even enter non-General parcels as a General resi
- [12:38] Davy Linden: lol - I hadn't even read description
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: ya gestures require a Mature setting
- [12:38] Drew Dwi: I don't think you can
- [12:38] Alexa Linden: I know this from having the same issue
- [12:38] Drew Dwi: his screenshots are in a general parcel though
- [12:38] Soft Linden: They shouldn't be able to access a mature region
- [12:38] Drew Dwi: 2 of 3
- [12:38] Soft Linden: I think the repro steps are what matter here.
- [12:39] Drew Dwi: so EB?
- [12:39] Drew Dwi: or maybe a bug that he got into the mature region at all
- [12:39] Soft Linden: Yeah, except that I'm still confused that they imply they can get to the moderate region
- [12:39] Soft Linden: If you set your prefs for General, that should restrict entry in the first place
- [12:39] Davy Linden: it may be as-designed (EB), but it's causing a lot of confusion
- [12:39] Drew Dwi: unless you are already inside the region?
- [12:40] Soft Linden: Maybe, yeah.
- [12:40] Latif Khalifa: afaik everybody can get into those, setting to only applies to adult
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: I would think so... I will re-read this and clarify the details
- [12:40] Latif Khalifa: (and search)
- [12:40] Soft Linden: I think I'd like to NMI with a few questions...
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: ya
- [12:40] Alexa Linden: I'll makr this up
- [12:40] Soft Linden: Yeah.
- [12:40] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1574 - Teen Grid: The "What is Teen Second Life?" page on the TSL website needs changing to reflect the fact that teens are now sharing a forum with adults.
- [12:41] Soft Linden: Really, I don't understand why parcels even have the mature flag if that's supposed to be a property of the region now.
- [12:41] Alexa Linden nods
- [12:41] Soft Linden: And yeah, I'd import this for them to make the call
- [12:41] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:42] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-17219 - I can not toggle out of full screen mode.
- [12:42] Drew Dwi: I feel like I read/heard fullscreen was no longer supported?
- [12:42] Soft Linden: It's not an officially supported option, though we still have the setting buried in Advanced
- [12:43] Drew Dwi: ah
- [12:43] Soft Linden: yay, blog link not loading
- [12:43] Latif Khalifa: does alt-enter still work in 2.0?
- [12:43] Drew Dwi: no
- [12:43] Alexa Linden: nope
- [12:43] Latif Khalifa: ah ok
- [12:43] Opensource Obscure: for the record, no luck w/ fullscreen on V2, linux. fonts and textures get corrupted or such
- [12:43] Davy Linden: i imagine the workaround (for the original problem) i to delete settings file
- [12:44] Drew Dwi: yea, there is a bug in about the texture corruption
- [12:44] Soft Linden: Yeah, it finally loaded
- [12:44] Latif Khalifa: that's an improvement, i've heard many "omg what happened" stories when people accidentaly went full screen
- [12:44] Alexa Linden: lol
- [12:44] Soft Linden: And they tell how to hand-edit the prefs, so that's not a supportable solution
- [12:44] Soft Linden: Anyway, pretty sure there are a few issues already on full screen hangs/crashes
- [12:45] Opensource Obscure: pity. no fullscreen and no totally-hideable UI = less immersive experience
- [12:45] Davy Linden: find dupes nd link?
- [12:45] Soft Linden: Yeah.
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: I'll hunt around for one
- [12:45] Drew Dwi: the issue is linked already to a few of them
- [12:45] Soft Linden: Yeah, but I think there are closer matches
- [12:45] Drew Dwi: let me look
- [12:45] Alexa Linden: ty Drew :)
- [12:46] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-18659 - Avatar name not filled in when offering a Group Invitation to an offline avatar who is not on your Friends list
- [12:46] Soft Linden: For the last - VWR-10345 would be one, though Bao marked it as fixed
- [12:46] JIRA-helper: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-10345
- [#VWR-10345] 1.22 Viewer crashes in and around fullscreen
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: hmmmmm
- [12:46] Soft Linden: So maybe it's been fixed and re-broken
- [12:46] Alexa Linden: I can ask any of my groups about that
- [12:46] Soft Linden: Given that, I'd import it and link the internal to that issue's internal as well
- [12:47] Soft Linden: (related, not dupe)
- [12:47] Drew Dwi: 1.22?
