The word User, in computer technology, is a short-form name for the "user interface," which refers to how humans or (guest) machines control a part of a (host) computer system through cybernetic devices (i.e. a keyboard, monitor, joystick, HUDs, shell command line, icons, other virtual devices, etc). The opposite is a "system intraface," where the (host) computer system controls other aspects of its own (host) computer system. In a virtual world, the User controls an Avatar. The User may provide information in order to verify Identity.
