| Play typing animation when chatting

By default when typing in nearby chat, your avatar's arms move and there's a typing sound. Uncheck this to disable those effects. This only affects you. |
| Email me IMs when I'm offline
|
Sends instant messages in email to the address specified in Your Contact Information on secondlife.com. For caveats, see Limits. |
| Enable plain text chat history
|
Displays Communicate > Nearby Chat compactly. When disabled, displays avatar icons and additional formatting. |
| Buble Chat | Display chat text in word bubbles above avatars. |

Chose either Separate windows or Tabs. |
| Enable incoming chat popups |
Choose the types of chat for which you want to see popups. |
| Nearby chat toasts lifetime | Number of seconds that nearby chat text is displayed. |
| Nearby chat toasts fading time | Number of seconds it takes chat text to fad out. |
| Translation Settings | Click to set or change machine translation settings for chat text. |
