Dusky Jewell, former Co-Owner, H8 Motors Company
February 25, 2007 - The Doors' fan aptly named herself Dusky Jewell after a lyric penned by the late Jim Morrison. She logged into Orientation Island after reading a long forgotten online article about virtual casinos, and protests against real life corporations taking over the Second Life grid. The curious visit was intended to be brief, but lasted over five years.
June 9, 2007 - Dusky met her neighbor Mick Huet on the mainland sim of Wahoo. This meeting changed Dusky's Second Life permanently, as Huet became her close friend and business partner.
June 2012 - Dusky (the avatar) is no longer active in Second Life.
H8 Motors Classic Motorcyles
January 9, 2008 - Augustus Arkin (formerly of West Coast), Mick Huet, and Dusky Jewell ópen H8 Motors Classic Motorcycles on the mainland sim of Wommington, featuring high-prim classic motorcycles and cars never before seen on the Second Life grid. H8 Motors popularity was instant upon opening it's doors. The first 256-prim motorcycle designer, Arkin, offered classic replicas such as the Easy Rider Captain America, Vincent Blackshadow, and Indian Four. H8 Motors was targeted for unstoppable content theft. Arkin lost interest in content creation, and winter 2009 was the final release of new motorcycles.
H8 Motors Express
May 2008 - The H8 Motors team (Huet and Jewell) releases a 256-prim, automatic, HUD driven, SLRR and private track compatable non-physical steam engine called the H8 Motors Express. The H8 Motors Express Company was established, and named after the engine. The non-physical train scripts were the first of their kind on the grid. The H8 Motors Express track set made it's public debut at the 2008 Rail Rally. It was the only engine (out of all trains on display) to operate continuously around the Rail Rally grounds for the entire duration of the event. H8 Motors introduced smoother curved track pieces that was compatible with Linden railroad track. H8 Motors also introduced the first automatic track maker tools for railroad and monorail track. The newly established Virtual Railway Consortium (VRC) requests a copy of H8 Motors commercial train script and is denied.
2009 - The VRC releases a free non-physical train script that was reverse engineered from a H8 Motors engine, less many of H8 Motors automated and HUD operation features.
H8 Motors Company
January 6, 2010 - Augustus Arkin is bought out by Huet and Jewell. H8 Motors Classic Motorcycles, and H8 Motors Express are merged into the H8 Motors Company, the main store was formerly located in Taeniatum.
May 25, 2010 - Dusky Jewell parts with H8 Motors to establish her own unrelated business under a different avatar.