- [12:47] Soft Linden: Yup.
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: davy and I just tested
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: can't repro
- [12:47] Drew Dwi: I can't find anything on that fullscreen stuff, all the complaints are about texture/graphics
- [12:47] Alexa Linden: thanks Drew :)
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: still want us to import soft?
- [12:48] Soft Linden: Alexa - yeah. I'd import, and link it as related to the internal counterpart of VWR-10345
- [12:48] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:48] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-5583 - Scripts fail to compile, run, delete, and randomly appear as "Old Script" in inventory
- [12:48] Drew Dwi: woah
- [12:49] Drew Dwi: hmm, maybe this is from that 1.83.1 rollback that had to occur?
- [12:49] Latif Khalifa: sounds like something you'd experience during times when the asset server is having blues
- [12:49] Soft Linden: Looks like he should be working with support
- [12:50] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:50] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-18428 - Alpha Mask wearable not easily modified... needs sliders before release
- [12:50] Soft Linden: I believe 1.38.1 had to do with some object assets not parsing - not scripts
- [12:50] Drew Dwi: FR?
- [12:50] Drew Dwi: for the alpha mask
- [12:51] Davy Linden: I think so
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: well you can do this via the templates
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: for clothing
- [12:51] Alexa Linden: so ya this would be a FR
- [12:52] Latif Khalifa: 2) nyx is working on (multi wearables of the same type)
- [12:52] Latif Khalifa: 1) is a nice FR
- [12:52] Alexa Linden nods'
- [12:52] Alexa Linden: marking it as one
- [12:52] Bug Triage: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-17018 - Object edit pane click zoom option not reflected in Object Profile.
- [12:53] Soft Linden: I don't think that "click to" was supposed to be in there
- [12:53] Drew Dwi: doesn't repro for me
- [12:54] Drew Dwi: oh there it is
- [12:54] Drew Dwi: if you set an object to Zoom
- [12:54] Drew Dwi: then do object profile
- [12:54] Drew Dwi: it will still say click to open
- [12:54] Latif Khalifa: it doesn't exist in properties in 1.23
- [12:54] Soft Linden: Ah, I see.
- [12:54] Drew Dwi: because object profile is missing Zoom in the sidebar
- [12:54] Soft Linden: Why the hell is that under "My Inventory" in the sidebar?
- [12:55] Latif Khalifa: should prolly be killed in 2.0 inv properties
- [12:55] Drew Dwi: I think there are 2 bugs here
- [12:55] Latif Khalifa: you get to the same place by right clicking in inv and selecting properties
- [12:55] Soft Linden: Yeah, it's a similar panel then, but it should have fewer options when done there.
- [12:56] Soft Linden: Anyway, yeah - this looks like it should be imported...
- [12:56] Drew Dwi: it has a deed button but no checkmark for share also
- [12:56] Drew Dwi: hm
- [12:56] Soft Linden: And there should be another issue to change the misleading title
- [12:56] Alexa Linden: ok
- [12:56] Soft Linden: Ah, and that would be a third then!
- [12:56] Drew Dwi: i'll put that in after this
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: and I think that's the last issue for today :D
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: Thank you all for attending
- [12:58] Latif Khalifa: yey xD
- [12:58] Davy Linden: thanks everyone
- [12:58] Techwolf Lupindo: I wonders if theses bugs are coverd by an existing EXT issue
- [12:58] Opensource Obscure: like Soft wrote today on Twitter ... Another Second Life creation made real! RT @jimmy_wales: Crayon Rockets. That's all you need to know http://ow.ly/1ylht
- [12:58] Latif Khalifa: thank you Alexa, Davy, Soft
- [12:58] Drew Dwi: thanks :)
- [12:58] Alexa Linden: I'll get everything imported/tied together
