The sample has many confusing things for beginners (e.g. defining ist own "say" and "ownersay" functions) as well and also - imho - propagates bad scripting style. It also has logical flaws. Erm.. I have set llAllowInventoryDrop(TRUE) and when I (with my built and owned object set to no mod) drop something in it's highlighted red but when my alt drops something in (disabled mod rights for this) the object is not highlighted red but the drop still occurs. Is that right? -- Eddy (talk|contribs) 03:17, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Dropping into fully transparent objects

With a fully alpha object an attempted drop goes to the object behind the object you are aiming at or if backed by the ground the object you are attempting to drop is rezzed. If the object you are aiming at is highlighted by editing first then the drop succeeds. -- Eddy (talk|contribs) 14:52, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Hm... I assumed you were right with this, though I just tested it in Second Life 1.23.4 (123523) Jun 9 2009 08:50:09 (Second Life Release Candidate) and Snowglobe 1.1.2 (2584) Jul 31 2009 18:48:57 (Snowglobe Release) and it works fine for me. The object's edging becomes highlighted in red when I hover the mouse over it. Did you ensure to hold down the CTRL key when dragging and dropping the object? Which client release are you using?

Second Life 1.23.4 (123523)(Second Life Release Candidate) and yes to the ctrl key. -- Eddy (talk|contribs) 16:04, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Although in the end it is a good thing I was so insistent I'm sorry for being a bit aggressive with my caveat making. *hugs* -- Eddy (talk|contribs) 07:11, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
  • BTW Might also be useful to note that NO RED HIGHLIGHT is seen by the dropper if into a prim not owned by them (at least that is the case for no mod prims), but I will leave this addition to be decided and actioned by another. *coughs* Okies? -- Eddy (talk|contribs) 07:22, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Example too long?...

The current example (a suggestion drop box with a complex permissions system, configured via notecard) is perhaps a tad too big and might be better suited for the LSL Script Library instead?...
