When you're selling, the Manage inventory section of the Marketplace makes it easy to edit your item listings one at a time or in bulk.
How do I get to "Manage inventory"?
- After logging in to the Marketplace, choose My Marketplace > Merchant home in the upper-right.
- On the left-hand side, choose Manage inventory.
What does Sync Marketplace with Magic Boxes do?
If you've added objects to the content of an inworld Magic Box, yet the expected listing isn't showing up here, click the Sync Marketplace with Magic Boxes button to refresh.
Note: Eventually, Magic Boxes will be obsolete. |
- Listed - The "normal", active status of an item being publicly visible and available for purchase on the Marketplace.
- Exception: limited-quantity items stay Listed after they've sold out, but can't be purchased.
- Unlisted - An item is inactive: intentionally hidden and can't be purchased. Examples why you might unlist a product:
- You're permanently discontinuing the product, but want to keep the item listing info around for personal records.
- The product is meant to be sold for a limited span of time (like holiday and seasonal items), and will be temporarily unlisted until the next time an appropriate event comes around.
- You've discovered serious bugs in your product and don't want customers to suffer that known pain, so you make an announcement on your Marketplace store (and/or other presence like a blog) and temporarily unlist the product, so you can focus on a fix.
- Unavailable - Several reasons, including:
- Freshly-added items with incomplete listings show up here. You need to Edit each one and fill in at least the required fields to List those items.
- If an item violates the Marketplace Terms of Service final link pending, for now see the older Xstreet ToS, Linden Lab may move it here.
I want to upgrade one of my products to a new version. How do I change the object associated with existing listing information?
How do I manage items in bulk?
There are known bugs with listings not updating as expected.
- Check the boxes in the leftmost column that correspond to the items you want to edit, or check the top box to check them all.
- If you have a big inventory and want to view/select more items at once, change Items per page above to a higher number, like 100.
- Below, next to Modify selected items, choose an option from the dropdown (List, Unlist, or Edit) and click Go. The page refreshes with a confirmation message.
What do I need to know if I choose Edit?
For each field you want to bulk-edit for multiple items — and replace the previous contents of — you need to check its corresponding box on the left. Be sure you want to overwrite the old info.
Choosing Edit for multiple items is a useful way to standardize fields that are the same. For example, if you're selling colored variations of hair, most of the info will be identical. Or you might have a standard blurb that you use across multiple products, before going in to add specific details to each listing as-desired.
